Belgium: ‘ A plan known as “Pati 2”, in which two young people from Verviers wanted to slit the throat of a teacher because, in their opinion, she “spoke badly about the Koran”; a machete was bought for the purpose

Mathis, 20, and Ibrahim, 18, two citizens of Verviers, are facing four and two years’ detention on probation respectively at the criminal court in Liège for allegedly participating in the activities of a terrorist organisation. Mathis was already known to the police when he was still a minor. He had already completed a programme of de-radicalisation, which the federal prosecutor’s office admitted had absolutely no effect. ‘In his case, public money is being wasted,’ the federal magistrate said.

[…]
The links between the two youths were quickly uncovered. When the police arrived, they smashed their mobile phones. However, the investigation revealed that they had decided to carry out a ‘Pati 2’ project, named after the French teacher who had his throat slit by an Islamist terrorist on the 16 October 2020. Mathis and Ibrahim had already bought a machete to carry out their plan. According to the investigation, they had also planned to fight among terrorist groups in the Sahel in order to die as martyrs there.

They watched videos of attacks and executions. They had a guide for training to become a martyr. One of them had written a letter of allegiance to the Islamic State and a will for his relatives. They vandalised the Notre Dame des pauvres chapel in Stavelot and trampled on a cross. ‘I am a Muslim,’ Ibrahim stated in a defiant tone. ‘I perform the seven prayers on time. I don’t know what the problem is. Putting me in prison won’t change my faith. I accept Allah as my only judge and completely renounce your laws,’ he finished his speech in front of the horrified audience. DH

20-Year-Old Nasen Saadi Charged with Murder After Bournemouth Beach Stabbings

Nosta Lgia

A 20-year-old man described as being from Croydon in South London has been charged with murder and attempted murder following the stabbing of two women on a beach in Bournemouth.

Nasen Saadi, 20, will appear at the Poole Magistrates’ Court on Saturday on charges of murder and attempted murder over a stabbing attack at Durley Chine Beach in Bournemouth on May 24th, Dorset Police said in a statement.

One woman, Amie Gray, 34, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene while a second 38-year-old woman was hospitalised with serious injuries but was later released from the hospital.

Saadi, who was arrested on Wednesday following an investigation led by detectives from the Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT), has been described as being from the London Borough of Croydon.

Commenting on the case, Detective Superintendent Richard Dixey said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and loved ones of Amie Gray, as well as the woman who was seriously injured, and they have been updated with this latest development in our investigation.

“This matter has been the subject of an extensive investigation and we have now consulted with the Crown Prosecution Service, which has authorised the charges of murder and attempted murder.

“This means the case will now be the subject of active court proceedings and it is vital that the justice system is allowed to follow its course.

“It is also important to stress that there should be no further commentary or sharing of information online or on social media that could potentially prejudice these court proceedings.”

France: Two high school students on record for Islamist radicalisation are suspected of having caused the bomb threat at the Olympe-de-Gouges school centre

Two pupils at the school are believed to be responsible for the bomb threat that led to the evacuation of around 1,300 people on Thursday afternoon. One of them is listed in the S register for Islamist radicalisation. The messengers of several pupils had been hacked.

Two high school students are said to have made the bomb threat on Thursday afternoon at the Olympe-de-Gouges school centre in Noisy-le-Sec (Seine-Saint-Denis). This nasty prank had severely disrupted the operation of this centre, which comprises a college, a lycée, preparatory classes and BTS.

Thanks to the email addresses and the encrypted messenger Telegram, the investigators were able to identify two potential perpetrators. They are ‘two high school students’, according to a source close to the case. The profile of one of the messengers is worrying. This teenager is ‘known for Islamist radicalisation and is listed in the S-file’, the source continued. Le Parisien

Low Emission Zones launching today will see motorists fined £60 a day for driving petrol and diesel cars

Four major Scottish cities will begin enforcement of their Low Emission Zones this week ABERDEEN CITY COUNCIL

Drivers are being warned of new law changes being introduced today across three major UK cities which could see them hit with hefty charges every day.

New Low Emission Zones will be launched in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow, with drivers potentially risking expensive fines if their vehicles are older and more polluting.

It comes as new data has found that almost half of Scottish motorists are unaware if they understand the rules of the Low Emission Zone, leaving thousands at risk of being hit with a fine.

Around one-quarter of motorists said they were also unsure if their vehicle is LEZ compliant or not, with experts urging motorists to use the number plate check on the Government website.

