German Leftist Newspaper Spied on Its Own Journalists

A media scandal is rocking the left-liberal German daily newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung (SZ) after it emerged that bosses spied on their own staff and reporters to find a “mole” who had leaked info about the plagiarism affair of the deputy editor of the paper.

Süddeutsche Zeitung is now accused of bigotry and double standards when it comes to ‘whistleblowers.’ NGO Reporters Without Borders criticized the paper’s management and wrote that the protection of confidential sources is in danger.

The scandal has put the reputation of SZ seriously at risk.

The affair started last December when specialist magazine Mediainsider revealed repeated instances of plagiarism by SZ deputy editor Alexandra Föderl-Schmidt. Mediainsider also reported criticism voiced at an internal conference of the paper. These reports greatly upset the paper’s bosses who then decided to hack and screen all email and phone contacts of their staff to find the leak.

At an internal meeting last week, editor-in-chief Wolfgang Krach raged about a “mole” or possibly several “moles.” He called it a “breach of confidence” that SZ reporters had talked to Mediainsider. It appears that the SZ management was unable to find the persons who had leaked the information.

Among the reporters, many seem to be shocked at the news about the spy campaign against their own employees. SZ has generally prided itself on being an investigative news outlet to expose corrupt practices. However, when the own deputy editor-in-chief was accused of plagiarism, they tried to cover up the affair and punish the whistleblowers. SZ had previously called for better legal protection of whistleblowers. Now, they are even accused of Stasi-like methods to spy on their own staff.

The Munich-based paper is normally one of the favorites of the left-liberal establishment in Germany and is known for investigative efforts mainly against the Right. In the last six months, it has launched several campaigns against conservative or right-wing politicians, most prominently against Bavarian minister of the economy Hubert Aiwanger and also against AfD co-leader Alice Weidel because of alleged plagiarism, which ultimately failed.

On Monday, it emerged that Föderl-Schmid will take a temporary leave, in effect resigning from her leadership role at SZ. Several media reported that a plagiarism hunter had detected numerous counts of plagiarism in her PhD dissertation.

Why Do Western Leaders Hate Their Citizens?

The actions of Western countries are self-destructive. The question is why.

In the past and partially to this day, countries acted in their best interests. When those interests collided with those of other countries, the solution could come either through diplomacy, war, or potentially some form of arbitration.

Let’s try an example. Imagine the US building a series of coal-fired power plants near the Canadian border. The addition of electrical capacity offers the US many advantages: cheaper electricity, electricity availability to more citizens, and greater national capacity for extreme weather conditions. Everything is going well until the US adds so many units that Canadians begin to suffer from pollution wafting from the new plants onto their territory. There are multiple potential solutions to the problem including but not limited to the US cleaning up smokestack exhausts, reducing the number of power plants, or paying Canada for damages. In any solution the US and Canada would both try to maximize their national interests. That was the way the world worked until about twenty or thirty years ago.

This simple example stands in stark contrast to the behavior of Western nations today. Whereas some of the worst actors in the world—think Russia, China, Iran—continue to focus on their national interests, Western countries have adopted international goals that often are at odds with the clear needs and interests of their own citizens. Have you noticed the tractor protests in Holland, Germany and France? Hundreds of tractors shut down major roads and commerce. The farmers in France have said that they wish to effectively starve Paris. Why?

In today’s iteration of international negotiations, countries like China and India continue to think of the benefits of their citizens, if only to guarantee the stability of their governments. These ostensibly developing countries refuse to commit themselves to any program that would reduce energy production or economic progress. They still think as rational countries have always thought: how can I maximize my interests? Their behavior, which one might call normal, stands in stark contrast to that of the Western powers. When they negotiate on climate and other issues, they often look from what they claim is a global perspective and thus often ignore or work against the clear interests of their own people. The tractor protests are a result of European governmental decisions to reduce the use of nitrogen fertilizers and/or significantly cut livestock numbers. The decisions themselves definitely act against the local population. Reduced synthetic fertilizers can only mean less crop production, higher food prices, and more unemployed farmers. Not one of these outcomes is beneficial to the local population. One only has to look at Sri Lanka and the famine and political unrest that occurred when they took this WEF-encouraged path of banning nitrogen fertilizers to see that the program is a disaster. If governments in Amsterdam, Berlin, and Paris can follow policies that harm the electorate that put them into office, what recourse do citizens have other than to protest and replace their leaders?

