‘It’s fantastic when fascists die’ — German public TV employee scolded for wishing Trump dead

Sebastian Hotz, an employee of German state television ZDF who regularly appears on Jan Böhmermann’s “ZDF-Magazin Royale” under the name “El Hotzo,” has expressed regret that Donald Trump did not die in the assassination attempt.

On X, where the 28-year-old has 694,000 followers, he wrote: “I think it’s absolutely fantastic when fascists die.”

High-profile media lawyer Joachim Steinhöfel shared the post and wrote: “This is the ugly, fascist grimace of Böhmermann’s accomplices. The people that ZDF has allowed to act without restraint for far too long. Celebrating an assassination attempt, regretting that it was unsuccessful. When does that have what consequences?” (‘Culling Nazis’)” he asked.

Bundestag Vice President Wolfgang Kubicki (FDP) was appalled by the article and described it as “public approval of serious crimes.” He assumed that the public prosecutor’s office would deal with the matter.

ZDF has remained silent

ZDF has not yet commented on the hate speech. For years, the broadcaster, which is financed via compulsory fees, has repeatedly backed Böhmermann, even when he recently compared political opponents to infected pigs and called on them to “cull Nazis.”

Sebastian Hotz was awarded the Bavarian Cabaret Prize last year. This is awarded by Bayerischer Rundfunk, among others. Following numerous protests, “El Hotzo” has since deleted his post on X about the assassination attempt on the Republican presidential candidate.

Gardaí clash with protesters at site earmarked for asylum seekers in Coolock, Dublin

Screen grab X

Gardaí have clashed with anti-immigration protesters at a site earmarked for asylum seekers in Coolock, north Dublin.

Members of the Garda’s public order unit came under sustained attack from protesters hurling rocks and other missiles.

Gardaí charged the crowd and used pepper spray to disperse the crowd and made a number of arrests. The protester were forced away from the scene near the old Crown Paints warehouse on the Malahide Road.

Earlier, a blaze broke out at a makeshift camp established by anti-immigration protesters who were objecting to a disused warehouse being used to house asylum seekers.

The fire destroyed a JCB digger, which was being used to dismantle the camp, before spreading to other areas.

Members of Dublin Fire Brigade brought the blaze under control. The cause of the fire is not yet known.

The camp, which is on private grounds outside the warehouse, was established several months ago to block workers from renovating the property.

It is understood there were efforts on Monday morning to dismantle the camp, leading to a clashes between protesters and gardaí.

At least one person, believed to be a security guard for the site, was injured.

People Smugglers Strike Again In Germany: Group of Teens Run Down by Trafficker Evading Cops

Screen grab youtube

Human traffickers, perhaps one of the most dangerous groups operating in Europe today have struck again with a group of young people walking home from a music festival run down by a smuggler’s car trying to outrun police.

Police attempted to perform an inspection of a vehicle in Bavaria which resulted in a high speed chase. During the driver’s attempt to get away from police, the vehicle drifted in an attempted turn and hit a group of young people walking home from a music and fireworks festival in Vilshofen. The six injured pedestrians were aged between 21 and 11 years old and were all hospitalised, and two police officers were injured. Four of the young people were seriously injured but there were no fatalities yet, reports German broadsheet Die Welt.

The driver did not stop at the scene of the collision and continued in his attempt to escape. Eventually, the vehicle got stuck in a dead end and the driver, a 24-year-old migrant male from Georgia in the Caucasus, West Asia, was arrested. Also inside the vehicle were eight migrants, none of whom had legal travel documents.

Police are working on the assumption the Georgian driver is a people smuggler and the eight passengers were his customers. The investigation continues.

The incident is only the latest in a great series of such attempts by people smugglers driving illegals across Europe attempting to outrun the police, many of which have had deadly consequences, both for their passengers and for other road users. In 2023 seven people including a child were killed when a trafficker crashed his minivan while trying to outrun the police.

