Pope Francis reportedly tells homosexual man thrown out of seminary: ‘Go forward with your vocation’

Pope Francis reportedly told a man who was dismissed from a seminary for being a practicing homosexual to “go forward with your vocation.”

According to the Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, 22-year-old Lorenzo Michele Noè Caruso received a letter from Francis in response to an email that Caruso sent the pontiff about the pope’s reported use of the vulgar phrase “frociaggine” (“f–ggotry”) in reference to homosexuals in seminaries.

“Thank you so much for your email,” Pope Francis wrote in a handwritten letter that was scanned and attached to the email, as Il Messagero reported. “I was struck by an expression of yours: ‘Toxic and elective clericalism’: and it is true! Do you know that clericalism is a plague?”

“Jesus calls everyone, everyone,” the letter continued. “Some people think of the Church as a customs office, and that is bad. The Church must be open to everyone. Brother, go ahead with your vocation.”

In his alleged response, Francis affirmed the homosexual man in his attempt to receive Holy Orders in explicit violation of Catholic teaching while also failing to call him to repentance and chastity.

The Catholic Church infallibly teaches that all homosexual activity is gravely sinful.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church (2357) teaches that “homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered” and “contrary to the natural law.” The Catechism is very clear that homosexual activity can never be approved and repeats that “(h)omosexual persons are called to chastity,” adding that the homosexual inclination is “objectively disordered.”

The Church also prohibits men with homosexual tendencies from being admitted to seminary or Holy Orders, as a 2005 instruction from the Congregation for Catholic Education approved by Pope Benedict XVI declares. The instruction adds that “disturbances of a sexual nature,” such as a sodomitic inclination, “are incompatible with the priesthood.” The Vatican reaffirmed this ban in 2016.

Caruso told Il Messaggero that Francis’ “beautiful reply… makes it clear who the real Pope is, he is not what they made him out to be.”

“This letter gives me hope, now the seminary remains a dream not shelved,” he added.

The young man said that he was dismissed from the seminary when his “sexuality” was discovered.

According to Caruso, the letter he received from Francis has “heartened” him and other so-called “gay Catholics.”

In his letter to Francis, Caruso expressed his confidence that the ongoing Synod would reverse Catholic doctrine, “be a turning point,” and ensure that “all expressions [are seen as] God’s plan for our Church.”

He asked for a revision of the Church’s prohibition on men with homosexual tendencies from the seminaries because “many young people feel lost in a Church that often seems to have become tied to a toxic and elective clericalism,” he said, “where only some deserve to be welcomed and where others are excluded as false Christians,” as if renunciation from grave sin is not necessary to be Christian.

According to Il Messagero, Innocenzo Pontolillo, president of the notorious Italian pro-LGBT group “La Tenda di Gionata,” praised Francis’s letter as “welcoming, inclusive,” and “really beautiful.”

This instance is not the first time that reports of Pope Francis affirming pro-LGBT groups or individuals in their sinful practices and ideologies have come out. The openly homosexual priest Father James Alison said that the pontiff affirmed his homosexuality in a private phone call in 2017. In 2023, the pope reportedly told LGBT activist groups, including New Ways Ministry, to “go forward” with their activities during a private meeting at the Vatican.

The pope also has an extensive record of promoting heretical, pro-LGBT clerics like Cardinal Robert McElroy of San Diego and LGBT activist priests like Father James Martin, SJ. Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich, SJ, of Luxembourg, whom Francis appointed the relator general of his Synod on Synodality, has said that he believes Church teaching on the sinfulness of homosexual acts is “false.”

In December, Francis approved the heterodox document Fiducia Supplicans authored by Cardinal Victor Fernández, head of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith. Because it endorses the “blessing” of homosexual “couples,” it drew condemnations from bishops around the world, including Cardinal Gerhard Müller, Cardinal Robert Sarah, and the majority of the African bishops.

Salvini accuses Macron of warmongering before EU elections

Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini is accusing French President Emmanuel Macron, via a post on social network X, of wanting to plunge the European Union into war with Russia.

