Chief public prosecutor Dominik Mies: ‘The civil courage of the passers-by deserves special praise. This and the excellent police work led to the quick arrest of the suspect, possibly preventing worse things from happening.”
A magistrate sent Mohammad Zaman A. to pre-trial detention.

France: ‘Dirty Jews, we will kill you, long live Palestine’, customers of a kosher shop in Créteil are threatened with death

Customers at a kosher grocery shop in Créteil in the Val-de-Marne department were subjected to anti-Semitic death threats at around 5.50pm on Monday June 10.

An employee reported to officers from the local anti-crime brigade (Bac) that two people had entered the shop and shouted: ‘Dirty Jews, we will kill you, long live Palestine, down with the Jews’.

A scuffle followed to drive away the perpetrators, who are still on the run, a police source told Valeurs actuelles. The incident was filmed. There was no property damage or injuries in the incident. A police report is to be filed.

Angry over European Parliament election results, Leftists protest against Right-wing party in France, run riots, and raise pro-Palestine slogans

After the right-wing National Rally (Rassemblement National, RN) defeated President Macron’s Renaissance party with 31.5% of the vote in the European Parliament elections, hundreds of far-left supporting people staged a protest in Paris on Monday.

The protestors gathered outside the French Parliament and raised slogans against the victorious right-wing party National Rally. The demonstrators also raised pro-Palestine slogans during the protest.

Thousands of leftists gathered in Rennes, Nantes, and Rouen to push for a far-left ‘Popular Front’ to fight against the conservative National Rally in the parliamentary elections set to be held later this month. In Rennes, over 2,500 people protested against the right wing’s rise and chanted pro “popular front” [Front Populaire] slogans calling for the far-left to unite against the right wing. The protestors largely included left-wing parties, ecologists and trade unions.

In Nantes, more than 1,000 people rallied on Monday screaming slogans like “La jeunesse emmerde le RN” (“Youth f*cks with the RN”) and “Votre haine, notre révolte” (“Your hatred, our revolt”). The leftist protestors began a march in the city in the evening with a banner reading “revolution or barbarism”.

Meanwhile, in Rouen, over 800 people rallied against the right-wing party. The slogans chanted were “Young people f*ck the Front National” and “Everyone hates the Front National.”  In Bordeaux and some other places, the protest took a violent turn and the police had to control the situation.

On Monday, French students gathered at Paris’ Henri IV High School to protest the right-wing party’s triumph in the European Parliament. Protesters blocked the building’s entrance, brandishing banners and chanting slogans against the conservative party and President Macron.

The left-wing protesting against the rise of right-wing in France indicates that as is the common trait in leftists across the world, it is a democracy only when the Left wins and it dies when their opponents emerge victorious.

Macron dissolves Parliament, announces snap elections

This came after President Emmanuel Macron dissolved France’s lower chamber of parliament, sending voters back to the elections in the coming days to elect MPs following his party’s humiliating defeat by the right-wing party in the European Parliament elections on the 9th of June. The declaration came as the provisional results from France showed the far-right National Rally party far ahead in the European Union’s parliamentary elections, giving Macron’s pro-European centrists an embarrassing disappointment.

While the Rassemblement National (National Rally) received 31.37% votes, Marcon’s Renaissance Party and its coalition Besoin d’Europe got just 14.60% votes.

Warmongering Macron must be punished at French snap election, claims Marine Le Pen

French President Emmanuel Macron has been punished for using war as a political tool against his rivals, his former presidential rival and president of the National Rally (RN) party group in the National Assembly, Marine Le Pen, has claimed.

The party stormed to victory in the European elections on Sunday. Le Pen has accused the French president of “doing everything he can to increase the pressure, which could lead to an escalation tomorrow,” referring to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

The firebrand nationalist previously described Macron’s policy of war as a huge communication failure.

“War is serious! The Ukrainian people are experiencing it, and we cannot use it to try to trap our opponents!” Le Pen said, suggesting that Macron may be deliberately stoking tensions over the Russia-Ukraine war so that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not know how far the West is prepared to go.

Nosta Lgia

However, in the European Parliament elections, the National Rally won a landslide victory, with Macron’s centrist coalition coming a distant second. In response, Emmanuel Macron announced the dissolution of the French National Assembly and called a snap election for later this month.

