No drugs and ban on smoking in the flat? The visitor is said to have gone completely berserk …
According to the indictment, Abdul B. (30) hit several times with a hammer, then reached for a knife, later for scissors – merely because the host Ralf L. (59) had refused him the consumption of cocaine or heroin in a pipe. Then he stole a smartphone, a watch and a toilet bag and made off.
Since Tuesday, the man from Guinea ( arrived in the country as an asylum seeker) has been standing trial for aggravated robbery and dangerous bodily harm at the Dortmund Regional Court.
On the day of the crime, the victim suffered a laceration to the forehead (stitched with four stitches) and injuries to the hand.
It might have been worse for him, but, according to prosecutor Stefanie Rößler (50): “The victim was able to flee the flat with blood in his eyes, disoriented”. His acquaintance Bettina G. (49) was threatened by Abdul B. with a paring knife.
One day later, the accused struck again, according to the investigation: He tortured a woman with punches to the head in order to extort money or “stones” (drugs). When the victim screamed, the attacker ran away. He is now in custody.
His lawyer Hakan Yilmaz does not consider him a dangerous criminal despite the accusations: “The trial will probably show that my client suffers from a mental illness.”
The victims did not show up for the trial. They are now to be brought to the next trial date by the police. Verdict: probably on September 5.
