UK: Schools “Should” Let Parents See Sex Education Materials

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak meets Secretary of State for Education Gillian Keegan in 2022.Wikimedia Commons , UK Government, CC-BY-2.0

Schools can no longer use confidentiality and copyright laws to prevent parents from seeing sex education materials being taught to their children. Education Secretary Gillian Keegan has written that they “can and should share curriculum materials with parents” when asked to do so.

Keegan did not say, as reported in The Daily Telegraph and The Times, that schools must provide this information. In a letter to school leaders, she merely stated:

Schools should … feel able to share the materials with parents in a proportionate way …

Schools may provide copies of materials to parents …

Curriculum resources can be shared with parents in some way (all emphasis added)

In a separate statement, Keegan insisted that there are to be “no ifs, no buts, and no more excuses,” adding: “Parents must be empowered to ask, and schools should have the confidence to share.”

“Confidence to share” refers to the education secretary’s insistence that the providers of sex education materials cannot keep these from parents because of copyright laws. Some educational leaders have responded that schools are already sharing this material upon request, despite cases of parents being denied access.

Keegan’s comments have shed no light on the possible repercussions for schools that believe they should not comply with the requests of parents, regardless of copyright rules.

Campaigners see the declaration that schools are within their rights to ignore the confidentiality demands of sex education material providers as a step forward, even if more progress is required. Molly Kingsley of child advocacy group UsForThem told The European Conservative:

It is almost disconcerting to see such strong, sensible guidance from Keegan and the Department for Education. It must now be matched by a pledge to get all inappropriate (non-fact-based) materials out of the classroom, where they never should have been in the first place.

In the face of heavy criticism, the Conservative Party has recently begun talking tough about the rapid expansion of sex education. But it is this very same party that made it compulsory in 2020. Former Tory leader Theresa May described this in PinkNews as a “historic step forward,” suggesting that opponents to the move should be disregarded when setting aside those “who come together united in a cause and belief [which] can change the world.” Long before her time, Tory hero and then Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher was accused by the Responsible Society of “sheer folly” for supporting the expansion of sex education, thus introducing children to “amoral” material that was “subversive of the family.”

Just a day after Keegan contacted schools, reports suggested parents could still face legal troubles when requesting to see the material being presented to their children.

Ukrainian refugee tourism to Ireland is part of the government’s left-wing policy of population adjustment

The recent revelations that Ukrainian nationals are relocating to Ireland from other EU member states in order to claim more attractive benefits come as no surprise to me and are just another example of the abuse of our asylum process I have been informed of from local communities all across the country.

Some months ago, I highlighted that Ireland had at that stage a higher proportion of “Ukrainian” refugees per head of population than any other EU country with the exception of Poland, which is on the border of Ukraine.

Our proportion was approximately two and a half times the EU average despite the fact that we are the country furthest from the war zone.

The comments from Ms. Tymoshchuck, an activities facilitator for the Ukrainian Network in Ireland who revealed to Newstalk that people who may have left Ukraine years before the Russian invasion in February last year are now coming to Ireland for handsome handouts, confirm what every Irish person knows but what the government refuses to acknowledge.

Ukraine is a vast country with large areas unaffected by the war, and these parts of the country should be the first location to accommodate persons fleeing conflict. Instead, tourist accommodations are still widely available in Western Ukraine (while it is not in Ireland), and in much of the country, life goes on as normal.

Those who are legitimate refugees and who have a good reason for Ireland to be their first port of call should be accommodated here, but it appears to me that the government is using this crisis to push its agenda of dramatically increasing Ireland’s population as expressed in its “Ireland 2040” program, without any regard to the impact on the present housing crisis or indeed on long-term social stability.

Furthermore, a number of volunteers involved in the refugee centers in Clare have confirmed to me privately that many of the new arrivals are not remotely connected with Ukraine, and this highlights the complete shambles that our asylum policy has become.

Undocumented persons are coming to Ireland and claiming Ukrainian origin without any proof, and indeed often without even the ability to speak Ukrainian. We have all also heard many stories of such “refugees” returning to Ukraine to receive medical care or dental treatment because the waiting times here are too long.

Ireland’s support systems are much too generous, and our virtue-signalling government seems intent on placing the interests of refugees, whether bogus or legitimate, ahead of the needs of the Irish people. Until the level of support is drastically reduced we will inevitably be subject to “refugee tourism”.

This whole sorry process has not just undermined the provision of services and the housing market in this country, it has the potential to seriously undermine social stability in the near future, if it is not doing so already.

It is clear that many of the refugees have no intention of ever returning to their home countries, and the enormous citizen awarding ceremonies, held now nearly every month in this country, are a clear sign that this is not a policy of short-term humanitarian aid, but a long term policy of population adjustment.

