A man wearing a djellaba, armed with a knife and an iron bar, attacked several people on Saturday morning in Yzeron ( population 990), a commune in the west of Lyon (Rhône). On their arrival, the police tried to arrest him, but he resisted. Demands, stun guns … nothing worked. The gendarmes then shot the person.
A motorist was driving on the Route de la Bourchourie, the so-called “Coursière” road that connects Yzeron and Vaugneray. There, a man armed with a knife and an iron bar attacked him by hitting his car. He manages to continue his journey and calls the gendarmerie. The gendarmes then decided to open fire. The Saint-Martin-en-haut fire brigade was quickly on the scene and performed resuscitation measures before the injured man was flown to Lyon Sud by Samu helicopter.
