Poland: Lawfare Continues Against Opposition Conservatives as Former Officials’ Homes Raided

Screen grab youtube

Polish special services searched the homes of former government officials on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 26th and 27th, as part of an investigation into alleged misuse of funds. Opposition lawmakers are fuming at what they see as yet another attempt by the recently installed Tusk government to purge its political foes.

On Tuesday, special services forced their way into the home of former justice minister, Zbigniew Ziobro, who served in the previous conservative government. On Wednesday, they searched the home of former deputy justice minister Michał Woś and another house belonging to Ziobro’s family, Reuters reports. Three former justice ministry officials and one other person were detained.

According to the prosecutor’s office, the investigation relates to alleged misuse of money from the Justice Fund, managed by the Justice Ministry, and set up to help victims of crime and help rehabilitate criminals. Left-wing media reports accused Ziobro of using the fund for political purposes: handing out grants to districts where members of his party were standing for elections and spending some of the money on the so-called Pegasus spyware to spy on opposition politicians. Ziobro denies the allegations and called the police raids “illegal.” He said they were carried out on the orders of Prime Minister Donald Tusk and current Justice Minister Adam Bodnar.

The left-liberal government of Donald Tusk came into power in December, after succeeding in forming a coalition government where the election winners, Law and Justice (PiS) had failed to do so. Tusk promised to hold to account anyone who “broke the law” during the eight years of the previous government. After the raids, Tusk tweeted: “Let the law always mean the law, and justice is justice,” a clear mockery of the former ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party.

His government has wasted no time in hunting down its political opponents: it dismissed the top executives of the public service broadcaster, jailed two PiS MPs, and replaced the country’s prosecutors. The next in line could be the president of the central bank who may be dragged before a special tribunal. The Tusk government is alleging that the National Bank of Poland among other things adjusted monetary policy before the October election to benefit the ousted PiS party.

Despite these worrying signs that the law is being misused for political purposes, EU institutions which regularly lambasted the conservative government for so-called ‘rule of law’ violations, are now not voicing their concerns. In fact, the EU is rewarding Poland with the unblocking of funds that were frozen during the tenure of the PiS government. EU leaders have made no secret of the fact that they favour Tusk over PiS because of his political stance and his commitment to EU “values.”

Patryk Jaki, a member of the European Parliament for Sovereign Poland—the former coalition partner of PiS—accused the new authorities of using “gangster methods” against its opponents and of investigating the Justice Fund “because only leftist organisations are allowed to receive money.” Former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki called the raids “political revenge” and the desire by the Tusk government to draw attention away from the fact that it had only fulfilled 12 out of 100 promises in its first 100 days in office.

The investigation comes at a time of increased political pressure on the government as it faces its first electoral test with the local elections on April 7th, followed by the European elections on June 9th.

Paris headmaster resigns after death threats for asking student to remove her veil

A Paris headmaster resigned on March 26, after receiving death threats for asking a student to remove her veil before taking an exam.

On March 1, staff at Maurice-Ravel High School asked a 19-year-old student to remove a veil she had put on in the courtyard, in line with school regulations.

French law has prohibited students or teachers from wearing ‘ostentatious’ religious symbols in schools, since 2004.

Teaching staff also said they needed the student to remove her veil so they could check her identity, before the examination.

The student refused to remove her face veil, after which school staff alerted the headteacher about the issue.

During a “tense” exchange, the student says she was “violently slapped on the arm”, as she told Le Parisien newspaper.

After this, she filed a formal complaint at the local police station.

Police investigated the complaint but did not issue her with any days of incapacity for work.

The incident caused some students at the school to stage a protest, leading classes to be cancelled for the day.

Protestors blocked the school entrance with rubbish bins and called for a student strike.

Since March 1, there have been several death threats against the principal on social media, as well as threats to attack the school.

The Paris prosecutor’s office opened an investigation for cyberbullying. “Since these events, death threats against the principal have been observed online. The national unit for combating online hate speech has taken up this matter,” it explained.

The principal also filed a complaint for “an act of intimidation against a person participating in the performance of a public service mission in order to obtain an exemption from the rules governing this service.”

But on March 26, the principal chose to resign.

The school’s governing body announced the news to parents, students, teachers, and members of the board of directors. Rather than citing “security reasons” as the cause, it opted for “personal reasons”.

