Syrian Arrested After Several Injured in Berlin Stabbing Spree
A man has been arrested after several people were injured Tuesday in an apparent Berlin knife attack, which resulted in two people being hospitalised.
Authorities were called to the scene of a suspected stabbing attack in the Charlottenburg borough of Berlin at around noon.
According to a report from the local BZ newspaper, a man is said to have wildly slashed at people with what is believed to be a knife around the Rewe market on Quedlinburger Street. Several passers-by jumped on the man and detained him until the police arrived.
The attack left several people injured, including two who were sent to hospital.
Police said that there were no indications that the attack was terror-related and suggested that the man may have been mentally disturbed. However, investigations are still at an early stage.
It comes just a little over a week after an attack on a Christmas market in the German town of Magdeburg left five people dead and over 200 injured. A refugee from Saudi Arabia has been charged over the attack in which he allegedly used a car to run people over in the Christmas market.
The suspect, a Syrian national who lives in Sweden, is said to have stabbed his victims with a knife he stole from the supermarket, police said in a statement.

Germany preps for New Year’s Eve as threat of more terror looms large, according to Hungarian security expert
Despite the recent Christmas market attack in Germany creating an immense amount of fear in German society, there are various threats that also arise every year across Europe due to New Year’s Eve celebrations, with Germany especially hard hit, Hungarian security policy expert György Nógrádi told Magyar Nemzet.
“The Magdeburg murders showed that a doctor from Saudi Arabia, one of the richest countries in the world, comes to Germany and is unable to integrate. It is somewhat frustrating, and not only for Germans, that after every such murder by migrants, teddy bears and bouquets of flowers flood German cities, but no decisive change has taken place. German politics is incapable of this,” said Nógrádi.
In the wake of the Magdeburg incident that left five dead, including a child, and scores wounded, German police are preparing for this year’s New Year’s Eve with special security measures, as the country has previously experienced vandalism, fireworks, mass sexual assaults, and robberies on the last day of the year, all mostly committed by migrants.
As Remix News reported, the celebrations in 2022 going into 2023 in Berlin were especially devastating, with millions in damage to vehicles and buildings due to migrant youths. In Berlin alone, 145 individuals were arrested during the rioting and 47 police officers and 15 firefighters were injured.
However, it is not just holidays that are of concern, according to the Hungarian security expert Nógrádi. He says that Germany has fallen victim to a culture of crime for almost a decade now, with the percentage of sexual assaults and other violent acts committed by foreigners far greater than their proportion of the population, which is supported by the data. In fact, in 2023, foreigners made up a record share of criminals, accounting for 41 percent of all criminal suspects.
“The year 2015 brought a mass of migrants that Europe could not deal with, and the migrants stayed here in Europe and Germany,” security policy expert György Nógrádi said. He added that “since the majority of the arriving migrants were unable to integrate, this poses a huge security threat.”
“According to a recent German police report, Syrians commit the most crimes in Germany, and Ukrainians commit the second most crimes,” Nógrádi noted.
The expert also countered the notion of German industry that Syrian migrants are workers when the data indicates anything but. Just recently, Remix News reported on Friedrich Merz, the CDU’s candidate for chancellor, stating outright that two-thirds of Syrians “do not work” and “are overwhelmingly young men.” His comments came in the wake of the collapse of Bashar al-Assad’s government, when many leaders across Europe asked why Syrians should not now “go home.”
Yet another report indicated that nearly half of Syrians in Germany remain dependent on citizen’s benefits nearly a decade after the 2015 asylum wave. Even for those Syrians who are highly integrated, there are difficult humanitarian questions in place, especially when Syria is facing a dire future due to a lack of skilled workers and medical professionals.
As to the chancellor in charge during the 2015-2016 migration crisis, Angela Merkel, also of the CDU party and famous for her policy of “Willkommen” has come out criticizing her party for advocating stricter border controls and staunchly defended her legacy of accepting in so many migrants.
However, Nógrádi says that the Magdeburg attack shows that even someone who has been in Germany for nearly two decades and was in a respected profession can pose a threat. This has raised alarms in Germany and may buoy the AfD party heading into elections However, Nógrádi does not see them gaining any real power, with the status quo remaining after early elections on Feb. 23, despite their success in the polls.
The party is simply considered “unacceptable in German politics,” he said.