The small truck had seats for nine people but was carrying 23, and was travelling at over 100 miles per hour when it rolled at a junction in southern Germany. The same year another such crash in Hungary killed one and seriously injured several. The year before three were killed and 11 injured in a grossly overloaded smuggler car in southern Hungary after running a police checkpoint. The vehicle burst into flames after crashing.

In other cases, the traffickers kill through sheer neglect. In 2021, two migrants died of asphyxiation in the back of a van being driven through Europe by a smuggler, who knew they had been sealed in the back for hours without fresh air. In an even more infamous case in 2015, 71 migrants died in the back of a trafficker’s truck in Austria after the vehicle had been abandoned by the smugglers but not unlocked.

These dreadful events pale in comparison to the death tolls of traffickers at sea, taking advantage of Europe’s weak border control policies to make enormous amounts of money, but killing thousands of people in recent years in the process.

Spaniards don’t like €9.6bn a year tourists, but quite like illegal immigrants

When you picture Barcelona, what may come to mind is the stunning modernist architecture of the Sagrada Familia. Or perhaps it is the gourmets taking in the sights and aromas of the Boqueria, or the bookworms traversing the streets of the Gothic quarter and following in Cervantes’ footsteps. Perhaps it is the wandering bands of sunburned Germans and Brits bickering over towels and territory on the beach at Barceloneta.

Whatever image you have, it all features tourists—lots of them. So many that the locals have started rebelling. The hostility has been growing for quite some time, and a recent video has emerged showing the lengths some residents will go to kick the foreign visitors out of their city.

The Spanish have taken up arms. This time around, it is not a civil war. This is an armed struggle against a new enemy—the tourism industry. Their weapon of choice is a water pistol. A few days ago, a video emerged showing al-fresco diners having to abandon their tapas and sangria when they were squirted with water by locals protesting against mass tourism. Some protestors cordoned off hotels and bars using tape.

It might sound like something out of a South Park sketch, but Catalans are having to get creative. They have exhausted all the usual top-down state-enforced tactics — increased visitor taxes, the phasing out of short-term private rentals, and refusing planning permission for new hotels. People have also adopted a form of guerrilla warfare, daubing walls with graffiti proclaiming, ‘tourists go home.’

In certain aspects, Barcelona is a victim of its own success. When the city was awarded the right to host the 1992 Olympics, everything changed. It was the perfect opportunity to highlight the city, coming only a few years after the nation’s first democratic elections since the death of Franco. Millions of dollars flooded in, enabling the city to undertake massive urban regeneration projects such as revitalising dilapidated coastal areas and greatly enhancing and expanding the city’s roads and motorways. Barcelona didn’t have a beach before the Olympics. To build a three-kilometre beachfront, sand was imported from Egypt.

The number of tourists more than doubled between 1990 and 2001. Barcelona has developed into a major cultural and economic force on the world stage in a little more than three decades. The capital of Catalonia is now ranked as the eighth best city in the world, ahead of other major European cities such as Berlin and Rome. Twelve million people visited the city last year.

It is not just Barcelona’s residents that are tired of visitors. 15,000 people participated in a June demonstration in Málaga against excessive tourism. There have also been protests on the islands of Formentera, Ibiza, and Menorca. Protestors in Majorca stopped holidaymakers from accessing an idyllic beach on the island popular with social media influencers. One protestor is seen sporting a T-shirt that reads, “A.T.A.B.”‘ (All Tourists Are Bastards).

I have some sympathy for their protests. The sight of a group of internet influences driven by narcissism and the desire for instant gratification would be enough to get me to take up arms. Despite being British, I will admit the British have a poor reputation for acting appropriately abroad. Especially in Spain. We do not always endear ourselves. But we always make up for our lack of grace with money. Lots of it. The tourism industry in Spain generated €9.6 billion last year, up almost 15 percent from 2019. It’s also a major employer. More than 100,000 people are employed in the tourism industry out of the 1.6 million residents of the city.

