U.K. smoking ban is government overreach — and won’t work

By Rajan Laad

Just yesterday, U.K. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s ‘smoke-free generation’ bill passed in the U.K.’s House of Commons.

If the bill is approved by the House of Lords, it becomes law across the U.K.

The bill bans the sale of tobacco products to anyone in the U.K. born after Jan. 1, 2009, with the legal age for the purchase of tobacco products increasing by one year every year until it eventually covers the entire population.

Many members of Sunak’s Conservative Party, including his predecessors, Liz Truss and Boris Johnson, have opposed the ban.

Despite claiming to be a conservative, Sunak is spearheading this ban which he described as the “biggest public health intervention in a generation.”

Now, we all know that there seems to be no obvious advantage for smoking.

The CDC states that ‘smoking causes cancer, heart disease, stroke, lung diseases, diabetes, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis. Smoking also increases risk for tuberculosis, certain eye diseases, and problems of the immune system, including rheumatoid arthritis.’

The Mayo Clinic states that “smoking causes lung diseases, such as emphysema and chronic bronchitis. Smoking also makes asthma worse. Other cancers. Smoking increases the risk of many types of cancer, including cancer of the mouth, throat (pharynx), esophagus, larynx, bladder, pancreas, kidney, cervix and some types of leukemia.”

The UK’s National Health Service states that “Smoking causes unattractive problems such as bad breath and stained teeth, and can also cause gum disease and damage your sense of taste. The most serious damage smoking causes in your mouth and throat is an increased risk of cancer in your lips, tongue, throat, voice box and oesophagus.”

Since the smoking causes such serious health hazards it would seem to make sense to discourage the habit.

But is this the right approach?

The U.K. government already has a law in place that makes it illegal to sell cigarettes to individuals under the age of 18. Hence individuals born after 2009 won’t be able to buy cigarettes anyway. The sales ban will be enforcable only three years later.

This seems rather odd and raises some open questions, especially since the stated goal is discouragment of smoking.

If smoking is the cause of myriad serious health complications why restrict the ban to only those born after 2009 why not ban sales it across ages?

Why wait three years, why not enforce the ban on sales of cigarettes immediately and for everybody?

The proposed law will compel shopkeepers to verify the age of potential customers before conducting the sale.

But there are methods to circumvent the demands made of the law and render it meaningless.

Those born before 2009 can sell or share cigarettes with those born after 2009 and do it discreetly within the privacy of their homes? How does the government prevent these actions?

Also how does the government prevent buying of cigarettes from shopkeepers via proxy?

Also, if people born before 2009 are allowed to buy, won’t the ‘passive smoking’ affect the people born after 2009?

Since the government trudging down that road of preventing health risks why stop at smoking, how about an alcohol ban too?

How about making the sale of alcohol illegal in a similiar fashion?

Perhaps enforce the ban immediately across all ages?

How about closing down all the pubs across Britain?

This would certainly resultin riots because Britons can give up respiring but not their millenias-long tradition of drinking. Some pubs in the U.K., after all, claim to be more than a thousand years old.

Perhaps for the U.K. government, health hazards due to riots will be preferable than those due to alcoholism.

Why even stop at alcohol?

We know that deep fried food increases risk of heart-related diseases, cancer, diabetes and obesity.

How about a similiar ban on deep fried food — like the U.K.’s prized fish and chips?

That will bring an end to that.

But fried food overall is unhealthy, you see, so let’s ban shallow fried food, as well.

That will bring an end to bacon, sausages, Wimpy burgers, and that English favorite, fried bread.

How about banning processed food too?

We know that boiled broccoli and cabbage are supposed to be health food.

Maybe those will be the only kinds of food permitted? It’s the same kind of food the Brits dined on before Christopher Columbus introduced them to the foods of the New World, and Marco Polo and Ferdinand Magellan introduced them to the spices of the East.

What about the overeating of health food?

That could cause health issues, as well.

How about regulating the portions that people can buy?

How about a government tracking system that maintains a log of what is being purchased and prevents overconsumption?