Salvini posted an image mocking the French president, with the message, “Military escalation and Italian soldiers at the front on the orders of dangerous ‘bombers’? No thanks. Yes to Italy’s commitment to peace, in the rejection of war provided for by the Constitution, inspired by our collective moral conscience and our Christian tradition.”

In the same message, the leader of Italy’s nationalist right, whose party, the League, is part of the governing coalition led by Giorgia Meloni, asks voters to vote with the League for “more Italy and less Europe.”

In the image posted by the Italian deputy prime minister, Macron appears dressed as a military man, armed with an assault rifle.

In the run-up to the European elections on June 9, Salvini’s League is struggling in the polls. The party, which won 34 percent of the votes cast in 2019, is now credited with just 8 percent of voting intentions, well behind Giorgia Meloni’s Fratelli d’Italia (FdI) party, which is polling at 27 percent.

Despite Meloni’s terrible record on mass immigration and her support for weapons to Ukraine, both positions Italian conservatives tend to disagree with, her support has remained stable. However, other European conservatives have been quick to criticize her policies.

Meloni is also known for her radical turn on legal immigration, fully embracing more legal migrants, including from Third World countries, in order to please Italy’s Big Business community.

AfD politician injured in second attack within a week by left-wing extremists in Mannheim, Germany

In the state of Baden-Württemberg, an Alternative for Germany (AfD) metropolis council candidate was stabbed and injured late Tuesday. One of the three assailants was arrested that night, the newspaper wrote. Built.

The incident occurred close to the sq. at round 10:45 p.m., when an AfD candidate noticed a gaggle of individuals tearing down a poster for another European Parliament election, the social gathering’s native affiliation mentioned. When he intervened, an assault occurred.

In footage offered to the DPA by the AfD, which seems to have been filmed by the injured candidate himself, the cameraman may be seen operating after the younger man throughout the sq., shouting: stand!”

The younger man has a number of AfD election posters below his arm and doubtless has a field cutter in his hand. “Get down on the bottom instantly.” The man filming shouted at him. The battle begins instantly. A person is seen stabbing himself and different scenes are blurred.

According to AfD spokesman Emil Sänze, the sufferer of the assault was Heinrich Koch, 62, the newspaper reported. world. A complete of three folks attacked him, two of whom are nonetheless on the run. Sänze advised Bild newspaper that the attackers used carpet knives. Surgeons on the hospital stitched up the sufferer’s wounds. He was nonetheless being handled by medical doctors on Wednesday morning, however in line with the district workplace, he suffered solely accidents.

A spokesman described the assault as an assault by left-wing extremists. This data has not but been formally confirmed. “We are shocked and appalled,” AfD regional chairman Markus Frohnmaier mentioned.

Mannheim police have up to now solely confirmed their involvement within the incident. More data will likely be launched later.

On the final day of May, a brutal stabbing occurred in Mannheim. Afghan Sulaiman Attai (25) killed a police officer and injured a number of others. The goal of the assault was Islamic critic Michael Sturzenberger (59).

Police Chief Ruben L. (†29) died Sunday afternoon after a number of days of battle. Doctors fought for his life, however finally his coronary heart stopped beating.

A heroic police officer was stabbed a number of occasions within the neck by an Afghan man throughout a brutal assault. Another officer stopped the attacker with gunfire.

His demise has sparked a debate over whether or not the Federal Republic also needs to deport criminals to nations it considers unsafe for migration and migrant integration, reminiscent of Afghanistan and Syria.

Media Smears Fail To Deflate Farmers at Brussels Rally

Photo: @MCC_Brussels on X, 4 June 2024.

A Dutch-led effort to take the plight of European farmers to the door of EU lawmakers saw over a thousand farmers and their tractors gather in the northern Brussels suburb of Laeken on Tuesday. A pan-European coalition of farmers hope to, once and for all, cripple Commission President Ursula von der Leyen’s Green Deal.

Building on the momentum of previous protests, which have taken various European capitals by storm, farmers assembled in the shadow of Brussels’ iconic Atomium shortly before midday. Populist politicians and farming groups addressing the crowd spoke of their industry being strangled by a combination of EU technocracy, green overregulation, and cheap imports.