So why would wealthy countries who are ostensibly rational actors work so clearly against the interests of their own citizens? The simple answer is that many politicians in the West simply do not see their citizens—the ones who elected them and to whom they are politically responsible–as their primary concern. Those on the left in Europe and the US have become “international citizens” and their eyes are set on world problems, effectively ignoring the interests of their own people. Dutch citizens would normally expect their leaders to initiate policies that lead to the lowest food prices possible—this would make food more available to poorer constituents and leave more money for other uses. We in the US go to Walmart and Costco to make our dollars go as far as possible.

But when Dutch politicians ignore their people’s needs and think of the global warming canard, their focus is not cheaper and more plentiful food but rather less gas-generating livestock and significantly reduced nitrogen fertilizer use. Whereas in our example above, the US and Canada each thought of its own interests—US energy versus Canadian health—our current world order has China thinking about China and the US and Europe also thinking about China.

The leaders would argue that reducing greenhouse gases serves their countries by guaranteeing a safer future. But the argument is specious. Looking at the data and arguments, I think that the warming arguments are nonsense and that the whole movement is a scam. But even if one bought into the warming business, whatever Western countries do to make their lives more miserable (unreliable EV’s, no more gas stoves, no more meat, reduced air travel, etc.), the greenhouse gas production from China and India will outweigh whatever the West may succeed in reducing. This is not some localized phenomenon: Holland can destroy its farmers and reduce CO2 production, but the Chinese CO2 from increased coal use will more than make up for the difference on a global balance.

It is no coincidence that the Dutch elected Geert Wilders or that Donald Trump still remains extremely popular, pending lawsuits and all. Citizens in Western countries see their elected leaders not promoting the interests of their fellow Americans or Brits or French, but rather the supposed interests of some global community whose needs completely outweigh those of the national population to whom leaders are electorally responsible. The US should be pushing hydrocarbon production and distribution, as by doing so, energy becomes cheaper, leading to more commerce and more jobs in the sector.

But everything that the Biden administration does—from reducing available federal land for oil exploration, making permitting harder for pipelines, and weakening LNG exports—works against clear American interests in the name of pleasing some world climate god. And people are sick of it because clear national benefits are shoved aside for some hard-to-define world goals. Gas is over $7 in some places in California. Rational actors would say that cheaper gas makes for a stronger economy as people have more disposable income to spend on things other than energy.

In the old days, countries advanced their interests until those interests bumped up against those of another country. Negotiations or war generally solved the dilemma, but in all cases, countries looked out for themselves and not for somebody else. The endless damage to US interests—lost factories, an open border, anti-American energy policies—for the benefit of other countries or citizens has left people tired of always being last. It’s like giving your best food to your guests and leaving scraps for your own family. Western leaders either hate or are embarrassed by their countries’ economic and material successes and sabotage the same for amorphous international goals. All the while, China, Russia, India, and Iran continue to advance their interests without regard for all of the world’s mumbo jumbo about climate change.

Citizens throughout the West have taken notice that they always come in last. They will vote for the candidates who promote their interests and not those who are always thinking about somebody else’s interests.

Montana Family Reportedly Facing Imminent Arrest After “Transgender” Daughter Was Removed From Their Custody

The family at the center of a custody battle with Montana Child and Family Services over their 14-year-old “transgender” daughter is reportedly facing imminent arrest after speaking to media about their ordeal. Krista and Todd Kolstad had previously been ordered by a judge to remain silent on the case, but chose to speak out about their situation last week.

Reduxx was first to break the story after speaking to the Kolstads about their tragic situation on January 29. In the interview, the Kolstads revealed that their 14-year-old daughter, Jennifer*, had been removed from their custody after they declined to actively “affirm” her newfound gender identity. Montana Child and Family Services (CFS) argued to a court that it was in the child’s “therapeutic best interest” to have her gender identity “respected,” and a petition was presented for the child to be sent to a family member in Canada.