If the govenment wants to mitigate health risks why merely place restrictions on what is consumed or inhaled?

Mobile phones, motorbikes, cars, and even a pencil, etc. can all be dangerous if misused.

Neighbors who play loud music, mothers with no culinary skills, novels by Dan Brown, and utterances by AOC can all be hazardous to health of children all over the world.

Will the government ban them all? Perhaps they will send expeditions to put a stop to it.

“Oh, stop it with these paraniod scenarios. This is merely a ban on the sale of cigarettes. The impact will be gradual but it will ensure good health generations to come,” is what proponents of the bill will claim.

It must be remembered that all these actions of government overeach begin in small, seemingly innocuous, measures with claims that they will benefit the public.

The public won’t accept these unreasonable restrictions, so a measure such as the cigarette ban will only open up a black market. The profits from the black market will always be used to fund other criminal enterprises. This is exactly what happened in the U.S. during the Prohibition era.

We must also remember that behind every product there is an industry that supports livelihoods.

Should government be allowed to target any industry?

Today is the tobacco industry, tomorrow it could be the fast food industry, because the government can alway find a pretext to target and shut down private enterprises.

So why is Prime Minister Rishi Sunak leading this bill?

It is because both Sunak personally and his party are deeply unpopular and seem to be en route to a severe drubbing in the next national election.

Sunak is probably hoping that this gimmick will win the approval of parents whose underaged children are smokers.

Make no mistake, this is a blantant act of government inteference in the private lives of citizens.

We remember how governments interfered in the right to free movement and to earn a living during the COVID lockdowns and claimed it was for health and safety.

The Sunak government is also using health of citizen as a pretext to push his proposed ban.

If this ban is successful, subsequent governments will attempt measures that are more draconian.

They will claim that the mere prevention of sales of cigarettes is not enough to tackle the issue.

Perhaps the police will be authorized to forcibly enter homes and conduct arrests based on tips by nosy neighbors.

Perhaps a person born after 2009 be arrested merely for possession of cigarettes.

Does that mean we must allow the underaged to smoke themselves to death?

Emphatically not.

The job of discouraging underaged from smoking lies with parents, and perhaps teachers and guardians.

Once again, diktats will not work.

In fact, mandates cause individuals, particularly the underaged, to rebel.

The way to discourage smoking is to educate the public about the health hazards.

Perhaps a meeting with the local doctor will help. Perhaps meeting patients who suffer from smoking-related ailments will serve as a warning.

Parents must instill values in their children which prevent them from making choices that are hazardous to themselves and others around them. Usually parents leading by example are the most successful at instilling the right values for their children.

When the individual has achieved adulthood, the hope is that the values instilled by parents will continue to dictate choices and decisions.

The government has no business regulating or interfering personal consumption. The best it can do is advise.

In a free society, if individuals can vote, they must be allowed to consume what they desire.

As abhorrent as smoking is, the choice must be left to the adult.

The ban will result in the government encroaching upon personal space.

We must remember that once this government encroachment occurs, it is permanent.

UK: Woke museum slammed for ‘racist’ tour claiming Queen Charlotte was the ‘first royal person of colour’

Doubts about Queen Charlotte’s ethnicity were first publicised after a German historian questioned the accuracy of her portrait by Thomas Gainsborough, artuk.org

A London museum has been accused of “confusing the ignorant” and being “profoundly racist” after a guided audio tour incorrectly claimed King George III’s wife, Queen Charlotte, was a “person of colour”.

The guide, available to guests at the Queen’s House, part of Royal Museums Greenwich, sees guests given “a very gay tour” of the estate by drag king and historian Christian Adore.

As museum-goers walk past a figurehead of the former Queen taken from the royal yacht HMY Royal Charlotte, a section of the guide plays a recorded message saying: “Queen Charlotte, the nation’s first royal person of colour.

Duncan Harris , Wikimedia Commons , CC-BY-2.0

“Yep, you heard me. The insecure white boys writing history conveniently forget to mention that bit, because… well, structural racism.”