A 26-year-old man has already been arrested after making online threats to kill the principal. He is scheduled to stand trial April 23.

French schools are seen as a battleground, often literally, between the French secular state and religious fundamentalists. Teachers, on the frontline, have increasingly fallen victim to attacks.

In October 2020, history and geography teacher Samuel Paty was stabbed to death and beheaded by an 18-year-old Russian citizen of Chechen origin with a refugee status.

One of Paty’s students said that in a class on freedom of expression, he had shown his students Charlie Hebdo‘s 2012 cartoons depicting the Islamic prophet Muhammad.

The student was herself absent from the class that day.

Abdoullakh Anzorov, who used a cleaver to kill and behead the teacher, was shot dead by police shortly afterward.

JAPAN: Trans-Identified Male Care Worker Sentenced to Prison for Sexually Assaulting, Raping Female Employee

A trans-identified male who sexually assaulted three female employees at a disability support organization, of which he was a representative, has been sentenced to six years in prison for his crimes. Kazumi Watanabe, 57, who claims to “have a woman’s heart,” was sentenced March 27 at the Osaka District Court’s Sakai branch.

Watanabe was first arrested on February 7, 2023, after he was accused of sexual assault by multiple female staff members. At the time of his arrest, Watanabe was the owner and head of Aoi Sodanshitsu, a public company that provided services for disabled or otherwise disadvantaged individuals and their families. The company had an agreement with the municipal government of Takaishi, Osaka Prefecture, which referred people with vulnerabilities to Aoi Sodanshitsu for assistance when needed. Watanabe and his staff would then provide supportive consultations and referrals to relevant welfare services.

According to the indictment, Watanabe sexually assaulted multiple female employees and patrons of the business in 2021, luring them into a vulnerable position under the guise of giving them a “massage.” In order to make his victims comfortable enough to trust him, he’d claim he was not sexually attracted to women and had the “heart of a woman.” After they allowed him to touch their bodies, he would sexually assault them. In at least one of the cases, Watanabe raped a victim by forcible penetration.

One woman, in her forties, was a client of the disabilities counseling project. As Watanabe began to massage her, groping her breasts and genitals, he made comments about touching her “pubic bone,” and suggested he could make her breasts bigger, and made her walk around in her underwear.

In its decision, the District Court stated: “The method of committing the crime under the pretense of a offering a massage by lying about his gender identity was cunning, and the fact that he repeated it clearly showed that he had sexual distortions. He also took advantage of his position. This is a strong condemnation.”

Kazumi Watanabe. Source: Facebook

Watanabe often told others around him that his “body was a man,” but his “heart was a woman.” He dressed in women’s clothing, had manicured nails, and claimed to have “gender dysphoria,” a diagnosis he is not known to officially have.

One of the victims, a woman in her 50s, spoke to local media and said she felt “tricked” by her former employer.

“I was tricked… and he used my weaknesses against me. He played dirty and it’s unforgivable.”

The victim had been working at the company for only a few months when the incident occurred. Part of her work duties included supporting disabled or disadvantaged clients and their families by listening to their concerns and engaging in consultations. She said she had enjoyed her job, which had been directly under Watanabe’s supervision.

The victim explains that in May of 2021, Watanabe approached her while the two were alone in the workplace. He offered her a massage to relieve her stressful posture. While the victim appears to have been reluctant to let Watanabe touch her body at first, the man quickly asserted: “I have gender identity disorder. I’m not interested in female bodies.”

The woman eventually complied as she was scared to disrespect her boss and lose her job. Her guard lowered because of Watanabe’s claims about his identity, the victim allowed him to massage her. She says it started off with her shoulders, but gradually escalated until Watanabe was touching the lower half of her body. He then assaulted her.

Following the abuse, Watanabe threatened to strip the employee of her certification if she quit. She reported the case to the police following the threat.

Aoi Sodanshitsu, an establishment in Takaishi, Osaka, which provides consultation and support services, headed by Kazumi Watanabe (Mainichi/Minhyang Hong

Another victim, a part-time worker in her 30s, had been lured to a hotel in Osaka under the pretenses that Watanabe, who claimed he was a trained aesthetician, would offer her a massage to help with physical pain. The woman reported being sexually assaulted in the hotel to police, the incident taking place in April 2021.

