Eurovision: bring back the beautiful women and handsome men

Shortly after the Second World War, European nations decided that their only fields of future confrontation should be culture and sports. They thus established, among other things, a song contest called Eurovision.

I watched it last weekend. Forget music, forget song. Now it is just cultural and political polemics.

The song contest used to be a good time. It was based on the Italian national song contest at Sanremo, founded in 1951. The Italians served up beautiful women in beautiful clothes, handsome men, lots of brilliant singing.

Eurovision started that way. But now, seven decades later, all of that is gone – there are few glamorous women and dashing men singing sparkling songs.

This year’s Eurovision song contest was a disaster. Although it is supposed to be a non-political affair, deep rifts that torment today’s Europe manifested themselves in the process, causing controversy and derision.

To begin with, artistic meritocracy has been defenestrated. Eurovision was once about songs, now it has become mostly a show contest. It has become a selling platform for the radical progressive agenda. Namely, what usually wins the prize is adherence to the multicultural and LGBTQ+ causes.

The gender agenda has dominated the contest during the last two decades. Beautiful female artists were first side-lined by gay contestants. When eventually gay acts became the norm, transexuals took the lead. And this year, genders were abolished altogether, as the non-binary invasion took place.

(Information point for those still informed by the 1950s Sanremo dream: whereas a gay person, or even a transexual, accepts that genders do exist, either by affirming attraction to the same sex, or by transitioning from one gender to another, a non-binary person rejects the fundamental distinction between male and female.)

There were two non-binary entries in the 2024 Eurovision contest in Sweden. One of them won it with a song that was not the best among 37 entries.

The other one received high marks from the national jury committees, although its song was truly horrid – a hymn to Satan, therefore deeply insulting to Christians, which did not at all bother the European Broadcasting Union.

Committees of national broadcasting corporations give contestants half the total points, while the other half is awarded through televoting. The broadcasting executives’ decisions this year were in stark contrast to the popular vote. In fact, the executives very much resembled typical European ruling elites who champion causes against what most people want.

As for politics, it is difficult to avoid, even in a contest that says that it is adamant about not being political. The popular vote gave top marks to both Israel and Ukraine. The Dutch entry was disqualified, and several other countries hovered on the brink of quitting over reactions to the Gaza war. Russia and Belarus were banned a priori.

And is the gender agenda not political? It is more than obvious that radical liberalism and progressive ideas form the backbone of the Eurovision song contest’s aesthetic and moral approach to things. Inclusion, tolerance, migration and diversity have long been established as political notions.

So let us not be hypocritical. Eurovision is not only political, but it has nowadays become militantly biased. As an avant-garde launchpad of future trends, it tries to indoctrinate hundreds of millions of viewers.

Do we need such an institution? On the one hand, it is good that most countries of the old continent meet up once a year united by music. And surely, as a huge event, Eurovision is one of those things that cultivate a sense of European identity for the masses.

On the other hand, the contest should seriously consider changing its tune. It is not supposed, after all, to beat the drum for anything. A return to an event which puts singing back at the centre of attention would be music to our ears.

Known as the “butcher of Khan Younis”, Sinwar murdered twelve Palestinian Arabs with his own hands – and enjoyed it. This is the new hero of the spoiled useful idiots on US campuses

A dramatic new video released a few days ago showed the moment Noa Argamani, a 25-year-old Israeli girl, is blindfolded and taken to Gaza. The Daily Mail published it. Hamas took Argamani hostage while she was at the Nova music festival. Photos and videos of the kidnapping became among the best-known images of October 7.

In the new video of her, one of the terrorists can be seen putting a black hood on her head, Noa cries, squeezed between the bodies of two terrorists who are taking her away on a motorcycle, while the others around her insult and mock her.

Noa has been inside a tunnel in Gaza for over 216 days. It is difficult to imagine the rapes, harassment and humiliations she might have suffered. At best she ended up like Agam Goldstein-Almog, a 17-year-old Israeli girl who in Gaza was forced to wear a full veil and a long dress, was forced to always look at the ground, was forced to recite Islamic prayers and the terrorists gave her a name taken from the Koran, “Salsabil”. At worst, Noa ended up like Amit Soussana, raped by her captors in the tunnels.