The day’s events were calm as delegations of Polish, Spanish, Italian, and even Romanian farmers mingled and discussed the coming months. In contrast to the media attempts to smear protesting farmers with accusations of right-wing extremism, the gathering showed concerned ordinary farmers just fighting for their livelihood against an overbearing authority.

“Von der Leyen wants to talk about you, not with you,” declared Dutch farmer Sieta van Keimpema on stage. She went on to decry EU double standards that incentivize imports from abroad, all the while strangling native European industry.

Other speakers linked the struggle of farmers to wider issues of mass immigration, demographic change, COVID lockdowns, and the influence of the World Economic Forum on EU Commission policy making. Speakers from former Soviet countries repeatedly drew on their personal experiences with communism when attacking the EU’s Green Deal.

The importance of agriculture in Europe’s social and cultural life was underlined by Vlaams Belang MEP Tom Vandendriessche, who described farmers as the “backbone of society.”

“With the world on the brink of a world war, farming is more important than ever,” proclaimed Dutch Farmers Defense Force leader Mark van den Oever. Van den Oever formed the group in May 2019 to fight the occupation of a pig farm by animal activists.

The day’s events finished shortly before 4 p.m., with a handful of tractors making their way to Brussels’ EU district for a symbolic blockade outside the Commission and EU Parliament buildings.

Poorly thought-out green policies, the flow of cheap agricultural products from a war-torn Ukraine, and the risk posed by free trade agreements with Latin America have all fueled a summer of anger among European farmers.

Today’s action was part of a wider effort by farmers to highlight agricultural issues less than a week before EU elections. A simultaneous joint effort by French and Spanish farmers closed the frontier between the two countries in protest against green policies and the risk of the Mercosur free trade agreement.

After Mannheim Islamic terror attack, Germany’s left-liberal parties call for more immigration from Syria and Afghanistan at migration summit

Following a brutal attack by an illegal Afghan migrant in Mannheim that resulted in a German police officer losing his life and an anti-Islam politician being sent to the hospital, Germany’rs ruling left-liberal parties are calling for even more immigration from Syria and Afghanistan.

A day after the death of police officer Rouven L., a migration conference was held in the Paul Löbe House in the Bundestag, the German parliament, where the ruling left-liberal parties primarily ignored the terror attack in Mannheim and focused on how to boost migrants from countries like Afghanistan.

During the conference, Development Aid Minister Svenja Schulze (SPD) called for more migrants from Syria, Afghanistan and other countries to continue to arrive in Germany; however, she said more aid must also be provided locally to support countries of the Global South.

The threat of Islamism in the country played no role at the conference whatsoever, according to the report from Welt.

Social Democrat (SPD) parliamentary group leader Rolf Mützenich instead warned of a “split in the country” over immigration policy.

Other prominent speakers, such as the Federal Government’s Special Representative for Migration Agreements Joachim Stamp, of the pro-business Free Democrats (FDP), even called for a halt on all deportations to countries like Afghanistan, saying that deportations are impossible “if butchers like Assad rule there.”

Deliver a “positive migration narrative”

Stamp says the German court system will not go along with any deportation to Syria either. Under Germany’s new far-left immigration law, every migrant facing deportation will be able to file a lawsuit against their deportation, which could end up leaving murderers and rapists in the country for years, with costly trials at the expense of German taxpayers.

The same FDP politician says the way to counter criticism of mass immigration, which is hitting record numbers in Germany and has led to a record amount of violent crime, is instead to deliver a “positive migration narrative” to society.

‘These countries have a large surplus of young people’

He said he was personally working on gaining more young people from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan to migrate to Germany. Kyrgyzstan, for instance, has a population that is 85 percent Muslim.

“These countries have a large surplus of young people, so we are not taking anything away from anyone,” said Stamp.

Notably, the German public completely rejects this position.

As Remix News reported in October of last year, an Insa poll found hat that 71.1 percent of respondents believe immigrants from countries with a strong Islamic influence pose a “security risk for Germany.” On the contrary, only 9.1 percent answered in the negative. Another 19.8 percent gave no answer.

The poll also shows that 57.7 percent of Germans say they are convinced there are “many” Muslims in Germany who support terror against Israel, while 18.1 percent reject this assertion. Another 24.2 percent did not provide an answer.