Turkey from within Hagia Sophia incites Muslims to rally behind Gaza while killing Kurds in Syria

Turkey, from within Hagia Sophia, incites the Ummah to rally behind Gaza, killing Muslim Kurdish babies and cutting water and electricity to northeast Syria.

Ali Erbaş, president of Turkey’s Directorate of Religious Affairs (Diyanet), laments in Hagia Sophia, with a sword in hand, that “babies, children and old people, are murdered indiscriminately in a brutal manner” in Gaza and that the world is “simply observing this genocide.”

The symbolism is very clear. With a sword in hand, from within a conquered Cathedral turned mosque, he is inciting ‘the Ummah’ behind the Palestine cause – all while Turkey, since October 4, continues its campaign of death and terror against Muslim Kurds (and other minorities) in northeast Syria by using drones, fighter jets and artillery to eliminate innocent babies, children and old people.

Erdogan bragged earlier this month that, unlike Israel, “Turkey does not kill children.”

However, Mazlum Kobane, the commander-in-chief of the Kurdish-led SDF, recently tweeted: “The Turkish president’s statement naming the war that leads to cutting off water, electricity and roads and destroying infrastructure, places of worship and schools as ‘massacres’ is exactly what his government is doing in northeast Syria. Turkish occupation commits ‘massacres’ and war crimes every day.”

But, the Ummah will continue ignoring the plight of the Kurds while espousing tropes about humanity when discussing Palestine, and Ali Erbaş and Diyanet will continue influencing Muslims all over the world.

Transcript:

“One of the greatest persecutions in human history is happening today in Gaza and Palestine.

“Innocent people, babies, women, children and old people .one Are murdered indiscriminately in a brutal manner. Houses, mosques, schools and even hospitals are bombed mercilessly!

“Before the eyes of the whole world, there is a great humanitarian crime. The world has lost all mercy and conscience, simply observing this genocide.”

French confidence in EU hits a low point

French citizens’ trust in the European Union is at one of its lowest levels to date.

In a Eurobarometer survey on October 24, just 34 per cent of French people questioned said they trusted the EU, while 55 per cent said they had “no confidence” in Brussels.

With seven months to go before the 2024 European Parliament elections, the results could have big implications for one of the bloc’s biggest Member States.

In the current polling for the Parliament elections, Marine Le Pen’s national-populist and EU-critical Rassemblement National (RN) party is leading by a wide margin in France.

According to a poll from earlier in October, RN has led with 28 per cent support, while the coalition of parties supporting President Emmanuelle Macron’s Government, called Ensemble (Together), trailed at 20 per cent.

Other polls predict that, should France’s various left-wing parties remain united for the parliamentary elections, they would stand a good chance of challenging RN for the top spot.

Recent events, especially the Hamas attack on Israel and France’s ban on some Muslim clothing in schools, have torn the French Left apart.

Members of the hard-left La France Insoumise (LFI) party, led by firebrand Jean-Luc Mélenchon, have come under heavy criticism for their supposed “anti-Zionist” stance.

Prior to that, the French Socialist Party leader had said he had no interest in the “soap opera” infighting that a common left-wing list would likely entail.

Overall, the polling figures show a changing attitude in what has has historically been considered one of the most pro-EU countries in the bloc.

France, along with Germany, was one of the founding Member States of the EU. Many commentators have pointed out that the then-French government was one of the leading voices for creating a “United States of Europe” in the bloc’s early days.

That has since changed with France’s growing negativity towards the EU. Part of that appears rooted in a bleak perception of the overall situation in the country and wider Europe.

A staggering 69 per cent of the French population view their national economy as “bad” with similarly grim views on the European economy and employment.

Over the past 70 years, France’s stance towards the EU has undergone distinct phases.

From the 1950s to the 1980s, there was a “permissive consensus” prevalent, with European integration being driven from the top down, and although that was largely detached from public involvement, it was still popular.

In the early 1990s, the so-called “Maastricht moment” marked a shift, introducing a period of division.

The 1992 Maastricht Treaty referendum on its ratification split France, with 51 per cent voting “yes” and 49 per cent “no.” This marked the beginning of growing scepticism towards the EU as a whole.

Dear Woke Western relativists, after the Jews Hamas is coming for you

by Giulio Meotti

We truly live in a strange West.

Take the president of the Scottish Students’ Union. She seemed to understand Hamas’ massacres. Two days earlier, she accused Labor leader Keir Starmer of being “complicit in the death of… trans people” for saying that biology matters when it comes to women. Understood? A politician with a natural view of femininity is a criminal, but a terrorist who kills Israeli boys and girls at a music festival must be understood.

