UK Foreign Office Staff Told Not To Call Hamas ‘Terrorists’, Israel a ‘White, Settler Colonialist Nation’: Report

UK Foreign Office staff were reportedly told that it was wrong to call Hamas terrorists and that Israel, as a “white, settler colonialist” nation, was ultimately to blame for the conflict in the Middle East.

report from the London-based Jewish Chronicle claimed that the Foreign Office held a seminar for civil servants in which they were lectured by four academics, Professor Jeroen Gunning from King’s College London,  Dr Tristan Dunning of the University of Queensland, Dr Anas Iqtait of Australian National University in Canberra, and Dr Martin Kear of the University of Sydney, on how to discuss the conflict between Israel and Hamas in the wake of the October 7th terror attacks.

The session, which was attended by around 100 top staff members from the government’s diplomatic arm, was billed “Israel/Gaza: What next for Hamas” and was set up by the senior Middle East research analyst from the Foreign Office, Martin Hetherington.

Despite Hamas terrorists killing around 1,200 people in Israel and taking hundreds more captive, Foreign Office staff were reportedly told that using the “terrorist label” for Hamas was “unhelpful” and that it may serve to derail efforts to achieve a peace settlement under the pretence that the “political wing” of Hamas was more “moderate” and therefore necessary to “engage with them”.

After being pressed by Foreign Office staff was whether the October 7th massacre should be described as terrorism, the academics are said to have refused to respond, however, Professor Gunning reportedly said that it should be viewed in the context of Palestinian “resistance” to the supposed “occupation” from Israel, despite the Jewish state withdrawing from Gaza in 2005.

Meanwhile, Dr Dunning said that as an Australian: “I know all about white, settler colonialism and stealing land from the native population,” comparing Israel to the British colonisation of Australia.

Responding to the revelations from the seminar held for civil servants, a Foreign Office spokesman said: “The UK Government’s position is unequivocal that Hamas is a terrorist organisation. Many of the views expressed by the academics in the seminar were wrong and contrary to the government’s position.

“We have a zero-tolerance approach to any form of discrimination, including antisemitism. We are reviewing guidance on internal seminars to ensure speakers invited are appropriate.”

The four academics previously co-authored a report submitted to the House of Commons on Foreign Affairs Select Committee in the month following the October 7th attacks.

In their paper, they claimed that British foreign policy was partially to blame for the terror attack, claiming that the “dismissal of the political overtures of Hamas’s political leadership since 2006” and a lack of pressure put on Israel to end the so-called “siege” of Gaza “helped to create the conditions” for the massacre in Israel last year.

“The designation of all of Hamas as terrorist by the UK and other Western governments has furthermore helped to create a permissive environment for Israel to target any building or person in Gaza, as many are connected to Hamas in one way or another as the de facto government, a major social welfare provider, and a social movement with grassroots support,” their report added.

The academics went on to argue that in providing arms to the Jewish state, the UK could be found “complicit in war crimes committed during Israel’s punitive war on Gaza, including potentially the charge of genocide.”

US bishops attend secretive pro-transgender conference organized by heretical New Ways Ministry

Bishop John Stowe of Lexington, Kentucky, in a video message for 2020 ‘Pride Month’ – YouTube

More than a dozen Catholic bishops met recently for a closed door pro-transgender conference at Jesuit-run St. Louis University, organized by the heretical, pro-LGBT New Ways Ministry.

The move comes as the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is working on formalizing a universal policy in line with the doctrinal note published by the doctrinal committee of the bishops’ conference in March 2023 condemning transgender surgeries and hormones as gravely immoral acts of mutilation and chemical sterilization.

The purported reason for the closed door conference was “to listen to trans people [sic] and their families, as well as to theologians, medical professionals and those in church ministry,” according to the dissident National Catholic Reporter, and “to help bishops better understand the experience of trans people [sic] and inform the pastoral care in their respective dioceses.”

There were reportedly about 40 attendees at the conference. Notably among those present was heterodox, pro-LGBT Bishop John Stowe of Lexington, Kentucky, who voiced his support for transgender ideology saying, “that we are not talking about something that is fabricated, that people have a right to be called as they wish to be called… This is not just an issue of gender theory; it’s people’s lived experience,” suggesting that people should be called by false transgender pronouns and names.

He added that he thought hearing about transgender-identifying individuals’ “transitions,” which often include mutilating surgeries and drugs condemned by the Church, “was powerful and moving.”

