Mass immigration to Germany will cost taxpayers up to €19.2 trillion, warns top academic expert

Mass immigration may cost Germany up to €19.2 trillion, and has already cost the country €5.8 trillion, according to a top German academic on public finances, Prof. Bernd Raffelhüschen, of the University of Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg.

Often referred to as the “pension pope,” Prof. Raffelhüschen’s study blows a hole in the narrative promoted by pro-migration parties and business leaders, who claim that mass immigration will save Germany’s public finances and the job market.

“Immigration as it has been happening so far is costing us €5.8 trillion overall economically,” writes the professor in a new study.

However, unlike some other economists who say that Germany is being harmed financially via unskilled labor and needs more skilled labor, Raffelhüschen also says that importing skilled labor will actually cost the German tax and pension system more than entirely shutting the borders to any immigration.

The large debt figures provided by Raffelhüschen may not be so far off the mark, at least when compared to other countries. As Remix News previously reported, several top Dutch professors recently released a study detailing how migrants have cost the Netherlands a minimum of €400 billion since 1995, and the Netherlands has accepted far fewer migrants than Germany. In Norway, researchers found that only half of migrants are employed despite the state spending €6.6 billion on workforce integration projects over the course of 10 years.

Prof. Raffelhüschen shows in his study that due to Germany’s rapidly aging society, there is a “huge gap between what businesses and employees pay into the German tax and social system,” which includes taxes, daycare, pensions, and health insurance, and what they can demand in the future in terms of pension, health care, and social welfare.

This “sustainability gap” will grow to a massive €19.2 trillion if Germany continues to allow 300,000 foreigners into the country every year, according to the professor. As he notes in his study, the integration process takes an extremely long time for most foreigners, and during this time they have little income — and often no income — and therefore there is a substantial lag regarding their contributions into the social system. Even for those who do become employed, they often feature far lower income levels, often to the point that they still qualify for welfare, which results in a tremendous burden on Germany’s ample social welfare system.

A fence around Germany

Raffelhüschen also explained what would happen to Germany if the country theoretically “put a fence around Germany from now,” which would mean zero immigrants coming in.

Under such a scenario, it would close the future financial gap from €19.2 trillion down to €13.4 trillion, which would be €5.8 trillion lower.

“That is the price of immigration in our current system,” said the social expert.

Raffelhüschen breaks down how he comes to his conclusions, writing that on average, migrants require six years to integrate and join the German labor market and contribute very little to the pension system during that time — or nothing at all.

Even after entering the job market, if they do at all, they earn less and therefore contribute very little to the social system.

However, these foreigners also enter the statutory health insurance system, where they receive the same benefits as Germans who have sometimes been paying into the system for decades.

The professor offers an example: “An asylum seeker comes to Germany at the age of 26, is rejected after two to three years, but remains here with tolerance. Then he gradually begins his first job, gets qualified and, at the age of 35, begins a career as a tax and contribution payer. Because his pension entitlement is low, he receives basic security as a pensioner — for which his contributions would never have been enough.”

He notes that “it is not worth it. It’s all far too expensive.”

Skilled labor will not save Germany’s pension system

The professor goes further, calculating what would happen if Germany accepts 100,000 highly skilled foreigners on top of the current 300,000 migrants per year, which would cost the German social system €14.2 trillion a year. However, this actually would still cost more than accepting a system with no immigration, where the “sustainability gap” would only amount to €13.4 trillion.

Raffelhüschen says, “If we carry on as before, we’d be dumb as a rock. Although the age structure of migrants potentially has a demographic rejuvenation dividend, this does not lead to a positive fiscal balance of migration in any of the scenarios considered.”

He argues that Germans need to work longer and have fewer pension benefits, that only legal residents should not have access to the social and pension systems, and that contributions need to increase.

Anti-white and woke agenda gets a vernacular rebrand in the corporate world

I first became aware of this about three weeks ago—I was in T.J. Maxx, looking for a baby shower gift, and found diapers for “melanated” babies. I assumed “melanated” meant black, but since the packaging emphasized that what made this product “unique” was the addition of shea butter to the diaper lining, I didn’t really think much of it, and chalked it up to a marketing ploy—all babies, regardless of color, can benefit from skin-softening natural products.

