A Brussels mayor has threatened to cut power to a conservative conference taking place in the city.

Emir Kir, the mayor of the region of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, has reportedly put pressure on the various companies working with the National Conservatism conference in the hopes of cancelling the event.

This reportedly includes the host of the Claridge event venue, with the former Socialist, now turned independent, politician alleged to have threatened to cut electricity to the venue.

“What we have is a systematic attempt to sabotage everything to do with the conference,” one of the conference’s organisers, MCC Brussels Executive Director Frank Furedi, told Brussels Signal on Tuesday morning.

“They then threatened to cut electricity and all that.”

He added that the venue’s owner was under extreme pressure from Kir, with the individual reportedly having his car away by authorities.

“They threatened him with all kinds of consequences,” Furedi claimed.

While the venue organiser, as of writing, is said to be holding firm on allowing the conference to continue, other companies that had planned to work with National Conservatism have pulled out.

Two previous venues initially slated to host the event, Concert Noble and Sofitel, decided to ‘de-platform’ the event after receiving pressure from various Socialist party politicians.

While organisers managed to secure a third venue for the event itself, they say that they have lost catering thanks to pressure from Kir.

“The caterer for the lunch has pulled out,” Furedi said. “The caterer who was contracted to get the food together for the Gala Dinner tonight has also pulled out.”

“This is actually quite unprecedented.”

Kir told local newspaper La Capitale that he would take “all possible measures” to close the vent down.

“The town hall has absolutely not given its agreement for this  event to take place”, he said. “I was taken aback and only knew about this early last night. He said he was considering sending in the police if the owner of the property didn’t cooperate.

 It has been a brutal week for the transgender narrative.

First, we had the Cass Review, which took a sledgehammer to trans activist claims about “gender medicine” and has already triggered further investigations – the UK’s National Health Service has announced that they will be conducting Cass-style inquiries into seven adult transgender clinics, as well. The closure of the Tavistock clinic could be just the beginning.

Then, Dr. Phil aired an entire show opposing “transition” for minors. He does not come from a socially conservative perspective, but trans activists were livid by his attacks:

In the wake of the New York Times publishing a series of columns questioning the transgender narrative – the most recent of them was published earlier this month – the sudden interest of mainstream media figures in taking a closer look at trans activist claims is an indication that the herd is moving.

Then, a preprint study from Mayo Clinic – which, I will stipulate, has not yet been peer-reviewed – affirmed that puberty blockers cause long-term fertility problems in boys. This is something that critics of “gender medicine” have been saying for years – that transition includes the sterilization of minors. The researchers analyzed more than 130,000 sperm cells from male children with gender dysphoria, ages 17 and younger.

According to Fox News:

The researchers analyzed the testicular cells of boys who had been taking puberty blockers for anywhere from three months to 52 months, and compared them to cells of a control group who had not been on the blockers. Among those on puberty blockers, the researchers identified mild to severe ‘sex gland atrophy,’ determining that the medications accelerated the aging and function of testicular cells.

Most significantly, the findings of this study suggest that the impact of puberty blockers is likely permanent – once again, something critics of “transition” have been saying for years, while trans activists attempt to shout them down. Fox News noted that the “researchers also detected cases of microlithiasis, which is marked by the presence of small clusters of calcium in the testicles.”

What does this mean? This: “Additional research from Mayo Clinic has linked testicular microlithiasis to an increased risk of testicular cancer.” The researchers noted in the conclusion of the study that the risks are now clear: “We provide unprecedented histological evidence revealing detrimental pediatric testicular sex gland responses to [puberty blockers].”

This is yet more evidence that we are, in fact, sterilizing trans-identifying boys. It is not reversible. They will never have their own biological children.

Most people remained silent out of cowardice as this evidence emerged. Only a few dissidents dared to stick their heads above the parapets on this issue – a motley crew of social conservatives, Christians, feminists, and a couple of celebrities like J.K. Rowling, who were willing to stake their reputations on this fight for gender-confused kids. Those people – the ones who knew better but decided to stay silent to protect themselves – will deserve no credit, and should be called out for their cowardice.

