European Greens “Downplayed” Sexual Harassment Allegations

The leadership of the European Greens is under pressure amid claims it failed to treat sexual harassment allegations against one of its rising star MEPs seriously.

German magazine Stern said Terry Reintke, the group’s co-leader in the European Parliament, has gone “into hiding” following a wave of serious questions about her and her colleague Philippe Lamberts’ handling of what has been described as “massive MeToo allegations.” Less than three years ago, Reintke gave a speech in Parliament in which she declared that those who cover up sexual harassment “do the damage.”

The allegations revolve around the Green’s Malte Gallée, who resigned as MEP earlier this month. Stern, which was first to report on the story, said “a number of party employees” had raised complaints concerning cross-border behavior (that which crosses personal boundaries), unwanted touching, and uninvited entry into offices since the summer of 2022, as well as bullying. In a statement posted on his website, Gallée said: “I am convinced that I have done nothing wrong; at the same time, I was and am of course always ready to actively contribute to clarification.”

Stern reported:

The party leadership in Brussels is said to have known about this for some time—without any consequences. Affected women … were also put under pressure.

Green employees last week sent an open letter to their bosses, noting their refusal to “take part in the downplaying of our leadership, which does not do justice to the seriousness of the situation.” This was signed by 100 current and former employees.

Since then, members of the rival European People’s Party have urged for the sexual harassment allegations to be “dealt with in a transparent manner so that such behavior is not covered up or even tolerated.”

Gallée said that he approached the Green’s ombudsman himself in 2022 to investigate what he described as “unspecific rumors about me.”

Politicians across Parliament now want to know exactly how much the group’s leadership knew about the claims and what they did with this information. But they have been disappointed to find that Reintke in particular doesn’t appear to want to give too much away. Green leaders are said to be “hiding behind formal excuses,” leading to the “crumbling” of their support.

Turkish analysts: “With our missiles we can inflict blows on mainland Greece”

Turkish analysts claim that the Atmaca missiles will “allow us to trap the Greek fleet in its ports.” Speaking to CNN Türk, they also claim that “our systems will block all of Greece.”

Turkish analysts and Turkish media are discussing an attack on Greece while simultaneously publishing maps that show how a battle between the two countries will unfold.

SKAI’s correspondent in Istanbul, Manolis Kostidis, comments that actions in Turkey are negatively affecting the so-called good climate that currently exists between the two countries.

He highlights these new efforts come at a time when a meeting between Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is imminent.

Specifically, Turkish analysts report that “with the Atmaca missiles, we will be able to trap the Greek fleet in its ports”. Speaking to CNN Türk, they claim that “our systems will block all of Greece”.

Military analyst Abdullah Ağar commented, “The Atmaca missile is a project that makes us proud. It changes the terms of the game. For example, although we would not like it, this system would block all of Greece if we had tensions. Greece will not be able to take its ships out of its ports. There is so much value in this system.”

For his part, the director of Hürriyet, Ahmet Hakan, said: “It can be launched from our frigates and corvettes, and at the regional level, we are creating a deterrent force. Like in Libya, in Somalia, where we also have an agreement, our ships will begin to acquire a deterrent force.”

Turkish media targeting Greece

According to Manolis Kostidis, Turkish media reports that “with our missiles, we can inflict blows on mainland Greece” and that “we can and do defend the Blue Homeland.”

“What does this rocket do? It has a range of 260 kilometres. Know that the distance from Karabournaki (Καραμπουρνάκι, Turkish: Karaburun) [in Smyrna (Σμύρνη, Turkish: İzmir)] to mainland Greece is 154 kilometres. You understand…” said the president of the strategic research centre, Asam, Eray Guçlüer.

“You see… here is the Black Sea. The Tayfun missile can also be launched with a range of 1,000 kilometres. We also have the SİPER anti-aircraft system. So we have the ability to defend our motherland, our Blue Homeland, and our Heavenly Country…” he added.

The ambassador of Greece presented his credentials to Erdoğan

At the same time, the new ambassador of Greece, Theodoros Bizakis, presented his credentials to Erdoğan on Tuesday.

In fact, according to Manolis Kostidis, the Greek ambassador will also be preparing for Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’s visit to Ankara in May.

