Spanish Anthropology Professor Forced To Teach With Security Detail After Threats From Trans Activist Student Group

A student organization at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) is calling for the expulsion of a prominent professor of Social Anthropology, alleging she was “transphobic.” The Socialist Youth Organization, also known as OJS, is demanding the termination of Dr. Silvia Carrasco, after she gave a talk discussing the necessity of biological sex classifications in anthropology at the beginning of the semester.

On February 12, the OJS released a video on social media titled “let’s organize against transphobia.” In it, a female student read a speech targeting Carrasco and slamming the university for allowing “untouchable academic freedom” on sensitive subjects.

“Today, classes return to the UAB campus, ideological control returns, reactionary and transphobic speeches return to our classrooms,” she said. “Under the banner of untouchable academic freedom, they allow professors to impart content under ideological and scientific criteria, turning the classroom into a space for the production and legitimization of reactionary and… transphobic speeches… typical of social democratic politics, narratives that try to explain gender oppression from a sexual essentialism from biologist positions.”

The next day, next to the door of the classroom where Carrasco teaches, a number of posters appeared highlighting some of Carrasco’s social media posts in which she expressed criticism of transgender ideology and Spain’s “Trans Law,” which was enacted earlier last year and made it substantially easier for males to change their legal gender and name.

Over the print-outs, the OJS scribbled “alerta tránsfoba,” or “transphobic alert.”

Graffiti with the message “transphobic alert” also appeared in several places in the faculty and in the corridor of the Department of Social Anthropology and Culture the same day. Leaflets and flyers were also distributed by the OJS, appearing on desks throughout the campus.

On February 19, the Executive Committee of the Anthropology Department issued a statement firmly condemning any acts to “intimidate” teachers into silence.

“The Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology of the Autonomous University of Barcelona wants to express that actions that attempt to intimidate or boycott the teaching and research staff have no place in a democratic academic institution,” the statement, translated by Reduxx, read. “The plurality of opinions and theoretical orientations are essential to debate and advance in the production of anthropological knowledge, and that begins with the respect and recognition of the academic value of all the teaching staff.”

But the situation continued to escalate as the Socialist Youth Organization demanded “the immediate expulsion” of Carrasco and any of her “openly transphobic department colleagues.” The statement was published to social media in the form of a short video in which a female student read the demands out.

The next day, the students held an assembly right after Carrasco’s class, with the aim of “organizing the response to transphobia.”

But unwilling to be intimidated, Carrasco appeared on a television program that same night to discuss a local piece of draft legislation aimed at easing the process for gender changes. It was one of the first times that a voice critical of trans ideology appeared on national television to condemn efforts to erase biological sex, and clips from the program went viral on Spanish social media.

While the University Rector arranged a security team so that Carrasco could teach her March 5 class safely, Carrasco took extra measures and reported the Socialist Youth Organization to the local police in an effort to have their intimidation campaign documented.

Carrasco’s recent issues with trans activists started last year after she was invited to speak on a panel titled “Let’s Talk About Sex Baby: Why Biological Sex Remains a Necessary Analytical Category in Anthropology.” The panel was set to take place during the 2023 Annual Congress of the American Anthropological Association (AAA), featuring 5 female anthropologists critical of gender ideology.

But the panel was canceled at the last minute, with the AAA stating that they had “reached a decision to remove the session from the AAA/CASCA 2023 conference program” based on an evaluation that the “ideas presented could be harmful to trans and LGBTQI members of the anthropological community, as well as to the community at large.”

Three days later, the AAA published a notice on their official website that there was “no place for transphobia in Anthropology.”

Speaking to Reduxx, Carrasco said that there were “dozens of cases” of female teachers, both in University and schools, who have to self-censor due to the intimidation of trans activists.

“They are suffering because they see how transgenderism is entering education, using queer propaganda as a supposed update of the teaching staff in gender perspective,” she explains. “The Equality Units are acting as thought police, introducing what they call ‘gender perspective,’ which is nothing more than queer ideology, in the whole university.”

