A 27-year-old man brutally attacked three people in Le Mans on Saturday morning before being arrested by police officers from the Brigade anticriminalité (BAC), Actu17 has learned, confirming a report in Le Maine Libre newspaper.
It all starts shortly after 11am with a call from a 67-year-old couple from house number “17”, located on Rue Robert-Collet not far from the Carrefour Centre-sud shopping centre. The victims stated that they had just been attacked and beaten by an unknown person who was holding a Quran in his hands and shouting “Allah Akbar”. The couple managed to flee and barely managed to save themselves in their house, being chased by the attacker who allegedly tried to force his way into the house in vain.
He then brutally attacked another victim in the street, a man who was walking on crutches. The BAC police officers were quickly on the scene. They quickly found the suspect, who was in the process of hitting his victim lying on the ground with one of the crutches. Faced with the aggressiveness of the perpetrator and his agitation, the officers used their stun gun to subdue him and arrest him in the La Foir’Fouille shop, which he had just broken into, causing panic among the customers, according to a source familiar with the investigation.
(…) All three victims were injured and taken to hospital. The 67-year-old woman had a bleeding wound on her face and her partner suffered from neck pain. The man, who was beaten while lying on the floor, suffered a fracture to one hand. The full extent of his injuries is not yet clear, but could be significant. Actu 17