Meanwhile, the excellent Heather MacDonald points out in the City Journal that the Western squares and campuses are full of women demonstrators. Women everywhere.

Mother Nature will have to wait: their valiant defenders are now busy fixing the Middle East. It’s fascinating to see the conversion of mad Western crowds from the cult of climate change to the anti-Israeli religion as a simple leap on the bandwagon, Greta included. They abandon the climate, the trans, the migrants and everything else and move on to Gaza.

The obsession of the upper-middle class might seem a million miles away from the bearded radical who publicly sings the praises of Allah, but they share an instinctive revulsion for Western society. One sees it as a crime against Mother Nature, the other as an affront to Muhammad.

These champions of the fight against patriarchy, heteronormativity, parenthood, bourgeoisie, family, society, capitalism, in a great mixture of poor and ideological readings, have adopted the vocabulary of revolutionaries of the past to cover the void with a pinch of rhetorical cunning and suggest that they are all “victims”, wallowing in the lazy complacency that all the so-called “progressive” media promise them, allowing themselves to be admired and admiring only themselves.

“Sinwar, we will not let you die”, they are singing in the streets of Europe, while at Columbia University they say “Hamas, we love you” and people are photographing themselves indicating Sinwar’s next targets.

No one demands the surrender and elimination of Sinwar. When and if it happens, it will end like when the UN Human Rights Council condemned the elimination of Sheikh Yassin, founder of Hamas.

Because like the American “generation Z” falling in love with Osama bin Laden, who has become the new idol of a confused generation, Yahiya Sinwar is praised by Western crowds.

Known as the “butcher of Khan Younis”, Sinwar murdered twelve Palestinian Arabs with his own hands, because they were accused of “collaborating” with Israel. Micha Koubi, who personally interrogated Sinwar, recalled the confession that shocked him the most. Sinwar said he forced a man to bury his brother alive because he was suspected of working for Israel. “His eyes were full of happiness when he told us this story.”

Sinwar strangled his victims with a keffiyeh, like the one now sported by his fans in Western universities.

Incredible, the left’s falling in love with this butcher. They have decreed the destruction of ancient reason (this would have sown terror in times past, today it is welcomed with open arms) and will soon try to make us believe that a sense of justice exists in primates.

Islamic Law Comes to Germany

Screenshot X

The future comes at you fast. Muslims have not yet achieved majority status in Germany, yet already Germans are forced to live under Islamic law.

A so-called “brawl” in Neuruppin involved four Germans “fighting” with 15 foreigners.

The reason for the brawl is said to have been that the consumption of alcohol was not compatible with the world view of Islam and that they wanted to enforce Sharia law in Neuruppin, explained one of the injured when asked. The perpetrators themselves fled the scene when the police arrived and could not be traced.

Muslims colonists comprise a country that exists within the country of Germany like a chestburster inside an astronaut. This makes vanishing from the host country’s law child’s play.

Multicultural enrichment isn’t always pleasant:

One of the Germans suffered the loss of five teeth when one of the foreigners kicked him in the face while he was lying on the ground. Another German’s arm was deliberately broken by several people…

That’s what the last Germans get for “brawling.”

UK teachers will be banned from telling schoolchildren they would be happier as trans: ‘They are there to teach facts!’

Gillian Keegan has announced the move PA

Teachers are set to be banned from telling children they could be identifying as the wrong gender.

Education secretary Gillian Keegan has said that “children must be allowed to be children.”

Under the new proposals, children under the age of nine will not receive sex education classes.

Older pupils will be taught about legally protected characteristics such as sexual orientation and gender reassignment but will not be taught about gender identity.

Writing in the Sun, the MP for Chichester said: “Teachers are there to teach children facts…Never again will young girls be led to believe they might be happier if they were a boy or children to think there are 72 genders.

“Sex education will not be taught before year five, and at that point from a purely scientific standpoint.”

