These are unbelievable scenes: An Algerian climbed a ladder onto the balcony of his ex-girlfriend, broke the window with a stone and then stabbed the young Swedish woman’s new boyfriend. The latter videotaped the crime beforehand. Now the attacker was sentenced to only two years in prison.
Mohammed Amana (26) used a ladder to climb onto the balcony of his Swedish ex-girlfriend’s flat and then smashed the glass door with a stone. The young woman hid in the bathroom while her boyfriend tried to chase the Algerian away – but he stabbed him with a knife.
Amana was arrested after the attack and stated during police questioning that he had heard voices demanding him to enter the flat, but claimed not to be able to remember any further details. However, he denied having stabbed the friend.
However, the male victim videotaped the attack, which took place on May 25 in the small Swedish town of Orrefors in the municipality of Nybro, and published the video as evidence. The perpetrator was nevertheless sentenced to only two years in prison – causing outrage on the internet.
“Two years? That’s not an appropriate sentence. This man didn’t just psychologically hurt his victims…”, posts one user on X (formerly Twitter). “This sentence is ridiculous. I am speechless,” posts another person.
