Although Dawat-e-Islami claims to be a non-political and non-violent religious group inspired by Sufi tradition, and so far, there is no evidence of direct involvement as a group in any terror act, jihadists have said they were inspired by the Pakistani organisation.

Haji Imran Attari, the head of Dawat-e-Islami’s central executive body, and Maulana Abdul Habib Attari, a member of central executive body, will visit Cyprus on August 3 and 4, 2024.

“To support Dawat-e-Islami’s religious activities in Europe and South America, Haji Imran Attari and Maulana Abdul Habib Attari will be traveling with a Madani Qafila from August 3 to August 18, 2024. This mission aims to propagate Islamic teachings and invite people towards righteousness,” the group said in an announcement.

“During this period, Haji Imran Attari will deliver speechs filled with the teachings of the Prophet at various gatherings and inform the general public about Dawat-e-Islami’s religious efforts.

“The Madani Qafila led by Haji Imran Attari and Haji Abdul Habib Attari will commence on August 3 and 4 in Cyprus with the objective of spreading the invitation to righteousness.”

It is recalled that a day after the brutal murder of the tailor in Udaipur in northern India in 2022, Rajasthan Police said that Ghouse Mohammad, one of the two accused in the case, had gone to Karachi in Pakistan in 2014 and had links with Dawat-e-Islami.

“One of the accused, Ghouse Mohammad, has links with the Karachi-based Islamist organisation Dawat-e-Islami. He had visited Karachi in 2014. So far, we have detained five people, including the two prime accused,” Rajasthan DGP ML Lather was quoted as saying.

While Dawat-e-Islami claims to be a non-political and non-violent religious group inspired by Sufi tradition, and so far there’s no evidence of its direct involvement as a group in any terrorist act, this isn’t the first time the group’s name has come up in a terrorism investigation, India Today reported.

In fact, there have been multiple incidents in the past where its followers went on to carry out terrorist attacks.

The last time Dawat-e-Islami’s name came up during an investigation into a terrorist attack was back in 2020, when a Pakistani terrorist named Zaheer Hassan Mehmood carried out a stabbing attack on September 25th outside the former headquarters of French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris. Two people were wounded in the stabbing attack and the terrorist was arrested.

During the investigation of the attack, French authorities discovered that Zaheer claimed that his religious guide was Maulana Ilyas Qadri, the leader of Dawat-e-Islami.

At the time, Zaheer’s father said in an interview to Pakistani media said that he is “proud” of his son who has “done a great job” and he is “very happy” about the attack. He said that Zaheer “was a good son” who prayed regularly and attended Milad twice a year. His father also confirmed that he was a follower of Maulana Qadri, the leader and founder of the Dawat-e-Islami organisation.

Zaheer’s father had appealed to the then government of Imran Khan as well as to other Islamic countries to help bring his son home. “He has done service in the cause of Islam and we are a Muslim country,” he was quoted as saying.

Mumtaz Qadri, the murderer of Pakistani governor Salman Taseer, was also a follower of Dawat-e-Islami and its leader Ilyas Qadri, who declared Mumtaz Qadri a ‘ghazi’.

Ilyas Qadri has declared that “all Muslim scholars agree that a blasphemer must be killed but it is up to an Islamic government to execute the punishment. However, if a lover of the Prophet kills a blasphemer extra-judicially, as per Islamic jurisprudence, the killer is not executed”.

A 2016 murder of a British-Pakistani Ahmaddiya Muslim man named Asad Shah in Glasgow also produced links with Dawat-e-Islami. The murderer, a British-Pakistani Barelvi Muslim named Tanveer Ahmed, was affiliated with Dawat-e-Islami and was revealed to be an admirer of Mumtaz Qadri. Ahmed was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 27 years.

Reform UK deputy leader Richard Tice has demanded that all non-British rioters be deported from the country following two nights of unrest in a multicultural area of Leeds.

The ethnically diverse Harehills area of Leads saw another evening of chaos on Friday as hundreds of residents from the Roma community took to the streets demanding the return of four children who were taken from their families by state social services.

The removal of the children sparked riots on Thursday evening as angered residents set multiple fires — including burning a double-decker bus to a crisp — threw stones at law enforcement officers, and overturned police cars.

Responding to the chaotic scenes in Leeds, Reform MP Richard Tice said: “These riots are wholly unacceptable. The full force of the law must be applied. British citizens should be punished. Non British citizens should be deported never to be allowed to return.