Germany: Two more IS terrorists arrested

It’s really unbelievable who is living in the country thanks to the failed migration policy of the left-wing government. But it’s a good thing that there are still a few people out there who are cleaning up the mess made by this traffic light government:

On Monday, the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office had two suspected IS members arrested in the Esslingen area by officers from the Baden-Württemberg State Office of Criminal Investigation. This was announced by the Federal Public Prosecutor General on Tuesday afternoon. The suspects were brought before the investigating judge of the Federal Court of Justice on Monday, who issued the arrest warrants and ordered that they be remanded in custody.

The two Syrian nationals are “strongly suspected of having participated as members of a terrorist organisation abroad”, according to the Federal Public Prosecutor General. One of the suspects is also accused of theft with weapons.

According to the arrest warrant, the accused joined the self-proclaimed “Islamic State” (IS) in the Syrian province of Deir ez-Zor in mid-2014 at the latest. One of them had carried out armed patrols together with other IS fighters and promoted the organisation’s ideology among the population. He was also accused of temporarily commanding an armed IS unit.

Under his command, the unit is said to have arrested at least two members of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) in August or September 2014 and transported them away in shackles.
During another arrest operation, he is said to have handed over a prisoner to the “IS religious police” (Hisba). In doing so, he is said to have appropriated a private vehicle belonging to someone else.

According to the arrest warrant, the second accused is also said to have acted on behalf of this unit. He is also alleged to have been involved in the arrest of the two FSA members in August or September 2014 and is a member of Hisba.

This is unlikely to stop, as Islamists from Syria and other countries can still enter Germany without any problems – and, in the worst case, plot their sinister plans here.

‘We live in fear’ – Gang warfare with automatic weapons breaks out in French city of Rennes, 2 injured before police restore calm

The French city of Rennes faced open gang warfare on Sunday night, with exclusive footage provided to CNews showing men armed with automatic weapons prowling the streets firing volleys of bullets in an hour-long incident that injured two people, one seriously.

Although dozens of shell casings were discovered, reports indicate there were hundreds of rounds fired in the “sensitive” Blosne district of Rennes. Around 2:00 a.m., reports began flowing in of “dozens of explosions” from residents in the area, with the public prosecutor, Philippe Astruc, saying “long weapons” were “fired sporadically, sometimes in bursts” between 1:56 a.m. and 3:03 a.m.”

Video of the incident was broadcast on CNews, which showed men stalking the streets and firing what appears to be Kalashnikov rifles.

One of the victims was struck by a bullet in his arm and the other was hit in the chest. The vehicle the men were driving was “riddled with bullet holes,” according to police.

Bullet holes were also discovered in the facade of two apartment buildings where the gun battle occurred.

“I heard numerous shots during the night, and when I got up I discovered my kitchen completely destroyed,” said one local resident. “We live in fear, we can’t take it anymore with my wife.”

The gun battle occurred for at least an hour, as police were reportedly unwilling to enter the area. Since they were unprepared to deal with a gun battle involving automatic rifles, police were forced to wait for specialized RAID units with armored vehicles to first enter the neighborhood.

Once RAID units moved in, police flooded the area. There is currently a reinforced police presence planned in the neighborhood for the foreseeable future.

The Rennes public prosecutor’s office is already targeting the gangs in the area and opening an investigation into “attempted intentional homicide by an organized gang association.”

“At first analysis, these facts, which could concern around 10 people involved, appear to be part of the fight for control of the drug resale point located at Place de Banat, which had experienced a similar episode on Dec. 6 and 9, 2023,” stated Philippe Astruc.

After that previous incident, four arrests were made.

Ex-Parliamentarian Sentenced to Year in Prison in Belgium over Group Chat ‘Hate Speech’

Court rules group chat “jokes” were actually “Nazi ideology… white supremacy” hate speech, and that a group chat constitutes a public space, sentencing Flemish former parliamentarian to prison.

The Ghent Criminal Court determined that former Parliamentarian Dries Van Langenhove “was infatuated with Nazi ideas” and “wanted to undermine democratic society”, while sentencing him to a year in prison, barring him from holding public office for 10 years, and ordering him to pay a fine of €16,000 ($17,500/£13,700).

