UK assisted suicide bill would unleash a culture of death across British society
The recently released 38-page UK Assisted Suicide Bill, and correspondent 22-page guidance, would allow the state to participate in deliberately ending lives. The results of the Bill, named the “Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill,” would be catastrophic for all of society, and in particular vulnerable individuals. As the second reading of the Bill looms in the House of Commons, scheduled for November 29, it’s imperative that the United Kingdom take stock of the consequences for the protection of human life in the country.
The headline is that this Bill would be highly dangerous for vulnerable people, extremely problematic for medical professionals, and ultimately, unleash a culture of death across British society. That is not speculation; it is the logical conclusion after comparing the bill with its relatives already in force in a handful of other countries.
Before we dive into the text of the Bill, the two main reasons for this conclusion are as follows:
- You can’t make the lawful killing of people “safe.” The clear evidence from other countries is that so-called safeguards cannot prevent abuses, and
- Every jurisdiction that has gone down this route has very quickly seen an increase in numbers and come under pressure to drop certain “safeguards” and expand the qualifying criteria. For example, in 2014, Belgium dropped its lower age limit allowing the euthanasia of children.
What does the Bill legalize? It legalizes deliberate ending of life where a person has capacity, is 18+, registered with a GP, has been resident in England or Wales for 12 months+, has a “clear, settled and informed wish” to end their life that is voluntary, and is expected to die within 6 months.
They must request it from a doctor (or a doctor can raise the possibility) and get signed off by two doctors and the High Court and can then receive lethal drugs that they must administer themselves (though they can have help if they want or need it).
With regard to the inherent problems with assisted suicide/euthanasia, first, predicting someone’s death date is notoriously difficult. An analysis of 16 years of research shows that doctors got it wrong more than half the time.
For doctors, the Bill places an obligation upon them to refer someone seeking assisted suicide to another doctor “[s/he] believes is willing and able…” For a doctor who sees this as unethical, or knows their patient and their vulnerability, the Bill coerces them to act in a specific way—a clear violation of their rights of conscience.
Further, the Bill requires a second “independent” doctor to sign off on the life-ending act. In countries that have legalized assisted suicide/euthanasia, there is a relatively small pool of doctors who do this, and they know each other and cross-refer.
Section 8(1) requires a gap of 7 days between first and second doctor approvals. The bill then requires a 14-day waiting period after the High Court approves. So, in three short weeks you can legally go from never thinking about this before to dead.
And if one doctor thinks you will die within a month, the total minimum period from start to finish is 9 days.
A few glimmers of this dark reality come through in the Bill. For example, section 9(2)(c) requires doctors to discuss with the person “their wishes in the event of complications,” which we know can and do happen.
Section 30 allows (but does not require) the government to issue a code of practice on “recognising and taking into account the effects of depression or other mental disorders…”
The Bill requires a report after five years assessing “the availability, quality and distribution of appropriate health services to persons with palliative care needs.” While this is important, we don’t need to legalize assisted suicide/euthanasia to fix the poor availability of palliative care in the UK.
The Bill also holds that if the doctor “considers it appropriate,” then she or he should advise the person to “consider” discussing the request with their next of kin. That is a remarkably low bar to meet when you’re considering ending someone’s life.
Especially when we know that loneliness, or feelings of being a burden drive these requests. Take Oregon in the United States. According to the official stats, 43% of those taking lethal drugs give as one of their reasons the fact they feel a burden. Heartbreaking. Shouldn’t we fix this instead?
Next, section 10 should be termed the “shopping around clause.” If the “independent doctor refuses to make the statement” – which may well mean the conditions aren’t met – then the “coordinating doctor may…refer that person to a different registered medical practitioner” once.
So, to be clear, the “safeguard” of an independent review, and that doctor saying “no” means vulnerable people (or their proxy – see below) can just go somewhere else.
What about this “proxy”? The process requires several declarations. But the Bill provides it can all be completed by a “proxy.” The proxy doesn’t even have to know the patient as long as they’re a “person who is of good standing in the community.”
Section 12 requires the High Court to make a declaration approving the act. Every country that has gone down this path has an approval/review process. They all become rubber stamping mechanisms, and there are at least two ways the Bill seeks to ensure this review is positive.
Section 12(11) determines that if someone’s request for assisted suicide gets rejected by the High Court, that can be appealed to the Court of Appeal. But if the High Court approves assisted suicide, no one can appeal against it. It’s a one-way street.