“We must create respect for Britain and our values,” Nigel Farage’s deputy added.

Former Conservative government minister Andrea Jenkyns also called for a hardline approach to the rioters, while declaring that the violent scenes demonstrated that multiculturalism “is not working”.

“You cannot force people to adapt to the British way of life. I believe in the old adage when in Rome, do as the Romans do,” Jenkyns told GB News.

“If people are left to get away with this, which they have been because we’ve got a Labour West Yorkshire mayor who is more focused on waving rainbow flags and hate crimes than serious crimes like this.

“If it was me, I would have got the army in there with the police in riot gear. I would have dragged them off the street to have stopped it.”

In its latest statement, the local West Yorkshire Police said that they were “continuing to attend to a serious disorder incident in the Harehills” on Friday evening.

The police force vowed that the “full weight of the law will be brought against those responsible” for criminal damage during the riots.

However, the West Yorkshire Police have come under heavy criticism on social media after footage emerged seeming to show multiple officers arresting what appeared to be a native British woman who had reportedly come out to protest against the riots.

The police force said that it has arrested several people and that “further arrests will be made over the next few days”.

New Labour Home Secretary Yvette Cooper said on Friday: “The scenes of criminality and disorder in Leeds last night were disgraceful, including attacks on police vehicles and public transport, and will have been very distressing for local residents.

“Those responsible must face the full force of the law and West Yorkshire Police have my support in pursuing the perpetrators and taking the strongest possible action against them.”

The Dresden Federal Police Inspectorate is asking for assistance in investigating an incident in which a 13-year-old girl was attacked and injured. The incident occurred on 2024-07-17 when the 13-year-old girl, accompanied by two friends, travelled by suburban train (S8) from Dresden Mitte station to Radeberg station, arriving there at around 08:58 pm.

On the suburban train, the girls were mobbed, insulted and shot at with firecrackers by another group of people (consisting of one female and three males). At Radeberg station, the female suspect continued to verbally provoke and threaten the injured parties with physical violence. This culminated in a physical attack in which the 13-year-old was punched several times in the face and kicked in the stomach by the female suspect. As a result of the physical assault, the 13-year-old victim subsequently went to the paediatric accident and emergency department for treatment.

The suspect was described as follows: a female aged around 15 to 16, wearing blue baggy jeans, a black and white chequered top and a black headscarf. Her three male companions were aged between 16 and 20.

The Dresden Federal Police are looking for possible witnesses who may have witnessed the incident and can provide relevant information about the perpetrators. Witnesses are asked to contact the Dresden Federal Police Station by calling (0351) 81 50 20. Today marks 50 years from the illegal Turkish invasion of Cyprus.Turkey’s army continues to unlawfully occupy 36% of the territory of Cyprus preventing refugees from returning to their homes.

On July 20, 1974, at 5:20am, 40,000 Turkish troops landed and invaded northern Cyprus after last-minute talks in the Greek capital, Athens, failed to reach a solution.

The Turkish troops under the command of Lieutenant Nurettin Ersin implemented their invasion plan, code-named ‘Attila’, illegally invading the island in violation of the UN Security Council Charter.

The blue sky of Cyprus quickly dulled with smoke from bombs dropped by the Turkish warplanes. Hundreds feared for their lives as the invading Turkish troops murdered 4000 men, women and children from Kyrenia and the villages surrounding Nicosia in cold blood.

Tension had been running high in the Mediterranean island since a military coup, in which President Archbishop Makarios, a Greek Cypriot, was deposed.

As an explanation to this horrific act, Turkey offered the restoration of the constitutional structure of the Republic of Cyprus that was damaged by a coup, and the protection of an 18% Turkish-Cypriot minority on the island.

The international community strongly condemned the military invasion and rejected Turkey’s explanations. In ‘Resolution 353′ that was adopted on the day of the invasion, the United Nations (UN) Security Council “equally concerned about the necessity to restore the constitutional structure of the Republic of Cyprus” called upon all States to “respect the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Cyprus” and demanded “an immediate end to foreign military intervention in the Republic of Cyprus”.

Turkey not only ignored the international community but launched a second offence in August, 1974 and managed to seize more than one third of the territory of the Republic of Cyprus.

The atrocities of the Turkish army included repeated rapes of women of all ages, torture, savage and humiliating treatment of hundreds of people, including children, women and pensioners during their detention by the Turkish forces, as well as robbery on an extensive scale, by Turkish troops and Turkish Cypriots.