The founder and leader of the Flemish nationalist youth organization Schild & Vrienden, which advocates for independence for the Dutch-speaking region of Flanders to break away from the rest of Belgium, was reported in 2018 by public broadcaster VRT to have been involved in a Facebook group that shared alleged racist memes and messages as well as expressing sympathy for Nazi ideology. Belgium, like many countries in Europe, has criminal penalties for denying or celebrating the Holocaust.

“The defendant was infatuated with Nazi ideology, which in its implementation caused and continues to cause untold human suffering. The file shows that he wanted to undermine democratic society and replace it with his social model of white supremacy,” the court said according to Het Laatste Nieuws.

During his trial, Van Langenhove’s legal team argued that many of the messages shared in the group were merely jokes, but the court was not convinced by this argument, claiming that the use of humour served to solidify racist beliefs among those sharing the jokes.

“The forums repeatedly and systematically mocked groups of the population on the basis of so-called race, skin color, nationality, national or ethnic origin or descent, and presented a negative image of these groups or communities and insulted them,” the court added.

The former member of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives also argued that because the messages were shared in a private group, it could not be argued that he was publicly inciting racism, discrimination, segregation, or hatred to others. However, the court found that because the private Facebook group had around 750 members, it could be regarded effectively as a public space.

The head of Van Langenhove’s political party, Vlaams Belang, chairman Tom Van Grieken decried the verdict: “Belgian justice is rotten through and through. Raping children aged 13 and 15? One year conditional. Want to share distasteful ‘memes’? Effective for one year…This has been a political process from day one.”

Dutch political activist Eva Vlaardingerbroek was also heavily critical of the ruling, writing on social media: “This is the absolute state of freedom of speech in Europe. They’re jailing patriotic dissidents. Next time they’ll do this to me, you or anyone who goes against the globalist regime.

“I’m seriously lost for words here. This is full-blown tyranny and we should fight it with all our might.”

Others expressed glee at the decision, including Green party co-chair Nadia Naji, who said: “This ruling is an important victory for everyone fighting for fair opportunities for all… Greens will never tolerate or normalise racism, because racism is always and everywhere reprehensible and painful.”

UK’s National Health Service to stop prescribing puberty blockers to gender-confused children

The UK’s Tavistock center YouTube screenshot

The British National Health Service (NHS) is formally ending the prescribing of puberty blockers to children with gender confusion, in a major policy shift representing a victory against transgender ideology.

The i Paper reports that the change follows the recommendation of a multi-year independent review led by consultant pediatrician Dr. Hilary Cass. The underage use of puberty blockers will now be limited to clinical research trials. The change does not apply to Scotland, whose government says blockers will only be considered for minors “after close psychological and endocrine assessment,” per the report.

“We have always been clear that children’s safety and wellbeing is paramount, so we welcome this landmark decision by the NHS,” said Health Minister Maria Caufield. “Ending the routine prescription of puberty blockers will help ensure that care is based on evidence, expert clinical opinion and is in the best interests of the child.”

Reconsideration of NHS’s standards for chemically “transitioning” young people was bolstered by years of concern over the lax standards at the scandal-ridden Gender Identity Development Service (GIDS), operated by the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust. In January, it was revealed that the facility had seen almost 400 children younger than six years old and more than 70 aged four or younger over the past decade.

The GIDS had long been a source of controversy, from its backing of a discredited study used to justify giving puberty blockers to 11-year-olds, to a case last August in which it approved a “sex-change” procedure for a 22-year-old suffering from over a dozen mental health disorders.

Cass’s report found that the GIDS had failed to consistently collect follow-up data on the long-term outcomes for children who received puberty blockers, “which means it is not possible to accurately track the outcomes and pathways that children and young people take through the service.”

Puberty blockers, which are used to chemically castrate sex offenders, have been shown to devastate bone density in children, putting them at risk of osteoporosis, fractures, and other injuries. Other side effects associated with the drugs include emotional disorders, pseudotumor cerebri, paralysis, renal impairment, sudden cardiac death, and stroke in men, as LifeSiteNews has reported

The Tavistock clinic is closing at the end of the month, and on Cass’s recommendation, NHS will be opening a pair of regional clinics in April, which it says will employ a more “holistic approach to care,” including neurodiversity, pediatrics, and mental health.

significant body of evidence shows that “affirming” gender confusion carries serious harms, especially when done with impressionable children who lack the mental development, emotional maturity, and life experience to consider the long-term ramifications of the decisions being pushed on them, or full knowledge about the long-term effects of life-altering, physically transformative, and often irreversible surgical and chemical procedures.

