Police in Brussels have launched an urgent manhunt after a shooting took place near one of the Belgian capital’s metro stations.

Authorities are said to be hunting down a suspect in the underground service’s tunnels after a shooting near Clemenceau station in Anderlecht, in the city’s southwest.

CCTV footage from the scene shows at least two men wearing balaclavas and carrying what look to be Kalashnikov rifles at the entrance of the station early on Wednesday – with a video clip showing an exchange of fire at about 6.15am local time.

Meanwhile, reports in Belgian media suggest the gunmen may have been involved in a drug-dealing dispute.

Brussels-Midi station, the terminal for Eurostar trains from London, has been shut alongside Clemenceau.

Meanwhile, two metro lines in central Brussels have also been suspended – including one which runs close to the European Parliament.

Thousands of commuters have been impacted by the incident, which took place at the height of the morning rush hour.

It comes less than a day after at least 11 people were killed in a mass shooting in Sweden – the deadliest such attack in the country’s history.

Regional authorities said six victims had been treated in hospital – four women and two men.

Five of them had required surgery for gunshot wounds and remained in serious condition, their statement said.

Local media reports indicate the shooter was an unemployed man aged around 35 who had a hunting licence – but police have said there was no evidence of “ideological motives” behind the killings.

There is great disappointment: the annual carnival parade in Kempten in the Allgäu region with around 15,000 visitors has been cancelled at short notice. The reason: following the Christmas market attack in Magdeburg, in which six people lost their lives and 300 were injured, the ‘Kemptner Gaudiwurms’ could only take place with increased security measures.

However, the additional costs that this would entail would not be affordable for the organiser, the carnival guild Rottach 97 Kempten e.V.. Specifically, concrete blocks would be needed to secure all the parade routes at the access roads. This would double the costs to 50,000 euros.

‘Islamist terrorism has thus achieved its goal in Germany of making the non-commercial organisation of events that bring joy to thousands of people, families and children impossible in many places, especially in the city of Kempten,’ the association states on its Facebook page.

The Rottach 97 Kempten carnival guild blames the ‘political leaders’ in Berlin, who are ‘not taking any responsibility’ but are ‘clinging’ to office and taking ‘thousands of euros of our tax money’, writes the association, which appears to be pissed off. The fact that the carnival parade has been cancelled means a financial loss for the association. The carnival guild even speaks of its existence being jeopardised.

The city of Kempten suggested a smaller version of the carnival parade to the organisation, which would not require the elaborate security measures. However, the organiser rejected this, as reported by the radio station AllgäuHIT. The town is encouraging citizens disappointed by the cancellation to help out so that the parade can take place again next year.

NCF Director Peter Whittle joined GB News to discuss news that Labour’s Deputy PM Angela Rayner is establishing an Islamophobia council to create a new definition of Islamophobia which could potentially criminalize legitimate criticism of Islam and issues such as cousin marriage and grooming gangs.

The most recent poll in Spain, published by the local daily El País, shows that the national conservative VOX has surged in popularity since the 2023 general elections, while both big establishment blocs—the ruling Socialist Party (PSOE) and the center-right Partido Popular (PP)—are steadily losing support.

VOX is a member of the Patriots for Europe (PfE) group and the third-largest party in the Spanish parliament after receiving 12% during the last election, in July 2023. According to the latest surveys, the nationalist party has been improving its results for several months in a row, and is now polling at 14.2% for the first time since the election.

Furthermore, VOX’s support is only expected to grow further, as the party’s popularity is primarily driven by the younger generations: it’s the most popular party among voters aged 18 to 34. Among 18 to 24-year-olds, in particular, it stands at 27.4%—far above the socialists’ 15% and the center-right’s 11%.

“VOX continues to grow and consolidate its position as the leading force among young people,” the party wrote on X. “The future is ours.”

At the same time, the establishment is having a tough time keeping its existing voters, especially on the Left. Plagued with one corruption scandal after another, Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez’s PSOE (S&D) is polling only at 28.4%, or more than three points less compared to its result at the last election. It’s the number one pick only among voters older than 55. 

The PP is declining, although losing only half a point since the election and still leading the polls with 32.6%. The center-right party’s primary demographic is even older than the socialists, beating the PSOE only among those older than 65. 

Moreover, the study also shows that PP lost 9% of its 2023 voters to VOX, a trend that could reorganize Spain’s political landscape in a few years if it continues at the current pace.

However, the biggest decrease was measured in the popularity of the far-left Sumar (The Left/Greens), the socialists’ junior coalition partner, which has lost over half of its voters since the 2023 elections and dropped from 12.4% to only 5.9%, even though it began gradually rising lately.

Podemos, which split from Sumar after the elections is polling at 3.4%, while the other conservative SALF (ECR) has dropped below the 3% parliamentary threshold with just 2.5%.

VOX’s surge in the polls could also be supported by the party’s growing international recognition. Last year, VOX leader Santiago Abascal was elected as the president of the Patriots.eu, the political party behind the Patriots group in the EU Parliament. Later this week, Abascal will host other Patriot leaders—including France’s Marine Le Pen (RN) and Hungarian PM Viktor Orbán (Fidesz)—at a major rally in Madrid, dedicated to ‘making Europe great again.’