But then yesterday, I came across this post, shared to social media by Frank McCormick of Chalkboard Heresy:

The products come from “Melanin Edition” which is a “Black owned apparel company that offers officially licensed Jeep® merchandise.” Now, this is not to imply whatsoever that the owner of Melanin Edition is anti-white—she’s a Chicago girl and for all I know, she could be one of the many anti-woke black Chicagoans—but the same can’t be said of the diaper company, Proudly™, and JeepⓇ.

Proudly™ is actually a creation of former NBA player Dwyane Wade and his Hollywood wife Gabrielle Union. Wade has made trans-ing his minor son a major public platform (against the wishes of the boy’s mother), while Union is an outspoken pro-abortion activist who last year launched a tirade against “fascist” Bill Lee, the Tennessee governor who signed a bill banning sexual mutilation of sex-dysphoric minors; both Wade and Union are known for promoting DIE efforts à la Marxian black supremacy.

As for JeepⓇ, the brand’s parent company is Dutch conglomerate Stellantis; from a New York Post report detailing the corporation’s priorities:

The big three auto giants — General Motors, Ford, and Stellantis — spent millions on salaries for dozens of white-collar DEI specialists, a review of LinkedIn profiles by The Post shows.

Now there seems to be some confusion, because we white people have melanin too, but that’s beside the point; after tremendous blowback, the anti-white DIE agenda has regrouped, and is now flying comfortably under the radar with the “melanated” tag.

Tunisian asylum seekers terrorise residents in Regensburg, Germany: robberies, drugs, rapes

Wikimedia Commons , Doktent, : CC-BY-SA-4.0

The situation in Regensburg is becoming increasingly unbearable. The mostly Tunisian residents of an asylum centre are spreading fear and terror. Robberies, drugs and, most recently, a rape have led to the situation getting out of hand. A CSU member of parliament from Regensburg wrote an angry letter to Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (SPD).
The East Bavarian city of Regensburg with its almost 160,000 inhabitants is actually an idyllic place, not least thanks to its preserved medieval centre. But parents here live in growing fear for their children. A few days ago, a young woman (29) was raped. The police have now arrested two Tunisian suspects. Both are in their early 20s and are in custody.

The tragic incident did not come out of the blue.

On New Year’s Eve, Tunisians went on the rampage in the historic city centre and sexually assaulted a woman (33). A headmaster’s warning to parents has now made headlines: “Your daughters should ideally walk to school in groups”.
The city has now removed the park benches between a girls’ school and the main railway station. This had become a hotspot for migrants who harassed women. “We go for a walk in the park every day, and for a good six months now we’ve been hearing more people talking in foreign languages,” retired pastor Erhard Schmidt told Bild. “You could see the young migrants trying to sell drugs or burying them in the ground.”
The police confirmed such statements. Tunisians in particular were among the suspects. “The figures for 2023 in the station area will exceed the figures from previous years,” a police spokeswoman told Bild.

Meanwhile, anger against the interior minister is growing. Since last summer, an increasing number of asylum seekers from Tunisia have been accommodated in the asylum centre near the train station – coordinated by the Federal Ministry of the Interior.

Regensburg CSU member of parliament Peter Aumer has published an urgent letter to Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (SPD). In it, he invites her to Regensburg. He wants her to “get a picture of the situation herself in talks with the authorities and those affected”. He had already contacted the SPD politician in December, but only received a reply from her state secretary.
The CSU politician says that “turbo procedures are needed for foreign offenders”. Faster procedures are needed for asylum seekers from the Maghreb states of Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco and Western Sahara. Tunisia should also be recognised as a safe country of origin.
In addition, migrant robberies at Edeka supermarkets are on the rise – as reported by eXXpress. In December, the call for help from store manager Konstantin Gatzke (48) made headlines: “Every day, men dressed in black come to us, all from the asylum centres in Regensburg. They fill their rucksacks and bags and leave through the entrance without paying!” He was then attacked by left-wing extremists who accused him of inciting hatred against refugees.

But the facts cannot be denied. Head of business unit Ferat Nuha (36), who comes from Kosovo himself, told Bild: “We have thefts almost every day. Around 80 per cent of them are committed by foreigners. It’s been particularly bad since summer 2023. Suddenly, it’s mainly Tunisians who have been conspicuous here, as if someone had dropped them off in large numbers. They are disrespectful, insult us and attack the staff.” Migrants also regularly come in and out of a shop at the main railway station, it is reported – without paying.

Muslim terrorist who killed three people allowed to stay in Britain after series of ‘woeful’ errors

A terrorist who murdered three people was allowed to stay in the country after a series of “woeful” Home Office errors.