Thousands of Greek Cypriots lost their lives and 200,000 Cypriots fled their homes leaving behind their belongings.

The Turkish-Cypriots also later declared the occupied part of the island “a Federated Turkish State.”

A very sad day for Cyprus, with the horrific memories still remaining strong in the minds of all Greek Cypriots and Greeks alike.

Every year since, on the anniversary of the invasion, sirens have blared out over the Republic of Cyprus, recalling the moment Turkish troops invaded.

A Catholic bishop in Mexico said that the country’s recent presidential election, won by far-left candidate Claudia Sheinbaum, was orchestrated by the government and warned of an “imminent” communist takeover in Mexico.  

While celebrating Mass last month, Bishop Cristóbal Ascencio García of Apatzingán in Mexico’s Michoacán state thanked people who are praying for Mexico “in the face of the imminent arrival of communism.”

“What I congratulate is the Christians, the Catholics who continue to pray with the Rosary and invit(e) people to pray the Rosary before the arrival of communism,” he said, as ACI Prensa reported.

Sheinbaum, a Jewish-raised atheist “climate scientist” who has called abortion a “right” and celebrated homosexual “marriage” and LGBT “pride,” won Mexico’s presidential election on June 2 with nearly 60% of the vote, according to official numbers.

Her leftist Morena party and its allies also won a majority in Mexico’s federal legislature and will control 23 of the country’s 32 states.

However, the Mexican elections were plagued by fraud, Bishop García explained.

“The prelate said ‘it’s becoming increasingly clear’ that the electoral process that led to Sheinbaum’s victory ‘was an election (orchestrated by) the state, with as many irregularities as had ever been seen,’” according to ACI Prensa.

The outlet noted:

According to official figures from the National Electoral Institute, during the June 2 election day, 5,089 incidents of irregularities were reported throughout the country, most of them minor, such as cases of people who tried to vote without a voter registration card. However, 29 polling stations had to be closed due to robberies, gun violence, and ballots being burned, among other factors.

In poorer parts of Mexico, there were “irregularities, votes sold, bought,” Bishop Ascencio attested. 

“Here in Apatzingán I realized that (they bought) each vote for 1,000 or 1,500 pesos (about $56 to $84), but later speaking at a meeting I had in Morelia (the capital of the state of Michoacán), bishops from throughout Mexico, in some parts of the southeast of the country (they bought) a vote for 5,000 pesos (about $280),” he revealed. 

Organized crime also used coercion to help political parties acquire votes, he said.

The bishop remarked that the election was so corrupt that it should be invalidated because of “so many irregularities that have never been seen before.”

“We just have to open our eyes,” he said. 

Bishop Ascencio called on Catholics to pray “that a Mexico (living) in freedom and a Mexico capable of showing its faith and love may not be lost.”

“From our faith, let us fight with all our soul so that the world around us stops being a flow of injustice, a constant flow of blood and disenchantment. Do you have faith? Then the Lord needs you.”

Yesterday, smoke rose from a city of just over 500,000 inhabitants in West Yorkshire, namely the city of Leeds, around 10% of which is now Muslim. A very large number of the Muslim minority took to the streets to riot. A bus was set on fire; buildings and cars were smashed apart; and police personnel were attacked, with many of their vehicles being damaged, including at least one police car being overturned. Police were forced to flee the area in which the violence was erupting, and thereafter, the rioters were seemingly left in peace to continue their rampage.

The proximate reason for this explosion of violence remains as yet unclear, though the media have been reporting that it began with some sort of “family incident.” The general reason for this riot, however, is certainly known to the whole country. For decades, the ordinary English inhabitants of England have witnessed their country being transformed by the colonisation and repopulation of their towns and cities by arrivals from abroad. They have looked to the media and the political class for some critical consideration of what has been taking place, and they have heard nothing but the sound of crickets. If anyone was unwise enough to speak out about what was happening, he was subjected to accusations of ‘racism’ and ‘xenophobia’ and his career was put at risk. This culture of censorship, that soon gave rise to a culture of self-censorship, has been extremely effective.

To the English, England no longer feels like their home in a vast number of places across the land. The bourgeois liberals who have long championed multiculturalism and ethnic pluralism—deploying the rhetoric of diversity and inclusion—have now largely moved to the rustic villages of the West Country to avoid living amid the degradation that they helped to create. A great many Muslims—who form the core, most problematic, and most troublesome contingent of a wider category of imported peoples that have taken over swathes of England—feel neither English nor foreign. Many of these people were born in the UK, and may even be the grandchildren of immigrants, having always belonged to large communities that were never inducted into the national, indigenous culture of the land in which they live. 