Taking it even further, another Insa poll conducted just last month showed that an absolute majority of 52 percent rather agree with the statement that “Germany should generally no longer accept refugees from Islamic countries.” Only 34 percent “disagree” or “tend to disagree” with this statement.

The poll further shows that 54 percent of respondents said they were “afraid that Germans will become a minority in Germany.” On the other hand, 37 percent said they were not concerned.

A relative majority also supports the theory of the Great Replacement, which the domestic intelligence agency the Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) classifies as a “right-wing extremist” viewpoint. According to the poll, 45 percent of respondents agree with the statement: “I believe that Europeans are gradually being replaced by immigrants from Africa and the Middle East.” A smaller number of people, 41 percent, reject this statement.

Two-Thirds of Unemployment Benefits in Germany Go to . . .Where exactly is Germany going with this?

Wir schaffen das!” — “We can do this” — was former Chancellor Angela Merkel’s claim in 2015, when she opened wide the doors to more than a million Muslim immigrants that year. In other words, “we can integrate these people, we can make them part of our society.” One more bit of evidence that Merkel was woefully wrong in her cheery optimism: it turns out that instead of those Muslim migrants becoming productive citizens contributing to the country’s economy, many of them instead have remained recipients of welfare benefits of all kinds for years beyond what Merkel anticipated. They receive free or greatly subsidized housing, free medical care, free education (or vocational training), family allowances, unemployment benefits (even without an employment record in Germany) and more. It has now come to light that migrants now receive two-thirds of the unemployment benefits paid out by the state. More on this disturbing statistic can be found here: “Two-thirds of unemployment benefit recipients in Germany are migrants as cost to taxpayer skyrockets by 122% since 2010,” by Thomas Brooke, Remix News, May 21, 2024:

Nearly two-thirds of German residents receiving unemployment benefits have a migration background, new figures from the Federal Employment Agency have revealed.

The statistics published by the federal agency and cited by the Die Welt broadsheet showed that 63.1 percent of those in receipt of the so-called citizen’s income, or “Bürgergeld,” are of migrant origin, and “most do not have a German passport.”

The German newspaper explained that while employment figures are increasing year-over-year, “because the Federal Republic has long allowed very high immigration of low-skilled people, the number of migrants who are unemployed and receiving social benefits is also increasing.”…

Why did the German government allow in the low-skilled and uneducated migrants, who were almost certain to fail in an advanced economy like that of Germany? These are the people least likely to be hired, most likely to be fired, and consequently those most likely to be unemployed. The Federal Republic could have required would-be immigrants to have attained a certain educational level, or proof of vocational training in certain skills needed in the German economy, but instead the government let in, without distinction, anyone able to make it across the German border.

In 2013, the percentage of the German population with a migration background was 20 percent, with 43 percent of benefit recipients being migrants. Today, 29 percent of the German population are foreign-born and 63 percent of unemployment benefits are handed to migrants….

The foreign-born population in Germany inexorably rises: from 20% in 2013 to 29% today, or a 50% rise in little more than a decade. And there is a concomitant rise in the percentage of benefit recipients who are foreign-born, from 43% in 2013 to 63%— nearly two-thirds — today.

The number of German recipients of welfare benefits has been halved since 2010. The Germans are famously hard-working, unafraid to retrain where necessary in new fields, like solar energy and the production of electric vehicles, so as to possess the skills necessary in a rapidly changing economy. But the largely unskilled foreign nationals seem stuck in a rut of their own making. They are happy to pocket the generous welfare benefits provided by the state, which only decreases their motivation to work. During the same 15-year-period when German unemployment has halved, the number of foreign nationals receiving welfare payments has doubled. Clearly, the Germans have been admitting the wrong kind of immigrants.

Instead of admitting immigrants without distinction, René Springer of the anti-mass migration party AfD says that the government needs to change its immigration policy, to admit only the educated and the highly skilled, who can at once become productive members of the society. The guiding principle, he suggests, is to make sure that the government’s immigration policy does not allow in those who will at once be recipients of the cornucopia of welfare benefits that the generous German state provides. He also suggests that the guaranteed income known as “Burgergeld” should be abolished, as it acts merely as a “magnet” for more immigrants to choose to come to Germany.