Also, while the Court may hear from “any other person” (for example, a family doctor with concerns), that is only provided for in respect of determining certain criteria. The Bill tries to limit the opportunity to argue a person’s request doesn’t meet the other elements of the Bill.
Once approved, section 19 states that as long as the individual agrees, the doctor that will provide the lethal drugs and can assist does not have to be one of the doctors previously involved in the process. This opens the door to assisted suicide lobby groups opening suicide centers.
Some people draw (a slightly artificial) line between assisted suicide and euthanasia. This Bill gets very close to euthanasia. Section 18(6) says the doctor can provide lethal drugs but also “assist that person to ingest or otherwise self-administer…”
Section 26(2) adopts the existing penalty for participating in ending someone’s life, but only if they act dishonestly, coercively, or apply pressure. The problem is when you legalize suicide assistance, and the person at the center of the case is now dead, it’s very hard to prove those things.
Most evidently, the Bill is defective at its very core. But even if we say that the process could work, do we want this? Assisted suicide creates its own demand, and we know what happens next.
The Bill’s notes try to argue that “the Bill is different from [the law in] Canada…which [does] not limit eligibility to terminally ill adults…” That is true. But when Canada introduced assisted suicide in 2016, it was only for those expected to die soon. That requirement was dropped in 2021. Canada best serves as an example of the relentless push to expand the criteria once the door is opened. Assisted suicide now accounts for 4% of all deaths in Canada.
Ultimately, this affects us all. The consequences of state-backed death are severe and manifest across all of society. Assisted suicide/euthanasia rips apart families. Where the practice is legal, individuals who don’t want death are offered it instead of real treatment. Doctors are pressured to kill. Family members are left behind. And the sick desperate to be offered something better than death. The United Kingdom surely can do better than this.

UK: Essex Police come after Allison Pearson AGAIN as they take swipe at journalist’s criticism of ‘Kafkaesque’ probe
Essex Police have taken another swipe at Allison Pearson, saying her response to their probe into her social media posts was “unethical.”
The 64-year-old Telegraph journalist said that two police officers turned up at her door on Remembrance Sunday to tell her that she was under investigation for a tweet she made in 2023.
Now, she has hit back, claiming that Essex Police said she has been “unethical” to report her experience.
She branded the tit-for-tat situation as “Kafkaesque”, and said it appeared that the two officers themselves were confused.
Pearson posted on social media: “[Essex Police] say it was ‘unethical’ of me to report my awful experience at the hands of two constables.
“Really? The British people deserve to be informed about the Kafkaesque state of their justice system. Instead of solving frightening crime, police are frightening people.
A spokesman from Essex Police said: “Essex Police cuts crime. There were over 9,000 fewer reported offences in the last year and 20,000 fewer than five years ago.
“Our officers and staff, some of which are military veterans, work 24 hours a day, seven days a week to keep the public safe and investigate crime.
“We police without fear or favour and when a crime is reported, we investigate. That’s what we do and that’s what the people of Essex expect.
“There has been a large amount of false reporting about an ongoing investigation and the force has registered complaints with Ipso.”
Billionaire CEO Elon Musk weighed in to support the Telegraph writer. Posting on his X platform, he wrote: “This needs to stop.”
It comes as Home Secretary Yvette Cooper wants to change the requirement for police officers to record non-criminal hate incidents.
It is understood Cooper is considering a new “zero-tolerance” approach, which would see police officers encouraged to record more non-criminal hate incidents.
The move would be a reversal of changes to the laws brought in last year by the Tories, who issued new guidance that ordered the force to stop recording incidents just because someone was offended.
Reform UK deputy leader and Boston and Skegness MP Richard Tice said: “More disgrace by leaders of Essex Police, over Allison Pearson farce.
“Now they’re whining to Ipso about press criticism, because they want to suppress complaints. Just focus on actual crime: theft, rape, drugs, knives etc not online wet wokery.”
Former Reform Chairman Ben Habib said: “Delighted to see the widespread support for Allison Pearson today. She is a free speech and pro-British warrior. They come for her, they come for us all.”

Dutch Islamization is a warning to the entire West
by Giulio Meotti
“I think the West is on the verge of collapsing on itself. I am deeply disgusted by the situation and the behavior of the majority of politicians. We have let the Trojan horse in. I have been telling my left-wing friends for thirty years that we are screwed with Islamism. In twenty years, and probably less, maybe only ten, we will no longer recognize Europe. We are witnessing the end of a world, a great world, our West”.