There is an interesting dynamic at play. Tolerance for immigration seems to be growing as anti-overtourism sentiment gains traction across Spain. For years, Spanish residents have adopted a rather liberal approach to immigration. Barcelona residents demonstrated in 2017 to demand that the government take a more accepting stance towards refugees. During the Volem acolir (“We want to welcome”) demonstration, 160,000 people took to the streets and demanded the Madrid government honour its 2015 promise to let 17,000 refugees into Spain within two years.

In general, net migration is accepted in Spain. For the past 25 years, this viewpoint has been increasingly prevalent. In 2002, 28 per cent of Spaniards believed that immigration made their country better. This figure had almost doubled by 2018.

In 2006, 60 per cent of respondents said immigration was one of the three most important issues. By 2011, that number had dropped to 10 per cent. Since then, it has continued to be below that level. Vox, the hard-right anti-immigration party received only 12 per cent of the vote in the most recent general election, indicating public opinion is shifting in favour of immigration.

This situation has more than a hint of irony. Many of the people who become enraged when tourists overcrowd and burden public services are also the ones who seem to be in favour of a constant flow of immigrants, both legal and illegal, into their city.

Last year, there was an 83 per cent increase in illegal immigration to Spain. With 56,852 migrants arriving by land or sea, it was the second largest arrival in Spanish history. Yet residents decide to turn the ire on visitors who only stay for a few weeks and boost the local economy. Tourists go home? That’s the point. They do!

While residents are busy refilling their water pistols, hundreds of unidentified men from the Middle East and North Africa show up on the southern coasts of Europe every day. They congregate in large groups on the streets, make minimal contributions, and stay for months or even years, and they are welcomed with open arms. Notices saying ‘Refugees welcome’ are frequently painted next to the ‘tourists go home’ graffiti.

Since the beginning of 2024, over 19,000 migrants have arrived in Spain’s Canary Islands.  While a small number of people protested in the streets in April, over 57,000 people showed up to voice their opposition to tourism on the Spanish archipelago. Rather than applying legally from a safe country, it is easier for young men simply to turn up on a beach, take off, and disappear into nearby towns and cities. Nobody is certain of their identity or motivations, but vacationers eating outside in the cool Spanish evenings seem to be the target of increasing ire. As annoying as an overweight Texan or drunk South African might be, they have one very useful thing in common: a passport.

To be fair, some European cities are being destroyed by tourism. Venice is a case in point. The constant stream of cruise ships is eroding the Adriatic Sea. To improve living conditions for tax paying residents, there is a good case to be made for restricted tourism. I pose this question to those who loathe tourism: how can you then support mass migration with all its concomitant problems? Consider France, where 77 per cent of rape cases on Parisian streets are committed by foreign migrants, and where terrorists who entered the country pretending to be migrants killed 138 citizens.

Foreign holidays used to be reserved for the wealthy. However, vast swathes of people are starting to join the leisure class as a result of competition and rising prosperity. The problem is that everyone wants to visit the same place. There are no bus tours of Middlesborough’s town centre being sold. Capitalism is supposed to be a zero-sum game. Maybe capitalism can help control the industry it created. Some are already trying. In an attempt to restrict visitors, there is a daily entry fee to the city of Venice.

There is little that Barcelona’s stunts will be able to do to discourage tourism. It is a worldwide industry with annual revenue of about $6 trillion. Paradoxically, our obsessive pursuit of net-zero will be its downfall. More harm to tourism will be done by carbon taxes, and aviation restrictions imposed by the state than by a water pistol.

“When Gaza burns, Berlin burns” – Pro-Palestinians set fire to Berlin school

The Berlin State Office of Criminal Investigation is investigating a suspected arson attack on the Tiergarten secondary school (photo). According to what is known so far, objects were set on fire in front of an “apparently tilted window” of the school at around 3.00 a.m. last night, the police said.