The removal was the culmination of a months-long battle between the Kolstads and CFS which started on August 18, 2023, after Jennifer claimed to a friend that she was suicidal and suffering from terminal cancer. The friend reported the claims to police, who reached out to the Kolstads to confirm that Jennifer was alright.

Later on that evening, a CFS case worker arrived at the Kolstad home for an inspection and private interview with Jennifer, at which point the child declared she had drank toilet bowl cleaner and overdosed on pain medication.

Though she showed no symptoms of illness and had no access to either substances, Jennifer was taken to the hospital on an emergency basis for bloodwork, which conclusively determined she had fabricated her claim of overdosing. She also does not have a medical history of cancer despite having claimed to her friend that she was terminal.

The Kolstads attempted to inform CFS that Jennifer had a tendency of attention-seeking behavior and fabricating wild claims, but throughout the incident, Jennifer’s “gender identity” was the main point of contention. The child told CFS she identified as a “boy” named Leo, and that her parents were abusive and not willing to facilitate her gender transition.

Jennifer spent two days in the hospital for suicide monitoring, at which point the Kolstads agreed with CFS that she would benefit from being sent to a residential treatment facility for counseling. While there were a number of Montana-based facilities floated as options, the possibility of Jennifer being sent to Wyoming was also mentioned as an unlikely alternative.

On August 22, the Kolstads were told that Jennifer was next in line for a bed in Billings. But, later on that same day, they received a call from the hospital informing them that she was instead being sent to an unnamed facility in Wyoming. Faced with a number of unanswered questions and a concern about Wyoming’s laws allowing children to transition, the Kolstads expressed a hesitancy to allow Jennifer to be sent across state lines.

Within 10 minutes of refusing to immediately sign paperwork releasing Jennifer to the facility, Montana Child and Family Services arrived at the Kolstad residence with police and served them with paperwork temporarily removing Jennifer from their custody.

Jennifer was eventually returned to Montana to enter a youth group home for additional counseling, but the Kolstad’s fight with CFS had only just begun.

Though initially told that Jennifer would be returned to their care after her time at the group home was finished, CFS petitioned the court to remove Jennifer from their custody completely and have her sent to her long-estranged biological mother in Canada.

“We were told that letting Jennifer transition and live as a boy was in her ‘therapeutic best interest’ and because we aren’t willing to follow that recommendation, the court gave CFS custody of Jennifer for six months,” Krista told Reduxx. “CFS is now going to place Jennifer in the care of her birth mother in Canada, who has never really been a part of her life. The judge said to us ‘you need to expect that reunification with your family may not be what you are expecting.’”

In response to the decision, the Kolstads released a video on social media pleading for help. The court demanded they remove it and issued a gag order restricting the Kolstads from speaking further on the case.

They voluntarily defied the order, re-uploaded the video, and spoke to press regardless out of concern over what was happening to their family. While a contempt of court hearing was set for January 29, the Kolstads had to file for a continuance in order to leave the state and attend to a severely ill family member in Ohio.

But the already-mind boggling story has only continued to grow in complexity after the Governor of Montana, Greg Gianforte, released a statement on X (formerly Twitter) siding with the decision of the state’s Child and Family Services.

While not directly accusing the Kolstads of abuse, Gianforte suggested that Jennifer was removed from the household for legitimate reasons.

While the CFS affidavit does extensively detail the child’s complaints of abuse for not being “affirmed” in her desire to live as a “boy,” the argument made by CFS that resulted in her being removed from her parent’s care was their hesitancy to immediately sign paperwork sending her to Wyoming.

Both the CFS affidavit and the accompanying report neglect to acknowledge that Jennifer had lied about having terminal cancer, drinking Clorox toilet cleaner, or overdosing on prescription medication — all statements that would lend weight to the parent’s initial warnings that Jennifer had a history of attention-seeking behavior.

All of the documents from CFS reviewed by Reduxx repeatedly state that the Kolstad’s reluctance to allow Jennifer to be transported to Wyoming on-demand was the sole reason for her removal from their custody.

The Montana Safety Assessment completed by CFS.