They ask for “safe spaces” for gender, queer, LGBT, blacks etc.. but they don’t find it scandalous to massacre Israelis. Hamas has been bombing Tel Aviv for two weeks and the rights champions are chanting “Free Palestine”.

Who knows if Gianni Vattimo – the Italian homosexual philosopher who said he wanted to “shoot those Zionist bastards” – has ever thought about what they would do to him in Gaza.

Maybe they drank too much whiskey in Scotland. Let’s move then to Spain, where three female ministers of the left-wing government have just asked to arrest…Benjamin Netanyahu.

In Barcelona, as in other European and American cities, there are demonstrations with rainbow flags in support of Hamas and the killing of innocent Jews.

Judith Butler, the popess of gender theory, has characterized Hamas and Hezbollah as a “resistance movement”.

The Spanish Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, refused solidarity with Israel, “not in our name”. The same Montero who asked if “men and women exist?”, to justify the transgender law.

Who knows if men and women exist in Gaza.

Meanwhile, feminist organizations are silent about the rapes of Israeli girls by Hamas, writes Newsweek.

We are plagued by infantile ideological, nihilistic, sad chatter that exudes surrender.

On the day the Taliban took Kabul, the famous British model, feminist, influencer and actress Lily Cole had herself photographed in a burqa under a post that wanted to “celebrate diversity at all levels – biodiversity; cultural diversity; diversity of thought; diversity of voice; diversity of ideas”.

“Today we strike in solidarity with Palestine and Gaza. The world needs to make her voice heard and call for an immediate ceasefire, as well as achieving justice and freedom for the Palestinians and all civilians involved.”

Greta Thunberg’s social post is beautiful, as always. It’s a shame that there isn’t even a comma about the 1,400 Israelis murdered at dawn on October 7, the children and old people massacred, the 200 kidnapped today inside Gaza, Greta’s peers killed at the rave party, the raped, the humiliated as spoils of war on the streets of Gaza City. The Manichaeism on which Greta’s click-baiting militancy feeds is the realm of the binary: dominant or dominated, racist or anti-racist, executioners or victims.

And it goes without saying that Israel, symbol of the West, can never be a victim, not even on 7 October, when twenty villages ended up decimated by Hamas.

Or maybe burning Israelis alive reduces global warming?

French philosopher Michel Onfray is right, writing in this week’s Le Figaro:

“Jihadists have no use for cisgender women, same-sex marriages, lesbian couples, transsexual transitions, surrogacy, quinoa salads, wind turbines and the electric bicycles of the lower middle class. This arm that its left hand holds for its personal purposes will turn against it when the time comes. In these terrible hours, the Jews were the first to be sacrificed.”

But this betrayal requires a large-scale sacrifice and Islam is already on its way to subjugating the flaccid relativist society.

Polish Farmers Tell Tusk To Drop Anti-Meat Stance for Coalition

Screen grab youtube

An influential alliance of Polish farmers could throw a spanner in the works for the formation of a liberal-left coalition government in Warsaw. They have outlined their demands for politicians to scrap aspects of the anti-meat agenda.

Two weeks have passed since Poland’s parliamentary elections, and the dust has yet to properly settle. The elections saw a sudden surge for a centrist agrarian party, giving the opposition enough seats to oust the ruling PiS government in favour of a pro-EU coalition led by former European Council President Donald Tusk.

Agricultural issues played a major role in the election race. PiS’ traditional grip on rural voters was weakened by a grain crisis caused by excessive Ukrainian imports.

It may be Christmas before Tusk’s anti-PiS government is inaugurated in Warsaw, as farmer groups now push to win assurances that any new administration will not pursue anti-meat policies.

The Agricultural Twelve, “Rolnicza Dwunastka,” a powerful lobby group for Polish farmers, issued twelve key demands last week to all political parties in Poland. These included asking that politicians not impose cuts to livestock numbers or ban ritual slaughter practices.

The demands have split the anti-PiS coalition between pro- and anti-meat factions. Socialist politicians have already rejected many of the demands.

Andrzej Szejna, an MP with the progressive Lewica party, dismissed most of the demands as “outdated,” leading to fears that any new government in Poland may pursue an anti-meat agenda to the detriment of Poland’s farming community. The only party so far to fully back the demands by farmers is PiS, keen to solidify its position among the agricultural community.

Across Europe, agricultural producers are on edge thanks to cutbacks in meat production. The issue has already inspired a flurry of protests in the Netherlands and led to the electoral rise of the populist BBB party, which represents farmers’ interests.

Elsewhere, Poland’s would-be prime minister Donald Tusk travelled to Brussels with an eye to unlock European Commission funding withheld from Poland as part of a split between Eurocrats and the conservative PiS government.