“As a result, a fire also broke out in the room containing technical equipment, among other things,” the police added. The fire brigade was able to extinguish the fire and no one was injured, according to the police. The technical equipment in the room was “considerably damaged”, but there was no major damage to the building.
“Several fresh pieces of writing relating to the Middle East conflict were also found on several walls in the school’s courtyard,” the police said. According to a report in the newspaper “B.Z.”, the slogan “When Gaza burns, Berlin burns” was written. The estimated total damage is at least 250,000 euros. The police state security department of the State Office of Criminal Investigation is now investigating serious arson and damage to property.

“After the problems surrounding the graduation ceremony, this is now the next stage of escalation,” the newspaper quotes Benjamin Fritz (CDU), the councillor responsible for the school, as saying during a visit to the scene of the fire. “It’s now also about a sense of security in the school. Such incidents naturally also have an effect on the pupils and staff.”

The grammar school was in the headlines just a few weeks ago – at the time, it was about the cancellation of a graduation ceremony due to announced political protests in the context of the Gaza war. The school management had cancelled the event because it was expecting a protest by students from the graduating class. According to media reports, the students wanted to use the graduation ceremony for a pro-Palestinian protest.

UK: Humza Yousaf faces probe after donations worth £250k sent to Gaza aid fund

Humza Yousaf has been warned he will face a probe into a series of donations made by the Scottish Government to a Gaza aid agency.

The former Scottish First Minister, who quit after losing the support of coalition partners from the Green Party, appears to have authorised £250,000 to the United Nations Relif & Works Agency.

Taxpayers’ cash was handed over while Yousaf’s family were trapped in the Strip during Israel’s retaliatory attack following last October’s onslaught by Hamas.

Officials had recommended a £100,000 to £200,000 donation to Unicef in a bid to fund water programmes.

Yousaf allegedly overruled the advice and gave a pot of cash to the biggest international aid agency operating in Gaza.

The £250,000 donation came from the International Development Fund, The Telegraph has claimed.

The pot had been ring-fenced for projects in Malawi, Rwanda, Zambia and Pakistan.

A review of the processes involved in the response to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is now underway, the Scottish Government has confirmed.

A Scottish Government spokesperson said: “The review, which will focus on evolving future Scottish Government humanitarian funding mechanisms and processes, will be announced in due course.”

The donation of £250,000 was announced publicly on November 2 as Yousaf met a delegation of UNRWA officials in Edinburgh.

It was made at a time when Yousaf’s in-laws were being given safe passage out of Gaza via the Rafah crossing.

Yousaf, who resigned as First Minister in April, denied the donation was connected to the release of his in-laws.

A spokesman said at the time: “UNRWA had no role in the situation regarding the First Minister’s extended family, and any suggestion of a conflict of interest in this matter would be completely untrue.”

However, it is now being alleged that Yousaf could have breached the ministerial code or potentially acted with a conflict of interest.

The Scottish Ministerial Code states that ministers “must ensure that no conflict arises, or could reasonably be perceived to arise, between their public duties and their private interests, financial or otherwise”.

The UK and the US were also among a number of countries who suspended funding to the UNRWA after 12 of its workers were sacked following accusations by Israel that they participated in the October 7 attacks.

An inquiry into such claims has since been launched by the UN.

The Foreign Office said the UK was “appalled” by the claims that UNRWA staff were involved in a “heinous act of terrorism”.

Yousaf’s stint as First Minister has been partially blamed for the SNP’s poor performance in last week’s general election.

The SNP is no longer the largest party in Scotland, with Labour reclaiming the crown as the nationalist’s seat total dropped from 48 to nine.

Nicola Sturgeon’s resignation and subsequent uncovering of the SNP’s financing scandal also negatively impacted its support.

It’s the demography, stupid! And demographically, the time of Islam has come

by Giulio Meotti

As Tony Blair put it, “what do you leave behind?”. Demographics, stupid.

Everyone knows this, but the fool who only wants to see his own finger believes he is entitled to dispute what is obvious and to accuse the wise man who points to the moon of “racism”.

