After the death of a 12-year-old: German town of Cuxhaven restricts Corona vaccination of children

The contradictions of the Corona policy and the vaccination campaign or its implementation are becoming more and more obvious. This is evident these days in Cuxhaven: while in June of this year the vaccination centre there announced that children would only be vaccinated there if they suffered from pre-existing conditions that would make a Corona disease dangerous for them, it is now the other way round. In between, there is a change in the recommendation of the Standing Commission on Vaccination (Stiko) and a tragic death.

As reported by the public broadcaster NDR, it became known last week that a twelve-year-old child died in Cuxhaven two days after the second vaccination dose with Biontech: “The preliminary autopsy protocol suggests that the death was a result of the Corona vaccination”. The boy suffered from heart disease. By the end of September, the Paul Ehrlich Institute had registered five similar suspected cases.

The district administrator of the Cuxhaven district, Kai-Uwe Bielefeld (non-party), explicitly pointed out to NDR that the decision of the parents of the deceased had been in line with the recommendation of the Standing Commission on Vaccination. The commission had changed its recommendation in August and explicitly recommended that 12-17 year olds also be vaccinated against Corona.

Shortly afterwards, last Friday, the NDR reported: “From now on, only children without known pre-existing conditions should be vaccinated in schools in the district. All other children should go to their family doctor for vaccination, as he or she knows better about possible pre-existing conditions, it is said.”