Manhunt in Belgium: Mohammed A., a Palestinian migrant who applied for asylum last month, is wanted after he said he intended to “die as a martyr by causing an explosion”

Police are searching for a man with Palestinian nationality. The 23-year-old Mohammed A. declared on Tuesday that he “wants to die as a martyr through an explosion”, according to several sources.

The man had applied for asylum in this country on September 26. He was supposed to report again the next day, but did not appear. On Tuesday, he reported to an official office and is said to have stated that he wanted to die as a martyr. The Palestinian had learned that his entire family had died in Gaza.

The asylum seeker was immediately put on the national wanted list. This means that all police units in the country are searching for the man. It is still unclear how serious the threat is.

Austria: Afghan beats up sister – because she attends school

Vienna Regional Court, Wikimedia Commons, Dnalor 01, CC-BY-SA-3.0-AT

A 16-year-old Afghan was sentenced to 18 months of partial imprisonment at the Vienna Regional Court after he had bullied his entire family, especially his younger sister, for months. One reason for the attacks: His sister attends school.
He beat the 15-year-old sister because she attended school and went to the same class together with boys. On May 26, 2023, he beat her to hospital because she refused to serve him tea.

After this incident, the family had alerted the police. The Afghan was arrested and subsequently taken into custody, where he spent five months until his trial. Of the sentence imposed on him, three months were unconditionally pronounced, the rest was conditionally suspended under a three-year probationary period. A probation order was issued and the juvenile had to undergo psychotherapy. After the unconditional part of the sentence was considered to have been served, he was arrested immediately after the trial. For the time being, he is to be accommodated in a mental health clinic, and reunification with his family is out of the question.

“He did not approve of his sister going to school,” said public prosecutor Wolfram Bauer at the beginning of the trial. The fact that the sister was attending class together with boys of the same age had “further frustrated” the accused.

The teenager had come to Austria in August 2022 in the course of a family reunion. His eldest brother, who has been living and working legally in Vienna for several years and is very well integrated, had brought him from Afghanistan to join the rest of the family in Vienna after the Taliban took power. However, the boy probably did not adapt to life here and found it difficult to adjust to Western morals and values. Above all, his image of women corresponded more to that of the Taliban than to a cosmopolitan society. “He did not succeed in gaining a foothold here,” said the prosecutor. The accused had acted as “master of the house” towards the whole family – he lived in a household with his mother, sister and two younger brothers, while the older brother had his own flat.

He had “bullied” his younger sister in particular, the prosecutor said: “When she did not comply with his wishes, there were outbreaks of violence. The 15-year-old sister, but also the eleven and 13-year-old brothers, were regularly beaten. The situation escalated completely on May 26, when the girl refused to serve tea to the brother, who was registered with the employment office as a job seeker and was attending a German course. He then punched her several times in the face and kicked her in the head after she had fallen to the ground. “He beat her up badly,” the prosecutor said. The sister suffered a gaping multiple nasal fracture and had to be treated in hospital for several days.

In the course of the police investigation, it turned out that the boy had repeatedly extorted cash from the mother in order to buy drugs. He threatened her that he would beat his siblings again if she did not give him money.

Germany: Islamist Arrested for Plotting Attack on Pro-Israel Rally

Representative Image screen grab youtube

German authorities on Tuesday announced that they had arrested a man in the city of Duisburg on suspicion of planning a terrorist attack.

Multiple reports identified the suspect as “Tarik S.,” a 29-year-old German-Egyptian national who previous traveled to Syria to join the Islamic State in 2013, according to the AFP and Times of Israel. He returned to Germany in 2016 and received a five-year prison sentence for joining the terrorist group.

German officials stated that any planned attack remains under investigation, though the German outlet Bild reported that the individual expressed a desire to die by martyrdom on social media. He was allegedly planning to attack a planned pro-Israel rally in northwestern Germany by plowing a truck into the crowd.

Der Spiegel, moreover, stated that the arrest followed Germany’s receipt of foreign intelligence about the suspect, including his prior searches for pro-Israel demonstrations and jihadist content.

The arrest comes amid mounting fears across the continent of terrorist attacks and political violence in the wake of the Oct. 7 Hamas raid on Israel, which has since prompted large-scale demonstrations on both sides across multiple continents.

Israel has maintained a bombardment of the Gaza Strip in preparation for a possible land invasion and the conflict has already resulted in cross-border exchanges between Israel and its neighbors to the north, Lebanon and Syria.

The White House on Tuesday confirmed it was exploring “contingencies,” including “evacuations” for Americans should the conflict erupt into a wider war.