Watanabe denied the allegations, first by saying, “The woman pulled down her pants and underwear and made him touch her,” but also by claiming that the massage room was “too small for obscene acts.” Watanabe’s defense attorney presented the argument that the women had agreed to the assault.

During court proceedings, the prosecution stated that Watanabe used the trust he had built by operating a counseling support business for people with disabilities in order to take advantage of his position and to commit the sexual crimes against employees and users.

“Not only is this a familiar tactic, but it is also recognized that he took advantage of the victim’s position and tried to hide the crime, which is extremely ugly, and there are no circumstances in Watanabe’s favor,” the prosecuting attorney said.

UK: Chemical attacker Abdul Ezedi given Muslim burial despite claiming to be Christian

Ezedi was reportedly given a Muslim burial BBC/Met Police

Chemical attacker Abdul Ezedi was given a Muslim funeral service despite claiming he had converted to Christianity.

The 35-year-old allegedly attacked a family in Clapham, south London with a corrosive substance.

Now, new footage has shown his funeral was allegedly held at a mosque in west London before he was given a Muslim burial at a ceremony in east London on March 11.

Ezedi was subject to a nationwide manhunt after he allegedly poured chemicals on his former partner and her children in January. His body was later found in the Thames.

The Muslim funeral director, who did not want to be named, told the BBC: “As a funeral director, we don’t look into people’s past, we look at how we can help in a situation. Our job was just to provide a dignified burial for the deceased.”

Ezedi arrived in the UK on January 8, 2016, but his initial asylum claim was refused by the Home Office, with an appeal later rejected by the courts the following year, according to the documents.

He was handed a suspended sentence at Newcastle Crown Court on January 9, 2018, after pleading guilty to charges of sexual assault and exposure, instead being placed on the sex offender register for 10 years and ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work.

Just over a year later, on March 19, 2019, he challenged the decision again by lodging an appeal with the First-tier Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber), arguing he feared persecution because of his religion. The papers confirm his claim was granted after a hearing in Newcastle on October 28, 2020.

Ezedi was “prepared to deceive” and “use religion for his own ends” and had been unable to demonstrate a “clear understanding of Christian principles and beliefs”, according to court records of the Home Office’s submissions.

Now, MPs have criticised both the Government and the church for the way Ezedi’s case was handled. Shadow home secretary Yvette Cooper said Home Secretary James Cleverly needed to explain why the sex offender was able to remain in the country two years after his first asylum claim was rejected.

The MP for Normanton, Pontefract and Castleford said: “The latest disturbing revelations about the Abdul Ezedi case raise some serious and urgent questions for the Home Office.

“The Home Secretary must explain why his department failed to remove Ezedi from the UK in the two years after his first asylum claim was rejected – particularly after he was convicted of sexual offences.”

Reform MP for Ashfield, Lee Anderson, said: “There have been failings by the church and actually the appeals panel are at fault as well. The good news is if you enter this country illegally and then go on to commit horrific sex crimes you can bank on a church and the whole asylum process to come down on your side and grant you asylum.

“The church is knowingly going to a tribunal, knowing full well this man is a sex offender.”

Meanwhile, a minister has claimed that the Government’s Safety of Rwanda (Asylum and Immigration) Bill will help to prevent future cases similar to that of Ezedi once it becomes law.

The Bill is currently caught in a legislative tussle between the House of Commons and the House of Lords over concerns about human rights and judicial oversight.

Science minister Andrew Griffith told Sky News: “We can’t run an asylum system based on credulous clerics and lefty lawyers. That is why we are fundamentally reforming it.”

Telegram scam exposed enabling migrants to pay for German-language test answers to obtain citizenship

A German public broadcaster has uncovered a “cash for test results” scam in which migrants can pay for the answers to a German-language test required to obtain citizenship in the country.

An undercover operation by an employee of the WDR broadcaster exposed the scheme in which those seeking to pass the B1 German-language exam could join a group on the end-to-end encrypted messaging app Telegram and obtain the test results just days before they sit the exam.

The broadcaster was initially tipped off about the scam by a woman who recently sat the exam and noticed that many of the other entrants were overly confident and finished the test unnaturally quickly. When she asked how they had finished so fast, she was told by one woman that their husband had purchased the test results for her in the lead-up to the exam.

“She told me that you can get the questions for the test in a Telegram group for money,” the woman, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told WDR.