If there ever was a time in which a robust but dispassionate policy of repatriation for a growing immigrant community could be entertained, it seems that time has now passed. Perhaps there was a moment in our history—maybe in the late 1960s—when large amounts of money could have been given to immigrant communities to return to those countries with which they still felt some connection or attachment. Given that many of their members do not work, claim large benefits from the state, and have a habit of marrying close relations and birthing children that require extensive ongoing healthcare for the congenital ailments that arise from consanguinity, such pay-outs likely would have been much less demanding on the taxpayer in the long run. But so much time has passed, and the population of uprooted settlers has swelled to such a massive size, that it is apparently too late now for such a measure, even if most of the country endorsed it and a government was willing to advance it. It might work for the millions of new arrivals who have come in the last few years, but that wouldn’t suffice to fix the problem of which the fires of Leeds yesterday were mere symptoms. In turn, England appears to be stuck in a rut. 

In very general terms, it is fair to say that in England, we do not have a population, but two populations. We have the natives who feel that England is English no more. And we have the settlers and their offspring, who feel neither English nor foreign. In turn, we have the worst of all situations from the perspective of cultural stability and social cohesion. Across the land, side by side, live two displaced peoples between which there is little communication or sympathy: the unsettled natives and the uprooted settlers.

The unsettled natives are still heirs to a national culture, a set of habits and customs, and a mode of political and civil participation. But as we saw from the riots in Leeds yesterday, the uprooted settlers may be uprooted from those lands where little grows in any case, but they have brought with them the violent politics of the desert and the hysterical habits of the tribe. Their way of behaving is utterly alien to the land in which they have settled, from whose culture they have firmly set themselves apart. And their widely held assumption, as the county of Yorkshire has well learned over many years of Muslim gang warfare and the rape of English girls, is that disdain for the native population is perfectly respectable.

Very little time is left for England, if any time is left at all. Control of the situation—with prudent, incremental steps to stop England’s disappearance and reverse the transformation it has undergone—must be seized now, or England will be lost forever. After all, it is not the unsettled natives who are having all the children, for they are too busy breaking up their own families by divorcing and contracepting and aborting themselves off the face of the planet. It is the uprooted settlers that remain together, have children, and win territory. In turn, if the English do not morally reform themselves, take stock, and act now, they will wholly deserve to lose their shared home. Soon, whatever we’ve meant till now by the word ‘England,’ with all its institutions, art, poetry, music, rural customs, and glorious townscapes, will not exist, and the country’s doom will include the bucolic villages of Devon where self-indulgent liberals have fled and hidden themselves from the arriving settlers.

To be clear, for I know my words will be twisted by those with malign intent, by ‘native’ and ‘indigenous’ I do not mean anything racial. I mean those, whatever their race or religious commitments, who see themselves as part of England, as belonging to Albion, as members of a corporate whole with all its history and culture. I am neither Anglo-Saxon nor a member of the established Church, but I am English and the English are my people. Anyone who comes to England to stay should feel obligated to induct themselves into its national life. But few have felt the weight of that imperative on their shoulders, and that is why we are where we are: at a stage in which the country is divided between two displaced peoples and its cities are on fire.

The new Labour government will, of course, only intensify the problem I have highlighted. And that is why, in five years, the only hope for the UK will be a Reform government or a Conservative government fully conformed to the political agenda of Reform, with Nigel Farage at the Tory helm—beginning with withdrawal from the European Court of Human Rights, so that the process of salvaging England can actually begin. For the underlying problem over which I’ve been looming is that of a leadership which is not patriotic, and thus has developed no policy or legislation, or utilised its legal organs at all, to prevent the erosion of England. 

At present, Reform appears to be the only party for whom patriotism does not have any malevolent connotations. At the recent national election, millions voted for Farage, and five years from now, millions more will vote for whoever advances the principles on which his short campaign stood. England must see a change or it will be lost forever, and this is far from trivial, for the vast majority of our unsettled natives have nowhere else to go.

A family from Maryland has accused the Children’s National Hospital of encouraging their autistic teenage son to identify as a “girl.” The biologically male child was then taken from his family’s care due to their refusal to “validate” his transition, and has now been placed in the home of the Hospital’s non-binary “chaplain,” who has connections to Assistant Secretary of Health, Rachel Levine.