As Julie Bindel noted at Unherd, the conversions are beginning already. She, it turns out, has been taking note of those who refused to defend the dissident (and, as it turns out, correct) voices on this issue as a monumental medical scandal unfolded. I could also name politicians who never bought into transgender ideology but refused to take on trans activists for fear that it might hurt their careers. As the evidence piles up and the voices of detransitioners grow louder, I hope that they are listening. I hope they are honest with themselves. Their silence helped this happen.

When trans-identified children were being sterilized, they said nothing. Some of us will remember that.

Terrible suspicions in the Hanseatic city: six young men are said to have assaulted and raped three girls aged 14.
The sexual assaults are said to have taken place on Thursday evening at around 6.30 pm in the Wallanlagen. “We are investigating the suspicion of rape,” says Katja Weizel, spokeswoman for the Rostock police department.
According to the officers, the girls were able to free themselves and escape. One of the victims reported the incident to the police the next day.
The 14-year-old is said to have told the officers that the men were foreigners. They are said to be between 19 and 25 years old and were wearing a white, black and blue jumper at the time of the crime.
The Rostock criminal investigation department has already started the investigation and is looking for the suspected rapists. Witnesses to the offence are asked to contact the police on 0381/49161616 or at www.polizei.mvnet.de.

At around 5.45pm, five young men stormed into the church building, where one of them shouted “Allah Akbar” once before fleeing.

15 minutes later, the five individuals, four of whom were minors, were arrested and taken into police custody for glorifying terrorism, according to a police source. In this case, their personal data revealed that they were five youths of Turkish origin, most of them minors and unknown to the police. “The detained youths were crying in the car, apparently realising their folly,” a police source said.

The police found that there was an app on the phone of the person who had shouted “Allah hakbar” that called for (Islamic) prayer.

The canon of Metz Cathedral, who was not present at the time of the incident, did not press charges. When asked by Valeurs, he confirmed that no charges had been filed and relativised: “These are disoriented young people, what they did is really not bad or problematic. It was more of a joke. There was no violence or damage to property, otherwise we would of course have pressed charges.

The canon also explains that he doesn’t want to “insist” too much on this story so as “not to add fuel to the fire given the current context”.

The Metz public prosecutor’s office, which was contacted by Valeurs, has not yet responded.

With just 51 days to go until the first voting booths open in the critical European Parliamentary elections, the globalist-aligned Silicon Valley tech giant Meta has imposed a ten-year restriction on the Facebook page of Chega, Portugal’s third-largest party, without giving specific reasons. 

The rightist, sovereigntist party—currently polling at 19.9% after having secured 50 seats in last month’s national election, up from 12 in 2022—has referred to the social media company’s move as an “unjustifiable” act of “persecution,” and pledged to use all legal means at its disposal to oppose the restriction.

“Your account is restricted for 3,649 days. Your account activity has violated our community standards. Therefore, you will not be able to perform one or more usual actions,” was the message sent by Meta to Chega’s official Facebook account—which boasts nearly 200,000 followers—on Sunday afternoon.

Meta’s restriction prevents Chega from publishing images, videos, sending messages, and other actions, rendering it unusable as a tool to help the party reach Portuguese voters during the remaining run-up to the European elections in June. 

Chega leader André Ventura, whose official Facebook account has been restricted since December, told the Portugues online newspaper Observador that the case has already been reported to Meta, and revealed his intention to bring the matter before the Parliament and to “all judicial bodies until Facebook is convicted.”

The party promised to initiate the “biggest action ever in Portugal against Meta.” 

Ventura accused Mark Zuckerberg, Meta’s globalist activist CEO, of blatant political censorship, while a statement from the party calls the tech company’s arbitrary restriction of its page “one of the biggest attacks on freedom of expression on a political party in Portugal.”