Experts say that Marine Le Pen’s party is the favorite to win the election, which could cast a different light on France’s war plans.

Gergely Fejérdy, chief political analyst of Hungary’s Foreign Policy Institute, told Hungarian daily Magyar Nemzet that in the wake of RN’s European election victory, Le Pen’s party’s popularity should propel it to be the largest power in the new parliament following the early elections Macron was forced to call.

He said that while the previous pattern showed that Le Pen’s party could not convert its European success into national politics, this time could be different.

“This could be an exception because there is a lot of indignation and internal discontent in France against Macron’s policies,” Gergely Fejérdy stressed.

The party is expected to be the first and largest party in the National Assembly, but the big question is whether it can form a coalition with anyone.

Talks took place between Le Pen, her party’s president Jordan Bardella, and Marion Maréchal, lead candidate of rival right-wing group Reconquête, on Monday night over plans to form a united front ahead of the elections to ensure a right-wing majority parliament.

Islamic State Terrorists Planned to Attack Liberal Berlin Mosque, Says Prosecutor

Screen grab youtube

A liberal, women-led Berlin mosque known as a haven for gay Muslims was a target for an Islamic State terror cell in Germany, prosecutors say as the group goes to court.

A group of seven immigrants arrested in 2023 across Germany and the Netherlands will soon see their day in court, and German prosecutors allege before their incarceration the men prepared to build bombs and researched targets including a liberal mosque, Jewish citizens, and a fair.

The men, who originated in Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan came to Germany from Ukraine as part of the refugee flow that immediately followed the Russian invasion in 2022. One of the group is alleged to have led an Islamic State terrorist cell in Kyiv, Ukraine, and some of the group are said to have already killed in Ukraine, including by beating. Members of the group have allegedly had contact with Islamic State figures elsewhere in the world who launched successful terror attacks, or who were arrested while in the planning phase.

Now the German prosecutor claims this group of seven discussed the liberal Ibn-Rushd-Goethe Mosque in Berlin as a target in July 2022. They are also alleged to have monitored Jews to learn their daily routines. Die Welt, a German broadsheet which claims to have seen the prosecutor’s court documents, notes the group had experimented with building a suitcase bomb, some had received military training from the Islamic State, and that members of the group were already under unfulfilled deportation orders.

Despite the claims, it appears that no concrete plans for an attack were in place at the time of the arrests and these allegations are yet to be tested in court.

The Ibn-Rushd-Goethe Mosque in Berlin reportedly targeted by the group was founded by Seyran Ates, a Muslim woman who has lived under 24-hour police protection for ten years, such is the threat to her life from fundamentalist Islam. The mosque is known for being one of the few where men and women can worship together, and where homosexuals are also welcomed.

German Humanist nonprofit HPD notes the mosque has come under increased threat of late since it was described as a “place of devil worship” by Islamic State propaganda.

Trudeau again says nothing after another church suspiciously burns to the ground in Canada

St. Anne’s Anglican Church burns in Toronto.

In December 2015, I attended a concert at St. Anne’s Anglican Church in Toronto. It featured a selection of Vivaldi’s sacred music titled “Beatus vir”—the first words in the Latin Vulgate Bible of both Psalm 1 and Psalm 112 — and it was the first time the selection had been performed outside of Europe. The orchestra and choir were breathtaking, especially in the historic church that featured stunning murals painted by members of the Group of Seven on the dome — the only religious art the renowned artists ever produced.

On Sunday, during the early morning hours, a four-alarm fire ripped through the historic church. Built in 1908, the Byzantine-style building burned almost to the ground in a matter of hours. Flames shooting through the roof confirmed what many suspected: Everything is gone. “There’s no indication that anything was saved at this point,” Toronto Fire Services spokesman Deepak Chagger told the press. The murals by Group of Seven artists (as well as other prominent Canadians) were described as “invaluable.”

“The artwork was priceless,” Father Don Beyers, rector of St. Anne’s, told the press. “It was murals, beautiful murals. They were stunning. This was the only church that featured artwork by the Group of Seven. And I’m sorry to say that’s been lost, from what I can see.” The murals on the dome and in the chancel were commissioned by the church in 1923 and included work by J.E.H. Macdonald, Franklin Carmichael, and Frederick Varley.