A shocking case has emerged from the beautiful town of Oberneufnach in Bavaria, which involved a 52-year-old Turkish asylum seeker allegedly breaking into a stable and sexually abusing ponies.

The man, who is from a refugee shelter in the nearby town of Anhofen, was arrested after he was caught on surveillance video.

The man broke into the horse farm at 6:45 p.m. while the family was having dinner. They heard the dog barking and then looked on surveillance monitors, where they saw the man in the stable with his pants down on top of one of the animals.

The boyfriend then ran to the stables to chase down the man, but he had already fled the scene. He continued his pursuit of the suspect though and eventually caught him. Police arrived and placed the man under arrest.

“He climbed over a fence and ran towards the center of the village,” the woman told Bild. A veterinarian was called to examine the animals.

Once the video footage was reviewed, it showed the man had sexually abused multiple female ponies in the course of 25 minutes. Several of the ponies suffered physical injuries, including one that collapsed to the ground.

She also said that the migrant “abused several ponies routinely.” Police say that despite the perpetrator knowing the cameras were installed, he was not deterred.

Police are investigating the man with charges of trespassing and violating the Animal Welfare Act, but the man was not placed in detention. Only his personal details were recorded.

According to Bild, people are fearful over the fact that the man is still on the loose.

“On Saturday the man was wandering through our village again. I’m scared. Especially for children and animals. Because the police say: ‘That’s not enough for prison or deportation.’” said the woman.

As Remix News has reported in the past, ponies and horses have been targeted in other attacks.

In 2023, police sought a suspect after he was caught on a surveillance camera raping a pony at a stable south of Harburg. The 18-year-old pony, which is named “Carrie,” was abused by the man at 1 a.m., with footage showing the man calmly walking onto the property and starting to attack the defenseless animal.

In 2017, a Syrian migrant raped a pony in broad daylight at Berlin’s Görlitzer Park’s petting zoo.

“My babysitter was out with our son in Görlitzer Park. They witnessed the man sexually assault the pony,” one woman told Berliner Morgenpost at the time. The babysitter took a photo of the man as he raped the pony and provided it to police. The migrant was banned from the petting zoo in response, but it is unclear if he was ever charged by police.

The man tried to snatch the weapon from a police officer who was in front of the police prefecture. He was overpowered and taken into police custody.
A man tried to attack a police officer by grabbing his weapon outside the Paris Prefecture of Police on Tuesday the 4th of February. Shortly before 1pm, three police officers from the BRF (Brigade des Réseaux Ferrés) guarding the Rue de la Cité were attacked by a man who came running towards them.

He tried to take the handgun on the belt of one of the policemen. When the policemen tried to subdue him, the man, who was carrying a piece of a broken mirror, punched one of the policemen in the face. They brought him to the ground, where he again tried to take one of their weapons. One of the police officers suffered a cut to his hand and another sustained a fracture to a finger.

The man was taken into police custody and the injured officers were taken to hospital for treatment. The man was taken to the Central Police Station where he is being examined by a psychiatrist.

He claimed to be a Sudanese national and his identity is currently being verified. The Paris Public Prosecutor’s Office has handed over the investigation to the Judicial Police Directorate. The anti-terrorism prosecutor’s office is examining the case, as it revealed to BFMTV.

A trans-identified male in Argentina has been arrested following a months-long undercover operation into his clandestine bar and brothel. Carolina Juárez was reportedly the owner of the secretive business, where multiple exploited women and a young girl were forced to sell sex.

The investigation into Juárez was first launched in October of last year by the National Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DDI), Argentina’s law enforcement body in charge of managing investigations into organized crime, complex crime, and federal crimes. Through tips, authorities became aware of an unlicensed, private bar being operated out of a secretive commercial space in the Buenos Aires municipality of La Costa.

But detectives quickly learned that the illegal bar was also operating as a brothel, with several exploited women being forced to sell sex by Juárez. Local prosecutor Walter Mercuri then instructed police to go undercover and infiltrate the bar, with detectives having to pose as customers and contact Juárez via WhatsApp to gain access to the premises.

⁠The undercover agents visited the bar periodically over two months to collect hidden camera footage and recorded evidence of illegal activities. During the course of the investigation, the agents discovered that Juárez was also prostituting a young girl, offering her to pedophile clients through private WhatsApp groups.

On January 26, the DDI raided the bar and arrested Juárez and a number of his male clients. The minor was rescued and has brought for medical and psychological treatment.

Juárez was charged with the promotion and facilitation of prostitution of children under 18, and his devices have been seized for further forensic examination.

During his arrest, Juárez was searched and escorted by female police officers, suggesting he will be treated as a “woman” by investigators.

