The incident happened on Saturday evening at the Lake Max Eyth in Stuttgart district of Mühlhausen, as the prosecutor’s office and police reported on Monday.
A 24-year-old woman met there with several acquaintances. Among them was also the 24-year-old suspect.
The latter is said to have continuously hit on the woman since meeting her in the evening and sought physical contact with her, although she made the 24-year-old understand that she was not interested in him.
“In the process, he allegedly not only verbally harassed her, but also groped her several times,” according to a press release.
Around 10:40 p.m., the young woman decided to leave. Thereupon, the suspect allegedly first poured hot barbecue coals over her legs.
As if that were not enough, when she ran away, he allegedly chased her and tried to pull her into a bush. “Passers-by heard the woman’s screams and came to her aid, whereupon the suspect let go of her and fled.”
A short time later, officers arrested the Syrian and took him to the police station, where he went on a rampage in the cell and, according to his own statements, injured himself.
After a precautionary examination at the hospital, the officers took him to police custody, where he continued to threaten the officers deployed. At the request of the public prosecutor’s office, the 24-year-old was brought before a magistrate on Sunday and is now in custody.