Khairi Saadallah murdered James Furlong, 36, Joseph Ritchie-Bennett, 39, and David Wails, 49, in Forbury Gardens, Reading, on Saturday June 20, 2020.

Now, an inquest has heard how Saadallah had wrongly been granted five years’ humanitarian leave to remain by the Home Office.

The department made a series of “woeful” errors in handling the case, which included allowing him to stay in the country even though he had served five prison sentences for violent offences.

At the inquest, director of the Foreign National Offender Returns Command Jane Sutton said: “There are a number of errors made throughout the entirety of [Saadallah’s] engagement with the Home Office and immigration department and, at times, the quality of our work and interaction with him fell below the quality and standards that would have been expected.”

When asked by Nicholas Moss KC: “Did it fall below by quite some margin on more than one occasion?” Sutton responded: “Yes.”

The inquest was told that the Home Office had no record of Saadallah’s arrival in Britain on a multiple-entry tourist visa with his father in March 2012 and again in September 2012, reports The Times.

The department also had no record of his failure to depart by the visa expiry date on September 28 before he claimed asylum on October 16.

Six years later, Saadallah was still in the country. This is despite exhausting all his appeals, after launching a new legal challenge to his deportation.

He argued that Libya had become unsafe in the meantime due to a new round of conflict in the country. He was eventually granted five years’ leave to remain on a humanitarian protection basis and withdrew his legal appeal.

Saadallah admitted being a member of Ansar al-Sharia in Libya, a group which has been linked to Isis, during the uprising against Colonel Gaddafi in 2011, the year before he arrived in Britain and claimed asylum.

He was jailed five times for a string of violent offences and repeatedly referred to a mental health crisis team each time he was released.

Saadallah was also paid compensation due to the fact that there had been a delay in issuing him with a biometric card to allow him to claim benefits.

The family of Ritchie-Bennett, an American pharmaceutical worker, paid tribute to him at the inquest.

His brother said: “He was lovable, he was funny and he was hilarious at times. He was the definition of the world ambassador. We have missed you every day of our lives since June 20, 2020 and we always will … it’s as if our family is just frozen in time.”

The inquest continues.

US President Joe Biden says he recently met French President Mitterrand who has been dead since 1996, raises further questions on Biden’s mental health

US President Joe Biden made an embarrassing faux pas on Sunday (4th February) after he claimed to have met deceased French President Francois Mitterrand during a G7 summit.

Although Mitterrand passed away in 1996, Joe Biden stated that he met him during a meeting with world leaders in 2021. He made the outrageous claims during his campaign speech in Las Vegas.

The 81-year-old President, whose mental health remains a ‘global concern’, had said, “It was in the south of England. And I sat down and I said, ‘America is back,’ and Mitterrand from Germany, I mean from France, looked at me and said – said, ‘you know what — why — how long you back for?’”

“And I looked at him, and the — and the chancellor of Germany said, ‘What would you say Mr. President, if you picked up the paper tomorrow in the London Times and the London Times said, ‘A thousand people break through the House of Commons, break down the doors, two Bobbies are killed in order to stop the election of a prime minister. What would you say?” he continued his gibberish.

It appears as if Joe Biden confused incumbent French President Emmanuel Macron, whom he met during the G7 summit of 2021, with deceased President Francois Mitterrand. In the White House transcript of Biden’s speech, the name of the French President is mentioned as Macron.

It must be mentioned that Mitterrand served as president of France between 1981 and 1995. He passed away at the age of 79 on 8th January 1996. This seems to be the latest faux pas by Joe Biden, who has a history of such verbal blunders.

Chora Church: Another Byzantine church in Istanbul is being converted into a mosque

According to the Yeni Şafak newspaper, on February 23, the Chora Church will open its gates as a mosque for Friday prayers.

After Hagia Sophia, another Byzantine (Eastern Roman) church in Istanbul, which functioned as a museum for 79 years, was converted into a mosque.

According to the Yeni Şafak newspaper, on February 23, the Chora Monastery will open its gates as a mosque for Friday prayers.

Chora Church Istanbul

In 2020, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, together with Hagia Sophia, took the relevant decision to convert the museum of Chora Church into a mosque. And while preparations had been made for October 2020, the decision to do some restoration works was suddenly frozen.

Turkish newspaper Yeni Şafak reports that the long-term restoration of the “Kariye Camii” has ended. Specially designed carpets were laid for the conversion works.

