A 21-year-old woman was charged and detained for trying to kill police officers at Lariboisière Hospital in Paris (Xe) on May 5. It is a strange case that has been investigated by the anti-terrorist justice system without any jihadist trail being investigated so far.

When the young woman was taken into police custody, she turned out to be particularly threatening. To the investigators of the 2nd district of the Criminal Investigation Department, Magassa O. fully admitted her attacks on the officers she had met at the hospital. She even claimed that she had wanted to “shoot at the police officers” and had first gone for the “weakest” policewoman in order to “hurt her”.

Another element emerges from the young woman’s hearings: her deep-rooted hatred of the police. During her pre-trial detention, Magassa O. admitted several times that she was driven to commit the crime by intensively watching videos of police violence.