The German immigration policy should also take into account those who, experience shows, have the most difficulty in integrating into Germany society. Muslims by and large do not integrate into Western societies; they regard the indigenous Germans as Infidels who, as the Qur’an instructs, are “the most vile of created beings.” How can they, the Muslims who know that they are the “best of peoples,” possibly want to live according to laws and rules set down by such people? They pocket every welfare benefit they can, unashamedly, for they regard those benefits from the German state as a kind of proleptic jizyah.

Here is how Germany might reform its immigration laws:

First, it could insist that immigrants have at least a high-school education, and proof of a marketable skill, such as is needed in electrical work, plumbing, construction.

Second, it could make immigrants ineligible to receive the“Burgergeld.”

Third, it could restrict access to welfare benefits, by prohibiting immigrants from receiving them during the first five years of their residence in Germany.

Fourth, the state should end the policy of family reunification, that has allowed Muslims in particular to bring in their large extended families. No “anchor” immigrants will be allowed to bring in, after they have been admitted, dozens of people who are claimed to be family relatives.

Fifth, quickly deport back to their countries of origin any migrants convicted of a crime, after they have served their sentences. If the sentence is a short one, less than three years, don’t even bother to imprison them; just deport them. That will be punishment enough.

That’s what I would call a good start.

UK Trans Activist Avoids Jail After Threatening To Murder JK Rowling, MP Rosie Duffield

A UK trans activist found guilty of sending threatening messages to author JK Rowling and Labour MP Rosie Duffield has now been sentenced. Glenn Mullen, 31, avoided jail as his eight-week prison sentence was suspended for two years.

Mullen, a Manchester-based trans activist, was arrested and charged with issuing violent threats to the two women which he sent in January of last year. Reduxx were among the first to identify Mullen, and immediately sent the details of his identity to Police Scotland once aware of them.

While police initially refused to comment on his arrest, they later confirmed that Mullen was behind a series of violent messages sent from a social media account named “gaymon de vaslayra.”

The threats were issued just ahead of a planned women’s rights demonstration in Glasgow, and included Mullen posting audio recordings of himself threatening the women in the Gaelic language. X users translated the audio, revealing the nature of the threats.

In one audio, Mullen threatened Member of Parliament Rosie Duffield, making a statement which was roughly translated to: “I am going to see Rosie Duffield at the bar with a big gun. I hate her so much. Many thanks.”

Mullen sent additional verbal audio threats to Harry Potter author JK Rowling, where he similarly spoke in Gaelic and said: “I’m going to kill JK Rowling with a big hammer. JK Rowling is very horrible, and I hate her so much.”

It has now been reported that Mullen has claimed that he posted the messages in Gaelic as he thought “nobody would be able to read them.”

During journalistic investigations into the identity of the source of the frightening messages, Reduxx revealed Mullen’s frequent targeting of women who held views critical of gender ideology.

Among them, Mullen had posted fantasies to social media involving multiple women, including Kellie-Jay Keen Minshull (aka Posie Parker), being hit car at a Standing For Women event in Glasgow. In posts sent from the same account as the ones targeting JK Rowling, Mullen stated:

“I sure would HATE it if someone took their car to glasgow and hit p*sie p*rker and friends with their car! What an awful thing it would be, that I would hate! Me watching the country’s leading defenders of women and girls exploding like bin bags full of baked beans on your windshield:oh no!” [typos Mullen’s own].

It is unclear if these other messages were part of the police charges.

Following his arrest, JK Rowling described to a court that in wake of the messages she had to increase her personal security, with the “credible” threats prompting her to “look over her shoulder and worry for the safety of her family and children.”

Rowling has also been reported as telling the court that Mullen “seems to pride himself and be proud of himself over the threats of violence he is making.”

The threats also took a toll on Rosie Duffield, who is the Labour MP for Canterbury. Duffield explained the impact the threats had on her to the court, noting that she felt “nervous” carrying out her duties in public. The prosecutor in the case detailed the fear, stating: “[Duffield] feared that someone would act with hostility or violence, causing her great concern.”

Mullen admitted to the two charges of conveying threatening messages, contrary to the Malicious Communications Act. After Mullen was bailed for sentencing, Westminster chief magistrate Paul Goldspring said that Mullen would get credit for his early guilty plea, but declined to remand him to immediate custody.