The lawsuit, which was filed in March by Maryland couple John Doe II and his wife, states that their 16-year-old autistic son was admitted to the hospital after a suicide attempt in November 2021. Shortly after his admission, the parents allege that hospital staff began to insist their son was transgender, despite the boy never questioning his gender identity before his hospital stay.

According to a press release issued by Partners for Ethical Care, the suit claims that the hospital “intentionally set out on a … program to identify, critique and then rebuke the family’s professed religion… [and] to expressly require the parents to convert to the ‘new Christianity’ by engaging in faith-conversion sessions with the hand-selected [hospital] chaplain not of any of the Doe family’s faith, Lavender Kelley.”

Kelley, a biological female who identifies as non-binary transgender, has repeatedly posted in support of the medical transitioning of children against the wishes of their families.

“I’m so drained from watching children die because their families don’t understand the science of gender or the psychology of coercion or the damage of weaponized religion. And to see government be not just merely unhelpful but outright violating means only more suicides and profound mental anguish to come,” she wrote on Facebook in March 2022, only two months after the family were told in CPS court proceedings that their son would only be allowed home if they affirmed his new trans identity and stopped reading “particular passages” of the Bible at home.

“Even if you don’t agree with gender affirming therapies, please, please, please know that they stave off suicides and give children space to grow up and grow into authentic identity,” she continued in the post. “There’s nothing that’s done in gender affirming therapies for children and adolescents that isn’t 100% reversable [sic] if they change their mind. We’re buying them time to understand the complexities of gender but in a way that promotes psychological growth along the way,” Kelley continued.

Despite her insistence otherwise, “gender-affirming” therapies such as hormone treatment lead to permanent effects.

Prior to being placed directly with Kelley, the boy had been released into the home of a foster carer, one who is alleged to have been a close personal friend of Kelley.

The suit claims that the “foster mother” had a previous assault charge in Maryland, and began “exploiting” the teenage boy by posing him as a female in Instagram photos, despite allegedly writing that he “did not want to be a woman.”

Disturbingly, after being tested for sexually transmitted diseases in the summer of 2022, the boy was once again hospitalized for a suicide attempt.

The suit further adds that the “foster mother” suddenly died, and as a result, the teen was rehoused into the care of hospital Chaplain Kelly herself, where the parents claim he still resides to this day to the best of their knowledge, despite having turned 18 in March of last year.

In another Facebook post from June 2023, during the time period that the suit alleges the boy was living with Kelly, the chaplain and her partner are pictured at an event at the Israeli Embassy in Washington DC, with transgender Assistant Health Secretary Admiral Rachel Levine.

Levine has been one of the most vocal proponents of the medical transitioning of children. “Gender-affirming care is life-saving, medically necessary, age-appropriate, and a critical tool for healthcare providers,” Levine said in June 2022. “As a pediatrician, when it comes to making sure kids are healthy and happy, I know how important care that affirms someone’s true identity can be.”

Even though a judge found in August of 2023 that abuse charges brought against the parents by the hospital were unsubstantiated, the parents have not had their son returned to them.

“This is the craziest case I’ve ever had,” said the family’s lawyer, Mr. Amos Jones in March. “I don’t know why there are people who think this makes sense. But I guess lots of people agree with this in Washington D.C. now… There is a sensitive way to welcome and serve families caring for a child struggling with identity concerns. Instead, this hospital decided to disregard the parents’ rights, and the oppression has operated over a period that now spans four years.”

What the hell were they thinking?

Adidas, the German athletic shoe giant founded by actual Nazis, decided to put out a celebratory shoe from its 1972 Munich Olympics collection.

The shoes had been popular, or as they say in the trade, iconic, with stripes running down the sides. But it was a little skeevy to package them that way, given that the first thing that comes to mind about the 1972 Munich Olympics was the monstrous attack on Israeli athletes by Palestinian terrorists.

At that Olympics, 11 Israeli athletes were murdered in gruesome ways by hooded “Black September” terrorists, dancing around and waving their guns up and down as if it were Oct. 7. After that, the feckless German response ensured that the terrorists got away with it, escaping, until the long arm of the Mossad caught up to them and picked them off one by one.

Nevertheless the Munich shoe was a popular design and even Jewish-American athletic swimming champion, Mark Spitz, wore the shoes at those games. It wasn’t wrong to bring them back, actually, the issue was the framing. The shoes sport a fabulous retro look that appeals to the young.