Royal Museums Greenwich says the tour, which “shares the spirit” of its LGBTQ+ History Month event, “Fierce Queens”, contains Adore “sharing just some of the “deliciously gay stories” contained within its [the Queen’s House’s] galleries.

The description continues: “Along the way, he’ll introduce the performers and artists that make Fierce Queens a night to treasure, allowing them to share their own experiences of representation and inclusivity in the historic space.”

Its audio guide also highlights the bisexuality of King James I, and states King Charles II, known for his multiple mistresses, had a “progressive, genuinely modern understanding of relationships in the 1660s”.

Elsewhere in the Queen’s House, a bust of Lord Nelson is berated by a “migrant goddess” figure, who tells heroic British admirals to “move over” for the “unsung heroes of the sea” and claims Nelson’s “bravery and resilience” is shared by migrants who make sea crossings.

Reports of the guided tour were slammed by former Royal Navy officer Chris Parry, who said: “This level of stupidity simply degrades and defiles our national reputation for historical scholarship… These antics serve to confuse the ignorant and are profoundly racist. Remove public funding.”

The idea that Queen Charlotte was not white was first put forward by German historian Brunold Springer in 1929 – a time of high interest in physiognomy pseudoscience in Germany – who claimed her portrait by Thomas Gainsborough was inaccurate.

Springer instead pointed to a portrait by Allan Ramsay, who emphasised her “broad nostrils and heavy lips”, while other academics have highlighted historical accounts of the Queen’s “Mulatto [mixed-race” face as evidence of her African heritage.

Later scholars pointed out one of her distant ancestors, Madragana, a Moorish mistress of Portugal’s King Afonso III, would have contributed to her appearance – though this has been put down by historians as the word “Moor” was a religious, not racial, descriptor at the time.

In popular culture, Queen Charlotte has been depicted as mixed-race – most notably in Netflix drama Bridgerton and its spin-off, Queen Charlotte.

A museum spokesperson said: “The Fierce Royals pieces were performed in the Queen’s House, delivered by a number of performance artists, during LGBTQ+ History Month and part of an evening of light-hearted entertainment, and later added to our website for the enjoyment of those who could not come on the night.

“As part of the Fierce Queens event that the tour is based on, we had a black performer playing Queen Charlotte, which is why this segment was included in the tour.

“It was not written by or performed by members of RMG staff and as a performance piece, was not ‘fact checked’.”

UK: Labour MP meets terrorist to seek release of Yasin Malik, had peddled Pakistani agenda

Rachel Hopkins (left), Yasin Malik (right), image via her website and PTI

A month after the Indian government extended the ban on the ‘Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF)’, a sitting UK Parliamentarian named Rachel Hopkins met a leader of the Islamist terror outfit on Monday (15th April).

Hopkins is a member of the anti-India Labour Party in the United Kingdom and a Member of Parliament (MP) from the Lutton South constituency.

She had been advocating for the release of Yasin Malik, a pro-Pakistani separatist who terrorised Kashmiri Hindus and killed four Indian Air Force officers. Hopkins’ unwavering support for Malik comes despite his terror links and involvement in the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits.

In this regard, the Labour Party MP had met JKLF terrorist Zafar Khan to learn about the trial and appeal against the supposed ‘death sentence’ awarded to Yasin Malik.

It must be mentioned that in May 2022, the JKLF supremo was convicted by a National Investigation Agency (NIA) court on charges of terrorism. Yasin Malik pleaded guilty to the charges and was awarded life in prison. In this way, he tactfully avoided the death penalty.

Although the NIA has sought the death penalty for Yasin Malik for waging war against the Government of India, the hearing in the case was postponed by the Delhi court in February this year.

As such, there is no death sentence against the JKLF terrorist as alleged by Rachel Hopkins. The Labour MP was seen repeating Pakistani talking points on the Indian Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

“I continue to stand up for #Kashmiris & their right to self-determination,” she continued to interfere in the internal matter of India.