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak added: “Parents rightly trust that when they send their children to school, they are kept safe and will not be exposed to disturbing content that is inappropriate for their age.

“That’s why I was horrified to hear reports of this happening in our classrooms last year.”

A Labour spokesman said: “Sex education in schools should be age-appropriate.”

The Education Secretary added that she is calling on teachers to target “dangerous” influencers such as Andrew Tate.

She added: “The guidance will help teachers set children up to better navigate the huge complexities of social media and foster positive relationships between boys and girls.

“This will help counteract issues such as harmful misogyny and gender stereotypes with more advice how to protect children from dangerous online influencers like Andrew Tate.”

NEU education union general secretary Daniel Kebede said: “This is yet more culture war noise from an ill-informed and out of touch government. Schools need clear and constructive support”.

Head teacher at a school in Rotherham and general secretary of the Association of School and College Leaders Pepe Di’Iasio told the BBC that he believes pupils are being used “as a political football.”

There may be something bigger afoot regarding that assassination attempt on Slovakia’s prime minister

Robert Fico, screen grab youtube

By Monica Showalter

In Europe’s first major assault on a state leader since the assassination of Olaf Palme in Sweden in the 1980s, a socialist opened fire and injured Slovakia’s conservative prime minister, Robert Fico Wednesday.

He held a lot of controversial views and stances on causes dear to the globalist crowd, but there is no clear motive thus far.

Still, there has been interesting speculation as to what it might mean. Slovakia is a small country and not viewed as particularly pivotal, but David Goldman, who knows a thing or million about geopolitics and realpolitick, thinks it may be bringing Europe closer to war. His must-read essay in AsiaTimes, under his pseudonym Spengler, is a must-read:

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, Europe’s toughest opponent of military backing for Ukraine, was shot multiple times May 15 by an as yet unidentified assailant. He was transported by helicopter to a trauma center at Banska Bystrica, where he is fighting for his life. His condition is not known.

Few details have been published about the would-be assassin, who was captured after the incident.

He noted this:

So far, we have only questions about the shooting of Fico and no answers. But the strategic background to Ukraine’s military position is dire, the country’s military itself reports, as undermanned and exhausted Ukrainian units succumb to the relentless pounding of Russian air attacks and artillery.

Could it have been someone opposed to his Ukraine stance? The Czech Republic is said to be thinking about following its neighbor, which could lead to a chain reaction, even as U.S. credibility comes under duress, he notes.

The attempted assassination of a determined, credible and duly elected East European leader might prove to be the writing on the wall.

Mark Wauck, another foreign policy expert always worth reading, explores the Ukraine angle, too, citing this tweet:

Fico is best known as a “supporter” of Putin. His party, Direction – Social Democracy, is considered left nationalist/populist. What does this mean in Slovakia?

Megatron @Megatron_ron

Who wanted to kill Slovak Prime Minister Ficho?

These are some characteristics about him:

– He is against the war in Ukraine and is in favor of negotiations.

– He stopped the delivery of weapons to Ukraine.

– He called the regime in Ukraine a Nazi regime.

– He announced a veto for Ukraine to join the EU and NATO.

– He opposed the globalists in Washington.

It is more than clear that the CIA and the Ukrainian regime have crossed the red line in Europe for the second time after blowing up the Nord Stream gas pipeline.

10:05 AM · May 15, 2024

At the same time, the Daily Mail ran a piece by David Averre, unrelated to the assassination attempt, arguing that Europe is hurtling towards war.

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 saw the horrors of a large-scale war darken Europe’s doorstep for the first time since the end of World War II.

For a short while, hope endured that a swift resolution to the conflict would materialise, but before long the prospect of a speedy diplomatic solution lay in tatters as Moscow’s drones and missiles continued to batter Ukraine’s cities.

Now more than two years into the conflict, Vladimir Putin has doubled down.

His forces have made noticeable gains on the frontlines in recent weeks as they pressure war-weary and ammo-starved Ukrainian defenders, and his decision to appoint civilian economist Andrei Belousov as defence minister suggests the Kremlin is committed to sustaining its war economy over the long run.

