Venice Mayor Luigi Brugnaro announced a ban on La Linea’s electric buses following two accidents involving its vehicles, one of which resulted in the deaths of 21 people.
The decision came after a La Linea bus collided with a building in Mestre, a Venice suburb, on the evening of October 14, injuring 15 people. Other than the driver, all the injured were discharged from hospital the same day, local press reported.
The crash followed another accident on October 3 in which an electric bus left a bridge, killing 21 people.
Such vehicles have been widely introduced in the city in a push to promote sustainable transport.
The accidents have caused concern regarding passenger safety.
Authorities are now investigating the latest collision to determine if there was a mechanical failure of the bus.

After the incident on October 3, Brugnaro insisted there was no need to rethink the city’s plans to increase the number of electric buses in the city’s fleet. He said the reason the bus came off the bridge had “nothing to do with the fact that it is electric”.
Despite that, he later said the use of all such electric buses has been suspended to enable “an adequate investigation”.
He said of the latest incident: “In the meantime, my thoughts turn to the injured, among whom, fortunately, none are in serious condition.
“The competent authorities will understand the reason for this accident, which did not have serious consequences for people.”
The mayor went on to say that the suspension of the electric fleet was “absolutely necessary” at this point.
La Linea stated that “no technical problems have arisen or been found on the vehicle, which is also of very recent production” and that it has launched an internal investigation.
It attributed the latest collision to the driver having been taken ill at the wheel, as was previously stated.
Two municipal officials responsible for the maintenance of Venice’s bridges and roads are under investigation.
A professional footballer who plays for German champions Bayern Munich has faced calls to be expelled from the country after promoting content on social media calling for the annihilation of Israel.
Noussair Mazraoui, a 25-year-old Dutch-Morrocan national who pledged his allegiance to the Morroco national team, sparked outrage with a pro-Palestinian post on Instagram.
In a video shared by Mazraoui, a voiceover said, “God, help our oppressed brothers in Palestine to achieve victory. May God give grace to the dead, may God heal their wounded.”
In addition, the Morrocan footballer shared a link to a website that advocates the destruction of the state of Israel, and posted the Quranic verse: “And do not think that Allah is heedless of what those who commit injustice do. It only holds them back until the day when their eyes will be frozen in horror.”
The remarks are likely to cause friction with David Peretz, a 23-year-old Israeli goalkeeper who joined the German champions in the summer from Maccabi Tel Aviv and has himself published content on social media expressing sympathy for the Israeli civilians slaughtered by Hamas terrorists on Oct. 7, which sparked the latest flare-up in the long-standing conflict between Israel and Palestine.
In response to the comments, several lawmakers from the opposition center-right Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party called for Bayern to sack Mazraoui and for authorities to expel him from Germany.
“Dear FC Bayern, please throw him out immediately. In addition, all state options should be used to expel him from Germany,” wrote CDU MP Johannes Steiniger on X, formerly Twitter.
“I hope FC Bayern draws conclusions! Anyone who sympathizes with Hamas’ terrible terrorist attacks on Israel has no place in Germany,” added party colleague and fellow Bundestag member Christoph Ploß.

Mazraoui has since issued a statement following the widespread criticism of his behavior, claiming he had never intended to offend anyone.
“First of all, I would like to say that it is really disappointing that I have to explain what I stand for. There is a situation out there where thousands of innocent people are being murdered. My position is that I will work for peace and justice in this world. This means that I will always be against all kinds of terrorism, hatred, and violence. And that’s something I will always stand behind,” the Morrocan footballer wrote.
“That’s why I don’t understand why people think the opposite about me and why I’m associated with hateful groups. Today is not about what I think or what you think, innocent people are being killed every day by this terrible conflict that has gotten out of hand. We all need to be against it and speak out against it. This is just inhumane,” he added.
“Finally, I would like to make it clear that it was never my intention to offend or hurt anyone, consciously or unconsciously,” Mazraoui concluded.