The German government has now come out to accuse Musk of ‘trying to meddle in the country’s election campaign’ with his repeated endorsements of AfD.
It’s true that Musk has often weighed in on German politics, even calling the failed outgoing chancellor, Olaf Scholz, a ‘fool’ on his social media platform X last month – but that’s the nature of the game they themselves play.
Musk wrote on X earlier this month: ‘Only the AfD can save Germany’.
He followed up at the weekend with an op-ed in Die Welt saying that Germany teeters on the brink of economic and cultural collapse, and rightfully defending the AfD against accusations of radicalism.
“Politicians from across the political spectrum criticized Musk’s attempts to put his thumb on the scales of German democracy, with the health minister, Karl Lauterbach, of Scholz’s Social Democratic party (SPD) calling his intervention ‘undignified and highly problematic’ and Merz saying it was ‘intrusive and presumptuous’.
Merz told the Funke media group: ‘I cannot recall in the history of western democracies a comparable case of interference in the election campaign of a friendly country’.”
Cannot recall? Hey Merz, you have such bad memory – but we remember it all.

Vienna to keep plaque commemorating Stalin
A plaque on a house in Vienna’s 12th district (photo) commemorating Soviet dictator Josef Stalin will not be removed for the time being, the local council has announced.
In its December session, the district council voted down a request by the right-wing Freedom Party (FPÖ) to remove the memorial. The proposal was rejected with the votes of the Social Democrats (SPÖ), Greens and Communists.
The marble plaque was put up in 1949 for Stalin’s 70th birthday on a building at Schönbrunner Schloßstraße 30. It shows a bronze portrait of the Soviet dictator and reads: “In this house JW Stalin lived in January 1913. Here he wrote the important work Marxism and the National Question.”
Stalin had visited Vienna in 1913 to see how different nationalities lived together in the multi-ethnic Habsburg monarchy.
The plaque is the only remaining monument to Stalin in the Western world according to the historical society Wien Geschichte Wiki. Most others were removed down after the end of Communism in Eastern Europe in 1989.
Stalin is now remembered as a brutal dictator who caused the deaths of at the least nine million, maybe up to 60 million people. In 2012, a smaller plaque commemorating Stalin’s victims was put up below the 1949 memorial.
In November 2024, the FPÖ submitted a request to the council to remove the plaque. “The City of Vienna has to denounce Stalin’s crimes and immediately remove the memorial plaque”, said Maximilian Krauss, head of FPÖ in Vienna. That followed a revelation that Andreas Babler, current leader of the SPÖ and potentially Austria’s next Vice Chancellor, had co-authored a book called Stamokap Today in which he glorified Stalin and his economic policies.
After the alliance of SPÖ, Greens and Communists voted down the removal of the plate, Krauss called the decision scandalous. “Vienna Mayor Michael Ludwig should reflect on his position. It is inconceivable that Vienna as a City of Human Rights tolerates a memorial plaque for Stalin,” he said.
Despite the vote, on December 19, the city government announced it would “explore options and possible actions” on how to deal with the plaque.
The Stalin plaque is just one of several controversial monuments to Communist figures that dot Vienna. In 2008, a bronze bust of Che Guevara was erected in the Donaupark recreation area, initiated by the Austrian-Cuban Society.
Its inauguration was attended by then-mayor Michael Häupl and other SPÖ grandees. The inscription on the statue reads: “Solidarity is the tenderness of nations.”
During the Cuban civil war, Guevara was responsible for the deaths of at least 216 people.
Elsewhere, the largest city-owned social housing complex in Vienna still bears the name Karl-Marx-Hof, despite the tens or hundreds of millions of people who fell victim to the Marxist ideology.
The biggest Communist memorial in Vienna is the “Monument to the Heroes of the Red Army” in the heart of the city.
It features 26 columns and a 20 metre tall central pillar crowned by a statue of a Soviet soldier. While there have been calls to dismantle the monument after the fall of the Soviet Union, politicians maintain that Austria agreed to keep and maintain the monument in the 1955 deal with the Allied forces that helped restore Austrian independence.