“This is an extraordinary loss,” Beyers said after the firefighters extinguished the blaze mid-Sunday morning. “Not only was the art important, but the church itself was important architecturally. It was one of the rare Anglican churches that was in the Byzantine style, an Eastern Christian style.” Councillor Alejandra Bravo, who represents the ward, noted that residents of the Little Portugal neighborhood where the church once stood were expressing enormous “grief” over a site “that we cannot replace in Canada and in the world.”

Authorities have not yet announced any theory as to how the blaze began, but the fire was already raging through the building by the time fire crews arrived on Sunday morning, and firefighters had to pull out of the building quickly due to risk of collapse. Father Beyers expressed bewilderment as to how the fire started. “Nobody was here, the church was locked, secure, all the lights were off,” he said. “It’s a real mystery to us how this even happened.” He is usually the first one to arrive at the church in the morning.

We do not yet know what started the conflagration that leveled St. Anne’s — a designated National Historic Site — but it is worth noting that over 100 churches have been vandalized or torched since 2021, when the press began to push the story of a “mass grave” near a residential school in Kamloops. Of those, 33 burned to the ground. Back in January, I noted that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had yet to dedicate a single speech to the unprecedented attacks on Canadian churches — but that when the number of churches attacked was at 68, Trudeau appointed a special representative to combat Islamophobia; when the count was at 83, the Liberal and NDP Members of Parliament at the Indigenous and Northern Affairs Committee voted to adjourn to avoid considering a motion put forward by a Conservative MP denouncing the destruction of churches.

Indeed, Trudeau has yet to comment on the destruction of the “Group of Seven” church burning down. He did, however, send out another tweet condemning Islamophobia yesterday nearly 12 hours after the fire at St. Anne’s was put out, noting that “Canadians have seen how dangerous and ugly Islamophobia is” and that “We have to keep confronting it — wherever and whenever we see it.” We do not yet know for certain that St. Anne’s was burned down like dozens of other churches over the past several years, but there is something hauntingly appropriate about Canada’s historic churches burning down at this point in her history.

I suspect St. Anne’s will not be the last — and our leaders seem perfectly content to fiddle while the cathedrals burn.

German left-wing government hires Muslim bank robber for propaganda against alleged fake news

Xatar, Screen grab youtube

Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser (53, SPD) wants to tackle disinformation on the internet with a new campaign. Its name: ‘Fake Train’. For the streaming format (available on Amazon Freevee, among others), fake news experts analyse the internet for false reports. One of Faeser’s experts is the convicted gold robber and gangster rapper Xatar (43).
The 1.90 metre Iranian, whose real name is Giware Hajabi (43), robbed a gold transporter on the A81 motorway in Baden-Württemberg in 2009. He brutally tied up the drivers and fled with gold worth 1.8 million via Moscow to Iraq. After he was tracked down there and transferred to Germany, he was sentenced to eight years in prison in Stuttgart for aggravated robbery, grievous bodily harm and deprivation of liberty. So far there is no trace of the gold.
Xatar, on the other hand, has now reappeared. In the trailer for the federal government programme ‘Fake Train’. There, the Federal Agency for Civic Education advertises its six 30-minute episodes, four of which are already online: ‘The Fake Train travels on schedule through the vastness of the internet and stops whenever disinformation prevents us from travelling further.’

How did it come about that Xatar works for the Federal Institute for Civic Education? Their spokesperson told newspaper BILD: ‘Fake Train works with a variety of people in order to appeal to as broad a target group as possible. The twelve participants therefore come from the fields of music, e.g. rapper Xatar, singer Milano and singer Naomi Jon, social media, reality TV and comedy.’
Also taking part: comedian Parshad Esmaeili (27), who writes sketches for Jan Böhmermann (43), and actor Nico Stank (34). Strange: In the government programme, he talks about his small body size and even brags about his allegedly large penis.
The programme is hosted by angry Youtuber Rezo (31), who became famous nationwide in 2019 when he called for the ‘destruction of the CDU’ in an online appeal ahead of the 2019 European elections. He did so because he felt the party was doing too little for climate protection. He then indirectly recommended his viewers to vote for the Greens and the Left Party.