Bayern Munich has refused to comment on the matter.

Especially in the cities of Vienna and Linz, where more Muslims attend compulsory school than Catholics. “Well, this is a difficult task,” one headmistress sums it up in the newspaper “Heute”, according to the well-known ex-school director and teacher Niki Glattauer. Teachers are supposed to explain the Middle East conflict in class. As balanced as possible, that’s what the education directorate wants. In view of the indoctrination many pupils receive at home, this is an almost impossible task.
Glattauer reports that Austria’s Islamic teachers received a written instruction from their school board (IGGÖ) last week. They were to deal with current events “responsibly”, it said. One headmistress sounded the alarm: “I asked upstairs if we could at least leave out the topic at the moment, when two colleagues on the teaching staff are self-declared Jews,” she is quoted as saying. The answer: “On the contrary!” They expect the subject to be dealt with in class, as objectively as possible, of course.
The dilemma of many educators can be found in the figures of Statistics Austria. In most primary and secondary schools, Muslim pupils are already in the majority. In Linz, for example, 35.75 % are Muslims, 33.13 % Christians – eXXpress reported. A matching survey result: every second Muslim questioned is an avowed “anti-Semite”. Only 14 % of the Muslims in Austria surveyed in autumn 2022 agreed “fully” with the assertion that “Israel has a right to exist as the homeland of the Jewish people”, and almost 50 % said that this was “not at all” or “rather not” true.
Based on three statements by teachers, Glattauer makes the desperate situation clear: “We teachers are not miracle workers, and if the children are indoctrinated at home, there is not much we can do.” – “School is there for mathematics, geography and other things, but not for social work.” – “In this day and age, the best thing you can do as a teacher is to address 0.0 political issues. You can only lose with that topic.”

A trans-identified inmate in Oregon has received a “vulnerable” designation by an Oregon Court, entitling him to special protections and privileges due to his gender identity. Zera Lola Zombie, who is currently in custody for the brutal murder of his ex-girlfriend, had previously been granted temporary relief from what he claimed was male violence targeted against him.
Zombie, born Daniel Lee Smith, first filed a lawsuit against the Oregon Department of Corrections (ODOC) in 2021 alleging he had suffered discrimination on the basis of his gender identity. Amongst the grievances, Zombie claimed he had been subjected to “ongoing harassment” by staff and fellow inmates while incarcerated at male institutions.
Following the launch of his suit, Zombie was briefly transferred to the Coffee Creek Women’s Correctional Facility, but was quickly moved back to the male estate just weeks later for unknown reasons.
Speaking to Reduxx last month, ODOC Media Manager Amber Campbell explained that though housing decisions are reviewed every six months, Zombie was returned to a men’s prison just three months after being sent to the women’s facility.
Though the lawsuit is ongoing, Zombie’s lawyers filed a motion in early September demanding a number of measures be put in place to “protect” Zombie from dangerous male inmates. Among the requests were that Zombie be housed in a private cell on a unit with no sex offenders, and that he ultimately be transferred back to Coffee Creek.
As previously reported by Reduxx, one day after the motion was filed, an Oregon Court temporarily granted Zombie’s request to be designated a “vulnerable” person and ordered ODOC to comply with a number of his demands. The court put the measures in place until September 29, but has now issued a follow-up order extending the motion.
According to the most recent order, filed on September 30, the court has affirmed Zombie’s “vulnerable” status and granted him an “extraordinary remedy” after being satisfied with his claims that accommodations were required to prevent him from being subject to “irreparable harm.”
Among the protections Zombie will receive is a fully private cell where he cannot be “viewed while nude by male inmates and staff.” Another order allowing Zombie to shower and dress away from male inmates and staff suggests that female staff will now be responsible for his cell inspections and physical exams.
Zombie, who is classified as a “female” inmate in the Oregon inmate directory, will also be provided separate meal and medication times to avoid inmates he has previously filed complaints about.

