The man who injured six people with a knife at a stand of the right-wing populist ‘Bürgerbewegung Pax Europa’ (BPE) in Mannheim probably acted with an Islamist motive, according to investigators. However, this has not yet been confirmed. According to SPIEGEL information, the attacker is 25-year-old Sulaiman A., who was born in Herat, Afghanistan, and lived in Hesse, around 40 kilometres from Mannheim. The suspect had not previously come to the attention of the authorities as an extremist.

The attack happened on Friday morning. The perpetrator had injured five members of the BPE and a police officer with a knife on the market square in Mannheim city centre before he was shot by another police officer.

The injured officer is in agony, said Baden-Württemberg’s Interior Minister Thomas Strobl (CDU). The police had previously announced that some of the injured had to undergo emergency surgery. Investigators were not yet able to provide any information on the extent and severity of the injuries.

According to ‘Pax Europa’, board member Michael Stürzenberger was also injured.

A first plot was foiled. An 18-year-old Chechen national was arrested by the General Directorate of Internal Security (DGSI) on May 22, as BFMTV learned from police sources. The defendant was suspected of planning to carry out an Islamist-inspired attack on national soil, targeting the football competitions planned in Saint-Étienne as part of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

According to initial findings of the investigation, the young man was planning an attack on the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium, where several football matches are to be held in the summer. The planned attack was aimed at spectators and members of the security forces.

Christian Lausch, a member of the National Council from the Freedom Party, has received information that a trainee police officer had to abandon his training a few days ago due to links to the Islamist scene, which is known to pose a high risk of terrorism, and was dismissed. Multiple people have been injured after a knifeman apparently stabbed members of the public on a YouTube live stream in the German city of Mannheim.

The assailant, wearing a green t-shirt under a black tracksuit, was caught on video attacking workers outside a campaign tent for German anti-Islamist campaign group Citizens’ Movement Pax Europa (BPE) in Mannheim’s Marktplatz square.

The live-streamed footage was uploaded by hard-right German activist Michael Stürzenberger – who was was reportedly also targeted by the knifeman – as part of “Eyes Open!”, an ongoing rally tour for the BPE.

The video began with around 12 minutes of peaceful recording in the square – but as workers began setting up placards and speakers for the event, the footage descended into chaos.

After attacking and grappling with BPE staff, the man was then seen rampaging through Marktplatz with a bloodied knife in hand, stabbing workers at the tent and rushing towards members of the public including a police officer.

More bystanders could be seen attempting to restrain the man as he lunged to stab people in broad daylight before dozens of armed police stepped in, shooting him.

In the shocking footage, the attacker can be seen stabbing a police officer in the back of his neck as he attempted to restrain another person.

And in the aftermath of the attack, paramedics were seen treating at least three victims at the scene, while a police cordon has been put in place.

A police statement said: “There is currently a major police operation in Marktplatz in Mannheim. A rescue helicopter is also in use. No further information can be provided at this time.”

A Hindu student named Utsab Kumar Gian, studying at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University in Bangladesh, was thrashed by a Muslim mob on accusations of blasphemy.

It was alleged that Utsab initially posted a ‘derogatory message’ against Prophet Muhammad in a social media group and then deleted it later. When the news spread that the victim allegedly committed ‘blasphemy’, Muslim students of the university gheraoed him on Sunday (26th May).

They brutally thrashed Utsab and coerced him to confess about ‘mocking’ Prophet Muhammad. The frenzied mob of Muslim students then took the victim to the proctor Md. Kamruzzaman’s office, where he was forced to provide a written confession.

Utsab was again beaten mercilessly by the same mob and was later handed over to the Gopalganj Sadar police station in Dhaka Division of Bangladesh.

Due to the serious nature of his injuries, Utsab was admitted to the Gopalganj Sadar Hospital. After his condition worsened, the victim was rushed to the Khulna Medical College Hospital, followed by the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

In the meantime, the accused who assaulted Utsab demanded strict legal punishment against him and permanent expulsion from the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University.

At the time of writing, the victim was said to be unconscious. While speaking about the matter, Gopalganj Sadar Police Station OC said, “We have admitted him to the hospital. Let him get well first. Following that, we will take appropriate legal action.”

In the meantime, the university’s proctor Md. Kamruzzaman remarked, “He (Utsab Kumar Gian) confessed to blasphemy. He has been remanded in police custody and legal action will be taken.”

“The Vice-Chancellor and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the university are absent. I have communicated the matter to them over the phone. Necessary measures will be taken against Utsab after their return.

Following the murder of a security guard at an asylum centre in Potsdam, police arrested a suspect at Berlin Zoo station on Thursday afternoon. The police and public prosecutor’s office did not want to give any details about the alleged perpetrator. ‘Until the police measures have been completed, details of the personal details and the circumstances of the offence cannot yet be given.’