Goldspring ultimately agreed that the threats occurred in “isolation,” and that Mullen had “strong views about gender equality. Quite appropriately so.”

Hours ago, a release from the Cyber/Online Crime unit at the Crown Prosecution Service announced Mullen’s sentence of eight weeks imprisonment, suspended for two years. This means Mullen will not serve any immediate jail time, and will simply have conditions he is expected to abide by within the two year period. If he is found in violation, he may have to serve his sentence in prison.

Mullen was also given a 12-month Community Order with 150 hours unpaid work and 20 Rehabilitation days. Additionally, he was financially penalized and ordered to pay “£85 costs and a £154 victim surcharge.”

The suspended nature of the sentence may be linked to the judge saying in a pre-sentencing report that Mullen poses no danger to the public.

It is reported that following Mullen’s arrest, he was fired from his job but has since been hired for a £30,000 per year marketing job in Manchester.

In their release, the Crown Prosecution Service quoted John Moran, Senior Crown Prosecutor for CPS North West, who stated: “The messages uploaded to social media were targeted and very concerning. The audio clips have had a significant impact on the two victims, who described feeling upset, worried and distressed when they heard them.”

Moran concluded: “Nobody has the right to issue threats or abuse, whether that be in person or via social media.”

France: Three people planned a violent action against an internet user who had published a ‘blasphemous post against Islam’

On May 28, three people were arrested in Nîmes (Gard) following a police operation, as reported by Midi Libre. They were placed under judicial supervision and charged with ‘terrorist criminal organisation’. The operation had been ordered by the Paris anti-terrorism prosecutor’s office.
All three had plotted an act of violence against an Internet user who, in their opinion, had made statements labelled ‘offensive or blasphemous to Islam’. Of the three people arrested, two are minors.

The identity of the threatened user is not known, nor is the content of the statements he is alleged to have posted. As they were shared publicly, they were read by the three suspects, who are believed to have been radicalised. The investigations are intended to look into these issues and clarify the exact motives for the intention to attack a user, but are being conducted in absolute secrecy.

The investigation was launched in July 2023 after the secret service intervened in a flat in the Hauts-de-Seine department. Footage seized at the time led to the indictment of six suspects in the greater Paris area. An arrest warrant has already been issued for five of them.

Serbian Populists Win Belgrade Elections AGAIN, to the Despair of the MSM and Globalists

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

All over the world, any government or leader that does not share the same Globalist principles to the letter is subjected to endless scrutiny, non-stop allegations, and harassment.

Take the Serbian populist government, for example.

After President Aleksandar Vucic’s party won the municipal election for Belgrade mayor in December, a season of protest was held, with the usual suspect Western NGOs and ‘Watchdogs’ denouncing irregularities.

Well, the elections for capital Belgrade were re-done, and AGAIN, the Government won, to the chagrin and revolt of the liberal Globalists in Serbia and abroad.

Serbia’s victory over the opposition happened in a vote for Belgrade city council and partial local elections across the country.

The electoral process was marked by scuffles between opposition and government supporters.

Migration Debate Dominates Germany Ahead of EU Elections as Migrant Knifeman Revealed to Have Been a Failed Asylum Seeker

The migrant who stabbed a police officer to death and injured five others at an anti-Islamification rally last week in Germany has been revealed to be a failed asylum seeker, sparking a national debate on migration ahead of the European Parliament elections.

“Sulaiman A.”, the suspected Islamist terrorist who launched a frenzied and fatal attack with a combat-style knife at a rally in Mannheim against the increased impacts of immigration from the Islamic world by activist Michael Stürzenberger, first came to the country from Afghanistan in 2013, German paper of record Welt reports.

The paper claimed to have been provided with official documents which said that his request for asylum status was rejected in July of 2014. However, authorities failed to deport him. Nine years later the government granted the would-be attacker a temporary residence permit under Section 28 of the Residence Act after he had a child with a woman with German citizenship.