With the assistance of an Arabic-speaking colleague, journalists at the broadcaster conducted their own investigations into the allegation and soon found a group on the messaging app advertising test results for the bi-weekly integration exam.

Upon paying €250, the WDR employee received the test results for the exam to be held two days later.

“Some questions only state which answer is correct. Others have additional explanations in Arabic,” the broadcaster reported.

The exam is regulated by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) and is currently taken by around 20,000 people every two weeks. When questioned by the broadcaster as to how test results could be leaked to then be sold on the black market, BAMF’s head of the integration courses department, Benjamin Beckmann, suggested that someone at the test facility must be responsible.

“The most obvious thing is that a person at an exam center — probably with at least several people in the know — got the security envelope, in which the examination documents were sent, opened them improperly, and took photos of these documents,” he said.

Such an act would inevitably lead to an employee’s termination and the bringing of criminal charges, he added.

The small issue in ascertaining the leak, however, is the fact that the test questions are distributed to 1,467 course providers and then delivered to 4,000 test centers across the country.

Jörn Weingärtner, managing director of GAST eV which is commissioned by BAMF to conduct the tests in Bochum, told WDR that it was inevitable there would be weakness in the chain of delivery.

“Every other weekend, a lot of paper is sent through the Republic, which goes through a lot of hands. And it’s in the nature of things that there can be a weak point somewhere,” he said.

With 360,000 migrants passing the exam last year alone, questions are now being raised as to how many paid for the answers ahead of time and fraudulently achieved a false language grade that facilitated their naturalization in Germany.

Farmers Pressure EU Agriculture Ministers in Latest Brussels Protest

Screen grab youtube

In what has become a familiar sight for Brussels commuters, Belgian police faced off with protesting farmers in the heart of the EU capital on Tuesday morning as Europe’s wave of agrarian demonstrations again swept into the city ahead of June’s European elections.

A combination of Flemish, Wallonian, and French farmers lined the streets of Brussels’ European district from 10 a.m. in a protest against the EU’s prohibitive green policies as well as cheap imports and looming trade agreements threatening the bloc’s farmers.

The day’s events were spearheaded by the Federation of Young Farmers (FJA) and the Walloon Federation of Agriculture (FWA) with the Belgian press placing numbers at approximately 300 tractors.

Farmers were mobilising against a meeting of EU Agricultural Ministers occurring nearby at the European Council buildings. This is the third major farmer demonstration this year so far, and farming lobbies said they would continue to pile pressure on Eurocrats heading into June in a pan-European display of strength.

While the protest transpired largely without violence, a standoff erupted between farmers and riot police near the European Commission’s headquarters in Berlaymont, with protesters throwing flash bombs and eggs at police

Belgian police responded by installing a protective ring of barriers and contingents of riot squads around most EU institutions, including the European Parliament. Water cannons were deployed to douse burning barricades. Farmers ceremonially poured slurry on the city’s famous ‘The Future Is Europe’ mural adjacent to the European Commission as tractors dumped hay and mud on the streets around the EU quarter.

The day’s events occurred in tandem with additional farmer protests across Europe. A confluence of issues—ranging from the threat posed by Ukrainian food imports to the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and the overbearing regulatory burden of the Green Deal—is helping to drive Europe’s farmers into the streets. The agrarian unrest has led many traditional centre-right parties to shift their rhetoric in light of the upcoming elections.

Kurds and Turks battle in the streets of Belgium as ethnic tensions flare

Screen grab youtube

Kurds and Turks have been fighting in the streets of Belgium streets in recent days, causing strained relations between both communities to sour further.

Sources told media that, on the evening of March 24 as a group of ethnic Kurds were returning to their homes in the Leuven city municipalities of Heusden-Zolder and Houthalen-Helchteren in East Belgium after Persian New Year celebrations, events descended into violence with hundreds of people fighting in the streets.

It is said that vehicles were damaged and windows smashed with clubs. A police helicopter was called in, as well as officers from outside the area.

The affected Turks claim when the Kurds were approaching their homes, they were waving Kurdish flags and showing pictures of Abdullah Öcalan, a political prisoner in Turkey and founding member of the militant Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). They were also loudly chanting “PKK”, it was claimed.

The PKK is a separatist organisation, in conflict with Turkey. The Turkish authorities, the US and the European Union all officially label it a terrorist organisation.