Along with Ana Hidalgo, Araceli Muñoz, and Marina Pibernat, Carrasco is an author of the book “La Coeducación Secuestrada,” translated as “The Hijacked Coeducation,” which presents a feminist critique of transgender ideas in education.

Carrasco tells Reduxx that she and the other authors of the book didn’t even consider proposing their research findings to their universities, because they knew it would be boycotted.

There have been multiple incidents in Spain of academics being targeted by trans activist groups in recent years.

As previously reported by Reduxx, University of Palma professors José Errasti and Marino Pérez, authors of Nobody is Born in the Wrong Body: The Success and Misery of Gender Identity, were forced to cancel a conference appearance after the venue received credible threats of violence.

And while Carrasco’s university is standing firm in their support of her freedom of speech, at least in private, other instructors have not been so lucky.

The University of Granada did not renew the contract of Tasia Aránguez, a professor of the Philosophy of Law, after she expressed criticism of gender ideology. The University of Valencia similarly dismissed Amparo Mañés as Head of Equality after stating that women “are human females.”

The suspects post “cool” videos on Instagram and TikTok. They smirk in photos of football clubs – and they see women as commodities to be used and passed on. For months, they raped a Viennese girl (12) in gang rapes by up to eight perpetrators – sometimes in a car park, other times in a flat, and also in a stairwell. Their serial abuse also took place in public places. They also made mobile phone videos of their gang rapes and used them to blackmail the schoolgirl, reports the ” newspaper Kronen Zeitung”.

Now they are facing “only” five years in prison instead of ten because they are subject to juvenile criminal law.

The schoolgirl’s ordeal began the previous year. It all began with a youthful love affair at the beginning of 2023, but the romance turned into a nightmare. The boyfriend pressurises the girl and forces her to perform sexual acts. But things get even worse. The lover also has friends with whom he shares an archaic view of women. The girl is passed around among the friends like a commodity or a trophy. The schoolgirl was subjected to sexual abuse for months. Several gang rapes are said to have taken place, involving up to eight perpetrators.

It was a nightmare of sexual violence and blackmail, as the perpetrators were also recording it on smartphones. Months were to pass before the victim finally dared to confide in her mother.

The suspects deny guilt, speak of consensual sex and, moreover, the girl had given her age as 14. After being questioned, they were released and charged. The Vienna public prosecutor’s office is now in charge.

It was only more than two years ago that the death of Leonie (13) shocked the whole of Austria. Three Afghans aged between 19 and 23 had mixed at least six ecstasy tablets into the girl’s drink the previous evening and then raped their defenceless victim.

Can Mercedez-Benz buck the greenies’ electric vehicle craze?

The conjecture-refutation model (CRM) says that a scientific theory T should be abandoned if

CRM1. T is inconsistent with facts determined by experiments conducted under laboratory-controlled conditions, or

CRM2. Predictions T made are inconsistent with facts determined by observations made by competent and impartial observers.

The “should” may sound as though CRM is merely a recommendation — that application to a specific scientific theory is at the discretion of the scientist who proposed T.  This is not the case.  An elementary rule of logic, modus tollens, applies.

  • A proposition P is false if it implies a proposition Q that, one way or another, has been proven false.

The same rule says that the following are to be dropped:

  • AGW and related claims, whose predictions have been proven wrong time and again.
  • Measures taken by government and industry (pushed by government) to deal with problems alleged to follow if nothing is done to deal with an “existential threat.”
  • Forced administration of vaccines (boosters, etc.) claimed to be effective against COVID; likewise, enforcing ineffective measures such as masks and social distancing.
  • Punitive action against medical professionals objecting to COVID vaccination.
  • False claims that alternative COVID treatments, using, for example, hydroxychloroquine, are ineffective.

CRM has application beyond the exacting contexts of science.  Thus, in economics, CRM says that a decision D to produce C should be abandoned if

CRM3. Predictions regarding basic economic variables such as consumer preferences and market conditions made by D with respect to C fail to materialize.

CRM3 explains what happened to Ford’s Edsel back in 1960.  It also explains what happened recently at elite automaker Mercedes-Benz (MB).  Breitbart reports:

It was just three years ago when the German luxury vehicle manufacturer announced that it would go “all-electric,” the Verge reported at the time.

