A 21-year-old man from Bordeaux, already known for similar incidents, was arrested late on Saturday afternoon, October 22. He was taken into police custody for “glorifying terrorism”.
His clamour frightened passers-by. At around 6.30pm on Saturday October 22, a young man began shouting threatening phrases in the main shopping street in the centre of Bordeaux, Rue Sainte-Catherine, which was still crowded a few minutes before closing time. He shouted: “Join the Islamic State!” and “The infidels must have their throats cut!”.
The police, who were called in, quickly intervened. The 21-year-old man from Bordeaux, who came from a modest family, was arrested and taken into police custody for “glorifying terrorism”. He was still in police custody on Sunday evening, October 23, after his detention had been extended. Ouest-France
