He was arrested last Thursday in Rue de la Roquette (11th arrondissement). As he is an Indian citizen, he had to be admitted to prison during his police custody. He was then taken to an administrative detention centre with a view to his deportation.
(…) With this video in their possession, the XIe police officers obtained authorisation from the Paris Public Prosecutor’s Office to go further and launch an investigation, which included an examination of the video. This was to determine all the elements that could lead to the identification of the man.
Despite the poor quality of the night video, they manage to establish a fairly accurate description of the man, mainly because he is wearing clothes that make him identifiable. The description of the suspect was given to the police officers and patrols drove around the district to find him.
(…) When he was released from prison, he was picked up again, issued with an OQTF ( obligation to leave French territory) and taken to the Centre de rétention administrative (CRA) Vincennes (XII district) where he is now awaiting deportation. Le Parisien
