Against Jews and the Occident: Viennese bookshop sells Islamist literature

In the Vienna bookshop of a functionary of the Islamist movement “Milli Görüs”, one can buy writings by Holocaust deniers and extremist preachers who call for suicide bombings and rage against the Occident.

The Islamist movement “Milli Görüs” runs mosques, schools and kindergartens throughout Austria and Germany, and in Turkey they founded the Saadet Party. Those who are interested in their ideological ideas will find what they are looking for in a bookshop in Vienna’s 15th district (Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus). MGV-Publications is the name of the shop and it also has an online shop. At the same address is the headquarters of the European section of the Milli Görüs Youth Organisation (AGD), and the AGD founding chairman Arif Sen is the manager of that library.

Anyone looking for extremist authors will quickly find what they are looking for here, as the newspaper “Volksblatt” reports. There is a rich selection here. Available, for example, are the writings of Milli Görüs founder Necmettin Erbakan, who declares war on the West and spreads anti-Semitic conspiracy theories in works such as “Adil Düzen” (“Just Order”) and his autobiography “Davam”.

Likewise, one can buy works translated into Turkish by the French Holocaust denier Roger Garaudy. The former communist, who converted to Islam at the age of 69, authored writings such as “The Israeli Problem” and “Israel Myths and Terror”, which are not only sold but also advertised by the MGV library, stating that their “sale has been banned in the USA and Europe”.Important masterminds of the Muslim Brotherhood are also welcome, such as its founder Hasan al-Banna, who is advertised with the following words: “He is a glorious pioneer who set out in all fields with the aim of Islamisation.” The terrorist organisation Hamas is the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood. Also available here – as always in Turkish – is “Milestones”, the main work of the Muslim Brother Sayyid Qutb, executed in Egypt in 1966, which was the central source of inspiration for all Islamist terrorist organisations.

Not to be left out is the chief ideologue of the Muslim Brotherhood, Yusuf al-Qaradawi: the well-known Qatar-based preacher described the Holocaust as “Allah’s way of devastating revenge” on the Jews. Because the Jews allegedly spread corruption, they would have left the rulers no choice but to destroy them. And he anticipates another holocaust in the future: “God willing, the next time this [God’s punishment] will be at the hands of the believers.” Moreover, he calls the Jews enemies of Allah.

20 books penned by Quaradawi are available in the bookshop, including “Fatwas for Palestine”, which deals, among other things, with “martyrdom operations against the Zionist enemy of occupation”. Quaradawi is known for condoning suicide bombings against Israel.

You can also buy writings by the Saudi Islamist Muhammed al-Arifi here. He preaches against Jews, homosexuals, infidels – and advocates the corporal punishment of wives. Because of his extremist messages, he has been banned from entering the Schengen area since 2012.

The ambience of the library is inviting in itself: if you know Turkish language, you can make yourself comfortable here on comfortable armchairs and with tea. Enquiries from the “Volksblatt” regarding the extremist assortment have not yet been answered.