Petrol vehicles generally registered from 2006 onwards will meet the Euro 4 standard, while diesel vehicles must be Euro 6 (generally registered from September 2015) and Euro VI for buses, coaches and HGVs January 2013 onwards).

All non-compliant vehicles entering a LEZ across Scotland will see them hit with a £60 fine, with the rate doubling for each subsequent breach, capped at £480 for cars and LGVs, while minibuses, buses, coaches and HGVs could see maximum fines of £980.

Sally Foote, chief commercial officer for Sell my Car at Carwow said: “There are two clear issues that have come to light here.

“Firstly, that more needs to be done to educate and inform drivers about LEZs, and secondly, it is cost and not lack of willing that is preventing drivers from making the switch to cleaner vehicles such as EVs and hybrids.

“We therefore need to tackle the lack of understanding amongst motorists about Low Emission Zones in Scotland – where they are and which cars are compliant – because, without better knowledge, millions of drivers are at risk of being fined.

“There is also much more that needs to be done in terms of affordability. Most drivers want to do what they can to drive more cleanly – in fact, most want to own an EV – but it is just not economically viable at the moment.”

A recent poll found that 60 per cent of Scottish respondents were in favour of the zones, with just 21 per cent of people opposed, with politicians and local councillors in support of the new scheme.

Councillor Scott Arthur, transport and environment convener at Edinburgh City Council, said he was proud to reach such an important milestone.

He added: “For the past two years we’ve run a positive information campaign to give people time to get ready for the LEZ, and to make sure they avoid penalties once enforcement begins.”

Further data from Carwow found that 52 per cent of people believe electric vehicles are the future, although 53 per cent believe now is the “wrong time” to introduce a LEZ.

Of the Scots surveyed who currently own a non-compliant vehicle, 33 per cent said they cannot afford to upgrade, rising to almost four-in-10 drivers in Dundee.

Simon Williams, head of policy at the RAC, said: “While motorists were given a two-year grace period to prepare for these new LEZ enforcements, it’s important to realise they’ve had 24 months of extremely high fuel prices, an ongoing cost-of-living crisis and insurance premiums at an all-time high, making it very challenging for drivers of older vehicles to upgrade.

“Those on low incomes who live within 12 miles of a LEZ boundary may be eligible for a grant of up to £3,000, so it’s well worth checking the Energy Saving Trust’s website.”

Polish soccer fans, political leaders protest Warsaw mayor’s ban on crucifixes in city hall

Soccer fans in Poland unveil banner protesting Warsaw mayor’s ban on crucifixes in city hallLegionisci.com/X

Polish soccer fans protested the decision by the far-left mayor of Warsaw to remove crucifixes from Warsaw’s city hall in the historically Catholic country.

In a match between Legia Warsaw and Zaglebie Lubin last Saturday, Legia Warsaw fans showed a banner that read “Trzaskowski, hands off the cross.” The sign was a protest against Warsaw Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski’s decision to ban religious symbols in the city hall under the pretense of “equal treatment.”

A spokesperson for the mayor stated that Warsaw would be the first city to adopt the ban on religious symbols, i.e., crosses and crucifixes, in a public building. In the same document, the mayor also urged employees to use transgender “pronouns” and treat homosexual “couples” as if they were “married,” even though homosexual unions are not legally recognized in Poland.

Conservative politicians also expressed their criticism, and some took legal action against the ban. According to Euractiv, MP Malgorzata Gosiewska from the Law and Justice Party (PiS), the former governing party of Poland, submitted a request to the local administration to declare the mayor of Warsaw’s decree illegal.

PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński accused Trzaskowski’s party and its European group, the nominally “Christian democratic” European People’s Party (EPP), of trying to erase religion from people’s lives, as they seek “to destroy religion, destroy what people believe, that they are more than just homo sapiens, that they are human beings who have a soul, that they are human beings made in the image and likeness of God.”

The Catholic legal group and think tank Ordo Iuris filed a complaint accusing Trzaskowski of abusing his office. In an article published on its website, the organization said that Trzaskowski’s actions were based on an erroneous understanding of the Polish constitution.

“A cross hung on the wall of an office by citizens is first and foremost an expression of legally-protected religious freedom, including in the public sphere,” the Ordo Iuris article states. “The presence of the cross in offices is also part of the constitutional expression of gratitude ‘for the culture of the Nation, which is rooted in its Christian heritage as well as in universal human values’ (Constitution of the Republic of Poland, Preamble).”