Juárez is one of a number of trans-identified males in Argentina who have been arrested after forcing women or children into prostitution. As previously reported by Reduxx in 2022, a prominent trans-identified “sex worker” was arrested on charges of sexually victimizing 30 people, some of whom were minors. Daniel Ariel Araya Segura, better known as Paloma León, kept the victims in slave-like conditions, where they were forced to be available to sell sexual services 24 hours a day. The victims were routinely threatened, beaten, and even had their government social assistance checks stolen by León.

Argentina is considered one of the most “trans friendly” countries in the world, and was one of the first nations to introduce comprehensive gender self-identification laws.

In 2012, it passed the Gender Identity Law, allowing individuals to change their legal sex on official documents without requiring surgery or judicial approval. The law also mandated access to hormone therapy and “gender-affirming care” as part of universal health coverage. In 2021, the senate passed the Diana Sacayán–Lohana Berkins Law, which established that the national public sector must reserve at least 1% of its positions and vacancies for trans people.

Salwan Najem, an Islam-critic whose fellow Quran-burning activist Salwan Momika was shot dead on January 29 in Stockholm, has been convicted of incitement against an ethnic group.

According to the Stockholm district court on February 3, Najem “expressed contempt for the Muslim ethnic group” and “exceeded free-speech protections by a wide margin”.

This went beyond a fair debate and critique of religion, the court found.

It did, though, also note that burning the Quran might not always be regarded as a hate crime and that it did not have any extra protection just because it was a sacred text for Muslims.

“There is a wide scope within the framework of freedom of expression to be critical of a religion in a factual and objective debate,” chief Judge Göran Lundahl said in a statement on the court’s website.

“At the same time, expressing one’s opinion about religion does not give one a free pass to do or say anything and everything without risking offending the group that holds that belief.”

Najem’s offending statements were made during four public events where Qurans were burned in Stockholm and led to public outrage within the Muslim community in Sweden and Islamic countries worldwide.

Many decried the burnings as blasphemous and an attack on their faith.

Najem was fined 4,000 Swedish Crowns (€450) and given a suspended sentence.

His lawyer has said he would appeal against the verdict, arguing that his client’s statements fell within the scope of criticism of religion, which is covered by the country’s freedom of expression laws.

The court was initially due to rule on the case on January 30 but, hours before revealing its judgment, co-defendant Momika was shot dead in his own apartment, leading to the postponement.

Authorities have yet to charge anyone in relation to his death although five suspects were initially held shortly afterwards before being released.

Ulf Kristersson, the Prime Minister of Sweden, has suggested the shooting might have been connected to a foreign power.

That was possibly because the city of al-Kufa in Iraq offered a prize of $2 million (€1.2 million) and a 2kg gold Quran to anyone who killed Momika. His extradition had also been demanded by the government in Baghdad.

Iran’s intelligence ministry had published a statement linking Momika to the Israeli regime and called him “a Mossad agent”.

Brigadier General Ali Fadavi, the deputy of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), also said he considered the death penalty should be imposed on Quran burners.

Despite testifying that there was a bounty on his head, Momika’s former attorney Anna Roth claimed after the shooting that her client had not received any official protection.

Najem was also an Iraqi-born refugee, who fled to Sweden in 1998 and obtained Swedish citizenship in 2005.

Both he and Momika were staunch critics of Islam, describing it as a dangerous and violent religion.

A mere seven months after his landslide victory, failing PM Starmer is leading a train wreck of a government to the point where, if things continue in this trend, it is not unlikely that he may be forced to call early elections.

Raising taxes insanely, cutting services, freeing dangerous criminals, incarcerating people for memes, mishandling unchecked mass migration and security… the list of failures goes on – not to mention the endless scandals.

So it’s hardly surprising that the common-sense champions, Nigel Farage’s right-wing Reform UK party have now surged past leftist Labour to become the country’s most popular political party in a new poll.

The Reuters report says it’s the ‘first time’ that happens, but the Find Out Now poll from January 22nd already showed Reform leading.

On October 23, a 43-year-old man stabbed a Tunisian after trying to deposit a Quran in a clubhouse in the 20th arrondissement of Paris. He was arrested three months later.
On January 28, a man was arrested in Grenoble for an attempted murder he had committed on October 23 in the 20th arrondissement of Paris, a police source told Valeurs actuelles. On that day, the suspect had gone to the premises of the Autremonde association to deposit a Quran there. Volunteers from the association had tried to stop him, whereupon the suspect stabbed a Tunisian who was a regular at the premises for no apparent reason.
The stab was close to the heart, according to a source familiar with the investigation. The victim, who was still alive, was put on sick leave by the coroner for 15 days. The perpetrator then took back his Quran before leaving the scene.

The police investigation led to the identification of a suspect, a certain George C., 43 years old, born in Martinique, who, according to his own statements, suffers from schizophrenia and was no longer being treated at the time of the offence. The alleged perpetrator, who was taken into police custody after his arrest in Grenoble, admitted to the offences. He also stated that he had reacted to a slight push and had not known the victim before the attempted murder.

In these proceedings, a psychiatric report will be drawn up to determine his capacity for judgement at the time of the crime and thus his criminal responsibility.
