First Shadi B. ( age 28) slaughtered a young woman in her front garden, then he calmly dined on bratwurst with fries in a mountain restaurant at 2000 metres above sea level!
On Tuesday morning at around 7 am, Shadi B. had picked up the Ukrainian woman Alina (age 21) in front of her flat in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. He stabbed her in the front garden.
The two know each other, they live in the same refugee hostel in the heart of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Alina was on her way to a hotel where she works as a chambermaid when Shadi B. seriously injured her on the entrance to the boarding house.
After the bloody crime, the Jordanian fled on a silver bicycle. A large police force searched for him for hours without success.
Only a public search with photos of the suspect brought success.
Andrew Syme (51), landlord of the Alpspitz restaurant (2050 metres above sea level), saw the APB on the internet that evening and recognised Shadi B. – as the guest who had eaten fried sausage and chips costing 9.20 euros in his mountain restaurant shortly after the gruesome crime!
“I noticed him because of his strange order so early in the morning,” the landlord told the newspaper BILD. In the afternoon, around 3 p.m., the young man came again and ordered fried sausage again. “That was strange, but we didn’t think anything of it”.
When the landlord went home, the young man was still hanging around at the mountain station of the Alpspitzbahn. “When I recognised him later on the internet, I of course informed the police.
Police officers then drove up to the restaurant with four-wheel drive vehicles and searched the building. In a storage room for blankets, the officers discovered the suspect, who was arrested without resistance.
Landlord Andrew Syme is stunned: “We are in shock. When you imagine that he almost killed a woman and then relaxed in our restaurant,” he said.
The suspect, Shadi B., is now in custody.