Outraged Turks and Belgians of Turkish descent saw Sunday’s events as provocation and challenged the Kurds, forcing them to flee.

Reportedly, both Turkish and Kurdish community members then started to riot, calling for support from within their social circles. As a result of the Sunday riots, six people had sustained injuries and the police had made several arrests.

Kurds claim that the problems started with those allegedly affiliated with the Grey Wolves, a nationalistic political group with a paramilitary history often described as “far-right” by opponents.

Kurdish representatives’ organisation NavBel said in a press release that Grey Wolves initiated the riots by attacking “an innocent Kurdish family”.

Turks are accused of making what is a recognised Grey Wolves’ hand gesture, a salutation where a fist is formed with the little finger and index finger raised.

The AK Party of Turkish President Recep Erdogan is alleged to be affiliated with the right-wing nationalist MHP, which is home to the Grey Wolves, its youth organisation.

Erdogan is in an ongoing struggle with the PKK. “Therefore, we think the extremist Turkish attack is a well-planned and co-ordinated attack aimed at intimidating European communities,” NavBel said.

The Kurdish side labelled the Turks involved as “fascists”.

On the afternoon of March 25, NavBel aired its outrage at a protest in Brussels on Luxembourg Square. Some 200 people showed up. Luxembourg square was chosen apparently to highlight the alleged lack of action from the European Union regarding Erdogan.

The Kurds did not make an official request to hold the protest but the police allowed it to go ahead anyway. Still, as riots broke out they had to use tear gas and a water cannon to quell the violence.

The discontent also spread to other parts of Belgium.

In the city of Visé, a mob clad in balaclavas and wielding baseball bats reportedly launched a violent assault on a café primarily visited by members of the local Turkish community. They allegedly also threw Molotov cocktails at the café.

Firefighters were unable to intervene, so police stepped in. Three people required hospital treatment.

On the evening of March 25, around 70 Turkish people gathered in Ghent to protest against what they saw as Kurdish provocation.

In another incident, a motorist is said to have made the PKK hand gesture and drove against traffic on a bicycle lane.

A mob chased and cornered him, pulled him out of this car and beat him up. Police quickly stepped in and arrested the man. “He is in custody and will be prosecuted for inciting hatred,” the mayor of Visé said.

To stop the violence from spreading further, there is now enhanced police supervision near schools, mosques and venues deemed at enhanced risk of being targeted.

“Foreign conflicts should not be fought out here,” said the Flemish Minister for Justice and Enforcement, Environment, Energy and Tourism Zuhal Demir, herself of Kurdish origin.

“When it comes to the conflicts in Turkey, displaying effigies of Öcalan and Erdogan on each other’s territory is a provocative act.

“However,” Demir continued, “here in Flanders, there is no such conflict and violence should never be tolerated.

“Let’s all uphold that principle and respect each other.”

Local politicians said it was important to remain calm and not to fuel rumours or inaccuracies that appear on social media regarding the events.

Tom Van Grieken, chairman of Vlaams Belang, the Flemish nationalist, right-wing populist party, stated on X: “Importing the entire world also means importing all the conflicts of that world.

“We must dismantle multiculturalism and regain control.”

British Border Police Accused of Abusing October 7 Massacre Survivors

Wikimedia Commons . Paul Townley, CC-BY-SA-4.0

A survivor of the horrific Hamas massacre at the Supernova music festival on October 7 told the Jerusalem Post on Tuesday that U.K. Border Force officers harassed and abused him and his brother, a fellow survivor, when they flew into the Manchester airport on Sunday.

Neria and Daniel Sharabi, 22 and 23 years old, respectively, were among the 3,000 young attendees at the open-air Supernova music festival in southern Israel on October 7 when Hamas attacked, turning the holiday event into a bloody massacre. One of the survivors compared the scene to a gruesome horror movie that went on for four hours.

The Sharabi brothers were credited with saving dozens of lives during the attack by scrounging weapons from a tank, heroically holding the Hamas death squad at bay, and administering emergency medical aid to the wounded.

Neria used his phone to record video evidence of the attack, while Daniel used his to obtain guidance from his former commander in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Several of their friends were abducted or killed during the assault.

Neria and Daniel flew into Manchester on Sunday to give a speech to the local Jewish community about their experiences during the Supernova attack and to raise awareness for the nonprofit group they founded, the Association for Survivors and Wounded. Daniel said the group would help survivors of the massacre and remember the dead.