The company said it would commit $47 billion to electrifying its fleet, with CEO and board chair Ola Källenius saying, “We are convinced, we can do it with strong profitability, and we believe that focus on electrical is the right way to build a successful future and to enhance the value of Mercedes Benz.”.

Those plans were scrapped this week in the company’s fourth quarter earnings statement:

“Customers and market conditions will set the pace of the transformation. The company plans to be in a position to cater to different customer needs, whether it’s an all-electric drive-train or an electrified combustion engine, until well into the 2030s.”

The automobile giant went on to state that its electric vehicle sales are expected to only reach a maximum of 50 percent of the overall sales in the second half of this decade.

The business model change comes after multiple highly-publicized instances of Mercedes-Benz electric vehicles catching on fire and causing massive damage.

An EQB model caught ablaze while being charged in a car showroom in Malaysia on New Year’s Eve 2023, with video footage showing the terrifying moment a portion of the building went up in flames.

The fire destroyed “about 90 percent of the car, five percent of the showroom building structure, and 20 percent of the electric vehicle charging bay” the local fire and rescue operation commander told the Star.

Earlier in the year, a new Mercedes-Benz EQE350+ electric vehicle spontaneously caught fire while parked in a Nocatee, Florida home garage, causing an estimated $1 million in damage to the house.

The car wasn’t even charging when it caught fire, Breitbart News reported.

It is refreshing to see MB executives taking CRM3 seriously as a guiding principle of doing business, as did Ford in 1960.  On the other hand, I note that AGW proponents and their government sponsors have yet to recognize that CRM2 demolishes their views and have yet to start acting accordingly, as is normally done in science.  Yet they claim to be following “settled science”!

MB’s decision is bound to have a ripple effect on E.V. industry decisions worldwide in light of the prominent status the German automaker has enjoyed for decades, having weathered collaboration with the Nazis during WWII and involvement in the Holocaust.

[MB] cars became the first choice of many Nazi, Fascist Italian, and Japanese officials including Hermann Göring, Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini and Hirohito, who most notably used the Mercedes-Benz 770 luxury car. Daimler also produced parts for German arms, most notably barrels for Mauser Kar98k rifles. During World War II, Daimler-Benz had over 60,000 concentration camp prisoners and other forced laborers to build machinery. After the war, Daimler admitted to its links and coordination with the Nazi government.

Marxocrats pushing electric vehicles as part of their agenda to undermine (destroy?) capitalism will see the MB decision as a serious setback.  The issue is what they can do about it — that is, after waking from a heavy lunch of sausages and sauerkraut washed down with steins of Pilsner, followed by generous portions of apfelkrapfen for dessert.

  • A meeting of minds by WEF honchos in a posh Swiss resort is likely, to assess implications for the E.V. industry worldwide and consider next steps.
  • There are enough greens in the German government who can be “persuaded” to get MB to “reconsider” using various “incentives.”
  • Demonstrations in front of MB’s Stuttgart headquarters are certainly a possibility, enhanced perhaps by a greenie drenched in schnapps who set himself on fire.
  • Pressuring MB chairman Ola Källenius probably wouldn’t do much good because his wife is part of the Green Globe Organization; has been pushing plug-in hybrids; and wants him to make the entire Mercedes-Benz fleet, including the flagship G-Wagon, fully electric.

French President Macron promises to throw himself in river Seine

French President Emmanuel Macron pledged to jump in the river Seine as he officially inaugurated the 2024 Olympic village and praised the legacy the Games will leave to Paris, including a “swimmable” river.

The keys to the 52-hectare village just north of Paris along the Seine were officially handed to the Olympics organisers on February 29. It will host some 14,500 athletes and their staff before welcoming 9,000 for the Paralympics.

“You bet I will,” Macron told reporters when asked if he would swim in the Seine, which the city has promised to make clean enough for bathing in by 2025.

“I will do it,” Macron said. “But I won’t give you the date, or you risk being there,” he quipped with a wink.