Meanwhile, the president’s long-serving and intensely loyal foreign minister Sergei Lavrov earlier this week challenged what Russia calls the ‘collective West’, declaring Moscow‘s troops are ready to meet NATO on the battlefield.

Which again supports what Goldman was saying. The attempt to take out Fico by either pro-Ukraine or pro-globalist forces, then, could be a scenario worth watching, given that so much is at stake and they’ve all played dirty in the past. This one may well be something that goes beyond local politics and could be well worth watching.

Machete attack video shocks Germany: Mass brawl took place in the only ‘weapon ban’ zone in entire German state of Saxony

A new shocking video from the German city of Leipzig shows foreign groups battling each other, including with machetes, in broad daylight on Sunday in a notorious crime zone — one that has the only “weapon ban” zone in the state of Saxony.

In one part of the video, one of the suspects can be seen hitting another man with a machete blade, with one police investigator saying that the use of machetes is becoming increasingly common.

Two men, both aged 26, were injured in the mass brawl, with one of them requiring hospitalization.

It is unclear what sparked the incident, but the brawl took place in a crime hot spot, on Eisenbahnstraße. The area is known for battles between drug trafficking gangs and its large population of Kurds, who own the majority of shops in the area.

Police are reviewing the video footage and searching for suspects in the crime.

One witness, a Kurd living in the area, told Bild newspaper that the fight was between “family.”

“They’re all a family,” he said. “Two young adults had an argument and that was it. The families have already sorted things out and come to terms with each other.”

The use of machetes is also becoming more common, with a police investigator specializing in migrant clans telling Bild:

“Particularly large knives and especially machetes, sometimes also kebab knives, are used in the clashes because they are frightening and represent a demonstration of power. However, there is a very high risk of potentially severing body parts if you strike with the sharp side.

That is why we are observing the trend that machetes continue to be used, but only strike with the blunt side. Or the machetes are sometimes only dragged across the ground to threaten, the resulting loud clanging noise is intended to intimidate the opponent.”

Notably, the attack occurred in what was the first and so far only “weapon ban” zone in the German state of Saxony. The area of Eisenbahnstraße has had this special ban on weapons since November 2018, with the whole area as large as approximately 70 football fields. In this zone, no weapons are allowed, including pocket knives, and police are allowed to conduct searches without any reasonable suspicion.

Despite the violence in the area, authorities are planning to lift the “weapon ban” designation once a police station is built in the area, but so, far the Ministry of the Interior has been unable to find a suitable property.

As Remix News previously reported, violent crime has hit record highs in Germany, while at the same time, the share of foreigners committing these serious offenses has also hit a record high, jumping to 41 percent of all offenses despite making up a tiny share of the population.

Thousands turned out for Portugal’s March for Life 2024

Thousands of demonstrators across Portugal took part in the nation’s March for Life 2024.Caminhada Pela Vida/Facebook

Last month people in 12 cities across Portugal took part in the nation’s March for Life 2024.

On April 6, 2024, thousands of Portuguese walked the streets of Aveiro, Beja, Braga, Coimbra, Évora, Faro, Funchal, Guarda, Lamego, Lisbon, Porto, and Viseu, to witness to the sanctity of all human lives, but particularly the lives of the most vulnerable: potential victims of abortion and euthanasia.

From Portugal’s March for Life 2024. Photos published on Facebook by Caminhada Pela Vida.

Portugal’s 12th Walk for Life was promoted by the Portuguese Federation for Life and covered by several Portuguese media outlets. According to 40 Days for Life, abortion was legalized in Portugal up to 10 weeks of pregnancy in 2007 following a referendum. 40 Days for Life also reports that the barbaric practice is legal up to 16 weeks when the baby was conceived as the result of a rape and up to 24 weeks “in case of deformation or risk of death.”

In 2007, abortion was legalized up to 10 weeks of pregnancy by a referendum. Since, then, there have been no changes to the law.

Abortion is legal on demand up to 10 weeks, up to 16 weeks in case of rape, and 24 weeks in case of deformation or risk of death.

