The attack took place during a serving of canteen food on Friday the 15th of December at the Lille-Sequedin detention centre. Three guards were slightly injured. According to a union representative, the prisoner’s dangerous behaviour had been pointed out for a fortnight.
(…) “The prisoner came towards them with his hands behind his back holding glass,” reports Guillaume Pottier, regional secretary of the trade union Ufap Unsa Justice, who spoke to the victims.
Two other supervisors came to the aid of their colleague to overpower the attacker. A total of three officers were slightly injured, according to the prison administration. One man suffered cuts to his hand and leg. One woman was cut on the wrist. The second woman was bitten on the leg. This information was provided by the union representative.
The detainee is said to have shouted “Allah Akbar” during his attack, according to Guillaume Pottier, based on the narrative reported by the officials. “This is a prisoner who came radicalised to Sequedin prison,” he claims. The prison administration, for its part, only speaks of “mental disorders”. (…)
The prison guards should file a complaint today.