Welt also reports that starting in 2020, Sulainman changed his appearance “significantly” and grew a full beard. Evidence also suggests that he had begun to post jihadist content online, including videos featuring the words of the late radical Islamist Afghan preacher and former Taliban commander Ahmad Zahir Aslamiyar, whose video clips and audio messages are reportedly widely shared by members of the Islamic State of Khorasan terrorist network.

During the attack, in which the failed asylum seeker stabbed Stürzenberger and four other participants at the rally, before stabbing a police officer in the neck — ultimately killing the officer — Sulainman was shot by another officer.

The attacker has since been incapacitated in hospital and therefore — despite being charged with murder — has not been interviewed by investigators so no official motive has been made available. However, authorities said this week that an Islamist motive is being assumed and that the Federal Prosecutor General is taking over the case, as is typical in cases of terrorism.

The attack by the Afghan migrant, video of which was widely circulated on social media, has sparked a national debate in Germany and looks to play an important role in shaping how the people vote in the European Parliament elections this weekend.

Immigration was already front of mind for many Germans even before Friday’s attack, with a recent survey conducted for German television programme Tagesschau finding that “refugee, asylum and integration policy” was among the top two problems cited by 41 per cent of the public.

The revelations of the government’s role in failing to prevent the attack and its role in radically transforming the country through open borders policies may be a boon for the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, which unlike other European populist parties has struggled as of late following a number of scandals, with a snap poll in the wake of the attack seeing the party falling to third place in national popularity polls at 15.5 after surging last year to over 20 per cent.

However, foreign policy expert at the University of Cologne, Thomas Jäger said that the attack will likely boost the AfD, telling the Bild newspaper: “The attack in Mannheim is helping the party because one of its most important issues is once again the focus of attention,” adding that migration is “an issue with which it has repeatedly been able to ignite the anger of its voters.”

Andreas Rödder of the University of Mainz also noted: “The more problems related to migration become visible, the more support there will be for the parties that promise to remedy the situation. I doubt that the centrist parties have understood what is brewing here.”

In a joint statement following the Mannheim attack, AfD leaders Tino Chrupalla and Alice Weidel said: “The violence against all citizens must be stopped. The Alternative for Germany wants secure borders and Fortress Europe. Immigration from Afghanistan must be stopped and repatriations must be initiated. In order to make this effort possible, the federal Government must finally enter into diplomatic exchanges with the Afghan government.”

Apparently in an effort to stave off a potential AfD surge, the governing Social Democrats (SPD) of Chancellor Olaf Scholz picked up on the suggestion to begin deportations to Afghanistan after previously refusing to send back foreign criminals to the country following the takeover of the country by the Taliban in the wake of U.S. President Joe Biden’s disastrous military withdrawal in 2021.

SPD Senator Andy Grote has proposed a plan that would allow the government to deport foreign criminals to their homelands, regardless of whether their home country is considered safe or not, meaning that migrants could be sent back to both Afghanistan and Syria. The proposal has reportedly received the backing of SPD Interior Minister Nancy Faeser as well as the SPD parliamentary group in the Bundestag.

The measure has also been backed by Christian Democratic Union (CDU) General Secretary Carsten Linnemann, who said that the government must be able to deport criminals “even to Afghanistan”.

“Until now, we have seen such attacks mainly in France, where political Islam already dominates entire districts,” Linnemann said, but admitted that Germany now also has a “massive” Islamist problem. The centrist politician also admitted that aknowledged that his party “made mistakes” on immigration in a reference to the record of former CDU Chancellor Angela Merkel, who unilaterally opened the gates of Europe to mass migration from the Middle East and Africa, sparking the European Migrant Crisis in 2015. Linnemann said that he hopes that the public believes that the party has since changed and do not make “protest” votes by backing the AfD.

Yet, the political and media class has come under fire in the wake of the attack in Mannheim for the appearing to have been more outraged by videos of young Germans in Sylt singing a dance club song with the amended lyrics “Foreigners out, Germany for Germans” than the killing of a police officer by a failed asylum seeker.

Free Democratic Party of Germany (FDP) member of the Bundestag Wolfgang Kubicki said: “Mannheim is much worse than Sylt – but not everyone seems to realise that… This Islamist wanted to kill the police officer deliberately and out of hatred. Such crimes massively shake people’s trust in our legal system.”