The big problem is who they chose as the marketing face to promote them: Bella Hadid, a loudly, militantly, anti-Israel supermodel who frequently wears a keffiyeh, and has a famously Jew-hating Palestinian dad, as if there weren’t enough supermodels out there to choose from.

Hadid, who is half-Palestinian on her father’s side, and her sister Gigi have faced criticism for being supporters of the Palestinian relief efforts since Hamas attacked Israel on Oct. 7, 2023.

The German athletic wear company announced Monday the re-launch of the classic SL 72 shoe ahead of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

The Post reports that she has advocated violence against Jews and Israel, which if true, would make the matter even worse. This would be a full-blown Jew-hater of the worst sort.

Now she’s the glamour face of those shoes, done in blood red as if to get the point across about the 1972 Olympics, and everyone’s supposed to be fine with it.

What indeed were they thinking?

Sure, Adidas, a German company that would remember those Olympics well, did a semi-apology for it, as TMZ and others reported:

Adidas says … “We are conscious that connections have been made to tragic historical events – though these are completely unintentional – and we apologize for any upset or distress caused. As a result we are revising the remainder of the campaign.”

But it’s pretty lightweight, acting as if the choice of model was some random accident.

They didn’t think of the 1972 Munich Olympics massacre, the work of Palestinian terrorists? They didn’t think of Hadid’s loudly pro-Hamas advocacy? They didn’t put two and two together and total up a potential boycott? One wonders if they just wanted the negative publicity or something like it.

And the ignorance is inexcusable. Adidas, recall, is a company founded by a militant Nazi, Adi (short for Adolf) Dassler, who signed his letters “Heil, Hitler” and who had a brother who was an even bigger Nazi who eventually founded his own shoe business, Puma. Nazis are the chief inspiration for Hamas, which makes this whole tennis shoe controversy pretty multi-layered and shocking.

A little thought could have gone into the choice of model and the focus would have been on the shoes, not the disgusting past of Adidas’s founder and the disgusting acts of its latest spokesmodel. It’s as if the company’s Inner Nazi is coming out.

They need a bigger apology than the one they gave, along with an explanation about whether this is their style of business to promote Naziism in all its most modern forms, or they really are so stupid they pay no attention to their own history.

German news media company Apollo News has filed a lawsuit seeking answers from the Interior Ministry regarding the raid on a conservative magazine publisher’s home on Tuesday following the ban on his publication.

Masked police raided Compact magazine founder and editor-in-chief Jürgen Elsässers’s home around 6 a.m. on Tuesday with orders to “search and seize.” Just minutes later, mainstream media outlets published the story—along with pictures of Elsässer opening the door in his bathrobe. 

How news media could have photographers present at Elsässer’s house before police knocked on his door, as well as entire articles ready to publish, is a question Interior Minister Nancy Faeser has refused to respond to, Apollo News said on Thursday.

Her ministry responded late to our press inquiry and then merely referred to a press release. Upon further inquiry, they did not respond at all.

Disclosing confidential information to unauthorized persons is a crime, Apollo News points out, and says “the media coverage appeared orchestrated.” The news outlet’s inquiry about whether an investigation would be launched into alleged cooperation between Faeser’s interior ministry and the press was also left unanswered, as were subsequent questions about whether the media presence amounted to an intrusion into Elsässer’s privacy.

The Compact publisher has not only lost his publication but is also barred from starting another one. However, the scope of this professional ban remains unclear and is another issue on which the Interior Ministry has refused to provide answers. Additionally, the ministry has not clarified how donors to the publication may have been impacted by the search-and-seizure raids conducted on Tuesday.

Apollo News on Wednesday filed a lawsuit in the Administrative Court of Berlin, saying:

It appears that the ministry of Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faeser has entrenched itself in a strict refusal to respond. However, journalists have a legal right to information from authorities, and we demand answers to our questions! 

As we reported, the Interior Ministry, led by Social Democrat Nancy Faeser, banned the Compact magazine on Tuesday, July 16th, for “inciting hatred” and “aggressively propagating the toppling of the political order.” Elsässer says the move to ban the anti-establishment publication without any legal grounds is a blow against press freedom, and that the government—not he—is the real enemy of the democratic order. Constitutional law experts also consider the ban an attack on the freedom of the press and Hans-Georg Maaßen, former Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) chief, said Faeser “does not protect our constitution, but is a threat to our free democratic basic order.”