“The historic mosque, furnished with specially designed red carpets, is scheduled to open for worship on Friday, February 23. On the other hand, it became known that the mosaics and frescoes in the historic mosque were preserved during the restoration and will be open to visitors,” the newspaper wrote.

The Chora Church is located on the northwest side of the historical centre of Istanbul and a short distance from the Byzantine-era Adrianople Gate. It owes its name to identifying the mosaics of Christ as the “Land of the Living” and of Panagia as the “Land of the Displaced” in its interior.

It was founded in the 6th century from the old monastic complex. In the 12th century, the church was built, while at the beginning of the 14th century, it received a radical renovation.

Some of the best examples of Byzantine art mosaics are preserved to this day in the Monastery of Chora.

It is a famous for its architecture and its elaborate decoration was crafted during the Paleologos era. After the Fall of Constantinople, it functioned as an Orthodox Church but was converted into a mosque after a few decades.

After the end of the Second World War, the building was repaired, and since then, it has functioned as a museum.

The walls and the dome of the catholicon were decorated with exquisitely crafted mosaics and frescoes depicting scenes from the life of Christ and the Virgin.

The EU’s ‘hate speech’ laws are an attack on free speech itself: This year’s European elections may be the last chance to defend our rights

Nosta Lgia

After last November’s attack on a Dublin Catholic school, graffiti reading “Irish lives matter” appeared on the Falls Road in West Belfast. It is a location that is no stranger to wall sloganeering, although most of it is of the “Brits Out” variety. (Indeed, the meaning of “Irish lives matter” is ambiguous).

This one particular daub was singled out by local Police as a “hate speech incident”.

This decision, attracting criticism from conservative media, actually foreshadowed alarming developments. The writing is now on the wall for everyone in the EU.

Last month the European Parliament passed a report calling on the Council to include hate speech and hate crime among so-called “Euro crimes”.

In other words, offensive speech may soon be established as a criminal offence, which all member states must integrate into their own legal systems. However, no clear threshold has been set for what makes speech prosecutable.

According to Maite Pagazaurtundúa of Renew Europe, rapporteur for the report and Member of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs, “we must protect people who are attacked, persecuted and harassed … always in accordance with the principle of proportionality and guaranteeing freedom of expression for citizens”.

This sounds nice, but it is also dangerously vague.

The Parliament’s report comes as part of a process started by the Commission in 2020. In her inaugural speech, Ursula von der Leyen had stressed the need “to extend the list of EU crimes to all forms of hate crime and hate speech – whether because of race, religion, gender or sexuality”.

This is yet another example of decisions that are being imposed on Europeans top-down.

One needs to define what hate is – and the Parliament does not. On the contrary, its report calls for an “open-ended” approach to what constitutes discrimination. In the words of Pagazaurtundúa, “we are facing social dynamics, through which the normalisation of hate evolves very quickly”.

All this is in tune with the woke agenda. For many liberals taking offence has become something of a raison d’être. “Snowflakes” of all denominations have long been elevating their owndelicate feelings to a universal standard. But until now, not complying with their demands has been legal. In the near future, this may change.

So, will henceforth every instance when somebody feels offended or upset constitute a crime? Is there no distinction between speech and physical violence anymore? Importantly, the Parliament’s report does not set instigation to violence as a prerequisite for hate speech. Rather, it only refers to violations of “human dignity”. This illiberal slope is more than slippery.

Would quoting from St. Paul’s 1 Corinthians, where homosexuality is clearly condemned, be banned because it violates somebody’s “dignity”? Would stating that there are only two genders become criminalised? Would saying that Europe should remain a predominantly Christian continent break the law? The questions are not rhetoric.

At the same time, “human dignity” of majority groups is not expected to be protected by the new laws. We see that happening already. To offend a churchgoer is OK. To be Rüde about straight people is fine. To attack ethnic Europeans is alright. It is in regard to minorities alone that the Orwellian EU superstate is so super-sensitive.

Not only do EU ruling elites decide on restructuring society as we know it in a non-democratic and authoritarian manner, but they also plan to criminalise any reaction to their decisions. Whoever vocally opposes mass migration and the LGBTQ agenda may soon be answerable to the authorities.

The coming European Elections are crucial. If freedom of expression is not guaranteed, then democracy in the EU will only become more difficult to maintain. Those whose aim is to restrict liberty in the name of progress, can only be stopped at the ballot – at least for as long as people have a say.