National Catholic Reporter did not name other bishops who attended the conference and said that “New Ways Ministry chose not to comment on this year’s gathering.”

LifeSiteNews reached out to New Ways Ministry as well as Bishop Stowe for comment, but did not receive a reply before publication.

The event was the second such pro-transgender conference for bishops sponsored by New Ways Ministry, founded by the notoriously dissident, pro-LGBT Sr. Jeannine Gramick, who was prohibited from conducting her pro-homosexual “ministry” in 1999 by then-Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger and Pope St. John Paul II for her scandalous and grave departures from Catholic teaching on sexual morality. However, she has been highly praised and welcomed to the Vatican by Pope Francis, who has thanked her for her activism, despite her continued dissent from the Church’s moral doctrine.

New Ways Ministry openly rejects Catholic teaching and divine revelation on homosexuality, marriage, and gender.

The first pro-transgender event News Ways Ministry hosted for U.S. bishops took place in January 2023 at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., which similarly pushed its deviant sexual agenda under the guise of “pastoral outreach.”

LifeSiteNews contacted the chancery of Bishop Daniel Flores of Brownsville, Texas, to ask if he had been invited or attended the event, since as head of the USCCB’s doctrinal committee, he was most responsible for the doctrinal note of 2023 that condemned transgender ideology and procedures.

Bishop Flores’ chancery told LifeSiteNews that it was unaware of the event and the bishop had not attended. His absence is significant, given his leading role in steering a doctrinally correct and clear policy for the U.S. bishops and Catholic institutions throughout the country.

At the USCCB plenary session last June, two prominent pro-LGBT American cardinals attempted to stall a formal revision to the U.S. bishops’ directives to Catholic hospitals and healthcare institutions that would ban transgender surgical mutilations and chemical castration through puberty blockers and hormone infusions, in line with the doctrinal note that Bishop Flores’ doctrinal committee published earlier that year.

At the time, Cardinal Robert McElroy of San Diego called for greater so-called “pastoral outreach” to homosexual and gender-confused individuals, claiming the instruction did not address “the existential question of those who are suffering from dysphoria.”

McElroy joined Cardinal Joseph Tobin of Newark in calling for consultations with “transgender” persons to be part of the revision process of the directives. Tobin criticized the instruction for its “limited consultation” with gender-confused individuals, in a thinly veiled attempt to stall a condemnation of the ideology and practices adopted by such persons.

The pro-transgender conference hosted by New Ways Ministry appears to be an attempt on the part of liberal bishops to engage in “consultation” with “transgender” persons, albeit in the absence of such bishops as may oppose the ideological agenda in favor of Catholic teaching and authentic pastoral practice, such as Bishop Flores, who penned the condemnation last March.

Groundbreaking Dutch CO2 storage-project costs soar

https://www.porthosco2.nl/en/media/

The Dutch Porthos project that aims to capture and store CO2 from industry in empty gasfields beneath the North Sea is proving much more expensive than initially estimated.

Porthos, which stands for Port of Rotterdam CO₂ Transport Hub and Offshore Storage, initially said in 2019 the project’s cost would be around €400 million to €500 million.

On March 8, the Dutch NRC Handelsblad daily newspaper reported that costs have since risen to at least €1.3 billion and that the project is also seriously delayed.

The main reason for the surging financial bill is, according to the operator, high inflation, making materials much more expensive than previously anticipated.

Additionally, Porthos has been plagued by the world energy crisis, NRC noted. There was a huge rise in demand for pipeline materials and other components in 2022 as nations tried to safeguard their power supplies with energy security in jeopardy.

Starting this year, Porthos is set to capture and store 2.5 million tonnes of CO2 annually.

Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is one of the European Union-promoted proposals to meet climate targets in the shorter term. Porthos, a co-operation between three Dutch State-owned enterprises, is co-financed by the European Commission’s Connecting Europe Facility (CEF).

The project operators hope to keep 37 million tonnes of CO2 out of the atmosphere over a 15-year period, or 1.5 per cent of relevant annual emissions. It is one of the first of its kind and has attracted global interest.

Its main delays seem, ironically, due to environmentalist activist Mobilisation for the Environment (MOB) launching official procedures against Porthos. MOB claimed too much nitrogen was released into the atmosphere under initial construction of the project.