So the famous French cartoonist Enki Bilal.
The physical hunt for the Jew has begun in Amsterdam, with the prime minister and the king of Holland apologizing and saying they are full of shame, evoking the “betrayal” of the Second World War. And then the hunt has also spread to the rest of Europe, from rotten Belgium to the avenues of Berlin to the Oslo subway, where you can read: “Hitler started it. We will finish it”.
And four days later, what do the Amsterdam authorities do? They accuse the Israelis of having asked for it. In its report on the mass attacks on Israeli soccer fans in Amsterdam, the left-leaning city council accused them of singing “hateful and racist songs against Arabs.” A 180-degree turn from the rhetoric of city officials so far, including Mayor Femke Halsema’s declaration that “there are no excuses” for the attacks.
The truth they don’t want to admit is that outside of a war situation, this is the first time, to my knowledge, that a European country has officially acknowledged that it is no longer the owner of its territory because of a colonizing Arab-Muslim presence.
But let’s go in deeper in order to understand how this dhimmitude came about.
The report by Dutch journalist David de Brujn gives an idea of what the Netherlands has become:
“Today, walking around wearing a kippah in the Netherlands is an act that takes courage. Between 1977 and 2002, more than 700,000 immigrants and refugees from Islamic countries settled in the Netherlands. Most alarming of all has been the transformation of the police. Just last month, Dutch police officers said they would not feel comfortable protecting Jewish institutions. Will a pogrom in 2024 be bad enough to wake up Europe?”.
In England they arrested a police officer for supporting Hamas. The topic of police infiltration is increasingly visible, and taboo.
In Berlin a Jewish football team was just placed under police protection after a group armed with sticks and knives chased the team members shouting “Free Palestine” and “f***ing Jews”. The incident occurred in Neukölln, a neighborhood with a large immigrant population. The Makkabi Berlin team in the German capital was founded by Holocaust survivors in 1970. The TuS Makkabi players were chased and attacked by a crowd armed with sticks and knives. In Neukölln they also distributed sweets to passers-by to celebrate the Hamas massacres. In Neukölln even the kindergartens have a crescent moon.
After the night of the hunt for Jews, there was a demonstration of force in Dam Square in Amsterdam to show even the blind who is in charge of the city. Just think that there was a ruling by a judge that prohibited these “demonstrations.”
And the next evening they went back to burning trams and cars.
In Amsterdam, only one in three minors under 15 is native Dutch. Islam is already the first practiced religion in Amsterdam. For years, Mohammed has been the first name among newborns in the four largest Dutch cities: The Hague, Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht.
In Holland you can do practically everything: buy drugs, go to prostitutes legally, request euthanasia. But there is one thing you can no longer do: criticize Islam. Those who do so are killed, change country, are silenced or self-censor to extend their life a little.
Take Bart Drenth, who resigned after just six months as director of “Tefaf”, the world’s largest art and antiques fair in Maastricht, the Netherlands. He had written too much and too negatively about multiculturalism: “Just like with the Iranian revolution, left-wing do-gooders are hand in hand with jihadists, not knowing that after the revolution’s success they will die first.”
There is Lale Gül, the author of Ik ga leven (I’m Going to Live), the best-selling book in the Netherlands. She receives hundreds of threats on social media. Two men were arrested for planning violence against her. Why? Because she reported on the Islamization of the Netherlands. And so she had to be protected by the police.
There is also Paul Cliteur, the Dutch academic critic of multiculturalism, who self-censored, announcing that he would no longer cover Islam for fear of reprisals: “This is a frightening development. What I am doing is self-censorship, absolutely.”
When liberals don’t wake up in time, they wake up to something bad.
But we in the West are very busy fighting fascist ghosts.
Sweden: Syrian nursing home employees filmed helpless nursing home residents in humiliating situations and gouged out the eyes of dead seniors while filming it
An alleged Syrian refugee woman who worked in two retirement homes in the municipality of Karlskrona has now been charged with 26 counts of defamatory photography of elderly people and one count of desecration of corpses.
She had filmed naked Swedes and dead Swedes at her workplace and also distributed the content.
In one video, her Arab colleague poked a finger into the eyes of a deceased person while the act was being filmed.
When questioned by the police, the Syrian woman said that this was normal in her home country (sic).
However, the Syrian woman cannot be deported to her country of origin, even if she is later convicted, as she was granted Swedish citizenship in record time – a year and a half after Fredrik Reinfeldt (Prime Minister) welcomed her.