The Portuguese Federation for Life explained that “the Walk for Life is a civil society initiative, represented by the Platform of Walks for Life, promoted by the Portuguese Federation for Life, which expresses religious, political and social diversity.”

Mountain Monks and Muslims – The Islamic theft of eastern Christian worship rituals

The last time I headed to the mountains of western Pennsylvania for a spiritual retreat, the Martz bus was crammed with students returning to school after Easter weekend. It was not a pleasant ride. The bus driver, annoyed that he had to load passengers’ luggage into the baggage compartment all by himself, was in a foul mood. We arrived in Scranton more than a half hour late, though I suppose things could have been worse.

Brother Daniel met me at the station. In his black hat (skufia), sunglasses, long flowing beard and full black cassock, he looked like a monk from central casting. I first met Brother Daniel a year and a half earlier when he came to St. Tikhon’s monastery as a postulant from Colorado. He stayed in the guest room across the hall from me. He had short hair then but now his long hair was tied in a pony tail, and then of course there was his mammoth beard.

Saint Tikhon’s in Waymart, Pennsylvania is so isolated that when visitors without a car come to visit, a monk has to drive to the bus station to pick them up. It’s a 40-minute ride from the station to the monastery so that’s plenty of time to chat and get to know the monk who’s chauffeuring you.

I could see that monastic life was agreeing with Brother Daniel. He seemed happy and he had certainly retained his sense of humor. If you think talking to a monk is like walking on eggshells where you have to watch your P’s and Q’s and talk only of “holy things,” think again. We laughed and talked so much I was almost a little sorry that the drive came to an end as he brought me to the front door of the guest house.

Visiting an Orthodox monastery during Great Lent (Orthodox Easter this year was May 5) is not for the weak of heart. The diet is strictly vegetarian, though shell fish can be eaten on certain days. No dairy, no butter. There’s only one big meal a day — a lush vegetarian feast — although in the morning after Divine Liturgy you can help yourself to a variety of cereals, fruits, bagels, dried fruits and so on, so it’s impossible to go hungry.

I encountered my old friend Father Stephen, who had arranged this and all my prior visits to the monastery. During this visit Father Stephen told me about his trip with the Abbot, Father Sergius, author of the book, Acquiring the Mind of Christ, to Essex, England, Italy, and Istanbul. Often when the Abbot travels he asks one of the monks to accompany him.

Istanbul, of course, is in Muslim-dominated Turkey, and for Christians this can be problematic. Father Stephen — all Orthodox monks, even non-priests, are called ‘Father’ after spending a specified amount of time in the monastery — told me how it was recommended to Abbot Sergius to hold off wearing a cross in public while in Istanbul.

In recent years, the Turkish government has banned foreign Christians with Turkish spouses and children from settling in the country. Attacks on Christian sites in Turkey have also increased since 2015.

Abbot Sergius was advised to leave the cross behind because of “uncertain radical elements that could be in hiding.” Both Abbot Sergius and Father Stephen still wore their black cassocks and monastic black hats while in Turkey although, as Father Stephen explained, nearly everybody on the street is in some form of robed dress. There are no woke lefty women walking around with their tattooed flabby flesh exposed.

“We didn’t stand out at all,” Father Stephen said, whereas, of course, on the streets of New York or Philadelphia the opposite would be true. Unlike western monks, eastern monks rarely if ever don secular clothing when they leave the monastery, meaning that the cassock and black skufia (and beard) becomes their only form of dress.

In Turkey, there is a law that Turkish citizens who are members of the Christian clergy are not permitted to wear religious habits or crosses in public. Only the Ecumenical Patriarch is permitted to wear religious attire. Turkish priests and other bishops, including metropolitans, must wear secular garb. Christian churches, even cathedrals in Istanbul and in the whole of Turkey, must downplay exterior religious iconography; hence you have cathedrals that look like office buildings or banks because they are not decorated with religious symbols like a cross.