A year after the abrogation of Article 370 in the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, Rachel Hopkins left no stone unturned to incite the British government against India.

“On the 5th of August, it will be one year since the Indian government revoked Article 370. The people of Jammu and Kashmir were locked down, human rights attacked and subsequent violence has resulted in many deaths,” she claimed.

“…The situation in Jammu and Kashmir is of urgent importance to many of my constituents in Luton South and other members. Will the Leader ensure that time is found early in September for a debate on human rights abuses in the region?” Hopkins had pleaded.

Labour Party and its vote bank interests

On 25th September 2019, the Labour Party in the UK passed a unanimous motion on Kashmir at their party conference in Brighton.

The motion stated that Kashmir should be given the right of self-determination as per UN resolutions and urged the Labour party to ‘stand with Kashmiris fighting against occupation’.

British Pakistani Uzma Rasool submitted the motion. In her speech, Rasool claimed that Kashmir has seen ’72 years of human rights violation’, gang rapes and mass rapes by the Indian Army, and pellet gun injuries.

It must be mentioned that notable Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn had earlier made his anti-India stand clear on the issue. In a tweet, Corbyn had claimed that there weew human rights abuses taking place in Kashmir.

Muslim Prayer Victory. EU’s Fascist Undertones. Is Liz Truss a True Conservative? UK Smoking Ban

On today’s #NCFNewspeak, NCF Director Peter Whittle, Senior Fellow Rafe Heydel-Mankoo and SDP London mayoral candidate Amy Gallagher discuss: * Free Speech suppressed in the heart of the EU at the National Conservative (NatCon) conference. * Katherine Birbalsingh’s landmark victory as court rules Muslim children do not have the right to pray in her Michaela school. * Britain introduces the world’s strictest smoking ban. * Liz Truss wants to revive traditional conservative. But how conservative is she really?

Germany: As many “kuffar” as possible should be killed in and outside a church on Ascension Day – Islamist terror cell arrested

Illustration, screen grab youtube

A few days ago, it was announced that the German State Security Service and the Düsseldorf Public Prosecutor General’s Office were able to achieve a successful investigation. The Austrian state security service in Vienna, from which the German authorities had received a tip-off, is also partly responsible for this success. According to the report, Austrian state security warned the German security authorities about a youth terrorist cell that was planning attacks on a church, reports the Austrian daily Der Standard.

The attack should ideally take place on a day like Ascension Day, when the church is well attended. However, people outside the church who were labelled as “kuffar”, i.e. unbelievers, were also to be killed. Cities such as Dortmund, Düsseldorf and Cologne were envisaged as possible targets. Four young people, two male and two female, from North Rhine-Westphalia and Baden-Württemberg had drawn up this plan for the attack. Since the Easter weekend, all four have been in custody on suspicion of terrorism.

As Der Standard further reports, one of the young people in particular is said to have been known to the German authorities for some time. She had attracted attention due to plans to travel to the Islamic State (IS). As reported by public broadcaster WDR, it was primarily storage media that was confiscated during the raids by the police over the Easter weekend. However, a machete and a dagger were also found on the second young person.

The German news agency dpa reported, citing security circles, that the young people had also been radicalised by Islamist influencers. Names and details were not given. In social media such as TikTok, however, it is mainly Salafist figures from Germany who achieve a high online circulation and thus lure young people in order to radicalise them, the Standard report emphasises.

As recently as November, two 15 and 16-year-old teenagers were arrested in Germany on suspicion of terrorism, sympathising with IS and allegedly planning an attack on a Christmas market, as reported by Focus online. They are in custody in North Rhine-Westphalia and Brandenburg. However, the radicalisation does not appear to be limited to young people in Germany, but apparently extends as far as Switzerland. Three young people were also arrested there on suspicion of terrorism and remanded in custody.