MOB also argued that, in essence, it meant the State was paying to reduce emissions by private companies such as refineries Shell and ExxonMobil – for which taxpayers foot the bill.

The Council of State green-lighted Porthos to move ahead but the time taken to receive the go-ahead also meant prices had risen substantially.

Further construction is scheduled to start later this year, followed by CO2 storage beginning in 2026.

Porthos is one of the first attempts at large-scale CO2 storage in depleted gasfields beneath the seabed. It plans to inject the collected CO2 into old fields some 25 kilometres off the Dutch coast.

Proponents of such projects see that approach as an important way to reduce the long-term effect of unregulated CO2 emissions, thus countering climate change.

Despite that, there are concerns about the feasibility of such plans, both technically and financially, when implemented on a larger scale. That is another reason Porthos is in the spotlight internationally.

Shell and Total are working on an even bigger project in the North Sea called Aramis, although as yet that is still in the design phase.

Ireland’s Conservatives Jubilant as Government Loses Family Redefinition Referendum

Screenshot https://twitter.com/hazechu/status/1764580370081620190/photo/1

The Irish electorate looks like having solidly rejected two constitutional amendments that would have erased the word “woman” from the Irish constitution and altered the legal definition of family in what is shaping up to be a 70-30 shock victory for tradition over the nation’s well-financed NGO lobby.

Voters were deciding on two separate questions in the referenda—symbolically held on International Women’s Day, Friday—to widen the legal definition of family to include same-sex relationships and single parents, as well as to delete constitutional provisions that recognized the role women play in the household.

The past few years have seen significant changes to the Republic’s 1937 constitution, Bunreacht na hÉireann, by progressive elites, culminating in the legalisation of abortion by popular vote in 2018 in a rapid decade of liberalisation for the Catholic country.

Now, that slide to the left looks like it’s retreating—at least temporarily.

Throughout the month-long campaign, polls had shown a strong ‘yes’ victory. Today’s  unforeseen upset is likely to send ripples through the corridors of power in Dublin, as the results were overwhelming enough for media agencies to call the two referenda in favour of the ‘No’ side only an hour into counting. Even traditionally liberal constituencies in South Dublin look like they are rejecting the progressive agenda this time.

The result is being directly tied to growing disquiet over migration. Working-class areas of Dublin turned out strongly against the government and the left-wing opposition party Sinn Féin by voting No. The official ‘No’ campaign consisted of a coalition of Catholic and anti-transgender feminist groups and legal experts who expressed concern with the new amendments.

Ireland’s Attorney General already back in December advised the government that vague phrasing of the referenda could cause legal chaos—something that only became public the day before the vote, when Irish news site The Ditch published the opinion.

Government ministers have admitted that the redefinition of family would likely impact migration when it came to polyamorous asylum seekers.

The Chair of the Electoral Commission became a viral sensation by saying that merely a Christmas card addressed to a couple could be cited as legal evidence of being effectively married in the eyes of the law.

Jubilant at the defeat of the government side, the Catholic Family Solidarity group issued a statement on the significance of the result, saying “this vote stands as a critical moment in Irish history, marking the end of an era dominated by liberal conformity” and praised the grassroots ‘No’ campaign that, the organisation said, “fuelled by the conviction and dedication of ordinary citizens, has successfully fought back against the pressures of liberal agendas.”

MPs (TDs), meanwhile, publicly turned the knife on the government for running such a hubristic campaign.

Many on the winning No side have opined that today marks the end of the era where the Irish elite could complacently count on a liberal majority as the country begins to experience the negative effects of mass immigration.

Saturday’s referenda results are likely to set the tone for June’s local and European elections in Ireland as well as a potential general election later in the year. Immigration is becoming a defining issue of Irish politics on the back of a year of grassroots protests against asylum centres as well as November’s Dublin riots, triggered by an Algerian migrant stabbing three schoolchildren and a teacher.

UK: Asylum seekers taken on shopping trips after warning that ‘bored’ migrants could spark violence

There have been concerns about the conditions at MDP Wethersfield . screen grab youtube

Asylum seekers are being kept entertained by going on shopping trips after officials were warned that “bored” migrants could spark violence.

It comes as there is concern that serious violence could break out at MDP Wethersfield airbase in Essex.

It comes after insiders reported “almost nightly fighting” between different nationalities.

Former border watchdog David Neal visited the isolated site near Braintree in December and February and described a feeling of “hopelessness caused by boredom” among residents.

