In a statement released on Friday, the Spanish National Police announced that a Moroccan man has been arrested in Cambrils (Tarragona) in north-eastern Spain for his suspected membership of the terrorist organisation Daech.
According to initial findings by the Spanish authorities, the accused was involved in recruiting and indoctrinating third parties for Daech, mainly via social networks.
The arrested man also had regular contact with terrorists who were in war zones in the Middle East, Spanish police report. He also glorified the Islamic State terrorist organisation by spreading jihadist content and executions of Daech on the internet. 2m.ma
The suspected jihadist arrested by the National Police in Cambrils last Wednesday fits one of the most difficult profiles to identify, according to counter-terrorism experts: a labourer – in this case a simple farm worker – with a largely routine life who had few personal relationships with Muslim communities. However, when he was in the room where he lived “highly radicalised” , he spent his time spreading extremely cruel jihadist content showing executions. La Vanguardia