Before the 2022 Champions League final at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, football champion Thierry Henry (father of Guadeloupe, mother of Martinique, not a white supremacist) shocked public opinion by saying that “Be careful, the stadium is in Saint-Denis, not in Paris,” only to add: ““It’s near Paris but trust me you don’t want to be in Saint-Denis. It’s not the same as Paris, trust me.”

Until recently, half of the population of Saint-Denis was Breton, due to a relocation coming from the French region which has its center in Rennes. Today the Bretons are only 11 percent of the population of Saint-Denis and “in danger of extinction” for demographic reasons, while Saint-Denis has become non-European. “There are 135 different nationalities in Seine-Saint-Denis,” socialist Interior Minister Jean-Pierre Chevènement observed with black humor, “but one of them is practically extinct.”

Even the Archbishop of Strasbourg Luc Ravel, appointed by Pope Francis, declared that “the Muslim faithful are well aware of the fact that their fertility is such that today they call it… ‘Grand Remplacement’. They say in a very calm and positive way: ‘One day all this will be ours’.”

Here then are the new data on Muslim births throughout France: in Paris, 25 percent (as in the Côte d’Azur); in the Ile de France, 35 percent, with departments such as Seine-Saint-Denis where 6 out of 10 newborns are Muslim.

With 10 percent of a population responsible for 23 percent of total births, a dynamic of rapid ethnic, cultural, social and religious replacement is underway.

Yasser Arafat said that the “womb of the Palestinian woman” is “the most powerful weapon against Zionism”. It was the eighties and nineties, when the birth rate Israel was like that of European countries. They were, like the French today, doomed. Then the Israelis, religious and secular, did what the Arabs did not expect: they had children, in even greater numbers than the Muslims. And so Arafat’s followers have had, for the moment, to find cruder and more powerful weapons than demography. As of October 7th we know which ones they chose.

But let’s go back to France.

If Emmanuel Macron has no children, the socialist Raphaël Glucksmann has one like the Insoumise Jean-Luc Mélenchon, who however has politically adopted millions of them in the suburbs. It is still called the “Popular Front”.

“What do German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, his predecessor Angela Merkel, French President Emmanuel Macron, former Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and former British Prime Minister Theresa May have in common?” Bret Stephens wrote a few days ago in the New York Times. “They have no children. This is personal business, but it is the symbol of a continent where in 2022 just under 3.9 million Europeans were born and 5.15 million died. Europe faces an additional challenge: a relatively high Muslim birth rate, coupled with the prospect of long-term Muslim migration. According to a ‘medium migration’ scenario estimated by Pew, by 2050 Great Britain will be almost 17 percent Muslim, France 17.4 percent and Sweden 20.5 percent.”

As a liberal convert to Islam states in Michel Houellebecq’s “Submission”, “liberal individualism triumphed when it was content to dissolve intermediate structures such as countries, corporations and castes, but now that it has reached the definitive structure, the family – and therefore the demographics – has signed his own death warrant. Logically, the time of Islam has come.”

Muslim women in France have a fertility rate of 2.73 children, double that of native French women, reveals a study published in Causeur. The contrast is even more marked if we consider the 3.6 children for Algerian women, 3.5 children for Tunisian women, 3.4 children for Moroccan women and 3.1 children for Turkish women, figures far higher than the fertility in their countries from.

And after 50 years of suicidal policy, only a radical and immediate brake on external immigration could save France from this rendezvous with destiny. Emmanuel, Jean-Luc, Raphael and the others will one day be able to write in their memoirs: “We knew, but we were too afraid to admit it.”

Birth rates among Muslims in Europe may decline, just as rates among Catholics have fallen in Italy, Spain, Ireland, France and Germany. But the demographic data, as Mark Steyn explained, is the “last man standing”. It is no consolation that the Islamic birth rate will collapse in 2050 if yours has been nose-diving since 1970. The last people around with children will determine the kind of society we live in.