Curiously, Zombie’s demand to be re-transferred to the Coffee Creek Women’s Facility was denied a second time by the court, though no reason was provided. That Zombie was hastily removed from the women’s facility and has been repeatedly denied a transfer since calls into question what took place at the prison to make both ODOC and the court reluctant to allow him to return.
Zombie is currently serving a 35-year sentence for charges including the brutal 2014 murder of Samantha Brown, who had been his girlfriend at the time. Brown was beaten to death, her corpse left in the trailer home she and Zombie shared. While the motive for the crime was never made clear, Brown was survived by four young children.
During the trial, Zombie pleaded guilty to manslaughter and assault to avoid possible murder and attempted murder convictions that could have put him in prison for life without parole. He was also charged with an additional first-degree assault on a separate individual, as well as a count of manufacturing meth.
Zombie began identifying as transgender in 2020 and started a hormone regimen around that time. He has since changed his name and gender marker on legal documents. His attorneys in the lawsuit also insist he has developed “obvious breasts” due to his hormones, and have used the point to emphasize he is at heightened risk in a men’s prison.
You wouldn’t want to be a leftist, waking up to the morning’s election results in either Australia or New Zealand.
Both countries’ voters repudiated them and their agendas with pounding mercilessness. CNN used the word ‘punish’ in its headline:
New Zealand Prime Minister Chris Hipkins has conceded his Labour party lost Saturday’s election, as voters punished the government and took the country rightwards nine months after his predecessor Jacinda Ardern suddenly resigned.
The rising cost of living dominated campaigning with voters New Zealanders ending six years of Labour Party rule, the latter half of which was dominated by the country’s strict response to the coronavirus pandemic that successfully kept infections low but battered the economy.
With more than 98% of votes counted, the center-right National Party, led by former airline executive Christopher Luxon, had amassed around 40% of ballots, according to New Zealand’s Electoral Commission.
A dejected Hipkins told supporters that Labour did not have enough votes to form a government.
“The result tonight is not one that any of us wanted,” he said, according to RNZ. “I gave it my all to turn the tide of history but alas, it was not enough.”
Hipkins was a placeholder, the guy who got the thankless job of taking the helm after rabidly leftwing Jacinda Ardern jumped ship after wrecking the economy. Nobody even wanted the job but he ended up with it. As for Ardern, she landed herself a fancy gig at Harvard, supposedly to “teach” even though the only thing that can be learned from her is what not to do.
She expanded government. She printed money. She ushered in ferocious inflation. She let crime run free. And she was a big fan of the heavy-handed grip of government, imposing severe lockdowns, vaxx mandates, gun grabs, and the demonization of the right. She was a truly nasty piece of work who left office with a 29% approval rating that just kept going downhill. While the international left feted her, the Kiwi locals couldn’t stand her and they made their views known on this election, not just her but her entire party and the mess they made. I wrote about her good-riddance exit last January here.
Over in Australia, it was largely the same picture. They had a reparations referendum to vote on, a case of issuing special rights to the indigenous minority over the rest of the country’s citizens, and they said ‘no’ — very, very loudly.
Australia has overwhelmingly rejected a plan to give greater political rights to Indigenous people in a referendum.
All six states voted No to a proposal to amend the constitution to recognise First Nations people and create a body for them to advise the government.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said defeat was hard: “When you aim high, sometimes you fall short. We understand and respect that we have.”
Opposition leader Peter Dutton said the result was “good for our country”.
The referendum, dubbed “The Voice”, was Australia’s first in almost a quarter of a century. With the majority of ballots counted, the “No” vote led “Yes” 60% to 40%.
Its rejection followed a fraught and often acrid campaign.
Supporters said that entrenching the Indigenous peoples into the constitution would unite Australia and usher in a new era.
No leaders said that the idea was divisive, would create special “classes” of citizens where some were more equal than others, and the new advisory body would slow government decision-making.