Germany: Afghan man brutally massacres store manager because of ban on entering the store

Wikimedia Commons , Jesse Krauß,PD-self

Following a nearly fatal stabbing in Gelsenkirchen, a 28-year-old man was sentenced to 13 years in prison for attempted murder on Friday. According to the verdict, the accused stabbed the manager of a clothing shop fatally on August 31 last year. The 58-year-old was critically injured. The background to this was a ban on entering the store that had been imposed on the accused. According to the judgement of the Essen jury court, he wanted to take revenge for this. The Afghan defendant had ambushed his victim at the staff entrance after work. Surveillance camera footage shows him knocking the 58-year-old man down and then stabbing him six times with a knife – in the head, neck and body. “He felt his pride and honour had been wounded”, said Judge Jörg Schmitt at the sentencing. The accused showed a “completely bizarre view of law and justice”

The defendant himself had remained silent about the allegations during the trial, but admitted the crime in general terms shortly before the verdict was announced. The judgement is not final.

Irish psychiatrist warns of ‘slippery slope’ as nation contemplates legal euthanasia

fizkes/Shutterstock

As Ireland debates legalizing euthanasia, a leading psychiatrist issued a warning that the recent case of a physically healthy 28-year-old autistic woman in the Netherlands, and a healthy 27-year-old autistic woman in Canada who have been approved for euthanasia could also become a reality in Ireland if euthanasia is legalized.

Maria Maynes was published by Gript on April 9 concerning the debate to legalize euthanasia in Ireland. Maynes interviewed Consultant psychiatrist, Professor Patricia Casey, a specialist in adult psychiatry. Maynes reported:

… recent cases unfolding worldwide involving physically healthy young people should provide evidence to Irish lawmakers that ‘the slippery slope exists,’ as she expressed particular concern about those with autism choosing assisted suicide or euthanasia.

Last month, this publication also reported on the Canadian case of an unnamed 27-year-old woman, who was also autistic, and had chosen to die by physician assisted suicide. While the father of the unnamed woman tried to intervene through court action, arguing that she did not have the ability to consent to the death under Canada’s MAiD programme, his intervention was unsuccessful.

There have also been cases in Belgium, where Asperger’s (now subsumed under the autistic spectrum) is among the most common conditions for which Belgians seek euthanasia on mental health grounds, alongside personality disorders and depression.

Maynes quoted Casey as stating:

‘There is a danger that when young, autistic people see a problem that they will look for what they see is a simple solution, or a trendy solution.’

Casey also stated:

I was struck by the photograph of 28-year-old Zoraya ter Beek in the Netherlands, who was pictured surreally embraced in the arms of her boyfriend while announcing that she was due to die on May 28th. This photograph conceals the turmoil and nihilism behind her decision and may well be used in the future to promote assisted dying as a calming answer to one’s problems.

Professor Casey compares the issue to the romanticizing of suicide that was successfully countered by national campaigns. Professor Casey fears that the same type of romanticizing of death by euthanasia will also occur. Professor Anne Doherty examined the issue of suicide rates in jurisdictions that have legalized euthanasia and assisted suicide. Professor Casey referred to her research and stated:

Prof. Doherty found that the rate of non-assisted suicide increased after assisted suicide was legalised, and I fear we will see exactly the same pattern. I also think it is very nihilistic to say to people, ‘There is no help. Why don’t you go for assisted suicide?’ I mean, it is such a dark thing to say to anybody. I think it should be absolutely taboo, but instead of that, it is now becoming glamorised.

Casey also commented on the “bracket creep” in countries that have legalized euthanasia and stated:

This is what has happened in a range of countries. The Netherlands, for instance, didn’t start with euthanasia for young people with mental illness. It legislated initially for those with terminal illness. Similarly in Canada and in Belgium. Now all of those countries are allowing assisted suicide for young people, or for people with mental illness – or a combination of both.

As for the concern that people with Autism are more susceptible to requesting euthanasia, Casey stated:

One of the reasons a young person with autism may be more susceptible is due to the fact that a lot of those with autism have unusual interests and hobbies. For example, some would have an interest in the afterlife, or the occult, or similar. We also know that some individuals who are on the autistic spectrum have very fixed beliefs about things, and so can be quite suggestible.