Paris has been working on cleaning up the Seine so people can swim in it again, as was the case during the 1900 Paris Olympics. But a sewer problem last summer led to the cancellation of a pre-Olympics swimming event.

Macron is not the first French politician to promise to dunk themselves in the river. Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo said she would do so more than three decades after her predecessor Jacques Chirac famously promised to do it “in the presence of witnesses” – but never did.

Macron’s pledge came as Nicolas Ferrand, the General Director of SOLIDEO, the company in charge of delivering the Olympics infrastructure, handed a symbolic key to the village to Paris 2024 President Tony Estanguet, officially concluding a seven-year journey since the city was awarded the Games.

After the sporting extravaganza running from July 26 to August 11, the village will be turned into an eco-friendly neighbourhood. It is designed to benefit 6,000 residents and will feature two schools, a hotel, a public park, shops and offices plus planted areas for pedestrians and non-motorised vehicles.

“Our athletes will be able to experience the Games in the best conditions and you contributed to changing the lives of the people in the area,” Macron said.

He hailed France as a “nation of builders”.

“What has been done on time and within budget as we finalise the reconstruction of Notre Dame is nothing short of remarkable,” Macron added.

Notre-Dame is set to reopen for religious services and to the public on December 8 this year, the cathedral having been renovated after being ravaged by fire in 2019.

French PM Suggests Populists Are Putin’s ‘Troops’ for Questioning Macron’s March to War Rhetoric

French President Emmanuel Macron’s newest attack dog, Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, vociferously defended his boss’s “belligerent” war rhetoric, going so far as to brand Marine Le Pen and her National Rally party as Putin’s “troops” for being against sending French troops to fight in Ukraine.

In what may be come to seen as the opening gambit of the French campaign for the European Parliament, two of the leading figures in the race, Marine Le Pen and Gabriel Attal, squared off in the National Assembly on Tuesday. Rather than the usual issues of campaign season, such as migration or the economy, this time it was President Macron’s warning that the soldiers of France may be called upon to fight in Ukraine against the Russians.

The suggestion from Macron that NATO troops would engage directly with the Russians — and potentially sparking a Third World War over relatively insignificant territories in the Donbas region — has not been received well, with Moscow threatening the potential of global annihilation, and allies backing away, with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz both rejecting the idea that NATO troops would be sent into Ukraine.

For her part, former presidential candidate Marine Le Pen said per Le Figaro: “The first duty of a country is to dispose of the lives of its soldiers only to defend its independence or to preserve its integrity or to commit itself, if, within the framework of an alliance, obligations [that] have been contracted .

“But there on external ground, we would have to intervene militarily with our soldiers? By affirming that sending ground troops was ‘not ruled out’ Emmanuel Macron took a further step towards co-belligerence, posing an existential risk to 70 million French people and more particularly to our armed forces.”

Responding directly to the leader of the National Rally in the French parliament, Gabriel Attal, who became France’s youngest and first openly gay prime minister last month after being appointed by Macron as an heir apparent, blasted Le Pen and suggested that she and her populist party were effectively traitors for the Russian government.

“You defended a military alliance with Russia… only two years ago, it was in your program for the presidential election,” he said. “If you had been elected Madame Le Pen, we would not be providing weapons to the Ukrainians to defend themselves, but we would be providing weapons to Russia to crush the Ukrainians.”

“There is reason to wonder if Vladimir Putin’s troops are not already in our country, I’m talking about you and your troops,” he added.

After the exchange, Le Pen left the National Assembly chamber, saying: “The Prime Minister responded with insult and with contempt. I hope that these French people will remember it when the time comes… I believe that my question was legitimate, that it was expressed in an extremely moderate, reasonable manner.”

Meanwhile, just nine per cent of the French public believe that Ukraine will likely win the war against Russia, and the country is about equally divided on whether to supply more weapons or to push Kyiv towards accepting a peace deal, according to a survey from the European Council of Foreign Relations.