When the police confiscated the Syrian woman’s mobile phone at the beginning of the year in another case, the videos were brought to the attention of the authorities.
In the police report, the investigator reports that the contents found in the woman’s phone were images and videos showing elderly and sick people in various situations of vulnerability. One of the videos shows a person pressing a finger into the eyes of a corpse in a nursing home.
The police investigation into 41-year-old Dunia Ali Agha, who is from Syria and lives in Lyckeby, began when the footage was linked to two nursing homes in Karlskrona municipality where the woman had previously worked.
The police investigation shows that the videos on the Syrian woman’s phone were recorded between 2022 and 2024 and involved no fewer than 17 Swedish residents of the retirement home in the municipality.
The employee wearing the ‘hijab’ (Islamic veil) gouged out the eyes of a deceased person while the Syrian woman was filming.
The police found numerous pictures and videos on the phone, and some of the residents seen in the woman’s films have died since the filming. The indictment at Blekinge District Court ultimately relates to 26 cases of undignified photography and one case of desecration of corpses.
As part of the investigation, the police reviewed the video footage together with Therese Adner, the head of department at the Vitus Elena retirement home on Norra Smedjegatan in Karlskrona, to help identify the residents as well as the location.
The Syrian woman also defended her Arab colleague in a hijab who stuck a finger in the eye of a deceased person. According to her, her colleague is ‘Arab, so she doesn’t understand’ that this is wrong.
Therese Adner, the head of the police unit, is shocked when she sees what the Syrian woman filmed at her workplace. ‘A normal person understands that you don’t do something like that,’ she said in an interview with the police about the colleague in question.
The Syrian woman’s defence: ‘I thought it was okay’.
During police questioning, Dunia Ali Agha needed an interpreter for Arabic, although she has lived in Sweden since at least 2014 and had worked in retirement homes for several years.
The Syrian woman both denied and admitted the offence. She admitted that she had filmed and distributed the content, but ‘thought it was okay’. This is despite the fact that it is forbidden to carry a private mobile phone in the facility.
She cannot be deported – she was granted citizenship in record time.
Syrian Dunia Ali Agha immigrated to Sweden during the 2014 migration chaos and applied for a residence permit on September 7.
Two months later, she received a permanent residence permit after Fredrik Reinfeldt, Prime Minister of Sweden, gave a welcoming speech in early 2024:
‘Open your hearts’ and “Thank you for choosing Sweden”….
‘Slit the throats of White women’ – African migrant who stabbed French female jogger and raped another woman tells police his motive
After a migrant from Cameroon was arrested for stabbing a woman and sexually assaulting another woman in a short period of time, police say he confessed to them that he wanted to “slit the throats of White women.”
The man was arrested on Nov. 9 in Bordeaux, France, after stabbing a woman who was out jogging in the back. The victim was rushed to the hospital. Her injuries did not turn out to be life-threatening, but she required emergency intervention.
The attacker was arrested shortly after the stabbing. The man is already known to the police for strangling a young woman on a public highway back in 2023, according to French news outlet JDD.
However, the stabbing turned out to be not the only crime the African migrant committed that day. Shortly after the attack, another female victim arrived at the police station and told investigators that she had “been sexually assaulted by the same individual,” according to a police source.
During the interrogation of the man, who is believed to be homeless, he told investigators he wanted to “slit the throats of White women.”
Police say the man is 23, a legal resident of France, and has no psychiatric disorders that could help him avoid a prison sentence. He is currently in pre-trial detention.
Afterwards, police obtained dashcam footage of the stabbing, which was captured by a bus driver. The footage showed the man striking the woman with a knife deep into her back.
The woman remains under psychiatric care.
Far-Left Mob Tries to Shut Down French Leader’s Brussels Book Launch
Those afraid of Europe’s conservative revolution have made freedom of speech their number one enemy. This is especially true in the European capital, where the elite and its footsoldiers are desperately but unsuccessfully trying to control the narrative.
Most recently, a mob of violent Antifa-style protesters clashed with Belgian riot police—who used batons and tear gas—following an attempt to scare organizers into shutting down the launch of Jordan Bardella’s new book at the House of Hungary in Brussels on Wednesday, November 13th.
Apparently allowing the leader of the largest political party in France, National Rally (RN) and the third-largest European Parliamentary bloc—the Patriots for Europe (PfE)—to speak, does not sit well with those without the slightest regard for democracy.