Neal had warned the Government that boredom would “lead to increased criminality, including arson”. His assessment was rejected by the Home Office.

Now, new photos have emerged showing migrants boarding a minibus after a trip into Braintree, which is 15 minutes away from the airbase.

Braintree resident Marion Parker, 44 said: “What message does it send out to others who want to come here? You get free journeys into towns to shop. It’s a complete joke.

“I’m not against immigration at all. But this is a reward for breaking immigration law. Why don’t homeless Brits get free trips to shopping centres?”

David Price, who runs a campaign called Wethersfield Protest, said: “The situation has always been terrible and always will be terrible. It makes absolutely no sense to have it there. The asylum seekers have told me when I have come across them that conditions there are not suited.

“They complain it’s too cold and not good enough. The whole situation is an almighty recipe for disaster. The situation in there is terrible.”

Neal was sacked as Independent Chief Inspector of Borders and Immigration earlier this month after falling out with Home Secretary James Cleverly.

His report followed shocking stories from the site that included brawls, chairs being thrown and some suffering bad injuries.

A Home Office spokesperson said: “We disagree with the assessment made by the former ICIBI on Wethersfield. We take the safety and welfare of asylum seekers at Wethersfield extremely seriously and we will prioritise welfare and integration while increasing occupancy of the site.

“Wethersfield is not a detained site and asylum seekers are free to come and go. A regular transport service is in place to take residents to larger local cities.

“We continue to work across Government and with local authorities to identify a range of accommodation options to reduce the unacceptable use of hotels which cost £8million a day.”

Pakistan: 22-year-old student sentenced to death for blasphemy against the Prophet, another 17-year-old student gets life imprisonment in same case

A 22-year-old Pakistani student has been sentenced to death on charges of committing blasphemy via WhatsApp. This week, a court in Punjab province has given this decision. The student was sentenced to death for sharing videos and photographs that included alleged derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad, the court said. Another 17-year-old student was sentenced to life imprisonment in the same case.

The cybercrime unit of Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Lahore filed a complaint against the student in 2022. The complainant said he had received videos and photographs from three mobile numbers. The FIA said they saw the incriminating material after examining the complainant’s mobile phone.

The court of Pakistan’s most populous province of Punjab announced this decision. The court found these young students guilty of making and sharing blasphemous pictures and videos to hurt the religious sentiments of Muslims.

The counsel for both the students said they were being implicated in a fake case. “The father of the student who has been sentenced to death will file an appeal in the Lahore High Court,” the lawyer said. Blasphemy is punishable by death in Pakistan.

There is a history of mob violence against blasphemy accused in Pakistan. In August 2023, two Christian brothers were accused of desecrating the Quran. Angry people had vandalised the houses of 80 Christians and 19 churches at that time. In one of Pakistan’s most high-profile cases, the blasphemy case against Christian woman Asia Bibi spanned nearly a decade. Her death sentence was overturned. However, she had to flee the country after this.

In February 2023, a mob dragged the blasphemy accused out of the police station and killed him. When the mob attacked the police station, the policemen fled from there. However, the police later returned with extra force and saved the body of Mohammad Waris, accused of blasphemy, from burning. Mohammad Waris was accused of insulting the Quran.

Four suspected Islamic terrorists arrested in raid on Swedish mosque, weapons seized

Sweden’s security police arrested four people on suspicion of preparing Islamist terror attacks during an afternoon raid of a mosque in Stockholm County on Thursday.

Neighbors of the premises in Tyresö, south of the Swedish capital, reported explosions at around 2 p.m. as security police stormed the Islamic cultural association and detained four suspects.

On Thursday evening, Swedish authorities announced in a press release those being held were facing terrorist charges and were suspected of serious weapons offenses.

The public prosecutor’s office noted that the terror charges were associated with Islamist extremism and that authorities were exploring links to serious organized crime.

“There are individuals where we see connections to serious crime in Sweden and also international connections to the terrorist group IS,” said Fredrik Hultgren-Friberg, press spokesperson at the police security service, Säpo.

“What I can say is that we have known about these people for a long time and have made an effort against their plans to ward off a threat,” he added, refusing to elaborate on the particulars of the case.

Broadcaster SVT reported on Friday that two of the suspects were males in their 20s who had been monitored by the security services for some time. One, in particular, had been engaging in criminal activity since as young as 11 years of age and had regularly evaded the authorities.