How could someone like Rezo, who is so biased, be chosen for what is actually an impartial platform? The spokesperson for the Federal Agency for Civic Education told BILD: ‘Because the commissioned production company successfully submitted the project to us as part of a public competition with Rezo as the presenter.’
Manfred Pentz (44, CDU, Hesse’s Minister for Federal and European Affairs) to BILD: ‘Presenting gangster rapper Xatar as an ambassador of truth and balance is highly questionable. It gives a deep insight into what the traffic light government thinks of young people. Having a convicted criminal comment on the rule of law is like having Putin explain democracy.”

Viennese primary school children: Already more Muslims than Catholics

Screen grab youtube

They are now the largest religious group in Vienna’s primary schools: a third of girls and boys are Muslim. Only one in five children is Catholic. City Councillor for Education Christoph Wiederkehr (NEOS) is therefore in favour of a new school subject ‘Democracy’ instead of compulsory religious education.
The current figures were collected by the Department of Education at public primary schools and therefore do not include the approximately ten per cent of public schools. According to the figures, 35 per cent of primary school pupils are Muslim, 26 per cent are of no religion, 21 per cent are Catholic, 13 per cent are Orthodox and two per cent are Protestant or belong to another denomination. If one takes charter schools into account, the proportion of Muslims would probably fall slightly, sociologist Kenan Güngör told journalists on Tuesday.

Compared to the 2016/17 school year, the percentages have thus shifted significantly – although the figures were collected differently back then and are not directly comparable; there were some gaps. According to data from the city school council at the time, seven years ago 31 per cent were Catholic, 28 per cent Muslim and 17 per cent of no religious denomination.

In view of these figures, Wiederkehr renewed his call for ‘Living in a democracy’ lessons to be compulsory for all pupils from the first year of primary school. This should teach democracy, values and ethics as well as knowledge about all recognised religions. In contrast, a separate religion subject should only be added to the timetable on request.

Wiederkehr believes that the current structure with ethics lessons only from upper secondary school onwards and only if religion is opted out of is fundamentally wrong. However, a change can only be made via a federal law – and here he has already been repeatedly rejected by the ÖVP and the Greens. ‘But I am very persistent in this regard.’

In his opinion, the new course on democracy instead of religion should be introduced throughout Austria, even if the high number of Muslim children is primarily an urban phenomenon. Within Muslims, there is an increased proportion of people who treat other groups with contempt – such as Jews, LGBTIQ people or women. However, tendencies to devalue other groups are independent of religion – see right-wing extremism – and dealing with democracy and values is relevant for all children in Austria. ‘But of course you can set different priorities.’
Güngör sees several parallel developments in schools. Due to the high level of immigration from the Islamic-Arabic region, more people are coming into the country who tend to be more religious – which in itself and at most schools is not yet a major problem. In some locations, however, there are certain ideas of superiority based on religion.

At the same time, scepticism towards Islam has increased in society. ‘Muslim pupils are naturally aware of this.’ They therefore feel more protected in schools with a high proportion of Muslims. However, it is precisely there that there are these tendencies to devalue those of other faiths. ‘We have to think both ways here.’ This polarisation must be tackled.

‘Artist’ at Slade School in London Won’t Sell Her Work to Zionists

The absurdist news about a would-be prisoner-of-antisemitic conscience, whose daring act of support for the Palestinians consists in refusing to sell her artwork to Zionists, can be found here: “Arts School in London Urged to Investigate Student Refusing to Sell Artwork to Zionists,” by Shiryn Ghermezian, Algemeiner, May 29, 2024:

The Slade School of Fine Art in London has come under fire after one of its students said she refuses to sell her artwork to Zionists.