Poland’s conservative PiS party leads in opinion polls despite ‘Justice Fund scandal’

The latest opinion polls in Poland have left the left-leaning Gazeta Wyborcza daily in disbelief, as the Law and Justice Party (PiS) emerges once again as the poll leader. This development comes despite adverse reports concerning the misuse of the Justice Fund by politicians from Sovereign Poland, a junior coalition partner of PiS in the United Right government.

According to a poll conducted by Opinion24 for the liberal TVN24 news channel, PiS has now overtaken the Civic Coalition (KO).

If parliamentary elections were to be held next Sunday, PiS would receive 29.8 percent of the vote, just slightly ahead of the KO, which would secure 29.7 percent. The Confederation and the Third Way are behind with 11.6 percent and 11.2 percent, respectively, while the Left enjoys support from 8.3 percent of respondents.

This marks a noticeable difference from the previous Opinion24 poll for TVN24 in April, where the Civic Coalition had 33.8 percent of the vote, compared to PiS’ 26.4 percent.

The poll further shows that 78 percent of surveyed participants indicated they would vote, with 53 percent saying “definitely yes” and 25 percent saying “probably yes.” Another 18 percent of respondents chose “no,” with 8 percent “probably not” and 10 percent “definitely not.” Four percent were undecided.

The poll followed the exposure of recordings by Tomasz Mraz, a former official in the Ministry of Justice, who for two years secretly recorded ministers from Sovereign Poland. Mraz is involved in an investigation concerning the wrongful distribution of multimillion grants from the Justice Fund and is referred to as the “main witness,” who is “exposing his former colleagues.”

Zbigniew Ziobro, a former justice minister, and his team from Sovereign Poland had long managed the Ministry of Justice and the Justice Fund itself, which the current government-controlled prosecution took over a few months ago. Prosecutors allege that €66 million in a special fund may have been misused under the former justice minister.

Azerbaijan hosts event promoting Polynesian ‘decolonisation’ from France

Azerbaijani parliamentarians have hosted elected French Polynesian officials at a conference on the  decolonization” of their territory.

In a move angering Paris, Azerbaijani sources said  the purpose of the four-day visit was “to explore opportunities for establishing parliamentary, economic, humanitarian, educational, scientific, sporting and healthcare collaborations between Azerbaijan and French Polynesia”.

However, during a news conference regarding the visit, Marania Vaianui, foreign relations adviser with Tavini, the ruling party of French Polynesia, made clear her party wanted to kick France out of the region.

“We seek support from 193 countries. Our aim is the freedom of our people, enabling us to liberate our lands and utilize our natural resources efficiently,” she said, denouncing France as a country that “keeps ignoring UN resolutions”.

Vaianui also expressed her gratitude to Azerbaijan for supporting French Polynesia, News.az reported .

Azernews added: “It’s important to highlight that the Tavini party has been fighting for the independence of French Polynesia for many years, freed from French slavery.”

Mainland France is not amused by the so-called Baku Initiative Group (BIG) and its conference titled: “The Right to Decolonization of French Polynesia: Challenges and Prospects.”

François-Xavier Bellamy, leading the European Parliament election list for the French center-right Republicans party (LR), railed against the Azeri authorities on social media.

“How long will Azerbaijani President [Ilham] Aliyev be allowed to fracture France?” he asked about

Le Figaro contacted the Azerbaijani Embassy in Paris, which claimed that the government of Azerbaijan did not initiate the BIG conference.

The embassy further pointed out that LR received “separatist Armenian representatives [ie the authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh] in the French Senate”, and “Azerbaijan did not react because it, similarly, had nothing to do with the French Government.”

“It is therefore time for this false trial of alleged interference to stop,” the embassy stated.

Le Figaro noted that Azerbaijan had a single legislative chamber, dominated by the ruling party of President Aliyev.

It is not the first time Azerbaijan has invited separatists from French territories to visit. In July, 2023 it held a conference in Baku, inviting and paying expenses for guests from French Guiana, New Caledonia and French Polynesia.

That led to the creation of the BIG group, working on the development of “French liberation and anti-colonialist movements”.

Earlier in May this year, the group published a statement condemning France for its policies regarding New Caledonia.

In October 2023, the executive director of the group Abbas Abbasov said that, in French overseas regions, “human rights, the right to self-expression is violated and the local population is actually deported”.

He also accused France of being a “neocolonial power”.

Following the French National Assembly’s approval of changes to voting rules on the archipelago earlier in May — expanding the right to vote to more French people living locally — New Caledonia has seen violent protests.

Indigenous Kanaks and the Socialist National Liberation Front oppose the changes, fearing a loss of influence among the native Kanak population.

