Véronique had sent Sammy Djedou 65,000 euros. This behaviour has brought 71-year-old Véronique from Brussels to trial in the criminal court for financing terrorism.

The Brussels Criminal Court early Thursday afternoon imposed a three-year suspension of criminal proceedings against Véronique, a 71-year-old woman from Brussels charged with terrorist financing.
She had sent just over 65,500 euros in several transactions to her son, who was fighting in a jihadist group in Syria.
The verdict recognises guilt but does not add a penalty as long as no further offences are committed for three years.
Veronika’s son Sammy Djedou, born in 1989, died on December the 4th 2016, killed in Raqqa, the “capital” of the Islamic State (IS), by shelling from a US drone. The reason was his close relations with Al-Adnani, a high-ranking IS spokesman. He is also said to have been in contact with people closely involved in the planning of the attacks in Belgium and France.
Other parents had also sent money to their children, but never in this amount. The amounts tended to be several hundred euros.
Véronique’s money must have been sent via IS (Islamic State) bagmen, as the bank connections to Syria had been interrupted at that time. It came from an inheritance. Sudinfo.be