Once something has been suggested, the person can fixate on that. I think the interest in unusual things, something we often see in those with ASD, and some of the things that are outside the norm, along with their tendency to fixate on things, would make that person particularly vulnerable. For instance, people with rigid thinking, such as many of those with ASD, find it difficult to consider alternative solutions to problems. And this may render them more than willing to choose this particular pathway to death.

Professor Casey also commented on the social contagion that is likely to happen with euthanasia:

There will be a social contagion aspect, because as we know, teenagers and young adults are always online now. One person engaging in, or planning, an assisted suicide, will be in touch with others in their group and that contagion effect is very toxic.

We must not forget that suicide clusters existed in the recent past, because of social contagion. And it is difficult to escape that prospect in relation to assisted suicide, also.

Ireland is currently debating the legalization of euthanasia. A recent parliamentary report was released which advocated that euthanasia be legalized for a person diagnosed with a disease, illness, or medical condition that is both incurable and irreversible; advanced, progressive, and will likely cause death within six months (or within 12 months in the case of someone with a neuro-degenerative disease, illness or condition; and suffering in a manner that the person “cannot be relieved in a manner that the person finds tolerable.”

The Irish report obviously decided to push for the legalization of euthanasia in a fairly wide open manner.

For further reading, Gordon Friesen, the president of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition, issued a warning to Ireland in his article: “If euthanasia is legalized as a cure for suffering, then suffering people will be ‘cured’ with euthanasia!

Italian Left Nominates Violent Activist for EU Parliament

Ilaria Salis,screen grab YT

Ilaria Salis, an Italian ‘anti-fascist’ who is going on trial next month for taking part in a series of violent attacks in Budapest in February last year, has been nominated as a candidate in the European elections for the Greens and Left Alliance.

Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini has previously called out the hypocrisy of the Left for attempting to circumvent the judicial system of another country, telling La Repubblica

The Left always tells us that we have to respect the judiciary, so let them also respect the Hungarian judiciary.

Salis has spent 13 months in a Hungarian jail for violently assaulting people after they had taken part in the ‘Day of Honour’ event, an annual neo-Nazi gathering that was banned by Hungarian authorities in 2022.

Should she win a seat in Brussels, the 39-year-old could potentially gain parliamentary immunity and thus obtain release from prison.

Her nomination has been confirmed by Greens and Left Alliance MEPs Nicola Fratoianni and Angelo Bonelli, who have entered into an agreement with her father, Roberto Salis.

In a statement, they said they wanted to “protect the rights and dignity of a European citizen,” and also criticized the Italian authorities for “inertia” in obtaining her release from jail.

Salis’ case first came to public attention in late January last year, when the Italian left-wing extremist appeared in a Budapest courtroom with a disturbing grin on her face

Concurrently, Italian media claimed she and her cellmate were being mistreated in the Hungarian jail.

Hungarian authorities rejected the accusation, but Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani summoned the Hungarian ambassador for a conversation.

However, Tajani later warned left-wing politicians against turning the case into a political issue. In February this year, he told the Italian parliament that Italy must respect international law and the Hungarian judicial system. He added that Italy would not request that Salis be placed under house arrest as it would be a security risk to accommodate her at the Italian embassy.

Some on the European Left have been eager to exploit the situation, turning her into a martyr for the movement, while turning a blind eye to the violent crimes she is accused of.

Even if elected, it is not certain that Salis would be eligible for immunity, nor automatically freed.

If the Hungarian authorities do not want to release her, they could submit a request to the EU Parliament to waive her immunity.

Any final decision would rest with the (admittedly ideologically biased) European Court of Justice.

Hamas controls the streets of Europe

by Giulio Meotti

Everything is going just great.

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh will visit Recep Tayip Erdogan in Turkey, who wants to be sultan but is also head of the second largest NATO army.

Speaking of NATO, which has its headquarters in Brussels…

Three locations changed in 48 hours and then the suspension by the police. Thus ended the meeting of European conservatives scheduled for Brussels, organized by the Edmund Burke Foundation and the Israeli philosopher Yoram Hazony. The Belgian police announced the revocation of the permits and set the seal for the immediate closure of the National Conservatism conference for “public order reasons” (it took a judge for the doors to be reopened). As if it were a crime scene.

