The children had told their mothers about the incident. According to the public prosecutor’s office, the women then contacted the head of the security service. On the same day, the Afghan national was temporarily arrested and brought before a magistrate on Tuesday. The arrival centre in Meßstetten has been accommodating people who have fled the war in Ukraine since March.
Investigations are also underway against a member of the security staff at the initial reception centre in Sigmaringen. During an altercation between refugees and security staff, the man allegedly punched a man who was fixed on the ground several times in the face. According to the police, an altercation developed out of a check at the initial reception centre. Security staff had searched a 39-year-old resident for unauthorised alcohol. This led to a scuffle.
