As reported by the newspaper “Heute”, an 18-year-old woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by an unknown youth in a public toilet facility. After the assault, two youths allegedly robbed the woman of her handbag including her mobile phone. The suspects fled. The young woman filed a complaint and her mother used her own mobile phone to locate her daughter’s mobile phone.
It turned out that the phone that had been stolen at Praterstern was probably at the police station Am Hauptbahnhof. The officers informed about this immediately searched all persons in the guard room. The mobile phone of the 18-year-old was found in the possession of a Syrian ( aged 12). At about 7.20 p.m., the 12-year-old stopped a passing police car in the area of Laxenburger Straße and told the officers that he had just been threatened by a young man with a knife.
The Syrian told the police that the suspect had demanded cash from him. The officers were able to stop the fugitive, a Syrian ( aged 15), immediately. During a search, the officers found the knife and seized it.
The 12-year-old had come to the police station Am Hauptbahnhof as a victim of the robbery with two witnesses when the 18-year-old’s mobile phone was located on him. He and one of the two witnesses, also a Syrian ( aged 12), could be clearly identified as suspects for the robbery at Praterstern, according to the police. The two children were handed over to their legal guardians. As far as the sexual abuse is concerned, the ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Provincial Criminal Police Office, Eastern Centre Branch.