On May 20, Betty Ogún posted on her Instagram Story: “I will never, ever support genocide. I will not sell to Zionist collectors and I will continue to do what I can to support human rights, peace and equal rights for all. Free Palestine.”…

Nothing says “I support human rights, peace, and equal rights for all” so well as standing tall for Hamas, the terror group which crushes the human rights of the Palestinians it rules over in Gaza, wages endless war against Israel, and refuses to treat non-Muslims as equal to Muslims. As for “genocide” that brave Betty Ogún will ”never, ever support,” that’s nice to know, but does she realize that the IDF, too, “will never, ever support genocide,” as is shown by its conduct of the war in Gaza? In order to minimize civilian casualties, the IDF has made a colossal effort, by sending 16 million messages, making 15 million prerecorded calls and 100,000 personal phone calls, and dropping 9 million leaflets, to warn civilians in Gaza away from places and buildings that are about to be targeted. There is no “genocide” by the IDF in Gaza. The only attempt at “genocide” in the vicinity of Israel/Palestine has been that by the terror group Hamas, when 3,000 of its operatives smashed into Israel on October 7, burning children alive, mass-raping, torturing, mutilating, and murdering girls, slicing off the breasts of women and playing catch with them, cutting off the genitalia of men and in some cases, gouging out their eyes, before finally killing them. That is “genocide.”

Ogún exhibited her artwork at Slade’s 2024 BA/BFA degree show, which took place from May 17-23. She included a piece titled “River to Sea / Flower of Liberation,” which featured a textile in the shape of a flower that was designed in the colors of the pan-African and pan-Arab flags, Ogún explained in an Instagram post. The textile flower was green, red, black and white, and was displayed on a chair during the degree show.

The statement made by Ogún’s artwork shown at the degree show was none too subtle. One piece was titled “River to Sea,” which the world’s anti-Zionists have made famous as a sinister chant — “From the river to the sea/Palestine shall be free.” That is a call for the lone Jewish state to be destroyed and replaced by a 23rd Arab state. Betty Ogún is all for it. In her view, there is no place for Zionists anywhere. Jews are not entitled to a state of their own; they must leave “Palestine” and “return to the countries in Europe they came from.”

Aside from her titling one work “River to Sea,” there is also her choice of colors for her art work — red, black, green, and white — that is, the colors of the Palestinian flag, plus white. I’m only surprised she didn’t make the “bloody hand” symbol — alluding to the murders in Ramallah in 2000 of two Israelis, Vadim Nurzhitz and Yosef Abrahami — part of her oeuvre.

“Blooming flowers are often a symbol of hope, growth, regeneration and resilience,” Ogún said, elaborating on her intention behind the creation. “These colors signify my transparent solidarity as an artist with the rights of those experiencing oppression and genocide in countries that are represented by these colors, i.e. Palestine, Sudan. The flower, in its composition, will remind you of a watermelon, which is the Palestinian symbol of resilience. When you come to my show and sit in the chair with this textile piece, you are facing Palestine.”…

So much rodomontade and gibble-gabble by this ridiculous art student. That pretentious business about “hope, growth, regeneration and resilience.” Those colors that “signify my transparent solidarity as an artist with the rights of those experiencing oppression and genocide.” She fails to recognize that there is no “genocide” in “Israel/Palestine” save for that attempted by the terror group Hamas on October 7, and that greatest genocide in the world today is taking place in Sudan, with Arabs mass-murdering black Africans. That’s not something she cares to recognize.

UKFLI told The Algemeiner on Wednesday that four of Ogún’s photographs and paintings are being sold on the website of Saatchi Art, which describes itself as “the world’s leading online art gallery.” The gallery sells many artworks by Israeli artists, and is named after and owned by famed art collector Charles Saatchi, who was born in 1943 to a Jewish family in Iraq.

Is there not something hypocritical here? Ms. Ogún is selling four of her works on the website of Saatchi Art, owned by the art collector AND ZIONIST Charles Saatchi?

But a larger question remains: why are Jewish groups determined to force Ms. Ogún to allow Zionists to buy her art work? Who cares? What Zionist in his right mind would want to support the anti-Zionist and antisemitic Ms. Ogún? Don’t make a fuss over this. Forget, for the nonce, trying to enforce Section 29 of the UK’s Equalities Act 2010, which prohibits a person supplying goods to the public or a section of the public from discriminating against persons with protected characteristics by not supplying them. That’s fine to invoke if you are dealing with a case of a bakery or a department store refusing to sell to Jews (a/k/a Zionists). But art works are a different matter. Artists like the young, brain-addled and impecunious Ms. Ogún are desperate to sell.

Welcome her statement. And offer another one, only half-humorously, by way of retort: “We advise all those who support Israel not to buy any artwork offered by Betty Ogún. She boycotts Zionists and Zionists must boycott her.” You know which side will suffer.
