France: A warden is attacked with a knife by an illegal Moroccan detainee who cries “Allah akbar”

An inmate at Château-Thierry prison (Aisne) attacked at least one guard with a knife on Tuesday morning, shouting Allah Akhbar, BFTMV has learned from concurring sources.

The victim was very slightly injured. The accused, a man with Moroccan nationality and legal residence status, is in custody for violent offences and is not yet known to the intelligence services.

According to our information, he seems to have psychological problems. The Soissons public prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation to establish the circumstances of the attack.

The national anti-terrorism prosecutor’s office (Pnat) has been informed of the situation but may not deal with the case given the profile of the perpetrator. BFMTV
