Arab clan beats up hospital staff in Essen, Germany

On Friday afternoon ( September 20), there was a physical altercation between visitors and staff at a hospital in Klara-Kopp-Weg. At least six employees were injured. A 41-year-old suspect was arrested. The police are investigating.

At around 3.10 pm, the police control centre was alerted to an altercation at a hospital in Klara-Kopp-Weg. When the officers arrived at the scene, the situation had already calmed down.

Several hospital staff reported that they had been attacked by relatives of a patient. A 23-year-old woman was seriously injured and five other employees were injured. A 41-year-old suspect (Turkish-Lebanese) was arrested.

The police are investigating on suspicion of dangerous bodily harm and damage to property and are investigating whether there could be links to clan crime.