French interior minister Gérald Darmanin accused Azerbaijan on May 15 of collaborating with independence movements in the region to destabilize the island.

“I regret that some of the pro-independence leaders in New Caledonia have made a deal with Azerbaijan, that’s undeniable,” he said.

The accusations of foreign interference led to France temporarily banning the social media platform TikTok.

Azerbaijani flags appeared alongside Kanak symbols in the protests on the South Pacific archipelago, while a group linked to the Baku authorities has openly backed separatists while at the same time condemning Paris.

Azerbaijan said the accusations were “unfounded” and “insulting”.

Tavini representatives claimed the BIG was “an NGO like any other”.

Relationships between Azerbaijan and France have been bad for some time now. In October 2023, France chose to send military aid to Armenia after Azerbaijan annexed Nagorno-Karabakh, “so that it can ensure its defense”, Paris said at the time.

In December 2023, a reporter for the Azerbaijan State news agency Azertag was refused entry to New Caledonia, despite reportedly having a visa.

Paris has already given Armenia €12.5 million in humanitarian aid and French officials back the notion of slapping European Union penalties on Baku.

France is a long-time ally of Armenia, Azerbaijan’s neighbor and historic rival, with the EU country also being home to a large Armenian diaspora.

But, on an EU level, Azerbaijan is an important energy supplier in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine — making Baku a crucial partner.

Muslims in Germany cheer about the Islamist terrorist attack on critics of Islam in Mannheim

Screen grab X

Yesterday’s attack on the Islam-critical activist Michael Stürzenberger who is a member of the citizens’ movement Pax Europa has cancelled out and replaced the grotesque hype surrounding the allegedly right-wing extremist party singers from Sylt faster than the left-wing state and its propagandists would have liked. The web is overflowing with reports and videos about the latest bloody incident across Europe. As with all the Islamist atrocities of the last ten years, which have met with more or less undivided approval from many supposedly ‘well-integrated’ German Muslims and in some cases (as in the case of Antonio Rüdiger after the beheading of French teacher Samuel Paty, who at the time liked a violent post directed against Macron by Islamists) were even met with expressions of sympathy from celebrities, all the Jew-haters, Hamas fanboys and young Muslims from the most integration-denying milieus are of course showing their enthusiasm again.

The internet is packed with tweets and posts of satisfaction at Stürzenberger’s fate; many of those who had attacked, spat at and cursed him during his hundreds of appearances in German marketplaces see today’s crime motivated by hate as a kind of just punishment and overdue atonement for his ‘Islamophobia’. He is also often labelled a ‘Mossad agent’ due to his pro-Israeli stance.

The most disgusting example of the frenetic Muslim enthusiasm for the bestial attack comes from the following video blogger, who gives free rein to his cheers in a video liked by countless German Islam fans.

While left-wing journalists still seriously doubt whether it could really have been an Islamist attack, the fellow believers of the Afghan perpetrator, who has been living in Germany as a refugee for 11 years, are applauding it unquestionably as a jihadist hero’s day against a blasphemer and infidel. The perpetrator himself acted with ice-cold intent; the full video of the incident shows how he walked around the scene for several minutes, took photos and then deliberately attacked out of nowhere.

What the above footage glorifying this act as well as the countless examples of support for terrorism show are precisely those cases in which the German state must finally act if it does not want to perish completely: such individuals have no place in Germany. The same should apply – in an even more severe form – to all those who are out of their minds and express support here, as the Caliphate demonstrators would have to face if this country were still in control of itself: Throw out these time bombs and demagogues! This is no longer a question of remigration, it is a question of the self-liberation of subjects who have never been allowed to live in this country and who have forfeited their right to live here.

If they are immigrants who are tolerated here, their permits must be revoked and they must be deported immediately (the same would apply all the more to illegal immigrants), no matter where they come from – even if they come from a ‘non-safe country of origin’. And if no destination country comes into question, they should be immediately taken into custody pending deportation. However, if they are German dual nationals, they would have to be denaturalised and also deported. If they were ‘only’ Germans, they would have to be subjected to the full rigours of the rule of law – incitement of the people, glorification of terror, approval of criminal acts. Of course, the dysfunctional German constitutional state does not allow for all of this, or it lacks judges who would be prepared to administer justice in this way; but this would be the task of an overdue new policy in this country. In a further step, it would also be necessary to examine the extent to which Islam itself should not be scrutinised insofar as it is possibly not a religion in the sense of the Basic Law, but an ideological totalitarian world view that should have no place in the public sphere.