“No matter how hard they try, they won’t be able to shut us up,” Chega wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

“We won’t give up until we defeat the censorship that wants to take away the Portuguese people’s freedom of choice. We’re not going to give up on Portugal and we’re going to show the owners of Facebook, dominated by left-wing interests, our indignation!” the party wrote in a statement. 

Meta has yet to provide an explanation for its restriction of Chega’s account. However, a party source told the media that it could be related to the publication of a video related to a family custody fight turned violent.

Chega argues that the video was also published on Facebook by numerous media outlets whose accounts have not been restricted, saying that would invalidate Meta’s restriction on the party’s account.

A failed naval test simulating a drone attack on the Belgian frigate Louise-Marie (F931) has resulted in the ship’s Red Sea mission being cancelled.

During the exercise, an anti-aircraft missile jammed in the vessel’s launch tube and other onboard weaponry also malfunctioned.

One of Belgium’s two frigates, the Louise-Marie and its 170-strong crew was due set to sail to the Persian Gulf and join the European mission in the Strait of Hormuz. There, warships protect merchant vessels against potential attacks from Houthi rebels in Yemen and elsewhere.

That has become increasingly important amid heightened tensions in the Middle East. On April 13, a huge wave of missiles and drones was fired from Iran and its sites in Yemen towards Israel. Almost all were reportedly intercepted by Israel with help from Western forces.

Also on April 13, Dutch marine blog Marineschepen.nl reported the failed exercise involving the Louise-Marie.

The ship was unable to shoot down a drone after one of its RIM-7 Sea Sparrow anti-aircraft missiles got stuck in the launch tube as its other defences also failed.

The embarrassing incident took place in the presence of Admiral Michel Hofman, the Chief of Defence of the Belgian Armed Forces.

As a result of the botched test, the frigate’s deployment in the Red Sea has been postponed.

“At present, the frigate remains in the Mediterranean Sea. The ship’s commander and the general staff have decided to extend the training period of the frigate due to previous exercises and technical tests that have not yet yielded the intended results,” the Belgian defence ministry told Marineschepen.nl.

“The identified shortcomings are currently being analysed, and necessary adjustments will be made to ensure the continuation of the mission towards the operational theatre.

“For defence, the safety and preparedness of our personnel and capabilities are paramount. No compromises will be made in this regard,” it added.

According to its own page on Facebook, the Louise-Marie was taking part in two weeks of intensive training in the Mediterranean together with a Dutch frigate.

A large crowd of angry Christians gathered outside the Assyrian Church in Sydney, Australia, where police are holding the man who stabbed four people during a church service.

People are in a near-riot outside the church, seemingly wanting to lynch the knifeman, who is now in police custody.

Restrained by parishioners, the apparent Islamist terrorist who attacked Assyrian Orthodox Bishop Mar Mari reportedly said in Arabic: ‘if He wasn’t criticizing my Prophet (Muhammad) and my religion (Islam), I wouldn’t have come or attacked’.

An Erding bus company that operates several routes in the district of Erding is struggling with staff shortages and has therefore had to switch to a substitute timetable with a reduced number of journeys. This could also be the reason for a scene that was captured on video, has been circulating online for days and has caused numerous responses on social media.

The video, which was shared on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram, is said to show a bus in Erding approaching a stop to pick up more passengers. When boarding the bus, the passengers – who at first glance appear to be predominantly migrants – do not behave calmly, but instead crowd loudly onto the bus, causing concern among a young woman, for example, who is also a passenger and can be seen in the shared video. The tumultuous scenes may even have led to a police operation, as the end of the video suggests.

In the comments section of the video, there is heavy criticism. “After 10 years of public and regional transport, I love my car. In 2015, it started in the Hamburg area (in addition to train cancellations etc.) with people standing on the tracks forever and trains not departing because someone was blocking the door for their family or ‘colleagues’,” writes one user on X. Many other users on Instagram are calling for remigration and asking how people can actually accept these conditions.