Previous accusations of household instability detailed in the CFS report from 2016 and 2017, both of which involved Todd’s ex-wife, were noted “unsubstantiated,” and there has never been any history of Todd nor Krista physically harming or otherwise neglecting any of their children’s care.

But despite the clear indications that the “abuse” in the Kolstad residence was limited to not affirming Jennifer’s “gender identity” and expressing a hesitancy to sign paperwork allowing Jennifer to go to Wyoming, a push to paint the Kolstad’s as legitimately abusive has begun in an apparent effort to justify CFS’s actions. Disturbingly, many of those pushes appear to originate directly from the Governor’s office.

Travis Hall, Governor Gianforte’s senior advisor, has shared two posts to his social media account in which it is implied that the Kolstads were severely abusing Jennifer.

In one post shared by Hall, a user claims that even children living in “absolute filth, meth labs, with both parents being dealers and addicts” were not taken away from their parents in the way Jennifer was, implying what was happening in the household was far worse.

Another post shared by Hall features a link to an article from TownHall reporter Stephen Brown which appears to have been created with the input of the Governor’s office. In the article, Brown refers to Jennifer with “they/them” pronouns, and runs defense for Gianforte’s suggestion that the Kolstads were abusing Jennifer and that CFS acted appropriately.

On X, an individual claiming to be a lawyer who works to “protect trans kids” in Montana has been spreading the false accusation that Todd Kolstad, Jennifer’s father, was “convicted” of domestic abuse. In actuality, documents reviewed by Reduxx demonstrate the charges, which were unrelated to Jennifer, were dropped in 2021. The Kolstads are currently engaged in a lawsuit against the Glasgow Police Department for their alleged mismanagement of that case, and the officer at the center of the suit is also being pursued by other Glasgow residents for similar acts of misconduct.

But while the Kolstads have experienced an outpouring of support on an international level after taking their story public, Governor Gianforte appears to be doubling down once again.

This time, the Kolstads have been made aware through their lawyer that they may be arrested when they return to Montana from Ohio where they are still caring for a sick relative.

“We were very concerned, but not surprised, to learn from a credible source that the Governor of Montana plans to arrest us the moment we step foot back in Montana. We are also told that he has tasked his senior adviser and director of strategic communications to use the media to punish us for speaking out about the state’s medical kidnapping of our daughter,” Krista Kolstad said to Reduxx in an exclusive statement.

“It was an abuse of power for the state to revoke custody of our daughter because we wouldn’t affirm her ‘gender identity.’ It is an abuse of power to use tax-dollars to smear us as negligent in the press despite records that prove we have always proactively sought care for our daughter’s ongoing, unrelated mental health issues. We have also followed medical recommendations pertaining to these issues since she has been in state custody. The only thing we ever objected to is ‘transitioning’ our daughter.”

Krista continued: “Any accusation that she was taken from our home due to abuse or neglect secondary to this issue is a bald-faced lie with political foundations. Our daughter is not a political pawn. She is a child and she should be with her family – not the state. We are never going to stop fighting for our daughter.”

Since receiving the news of their possible arrest, the Kolstads have no plan to return to Montana at this time.

Mattie Watkins, the family’s media representative reiterated Krista’s sentiments, and slammed Gianforte’s office for participating in the “smear” campaign against the Kolstads.

“We anticipated Governor Gianforte’s next move would be to smear US Air Force veteran, Todd Kolstad and his wife, Krista, as abusive parents. It’s clear that his top priority is his political reputation – not the child at the center of this increasingly political fight,” Watkins said.

“Surely to defame parents as abusive, to take away their child, requires some standard of evidence. If not, where does this stop? Which family, in which state, is next? In my opinion, Gianforte is giving state agents a manual on how to sever the parent-child relationship and bypass all levels of law and government in order to put any minor they like on the affirmation to lifelong medicalization pipeline. Our children are not safe in government care.”

*The child’s name has been changed at the request of her parents.

Plant-based meats aren’t selling, so companies adjust fire and try a new strategy: real meat

Image: Public domain.