Police Were Warned of Gaps in Christmas Market Security Weeks Before Attack, Says Leaked Email
Investigation into how the Germany Christmas market attack was allowed to happen descends into bickering and finger-pointing, as newspaper reveals the car-sized gaps in security were known about weeks in advance.
A representative of the Magdeburg city municipal company that runs its annual Christmas market had written to local police three weeks before December’s fatal attack to point out problems, an alleged leaked email said to have been seen by the Volksstimme newspaper claims. The publication states the email refers to the security plan made for the Christmas market, given German authorities know well their annual festivities are a prominent target for attacks, and states the police side of arrangements wasn’t being adhered to.
Referring to the security plan having emergency vehicle accesses to the centre of the market to allow access for police, ambulance, and fire engines in case of an incident but those routes having to be closed off by a parked police vehicle otherwise, the council employee states those police vehicles are frequently absent.
They are reported to have written: “In the area of Hartstrasse, the vehicles are sometimes parked in the wrong position,… I spoke to my colleagues politely and they told me that they had no information about the operation here.”
The email is said to have received no response. It is further stated the market’s security concept was inspected prior to the event opening, but that inspection failed to notice deficiencies, including car-sized gaps between the so-called ‘diversity barriers’ ringing the site not being secured with thick steel chains. Volksstimme stated: “when the market opened, there were wide gaps between the concrete barriers that were supposed to protect the entrances and escape routes.”
In the event, access to the market had been left so wide-open the alleged attacker was able to drive in the market at one end, and then straight out of the other — at the Hartstrasse mentioned in the leaked email — without being stopped, and after having killed five and injured over 200, dozens of them critically.
Damning as the email may seem, Germany’s Bild notes a Magdeburg police representative totally rejected responsibility for the Christmas market, a situation the paper characterised as “everyone is blaming each other”.
The police spokesman told Bild: “The organizer is fundamentally responsible for security at the Christmas market” and that if the city had wanted to be able to control access to the market at four emergency access points, they should have erected lockable security gates rather than rely on the police.
As previously reported, the police being involved in blocking those entrances was nevertheless part of the plan police had agreed to and their own security documents referred to “mobile police barriers” being in place.
Protests by the police they are innocent in the matter appear to have already been dismissed as being potentially without foundation, however, as the local state government has already laid criminal charges against the local force and market organiser for an alleged failure to stop a preventable attack.