He explained in February:

There are many organizations to help disabled soldiers and soldiers with PTSD. Everyone also knows the victims of kibbutzim like Kfar Aza and Be’eri – because they’re all from the same place, but no one knows who these thousands of people are from all over the country that survived the massacre, after 364 died and 50 were kidnapped.

The Sherabis said the Border Forces officers at the Manchester airport grew hostile after they saw the Israeli passports that the brothers presented.

“Their faces immediately changed. I saw the antisemitism in their eyes, from the moment they started interrogating us,” Neria told the Jerusalem Post on Monday.

Neria said the officers detained the brothers for two hours to “make sure that you are not going to do what you are doing in Gaza over here,” a reference to the Israeli self-defense operation against Hamas.

Daniel captured the angry response of the Border Force officers to accusations of anti-Semitism on video, including one of them growling, “Nobody has said that once, so knock the attitude off.”

“I’ve made the decision, and you’re coming in,” the officer said. “Let us do the checks that we need to do and keep quiet … We’re the bosses, not you.”

The Sharabi brothers said that after they were taken to detention, officers sternly interrogated them on the subject of their planned speech to the Jewish community and their service in the IDF. They were eventually released and able to give their speech, but Neria said they were made to feel unsafe throughout the encounter. He expressed reluctance to return to the United Kingdom, even if the mission of his non-profit requires it.

The Manchester Jewish community quickly lodged complaints with the airport, which claimed the officers were not its employees so the complaint would be bumped to the Home Office.

“We are investigating this,” Home Secretary James Cleverly confirmed Monday night. “We do not tolerate antisemitism or any form of discrimination. This incident will be handled in line with our disciplinary procedures.”

The Jewish Representative Council of Greater Manchester and Region denounced the “unnecessary and demeaning tone” that the Border Force officers adopted, while a group called North West Friends of Israel (NWFOI) suggested the police should investigate their behavior as a hate crime.

NWFOI Co-Chair Raphi Bloom said:

This is another shocking incident where UK government employees target Jews and discriminate against them because they oppose Israel’s actions in defending itself in Gaza. In this case it was a border control officer and last week it was nurses at one of Manchester’s largest hospitals.

Bloom was referring to an incident in which nurses allegedly mistreated a nine-year-old British-born boy with Israeli relatives at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. The boy said the uniforms of the nurses were festooned with pro-Palestinian propaganda, making him so nervous that he removed his yarmulke. The nurses allegedly denied care to the boy, who requires regular blood transfusions.

Bloom told the Jerusalem Post

Jews are increasingly scared to identify themselves in public places. The UK government has promised to act on extremism and Jew hate but so far these are empty words. These civil servants need to be sacked and the police investigate them for antisemitism immediately.

Bestselling author and columnist Douglas Murray pronounced the Manchester airport incident “utterly disgraceful” on Tuesday and vowed to take legal action if the Border Force officials are not identified and punished.

“How dare UK border guards treat victims of terror worse than they treat Hamas operatives and sympathizers who come through their gates every day,” Murray wrote.

The senior Jewish Conservative Member of Parliament, former Attorney General Sir Michael Ellis, denounced the treatment of the Sharabi brothers as a “manifestation” of the “widespread anti-Semitism” that the October 7 atrocity unleashed.

“These are people in uniform acting for this country as Border Force officers. It is a disgrace beyond all proportion. Their detention for several hours was clearly unlawful,” Ellis said in Parliament on Tuesday.

The Sharabi brothers visited New York City in February to give a presentation like the one they gave in Manchester. They were confronted by a deranged Hamas supporter who was in the process of tearing down posters of Israeli hostages when he noticed the brothers holding signs about the October 7 massacre.

“Why don’t you go blow up another hospital? Why don’t you kill 10,000 more kids?” the man hissed as New York City police took him into custody.

After the encounter, Neria said he had heard stories of Hamas supporters tearing down pictures of Jewish hostages, but he had never before seen the vandalism in person.

“You see it in videos, but when it happens in reality, I get pissed off. People deny our experience, but you can’t deny reality. We’re proof it happened,” he said.

“I have video of our friends being raped, kidnapped to Gaza. We’re here to face them and tell them that they’re liars. If they think this never happened, they’re just brainwashed,” he said.
