Tragic end of a Christmas party in the Burgenland: A Syrian (18) allegedly knocked down two men with punches. The father of two, Jürgen Trimmel (42), has now been declared brain dead. The refugee is in custody.
Family father Jürgen Trimmel (42) was on a club excursion with friends when the group decided to stop by a Christmas party at a disco in Schattendorf. There, shortly after midnight, things turned violent.
After a verbal argument, an asylum seeker from Syria, who lives in the district of Neunkirchen, attacked the father of the family and his friend. As if out of his mind, he beat the men with both fists.
While his work colleague suffered a broken nose, Jürgen Trimmel was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where doctors fought for his life in the intensive care unit. In vain. The father of two children (seven and ten years old) was declared brain dead on Tuesday – just four days before Christmas Eve. The Syrian refugee was arrested and is now in custody.