Five people were killed, including a nine-year-old boy and four adult women last week when a man drove a high-powered BMW car through the Christmas market in Magdeburg, Saxony-Anhalt, eastern Germany. A 50-year-old male suspect, said to be an ex-Muslim with a history of threats against Germany is in police custody.
The security of Christmas markets has been a major topic in Germany for years since the 2016 Berlin attack, in which Tunisian “refugee” Anis Amri drove a stolen truck at high speed into crowds at the city’s Christmas market. Indeed, even before this Western intelligence agencies knew the Islamic State was pushing its agents in Europe to specifically target Christmas events and markets. American tourists were advised a month before the attack to avoid crowded places during the festive season due to the ISIS threat.
A special committee on the attack is meeting today at the German interior ministry. Among those attending are the Federal interior minister, the head of the federal criminal police, the vice president of the federal political police, and the mayor of Magdeburg.
UK: Hundreds of trans hospital patients with conditions only suffered by men admitted as women
Hundreds of transgender hospital patients were recorded as female in NHS records despite having medical conditions that only affect biological males, new analysis has revealed.
Data from hospitals in England and Wales suggests that 482 patients were logged as women despite being admitted with prostate, testicle or penis-related conditions in the year to March.
The figures emerged from analysis of hospital admissions data, highlighting cases where patients with male-specific medical issues were documented under female gender markers, The Sun reports.
The largest group among these cases involved 263 patients who were admitted with prostate hyperplasia, a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland that cannot occur in biological women.
A further 85 patients were recorded as female despite being treated for prostate cancer.
The data also revealed 48 cases involving “disorders of male genitals” where patients were logged as women in hospital records.
Current NHS rules permit transgender patients to have their gender changed on databases while maintaining separate patient records.
“There’s pressure on staff not to offend patients,” one GP told The Sun.
The same GP added: “But the fact they are recorded as women in the statistics is ridiculous.”
The recording of gender identity in hospital statistics has raised questions about medical record-keeping practices within the NHS system.
Conservative MP Sir John Hayes responded to the findings, stating: “You cannot change biology.”
“It is an immutable fact that these conditions only appear in biological men,” he added.
Hayes further criticised the health service’s approach, saying: “The fact the NHS is pandering to this is nonsense.”
In response to the findings, an NHS spokesperson said: “These statistics report the gender registered by patients and therefore include trans women, with further patient details included in their health records.”

Prior to kickoff, a moment of silence was observed for the victims of the recent attack at the Magdeburg Christmas market.
The December 22 attack featured five killed (including 9-year-old Andre Gleissner) and hundreds injured allegedly by an Arab in the latest Christmas market mayhem inflicted by foreigners imported from Muslim lands to displace the German population.
During the moment of silence, the thought criminal shouted, “Germany belongs to the Germans.”
The crowd reportedly shouted him down, denouncing him as a Nazi for daring to hold this sentiment. Then,
The 57-year-old fan who made the racist comment was escorted from the stadium by police and banned from attending future matches. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
Let’s hope he avoids jail time.

WTF ?! ‘Mecca Security’ was hired to protect Christmas market in Magdeburg
Following the attack on the Magdeburg Christmas market, new details about the security concept for the Christmas market have come to light. According to this, the company Mekka Security GmbH was responsible for securing the Christmas market with mobile patrols, as reported by the newspaper Bild.
Depending on the day of the week and time of day, a different number of employees were scheduled. From Sunday to Thursday, only two security guards were hired from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., from 5 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. four security guards were on duty. At the time of the attack, on a Friday at 19:00, six Mekka Security employees were scheduled. These six employees were supposed to secure the entire Christmas market with thousands of visitors and would also have been responsible for guarding the escape routes.
A six-metre-wide gap was left between two concrete barriers to allow emergency services access to the site. According to the security concept, this gap should only have been four metres wide and should have been closed with a steel chain and then opened when rescue workers needed to enter the site. The attacker Taleb al-Abdulmohsen took advantage of this open gap to kill five people at the Christmas market in a BMW car and injure hundreds more.
Security would also have been responsible for opening and closing the escape gap. It remains unclear how they were supposed to both monitor and ensure the safety of the Christmas market with the limited number of staff. It is also questionable whether it was even planned to place a steel chain on the concrete blocks to protect against attacks. Because in order to be able to place this steel chain between the concrete bollards, the concrete bollards would have needed eyelets. And these eyelets were not available.
This safety concept may still have legal repercussions for the city of Magdeburg. The entire concept, with far too few security personnel, had to be authorised by the city. In the meantime, several complaints have been filed against those responsible from the city of Magdeburg and the police because of the blatant shortcomings.

They forced him to bark like a dog and called him a ‘Swedish whore’.
They then raped him by shoving a stick up his anus.
He is not allowed a visit from the Swedish monarch.
As in France, presidential visits are reserved for racist offenders who resist arrest by insulting and threatening the police.