However, the newspaper BZ reports that the alleged perpetrator is said to be a South African ‘trans woman’ – a man who believes he is a woman. The victim was a 33-year-old Syrian. In the victim’s country of origin, so-called trans people are severely ostracised and persecuted by the state.
The public prosecutor’s office applied to the Potsdam district court for an arrest warrant for manslaughter. ‘The accused will be brought before the investigating judge tomorrow.’

The security guard had been found with numerous stab wounds in the accommodation that morning. It was initially reported that the Syrian was only seriously injured. He later died from the injuries inflicted on him.

The police did not want to answer a enquiry from this newspaper as to whether the alleged perpetrator was a resident of the accommodation centre.

A report released in March revealed what campaigners described as “horrifying” details of schools in Labour-run Wales allowing children to change gender identity without telling their parents. A separate investigation has now shown that the situation is even worse in SNP-run Scotland.

The paper by campaign group For Women Scotland concludes that gender ideology has become “embedded within the school system.” It blames the Scottish Government’s transgender guidance, which the majority of schools “unquestioningly follow, even when it is out of date, in places unlawful, and non-compliant with the Cass Review.” The Cass Review found that the treatment of children unsure about their gender “is an area of remarkably weak evidence.”

In a particularly concerning passage, the report notes:

There is a misconception that the occasional headlines in the press about children socially transitioned without parents knowledge or boys causing upset by using the girls’ toilets represent isolated incidents, and that such practices are only happening in a small number of schools.

This report conclusively disproves that theory.

The paper’s findings are based on Freedom of Information requests from hundreds of secondary schools, attended by children aged 11 upwards. These are that:

• At least 95% of Scottish secondaries are telling children they can self-identify their gender, compared to 40% of English schools;
• 89% teach children that people have a gender identity “that may be different from their sex”;
• 37% teach that “a person who self identifies as a man or a woman should be treated as such in all circumstances, even if this does not match their biological sex”; and
• Just 4% of Scottish parents can “expect to be informed” if their child expresses distress about gender at school;

For Women Scotland made six recommendations in its paper, including updating the Scottish government’s transgender guidelines for schools and “end[ing] the involvement of LGBT Youth Scotland and other activist organisations” in such processes. The Scottish Tories have urged the hard-left Scottish National Party to “consider the recommendations closely,” adding that:

Gender self-ID confuses children and shouldn’t be taught in our classrooms.

The Tories have, however, been heavily criticised for not going far enough in their own trans guidelines for schools in England, which headteachers have dismissed as meaningless. And Labour, when it likely takes the reins in England at the next general election, is bound only to make the situation worse, so far as parents are concerned.

After already revealing that 60% of Scottish secondary schools will allow a child to access toilets designated for the opposite sex, For Women Scotland says that it will release a separate report on “what’s happening to your child’s school toilets” shortly.

Dublin, traditionally a city of vibrant nightlife and rich cultural heritage, is now confronting a challenging reality as makeshift encampments of African migrants appear along the grand Liffey River.

The influx of migrants to Dublin is linked to a deal between the U.K. and Rwanda, which proposes deporting boat arrivals from France to Rwanda, where they would await asylum processing. In reaction to this news, many migrants have moved to Ireland, anticipating that they will not be sent to Rwanda from there.

The Irish government, caught between a humanitarian approach and public discontent, is pressuring London to take back the unwanted migrants, who represent over 90 percent of the 7,000 illegal migrants who have arrived in Ireland this year after having previously applied for asylum in England or Scotland.

Despite the absence of a physical border between Northern Ireland, which is part of the U.K., and the Republic of Ireland due to delicate political relations, the Irish police face calls to tighten border controls. However, the Dublin government remains committed to a progressive and humanitarian stance, funding organizations that supply new tents to the migrants while simultaneously demanding British cooperation to reassume responsibility for the migrant crisis.

Dublin’s politicians compensate for their impotence by blaming the British for not wanting to accept back immigrant refugees from Albion. One can debate whether the idea of sending asylum seeker candidates to Rwanda, initiated by the government in London, will end in success. However, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is trying somehow to fight against the influx of newcomers from the Third World.

Meanwhile, Ireland, on the one hand, practices an open-door policy for immigrants. On the other hand, it instructs its police to dismantle tent cities. To add to the totally schizophrenic reaction from the government, they are also funding the organizations from the Irish budget that provide new tents to the newcomers.

All this occurs while maritime coast guards from Ireland and the United Kingdom are incapable of stopping dinghies carrying immigrants from departing from the French coasts. Humanitarian rhetoric collides with the governments’ fear of their own citizens, who are outraged by the immigrant influx.

In a word: paranoia flourishes.