Jihad just means struggle, not holy war – New York City Education Department’s training sessions try to whitewash hate crimes in the name of Jihad

On Tuesday, 27th February, New York City’s Department of Education (DOE)’s training sessions for teachers on understanding and combating anti-Muslim bias sparked controversy as it propagated that jihad means “struggle” and “effort” rather than a synonym for holy war. Jewish Chronicle first reported the sessions that led to a divide among the educators and the broader community. The Jewish teachers who attended the session in question titled “Understanding Muslim Experiences and Combating Anti-Muslim Bias” criticised the portrayal of concepts such as jihad and the interpretation of Sharia law.

The DOE’s training sessions are part of a more extensive anti-discrimination program where educators learn about different concepts. In these sessions, the educators were informed that jihad primarily signified “struggle” or “effort” rather than being a synonym for holy war. The examples that were used to explain jihad included personal struggles for fitness or building friendships, which practically detached the term from its violent associations with extremist groups. “Jihad is the Muslim concept of striving in the path of God,” the host reportedly said.

As per the New York Post’s report, some of the examples of explaining jihad during the sessions included “My jihad is to never settle short of my best effort”, “My jihad is to not judge people by their cover”, and “My jihad is to build friendship across the aisle”. The portrayal of jihad neglected the complexity of the issue and the historical use of the term to promote violence.

Another educator told the New York Post, “Jihad may mean struggle, but it’s disingenuous to omit that it is commonly used to mean holy war and then to say that the media outlets who use it that way just control the narrative.”

Jewish educators and critics voiced concerns over the interpretation. One of the Jewish teachers remarked that such re-definitions have potential danger to society and said, “They are trying to normalise jihad, but we have to address the elephant in the room; that for many radical Muslims, it means violence. It’s like genocide doesn’t mean genocide anymore, and terrorist means freedom fighter. When someone hears a word like jihad, they now associate it with a struggle to go to the gym rather than violence. How will they be able to spot dangerous and violent ideologies?”

Their sentiments reflected a broader apprehension that DOE might want to inadvertently obscure the understanding of the radical ideology in the classrooms. Moreover, discussion on Sharia law during the sessions also faced criticism as it overlooked the stringent applications in specific regimes. For example, there are documented incidents of brutal punishments and human rights violations where Sharia law is in place. The moderators who conducted the sessions focused on personal religious observance of Sharia. However, educators attending the sessions felt they failed to address the complex realities and criticisms of Sharia law and its broader implications on society.

These sessions are being held in the aftermath of the Palestinian Islamic terrorist organisation Hamas’s terrorist attack in Israel in October 2023, killing over 1,300 people, including women, children, elderly and foreigners. DOE has also planned workshops on antisemitism, but that does not mean that the department should be allowed to water down the real-world implications of jihad and Sharia law.

Jewish teachers living in New York City have reported that they experienced antisemitism and bias, underscoring the concerns about their safety. The lack of action from the administration over such behaviour has led to a significant challenges for the Jewish community.

MyJihad campaign to ‘reclaim jihad’

The “MyJihad” campaign was conceptualised in 2012 by Ahmed Rehad, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) Chicago. Reportedly, the aim was to reclaim the term from “extremists”. The campaign encouraged Muslims and non-Muslims alike to use the hashtag “MyJihad to reflect the “spiritual struggle” within. One of the phrases used during the campaign was “#MyJihad: modesty is not a weakness. What’s yours?” It featured a Muslim woman wearing a hijab and carrying a dumbbell.

MyJihad’s Facebook page has been running a “Free Palestine” campaign. Interestingly, CAIR is a Hamas-linked organisation that has extensively worked on whitewashing crimes done in the name of jihad. In January 2023, the organisation asked the USA to stop using the term “terrorist watchlist” as it contained primarily Muslim names. In December 2022, CAIR‘s Ibrahim Hooper blamed “Hindutva” and “Islamophobia” in India after a mob of Muslims beat a Muslim couple for watching the Kannada film Kantara. It was propagated that Hindus beat up the couple, but in reality, it was a Muslim mob that attacked them.

CAIR and its anti-India propaganda

Notably, CAIR identifies itself as a Muslim civil rights organisation in the United States that claims to protect ‘civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims’, The fact, however, is that CAIR is an Islamist group that has spoken against India and Hindus on several occasions. The organisation has been vehemently pushing Hinduphobia and anti-Hindu propaganda in India.