It was not a meeting of fascists. Among the speakers, the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, the former head of the German secret service Hans-Georg Maasen, the Israeli Minister for the Diaspora Amichai Chikli, the former English Interior Minister Suella Braverman, the former Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Moroawiecki , the French conservative leader Eric Zemmour, the Brexit leader Nigel Farage (whose bank account was also closed in England for political dissent, as if we were in the USSR), scholars and intellectuals such as Frank Furedi and Melanie Phillips.

The socialist mayor of Brussels, Philippe Close, had refused to make a space available and the event was moved to a hotel in the neighborhood near the EU institutions. Then a further change at Claridge’s in the center of Brussels after the interference of the mayor of Etterbeck who put pressure on the Sofitel hotel to cancel the conference.

In practice, the entire European capital was committed to ensuring that nothing different was said about Islam, immigration and the fate of Western civilization. Writes Ayaan Hirsi Ali: “Radical Islamists manipulate incredibly naive Western liberals”.

The video in which Zemmour is blocked from entering the conference comes from Eurabia. But this is what happens when you don’t fight against Islamization: its critics are banned, as if we were in China, Iran, Russia or Venezuela.

When I defined Belgium as “Europe’s first Muslim state” a year ago, it was not hyperbole.

Last month Belgian police arrested four young jihadists who had planned a terrorist attack against a cultural center in Brussels. The terrorism alert level in Brussels is three, with level four representing the maximum and was reached with the massacres of 2016.

The mayor of Brussels’ Saint Josse, Emir Kir, a Turkish socialist close to the Gray Wolves who denies the Armenian genocide, decided to censor the police.

13 out of 29 Saint Josse city councilors have Muslim names.

What a strange Europe, isn’t it?

“In the past, Belgium welcomed Victor Hugo in exile,” Zemmour wrote. “Now this country lives between the caliphate and the dictatorship”.

Meanwhile in Brussels , Hamas is fundraising and public relations under the nose (and complacency) of the EU, and the city’s Jews lived in fear.

While Brussels was doing everything it could to prevent a conservative conference from taking place, in London Niyak Ghorbani, an Iranian dissident, who had been alongside the Jewish community for months with his sign stating “Hamas is terrorist”, was arrested again.

Zemmour was also designated as “persona non grata” by the mayor of London, Sadiq Khan. He has not found a place where he can speak in the English capital, where Islamic fundamentalists are free to occupy buildings and streets.

The French writer Renaud Camus, 76 years old who coined the expression “Great Replacement”, was supposed to walk the streets of the Brussels municipality of Saint-Josse in a demonstration against migration policy. But the march never took place. The mayor prevented it. From the data, which dates back even to a few years ago, Saint-Josse is already 49 percent Islamic. But the problem is Camus.

Personalities critical of Islamism and who live protected by the police have also been banned in London. Like Geert Wilders, the Dutch politician protected by a Dutch army unit generally responsible for ensuring the security of an embassy in a hostile land. When he landed at Heathrow Airport, Wilders was stopped and put back on the next flight to The Hague.

It was 2009, when this green, fanatical, ignoble and violent tide could still be stopped. In 2024 it’s a tsunami. And how do you stop a tsunami?

It’s the prophecy of Bernard Lewis, who said that “at the end of the century Europe will be Islamic”.

And Lewis had seen nothing of what we have before our eyes now, every day, for years and for the next years to come.

Worshipping Race & Minorities: How Liberalism Created Woke by Making Race Sacred

Prof. Eric Kaufmann argues that whilst Marxists and other radical left activists certainly contributed to today’s progressive ideology, it was actually modern liberalism that is most to blame for the rise of woke. Prof. Kaufmann’s new book is “Taboo: How Making Race Sacred Produced a Cultural Revolution”. It may be pre-ordered here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Taboo-Making…