According to the French L’Echo, “hundreds” of radical leftist protesters showed up outside the venue about half an hour before the start of the event. They were waving rainbow flags and red-and-black banners, pointing to the Antifa movement’s communist roots, as well as the same “The extreme-right kills” signs that were used when—presumably the same group—tried to shut down Europe’s biggest conservative conference back in April.
A report on the events in Le Soir said that demonstrators tried to break through the police blockade while hurling bottles and firecrackers at the officers, who responded with batons, tear gas, and water cannons.
“In the face of the rise of fascism and far-right throughout the world, Brussels remains anti-fascist,” the protest organizers proclaimed through loudspeakers.
Massive antifascist welcome for Jordan Bardella, French far right politician in Brussels tonight. Make them afraid again comrades. Fascist scum off our streets.pic.twitter.com/Clw0wSX0hK

As we noted previously, Bardella’s book, Ce que je cherche(‘What I’m looking for’) has been at the center of a controversy in its author’s native France.
Booksellers and distributors are being accused of colluding to restrict the visibility of and spread of the book, which is halfway between the autobiography and the political program of the French conservative firebrand who rose to the presidency of RN at the age of 27.
However, the attempts to ban the book backfired spectacularly, and it is now the number one bestseller on Amazon in France.
For context, National Rally won the last parliamentary elections by popular vote, and mainstream parties were only able to prevent it from forming a government by making elaborate electoral deals with the progressives and far-left and taking advantage of France’s outdated first-past-the-post system. Nonetheless, the same tactics cannot be used in presidential races, and Bardella’s predecessor, Marine Le Pen will probably become the next (and first female) president of the republic after the 2027 election.
In Brussels, RN is the largest delegation of the national conservative Patriots group, the third largest bloc in the European Parliament after the centrist EPP and the socialist S&D, which is placed under an undemocratic (and sometimes even unlawful) cordon sanitaire by the left.
The Patriots also include the Hungarian ruling party, Fidesz, hence the book launch’s venue. “Classic Brussels welcome” was how Balázs Orbán, the political director of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s office, greeted news of the protest calling the event a “disgrace to the EU capital.”

Merit over identity politics: Trump says colleges need to be cleansed of ‘radical Marxist lunatics’ who have been wasting taxpayer money. Here is his 7-point plan
On 11th November, social media influencer Collin Rugg shared a video of President-elect Donald Trump announcing a sweeping plan to overhaul the higher education system in the United States. In the video, Trump criticised the “radical Marxist lunatics” who, he said, have infiltrated colleges, diverting taxpayer money to ideologically driven agendas.
The video, that was released a year ago as part of Agenda 47 of President-elect Trump, explained what he plans for the higher education.
Trump said he plans to restore merit, transparency, and efficiency in educational institutions. He declared, “Our secret weapon will be the college accreditation system.” Here is a breakdown of his ambitious 7-point proposal.
Seizing funds through accreditation reform
First and foremost, Trump has pledged to leverage the college accreditation system to withhold funding from institutions that refuse to align with the changed format in the education system, which he calls the “real standards” he intends to impose. He stated that his administration will “fire the radical left accreditors that have allowed our colleges to become dominated by Marxist maniacs and lunatics.” Furthermore, new accreditors will be appointed to enforce traditional values and improve accountability.
Protecting American traditions and cutting costs
In his statement, Trump criticised rising tuition costs, attributing it to “wasteful administrative positions.” He said his plan would mandate colleges to defend American traditions, safeguard free speech, and cut unnecessary bureaucracy. His aim is to focus on administrative reforms to provide affordable education and eliminate positions that, he said, “only inflate tuition.”
Eliminating ‘diversity, equity, and inclusion’ positions, and bring a strict meritocracy
One of the most important aspects of his statement was that he would eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) positions from the education system. He labelled diversity initiatives as part of a “Marxist agenda” and said he plans to abolish DEI departments. Instead, he proposed low-cost options, career services, and college entrance and exit exams to ensure students receive education that has real value. He emphasised that these steps will foster a merit-based environment in educational institutions rather than one driven by identity politics.
Addressing racial discrimination in colleges
In his proposal, Trump said he would direct the Department of Justice to file federal civil rights cases against schools that continue “unlawful discrimination under the guise of equity.” Notably, there have been reports of racial discrimination against Asian American and White applicants in educational institutions. In August 2020, OpIndia reported how Yale University was accused of bias against Asian American and White applicants.
