A 53-year-old man, who was particularly aggressive, had committed a series of damages to a church in Toulouse on Sunday August 21. He also allegedly insulted a priest who was present in the church, Actu.fr reported on Tuesday August 23.
As reported, it was shortly after 8pm when the man stormed out of the church in a rage on Sunday August 21. On his way, he encountered the priest, whom he then insulted. The aggressive man claimed to have vandalised the church and then left.
After observing this shocking incident, two people decided to pursue the man so that he could not escape. When the priest entered the church, he discovered that the church had been badly damaged in the last few minutes. Actu.fr reports that vases, tables and other objects had been damaged. Candles had also been thrown near wooden objects. Fortunately, no fire broke out.
The man, who was already known to the police, was taken into police custody. According to media reports, he admitted to being the author of the damage to property. The diocese decided to file a complaint before estimating the damage at 1,000 euros.