By Olivia Murray

As if you needed any more evidence that the “climate emergency” narrative is nothing more than a profit-driven and anti-human agenda, here you go, from a report by the “Climate Solutions” department of The Washington Post today: “As the plant-based meat market cools, some start-ups turn to a new ingredient: Actual meat[.]” From the article:

Plant-based meats — think the Impossible Burger or Quorn ‘chicken’ nuggets — are generally filled with a long list of strange-sounding ingredients: pea protein, potato starch, coconut oil, mycoproteins and more. Those ingredients have turned off some consumers and sparked concerns about the highly processed nature of the average veggie burger or faux slice of bacon.

But now, a few start-ups are planning on adding one more component to the mix: animal fat. Some companies are growing fat in laboratories, hoping to combine it with wheat protein and spices to make an extra porky form of plant-based bacon. Others are pulling animal byproducts from traditional meat production and blending it with plant ingredients to create pieces of shredded steak.

According to authors Shannon Osaka and Charlotte Lytton, “plant-based meats looked poised to take over the world” but now, the companies behind the industry, once “darlings” of Wall Street, are plummeting in value; Osaka and Lytton offered two reasons for the downward trend, both of which were rather duplicitous.

(Oh, sales are declining? Well then screw the “climate emergency” and the consequences, these corporations have to hit their numbers, even if that means doing the exact opposite of what they claimed to believe!)

First, as you read above, “some” consumers—and what they really mean are anti-progressive conservative consumers—are “turned off” by “strange-sounding ingredients” like potato starch and coconut oil. Give me a break. As someone who has never, and will never touch a plant-based “meat” product, what turns me off are the ingredients the authors failed to list; in the news item they reference Beyond Meat products, so let’s take a look:

Water, pea protein*, expeller-pressed canola oil, refined coconut oil, rice protein, natural flavors, dried yeast, cocoa butter, methylcellulose, and less than 1% of potato starch, salt, potassium chloride, beet juice color, apple extract, pomegranate concentrate, sunflower lecithin, vinegar, lemon juice concentrate, vitamins and minerals (zinc sulfate, niacinamide [vitamin B3], pyridoxine hydrochloride [vitamin B6], cyanocobalamin [vitamin B12], calcium pantothenate).

Highly-inflammatory and rancid engine lubricant peddled by Agenda 2030-aligned corporations? Hard pass.

“Natural flavors” as in cricket or mealworm powder? Absolutely not. (When an openly-left corporation that lives out the values of the World Economic Forum is oddly vague, it’s a major red flag.)

Methylcellulose? A synthetic compound created after applying a chemical agent to natural cellulose? No thanks.

Pyridoxine hydrochloride? The synthetic form of B6, which comes from petroleum ether and formaldehyde—petroleum ether isn’t actually an ether, it’s just been “lumped in” with the others because of its volatility and flammable properties. (How’s that for a “green” agenda? Using oil-based products to make food?)  The counterfeit B6 may also lead to sensory issues and neurological damage, and “has been shown to actually inhibit the action of natural B6 in the body.” I prefer to get my B6 the old-fashioned way via God’s creation, thank you very much!

Secondly though, Osaka and Lytton, without any explanation, suggest that the first year of the “coronavirus pandemic” had something to do with tanking sales, so allow me to fill in the gap: 2020 was a year of awakening, with more people waking up each subsequent year, and that’s why the fake meat industry is imploding. People are seeing through Big Pharma, Big Food, and Big Government like never before, and God bless them for it.

France: A young man who converted to Islam a month ago was arrested after threatening passers-by with a knife

Panic broke out in the streets of Draveil in the Essonne department on Sunday morning. A 22-year-old man, who had converted to Islam just a month ago, panicked passers-by before being arrested by the police. The man had threatened at least two people with a knife, a so-called Opinel, as CNEWS learnt from police sources, confirming a report by Europe 1.

The police intervened quickly thanks to the victims’ statements and a photo provided by a witness, the media reported. This photo was a crucial element in identifying and locating the suspect.

The first victim was targeted on his way home. The attacker, who was armed with a knife, confronted the woman in the middle of the street and mentioned that she had recently converted to Islam. The man then approached other people and demanded money under the pretence of his Muslim faith.