In an investigation, the US Justice Department found that the university was violating US civil rights by illegally discriminating against White and Asian American applicants in the admissions process. The department’s investigation, which took about two years to complete, concluded that the Ivy League university, based in New Haven, Connecticut, rejected “scores of Asian American and White applicants each year based on their race, whom it otherwise would admit.” The investigation was ordered after a complaint of discrimination was lodged against Yale, Brown, and Dartmouth in 2016. Trump said he will “direct the Department of Justice to pursue federal civil rights cases against schools that continue to engage in racial discrimination.”
Endowment taxation for non-compliance
Furthermore, Donald Trump plans to impose taxes on the endowments of non-compliant institutions and proposes to fine these schools up to the full amount of their endowment. He suggested that by using budget reconciliation to fast-track the measure, his administration would ensure swift consequences for what he described as “anti-American insanity.”
Redirecting funds to support victims
Trump also proposed using the seized funds as restitution for those affected by “unjust and illegal policies” in education departments. According to Trump, the funds will be redirected to support victims of discrimination and improve educational access for those disadvantaged by identity-driven policies.
Ensuring ‘real education’ for students
Trump’s aim to “reclaim” education from ideological influence includes policies focused on practical outcomes and career readiness. He plans to implement college entrance and exit exams to ensure that students genuinely benefit from the education system in the US.
Billionaire Elon Musk also shared the video without mentioning anything else. Notably, Donald Trump has appointed Musk, along with Vivek Ramaswamy, to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). In a statement issued on 12th November, Trump said that Musk and Ramaswamy will pave the way for his administration to dismantle government bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure federal agencies, which he described as essential to the “Save America” movement.
As Donald Trump is set to return to the White House, his plan is to reform higher education in the country, aiming to remove what he sees as political biases. He believes the education system should focus on merit, fairness, and American values, as it once did. By changing how colleges receive funding and cutting unnecessary roles, he hopes to make college more affordable and practical. His 7-point plan promises to protect free speech, prevent discrimination, and create a system based on skill and knowledge rather than identity politics.
Elon Musk predicts Trudeau will lose 2025 election
Pro-freedom tech mogul Elon Musk predicted that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will be “gone” in the 2025 election.
In a November 7 post, Musk reveals he expects Trudeau’s defeat in response to a request to help Canadians oust the anti-freedom, anti-life, and anti-family leader.
“He will be gone in the upcoming election,” Musk wrote.
The statement was in a reply to British Columbia businessman Robert Ronning, who had previously written, “@elonmusk we need your help in Canada getting rid of Trudeau.”
Musk prediction comes after discontented Liberals reportedly gave Trudeau until the end of October to step down as Liberal leader before they take action to force the issue following two disastrous by-election results in “safe” ridings in Toronto and Montreal.
However, Trudeau has repeatedly refused to step down, instead insisting that the party is “united” under his leadership.
In addition to the October deadline, others have begun to publicly decry Trudeau’s leadership and call for his resignation. Earlier this week, Liberal MP Sean Casey of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, told CBC News that Trudeau’s time as leader should end, making him the second MP in a week to make such a declaration.
“My job has always been to project the voice of the people I represent in Ottawa, to be Charlottetown’s representative in Ottawa, and not the reverse,” he said. “And the message that I’ve been getting loud and clear and more and more strongly as time goes by is that it’s time for him to go. And I agree.”
Casey’s statement echoes Montreal Liberal MP Anthony Housefather who told CTV News that it is time for the Liberal Party to discuss who will lead them into the 2025 election.
“I support whoever is leader in my party at all times,” he said. “But that doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be a robust caucus discussion about who the best person to lead us in the next election is, and that discussion should happen in caucus. It shouldn’t happen in the media.”
Calls for Trudeau’s resignation come on top of the numerous Liberal MPs, including former cabinet ministers, who have vacated their seats or who have announced that they will not be running for re-election.
In addition to calls from the political class for Trudeau’s resignation, or at the very least their distancing themselves from his leadership, Canadian citizens have also had enough of the prime minister’s rule over the country.
Polls continue to uncover the upset of Canadians toward the current government, whether it be the 70 percent who believe the country is “broke” or the majority of citizens who report being worse off financially since Trudeau took office.
Additional polls show that the scandal-plagued government has sent the Liberals into a nosedive with no end in sight, with a September poll showing that the Conservatives under Pierre Poilievre would win a landslide majority government.