SVT reported that a personal investigation into that particular suspect by the Prison Service in 2022 showed that he was primarily residing in Morocco.

Several other residential addresses were also raided by police in Tyresö on Thursday, in addition to a warehouse where several weapons were seized, understood to have been acquired to be used in planned terror attacks.

Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer expressed his concern over the incident and highlighted that the operation was evidence of the growing threat of Islamic terror across the country.

“This confirms that we have a high terrorist threat against Sweden and that the security police work intensively and continuously to prevent and prevent this type of serious crime,” he said.

“This shows the importance of continuing to work structured and persistently to combat both terrorism and violent extremism, as well as organized crime,” he added.

Severed head found in apartment of Alvin Bragg’s reported friend – Bragg is Manhattan District Attorney focusing his prosecutorial fire on President Trump

Cops found a dismembered body inside a Bronx apartment and Johnson, 48, a staffer at Queen’s Defenders — is the accused killer caught on surveillance video disguised in a blond wig at the scene of the crime, according to police sources.

By Monica Showalter

Doesn’t everyone have a friend or two who keeps a severed head in his freezer?

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg does, this one an ex-con who got let out of prison after serving only half of his 50-year term last year, and within that year, or possibly earlier, reportedly made friends with Bragg.

Here’s the pair in a shareable picture that reportedly ran on Instagram (I don’t see it now) and which is still being shared on Twitter:

Which is pretty damning for Bragg’s choice of associates. The guy was out of the can for only a year when someone got him an undoubtedly well-paid job at a legal firm called Queens Defenders, whose nstagram tagline reads: “Limiting the impact of a criminal record on employment, housing, education, & public benefits.” Fox News reports that they were among a group of legal defenders seeking a hundreds million dollars from the city for their “services.”

The suspected killer has been busy since getting out of prison last year, working as an advocate with the Queens Defenders, one of several public defenders groups that begged for hundreds of millions of dollars in increased funding last year, according to the Daily News.

In other words, this was a criminal justice “reform” organization in the Soros mode whose name of the game was to ensure no consequences for criminal behavior.

Its Instagram is loaded with “know your rights” and other mechanisms for miscreants to employ to escape justice. Its NGO-like logo is a stylized mailed fist. I don’t see anything on their site about reforming character.

So it should surprise no one that Johnson doesn’t seem to have changed any, despite talking a good public relations line about reforming himself in prison to podcaster Joe Rogan … and a month later reportedly chopping a guy up in his apartment as neighbors said he pleaded for mercy, stuffing the man’s head and legs in his freezer, and quite possibly doing some kind of cement shoes thing with his other body parts, according to police evidence found in reports. He’s quite a guy. It’s hard to think that people didn’t know he hadn’t changed any.

But there Alvin Bragg is, posing with him with such joy in his eyes as one of his best friends forever in the picture, making one wonder how many other savages committing barbaric acts are also in his personal circle.

It matters because Bragg spends all his time ignoring real crime in New York while palling around with these savages, and focusing his prosecutorial fire on President Trump, in some of the most questionable of all the Trump trials — the Stormy Daniels case, and the E. Jean Carroll case. Trump is being prosecuted by a guy whose associates have been caught with body parts in their freezer? This sounds like the reign of savages.

And as for real crime, well:

Alvin Bragg Wants to Do Away With Prison Time for Most Crimes

That must have made Johnson happy. It shouldn’t surprise anyone then that Bragg was someone Johnson counted a friend. It would be interesting to see whether Bragg or his office prosecutes this murder at all, or somehow makes “mistakes” that redound in Johnson’s favor. It would be even more interesting to see if Johnson’s employer gets their hundreds of millions from the city.

Bragg, recall, is the guy who touts his own “courage” on his official website and pontificates about having the “highest standards”?

Alvin also believes that police and prosecutors must be held to the highest standards in order to strengthen community trust in our justice system.

So hanging out with people like these are “the highest standards,” Alvin?

While prosecuting the former president of the United States as the “real” criminal?

This is the sort of garbage one sees in places like Venezuela, where only the dissidents get hit by the long arm of the law, and criminals are allowed to roam free to ensure few public gatherings and protests.

Maybe Bragg should start answering questions about his “highest standards” friend of his in the picture, maybe through congressional hearings. Bragg sounds like he has potential conflicts of interest here — and if so, that suggests that actual criminals may be among the people going after Trump. Let’s hear Bragg explain this association.