In 2022, CAIR released a report titled “Still Suspect: The Impact of Structural Islamophobia”, in which it said that there has been a rise in discrimination against Muslims living in the United States.

In its report, CAIR claimed that it had received 6,720 complaints nationwide last year involving a range of issues, including immigration, travel discrimination, law enforcement, government overreach, hate and bias incidents, custody rights, school incidents, and free speech incidents.

The CAIR claimed that government discrimination and bias continue to have a disproportionate effect on American Muslims and further demonstrate that Islamic communities continue to be viewed with suspicion. The report also listed the impacts of severe structural and interpersonal Islamophobia in the United States.

Ironically, CAIR, which always complains about alleged Islamophobia in the United States, has been aggressively promoting Hinduphobia and anti-Hindu propaganda in India. We are aware of how CAIR had extended support for the extremely Hinduphobic ‘Dismantling Global Hindutva‘ conference.

Not only this, but in December last year, CAIR had reportedly taken offence at the display of the names of the LeT terrorists and scenes from the deadly 26/11 terror attack that were displayed on a mobile billboard truck in New Jersey. While calling the movement of the vehicle ‘deliberate and well co-ordinated’, CAIR criticised the broadcast of 26/11 footage as ‘messages of hate.’ This was despite the fact that the mobile billboard truck did not display anything contentious but the truth.

In January 2022, CAIR launched Hinduphobic propaganda based on a report by alleged journalist Rana Ayyub. In a press release, CAIR demanded the movie theatres not to release Sooryavanshi, a Hindi movie. In the press release, CAIR alleged the movie spreads “disgusting and dangerous” anti-Muslim propaganda inspired by the fascist Hindutva movement.

The organisation has also called for the release of 49-year-old Pakistani terrorist Aafia Siddiqui, who is currently serving 86 years in prison for attacking US Army and FBI personnel in Afghanistan.

It is noteworthy that CAIR has links with the Palestinian Islamist fundamentalist terror organisation Hamas. Hamas has a long history of violating human rights. Hamas is designated as a terrorist organisation by several countries, including The European Union, the United States, Canada, Israel, Japan, Australia, the United Kingdom etc.

On 7th October, Hamas terrorists launched an all-out attack on Israel from sea, land, and air. At least 5,000 rockets were launched into Israel from Gaza, and tunnels were used to breach the Israeli territory and butcher Israeli civilians, particularly in the border villages. A music festival hosting more than 200 people was turned into a slaughter ground with many women raped, mutilated and abducted to Gaza. Amid budget crisis, Germany’s left-wing government gives themselves massive salary increases

Despite massive holes in the German budget that have led to cuts in public services and targeted farmers with tax increases, the German government just gave themselves huge raises and increased the salaries of the country’s expanding civil servant class. In fact, they are the largest increase in decades and will cost the German taxpayer an extra €979 million a year.

Government officials will start raking in higher salaries in March, where the country’s president, for example, will see his monthly salary increase to €23,003 from €21,625 a month, representing an increase of 6.37 percent. Olaf Scholz can also look forward to a raise, with his salary rising to €22,083 from €20,702.

Ministers will also see a 7 percent increase, with their salaries rising to €17,990 from €16,816. However, their pensions will also rise in tandem, since the more civil servants earn, the higher their pension payout will be.

After just four years in office, a member of the government will see their pension entitlement stand at 27.74 percent of their salary. For example, under this metric, Olaf Scholz will see his monthly pension payout stand at €6,117 per month, compared to €5,734 previously. That is already more than most Germans earn in terms of pure salary and astronomically higher than most Germans’ pension payouts even after a lifetime of working.

From March 1, a civil servant in the higher civil service will earn €298 more per month, which equals an increase of 10.73 percent. A civil servant in the higher education sector, which would include school principals at secondary schools, will earn €458 a month more than before.

The government has already agreed on the salary increases, and they will amount to €979 million more for civil servants and retired civil servants.