“It’s nothing but discrimination,” Father Stephen said, after telling me how he and Abbot Sergius went into the offices of the Ecumenical Patriarch near Saint George’s cathedral and noticed a man in a fashionably cut suit with raven black hair slicked back in the style of a fashion model. While the Patriarch was dressed according to the traditions of his office (robe, icon nec0klace and a klobuk or veil), Father Stephen said he had no idea who the fashionably dressed attendant was. He assumed it was security but was shocked to learn later that it was the metropolitan (archbishop), a Turkish citizen.

One doesn’t see too many monks or nuns in full habit walking the streets of U.S. cities these days. Many Catholic nuns have ditched their veils although the opposite is true for Orthodox nuns. Today when you see women in black on city streets they are almost always Muslim. The full robed Catholic nuns of fifty years ago have either disappeared or are cloistered in convents and rarely go out. Even Catholic monks when they go out on the town often slip into jeans and a sweater, making them indistinguishable from everybody else.

When Father Stephen leaves the confines of the monastery in the Scranton area, he wears his robe and skufia, which sometimes has funny consequences.

“Are you ISIS!?” a woman in Home Depot once asked him.

These episodes of mistaken identity happen a lot to Father Stephen, and for good reason. People in this country have not seen Christian clergy in religious garb for so long that any man or woman who appears in a black robe is now automatically assumed to be Muslim. But as I listened to Father Stephen relate his experiences, I had to admit that he did look…Islamic. Only people familiar with eastern Christianity would be able to catch the subtle difference in the garb.

Wearing a cross would change all that, of course. A cross would end the ambiguity. It would end those encounters that Father Stephen sometimes has when he’s in New York City and bearded, robed men approach him and say, “Hello brother. Are you Muslim?”

When some people say that Orthodox Christianity is not for “sissies,” they are referring to the length of services, the fasting and the number of prostrations preformed in church before and during the Divine Liturgy.

A prostration is lowering yourself to the ground on your knees, with your head touching the floor, then getting up quickly as the next prayer is recited, then crossing yourself and going down again. Prostrations can happen in multiples of ten or twelve, the rapid repetition of stretching the limbs making for one the best aerobatic exercises in the world. Some prostrations go into freeze frame mode when a bit of “yoga” is added to the mix as you stay put with your head touching the floor for the duration of a chant or a prayer.

This frozen “Zen” position to the untrained western eye can seem highly Islamic. In fact, Islam adopted full floor prostrations from eastern Christianity although all prostrations today are thought of as Islamic.

At the monastery, I stood behind twenty robust seminarians in black cassocks going full blast in prostration calisthenics, the effect of which was a little bit like standing behind a manly chorus of The Rockettes. All joking aside, the level of spirituality and intensity at St. Tikhon’s is profound. When your body is used in worship, when you are able to extend and test your limbs and muscles, prayer seems to become more meaningful.

All of which means, the next time you see a Muslim on the ground in public prayer, remember that this practice is really not Islamic at all but has its roots in a belief in Christ.

Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico Shot– in Critical condition– Alleged gunman is left-wing poet

Robert Fico, screen grab youtube

Images supplied by Getty show Robert Fico, unable to stand, being dragged to his car by his team. According to Slovak press, Fico is still being operated on, hours after the attack.

Also pictured is the arrest of the suspected gunman, which mainstream Slovak media reports is a 71 year old man from Levice, a historic town 50 miles to the south of where the attack took place. Denník N reports the alleged attacker is a poet and “member of the leftist Rainbow Literary Club”.

Right-wing publication Konzervatívny denník Postoj (‘The Conservative Daily Post’) claims to be able to name the suspect as Slovakian author, poet, and activist Juraj Cintula. According to the publication he has published three collections of poetry and is a member of the Association of Slovak writers. He has publicly expressed himself against violence, and eight years ago said he was founding an organisation called Left Against Violence.

In the launch, he spoke about mass migration and criticised the “hatred and extremism”, saying: “Every normal person rejects violence… Our goal is to unite people, preserve peace and restore democracy. It is very difficult because no one trusts anyone anymore. The world is full of chaos and hatred.”