A search was immediately carried out at the home of the person’s aunt. The authorities discovered that the man was suffering from a mental disorder, which may have contributed to his conspicuous behaviour. cnews

Germany Finds Increasing Levels of Long-Banned Substance in Humans, Including Children

Wikimedia Commons , Rjh, PD chem

Germany’s Federal Environment Agency (UBA) is sounding the alarm after finding high levels in humans of a banned plasticiser—a chemical added to a material to make it more flexible and less brittle. The presence of the harmful substance, linked to male infertility and higher risks of diabetes and obesity, was discovered as part of the ongoing 6th German environmental study on health.

UBA toxicologist Marika Kolossa said to Die Welt that the metabolite MnHexP had been found in 28 percent of urine samples so far.

A breakdown product of the plasticizer di-n-hexyl phthalate (DnHexP), MnHexP, has been strictly regulated since 2013 and is largely prohibited in the European Union. It was first discovered in humans in 2023.

“Such a substance should not be found in the body—and we find it,” said Kolossa. “It is a major problem,” Kolossa said now.

The origin of the plasticizer is so far unknown. The results that have been made public come from an investigation into samples in North Rhine-Westphalia.

“This is a real detective story. We are now undertaking a full investigation in Germany,”   Kolossa said.

The German agency also works closely with EU authorities.

Kolossa explained that in animal experiments, the metabolite was shown to be harmful to reproduction. It mainly affects the reproductive organs of male fetuses in the womb, but animal experiments also showed that in adults, it can increase the risk for diabetes, hypertension, and obesity. Concentrations have been discovered in individual people “which are so high that a health risk cannot be ruled out,” Kolossa added.

Chemical expert Lars Tietjen from UBA said that though DnHexP has been almost completely banned in the EU for years, the substance could still be found in the EU through imported products and in old products produced in the EU.

“I do not have any information about larger processed quantities, but it cannot be ruled out,” he also warned.

As part of the ongoing investigation in North Rhine-Westphalia experts from the State Office for Nature, Environment and Consumer Protection ( Lanuv ) retrospectively examined old urine samples from kindergarten children. They found that, between 2017 and 2021, the proportion of samples contaminated with MnHeP increased from 26% to 61%. Lanuv said in a statement that the reason for this is completely unclear.

According to Lanuv, the plasticizer DnHexP has been listed as a substance of very high concern in the European Union since 2013. It is no longer permitted as an ingredient in cosmetic products, food contact materials, or toys.

While the birth rate in Europe has dropped significantly since the 1960s, it is unclear what role undesired infertility plays. French President Emmanuel Macron in a speech recently stated that one in four French couples today who want children are unable to conceive.

A 1992 meta-analysis (evaluating earlier studies) found significant declines in sperm count in the United States, Europe, and Australia, over the past 50 years, but no such decline in non-Western countries.

More recently, a 2017 meta-analysis found an overall 32.5% decrease in mean sperm concentration, and said that while “environmental or lifestyle factors, such as occupational and environmental exposures, medications and sexually transmitted diseases” could have an impact,

the proper causes and their correlation with declining sperm concentration in European population in the past 50 years still remain to be elucidated.

A Jewish student ended up in the hospital after he was beaten by a fellow student over a dispute about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the Mitte borough of Berlin on Friday night, Berlin Police said on Saturday.

The Jewish student was walking with an acquaintance when they met a fellow student and a dispute developed between the two, as the Jewish student is pro-Israel and the other student is pro-Palestinian.

During the argument, the other student suddenly hit the Jewish student several times in the face, causing him to fall. He then kicked the Jewish student who was lying on the ground and fled the scene.

The Jewish student was evacuated to the hospital while suffering from fractures

The student suspected of beating up the Jewish student was located by police at his home in Schöneberg. During a court-ordered search of his home, emergency services confiscated evidence, including the student’s smartphone.

The investigation is ongoing and has been taken over by a commissioner from the state security police of the State Criminal Police Office.

Noam Petri, vice president of the Jewish Student Union of Germany, expressed outrage at the attack in a post on X, writing that the students were both from the Freie Universität Berlin.Advertisement

“Enough, @FU_Berlin!” wrote Petri. “To this day, antisemitic groups spread their hatred. To date, no restraining order has been issued. We continue to fight.