Going for the Animal Farm stuff with some animals more equal than others. Our correspondent in Australia, Viv Forbes, wrote about that here, calling it “more about politics than justice.” Seems the entire country was on his page when he wrote that last Oct. 3 that granting special rights to one group over the others, even though huge numbers of Australians are native-born, is a road to perdition, explaining:
Many Australians distrust proposals supported by big government; big business; trade unions; and the state-owned broadcasting company, the ABC.
Ordinary Australians are continually insulted by being “welcomed” to events by people [presumably indigenous activists in costumers] stomping around in red nappies, blowing smoke, and making drainpipe noises. Most of these ceremonies are modern inventions. We do not need to be welcomed to our own country.
For these and many other reasons, I will be voting “NO.”
Pretty much everyone thought that.
And that is good news to hear, showing that change is possible, not just across the Pacific, but bubbling up here, too. The left may be bawling over these developments, but the rest of us are heartened. Let’s hope for a wave.
The left-wing Labour Party in Britain is reportedly planning on making ‘misgendering’ someone a crime with up to two years in prison.
In a move that would introduce compelled speech laws, Sir Keir Starmer’s Labour Party is preparing to create new hate speech legislation that would punish people for referring to someone with the “wrong” gender pronoun.
According to a report from the Mail on Sunday, a Labour government would seek to elevate misgendering an “aggravated offence” putting it on the same level as assault or harassment motivated by race or religion, which comes with up to two years in prison.
Responding to the report, Caroline Ffiske of Conservatives for Women said: “Thousands of women dispute the notion of ‘gender identity’ and particularly the idea that it should be prioritised over biological sex.
“We have serious and legitimate concerns over being expected, in the workplace, when using public services or in private life, to refer to a man as ‘she/her’.
“Is there a risk with this policy that a woman could be accused of harassment for correctly sexing a man and then for that to be treated as an aggravated offence?”
Reclaim Party leader Laurence Fox added: “You can take your pronouns and your compelled speech and shove them where the sun don’t shine.
“Looks like anyone who isn’t clinically insane is going to be spending some time in chokey with our new Labour overlords in power from next year.”
With the governing Conservative Party continuing to struggle in the polls, amid failures to tackle illegal and legal immigration and ushering in the highest tax burden since the Second World War during a cost of living crisis, the Labour Party is widely expected to take control of the government in the next general election.
According to the latest survey of Westminster voting intention from YouGov, the Conservatives currently stand at 24 per cent of the vote, compared to the Labour Party at 47 per cent. Meanwhile, the Liberal Democrats are currently polling at 9 per cent and the populist Reform UK (formerly the Brexit Part) is sitting at 8 per cent.
Although the left-wing Labour Party would likely seek to expand hate speech laws, the Conservative Party under multiple prime ministers has refused to repeal Tony Blair-era hate speech laws and has vastly expanded the government’s power to police content on the internet.
Indeed, just last month the Conservative government passed into law the Online Safety Bill, which empowers the Office of Communications (Ofcom), the UK’s country’s equivalent of the FCC, to levy fines of up to £18 million (roughly $22 million) or up to 10 per cent of an online company’s global turnover for failing to abide by the government’s limits on speech.

A teacher has been killed and two people wounded in a knife attack Friday at a school in the northern French city of Arras, local media report.
The French interior minister confirmed a police operation was ongoing and that the attacker has been arrested.
According to several media reports, the attack took place inside the Gambetta high school at 11 a.m. on Friday. The attacker, who has been named in the French press as Mohammed Mogouchkov, is reportedly of Chechen origin and is said to have shouted “Allahu Akbar” during the attack.
Mohammed and Allahu Akbar. They’re gonna attribute it to mental illness, aren’t they?
Mogouchkov was reportedly under police surveillance before the attack and on the police register of radicalized individuals.