Studies find that more than 80% of children experiencing gender dysphoria outgrow it on their own by late adolescence, and that even full “reassignment” surgery often fails to resolve gender-confused individuals’ heightened tendency to engage in self-harm and suicide — and may even exacerbate it, including by reinforcing their confusion and neglecting the actual root causes of their mental strife.

Some physicians heavily involved in transitioning minors have been caught on video admitting to more old-fashioned motives for such procedures, as with an exposé last year about Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s Clinic for Transgender Health in the United States, where Dr. Shayne Sebold Taylor said outright that “these surgeries make a lot of money.”

Trial of terrorist in Oslo: Islamist demands special treatment because of Ramadan

Screen grab youtube

In June 2022, an Iranian man shot into a gay bar in Oslo in cold blood. Two people died and 21 were injured. Now the trial against the assassin Zaniar Matapour (44) has started – and the Islamist is causing a stir on the very first day.
Matapour demanded that the judge interrupt the trial during Ramadan. “Ramadan is holy for us,” he said. “The courts also close during the Christian and Jewish holidays.” Judge Eirik Aas rejected the application. He saw no conflict between the Islamic holidays and the trial.
The defendant himself pleaded not guilty. Public prosecutor Sturla Henriksboe described the attack as a “cowardly act against innocent people”. Matapour faces life imprisonment if convicted.

The Islamist had pledged allegiance to ISIS before the attack. A Pakistani Islamist preacher who grew up in Norway is said to have been involved in the plotting of the attack. He was arrested in Pakistan in autumn 2022. It is not yet clear when his trial will start.

Princeton economist with a Nobel under his belt eats crow and does a U-turn on mass migration

Image: Holger Motzkau, CC BY-SA 3.0, via Wikimedia Commons, unaltered

By Olivia Murray

Just yesterday, Breitbart News reported on Angus Deaton’s epiphany regarding the mass invasion of illegal foreigners into the American interior; he finally realized that importing millions of freeloaders to our welfare state isn’t such a good thing for the working class taxpayers, or the economy. Deaton is a Princeton economist and a Nobel recipient, so cut him some slack, he’s a little slower than the rest of us—remember, “the road to Hell is paved with Ivy League degrees” and apparently, Nobel Prizes too.

Here’s what Deaton had to say, in an editorial titled “Rethinking My Economics” and published by the International Monetary Fund:

The [economics] profession knows and understands many things. Yet today we are in some disarray. We did not collectively predict the financial crisis and, worse still, we may have contributed to it through an overenthusiastic belief in the efficacy of markets, especially financial markets whose structure and implications we understood less well than we thought.

Like many others, I have recently found myself changing my mind, a discomfiting process for someone who has been a practicing economist for more than half a century.

After making a case for how “economists” really have no clue what they’re talking about—that much was obvious when Deaton included “Karl Marx” in a list of economists, and considering that a majority of them assert debt is nothing more than a number—Deaton arrived at several new (to him) realizations. Most importantly, Deaton did a U-turn on his previous support for the mass importation of third-world foreigners into the U.S. homeland:

I had … seriously underthought my ethical judgments about trade-offs between domestic and foreign workers. We certainly have a duty to aid those in distress, but we have additional obligations to our fellow citizens that we do not have to others.

I used to subscribe to the near consensus among economists that immigration to the US was a good thing, with great benefits to the migrants and little or no cost to domestic low-skilled workers. I no longer think so [emphasis added].

Maybe the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences ought to dole out another Nobel for his newfound and remarkable command of the obvious.

Deaton “seriously underthought” the ethical implications of a government stealing money from one person at the barrel of a gun, to hand it over to someone else who didn’t earn it? No kidding. How is this possible for such an “educated” guy? Those low wages for illegals are subsidized by my stolen wealth and your stolen wealth (food stamps, government health insurance, housing vouchers, public school, etc.), both through taxation and debt and devaluation. Better late than never… I guess?

Since Deaton is apparently behind the curve, a brief (and basic) economics lesson:

Importing tens of millions of third-world people with no skills and no money into a first world nation with an enshrined welfare state, does not benefit the people of that nation, as the latter are forced to foot the bill.

That’s it, class dismissed.