Much good that surveillance seems to do. Maybe France would consider not having Chechen Jihadists in its country rather than surveilling them and waiting until they do something?
The attacker “turned toward a staff member of the school, the head cook I believe and injured him, and stabbed him several times,” said Martin Dousseau, a philosophy teacher who witnessed the attack. “I was then chased by him, and asked me ‘are you a history teacher?’
The attack comes three years after another attack at a school in the Paris suburbs where a teacher was beheaded by a Chechen extremist.
What’s the correct number of Chechen Muslim terrorist attacks that France should be experiencing? Zero. That would be easily remedied by removing the Chechen refugees back to Chechnya.
On October 16, 2020, Samuel Paty, a history and geography teacher, was stabbed and beheaded near his school in the town of Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, near Paris. The perpetrator was 18-year-old Abdoullakh Anzorov, a Russian refugee from Chechnya who was killed by police soon after the murder.
Anzorov had no connection with Paty or the school. He travelled from his home in Normandy to kill the teacher after watching a video posted by a pupil’s father who was angry that Paty had shown students images of the prophet of Islam in a civics class. Paty was teaching the children about freedom of expression. He emphasised that they could choose not to look at the cartoons if they were offended.
There’s no freedom of expression, or freedom, in Islam. And at this rate there soon won’t be any in France.
With the advent of transgenderism, feminism has effectively killed itself.
Its advocates are now surprised that their theory was radically enforced and they are now falling under the wheels.
After all, does anyone remember this?
“You are not born a woman, you become one.”
This probably most famous quote from Simone de Beauvoir’s key work “Le deuxième sexe” (“The Other Sex”) dates from 1949. It is a classic of feminism that is more than 70 years old, from one part of the world’s first modern couple (Beauvoir had a common-law relationship with French existential philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre, living in Paris) and is the quote of all original feminists.
She wasn’t the only one, though from the musty halls of feminist philosophy. There is the book called “The Little Difference,” by German feminist Alice Schwarzer who was a collaborator with Beauvoir.
Alice Schwarzer concluded that the “myth of the vaginal orgasm (also considering the cultural meaning of penetration) gives the men the sex-monopole with which they oppress women. It gives them the monopole of defining the sexual standards and this monopole of sex gives them also social, cultural and financial monopole in a patriarchal society. Therefore, she asks women to challenge male norms of sexuality because this will also challenge the gender stereotypes, which will lead to change and to female emancipation.
It’s all about women focused on themselves: beginning with the idea of “Liberation” which made it clear to protagonist Alice Schwarzen that she is an equality feminist, so for her there are hardly any differences between men and women.
That’s just the radical gender theory in its original version.
But with transgenderism, women are at a disadvantage now there, too. After fifty years in the mainstream the book has brought few benefits to women.
The hysteria in feminism is therefore transparent – is it about the children, or the families that break up? Or is it about women’s spaces and nothing more?
Alice Schwarzer’s quote about the law shows this best: Women believe that their problem is gender and not patriarchy.
So it’s always about your own interests.
That patriarchy doesn’t exist and that everything is propagated by the feminist lobby.especially since in the 1975 book The Little Difference she praised John Money and what he did with David Reimer, forcing a boy with damaged genitals to grow up as a girl and not telling him. She praised that as a great medical innovation.
So is Schwarzer really the big new trans-critic or is it just about her special rights? In particular, many lesbians are feminists and now many young women with male attributes and probably lesbian leanings are more likely to come out as trans-men than others, so is it just about a problem with sexual partners, which she wrote about in her first book?
If feminism would admit that men and women are different physically but also mentally then we wouldn’t have these problems.
Police across Britain are on high alert over fears of a terror attack after an ex-Hamas boss called on sympathisers to engage in a “day of jihad”.
It comes after Israel issued an order for Palestinians to evacuate from Gaza within 24 hours.
Khaled Meshaal, a former leader of the extremist group who now acts as a messenger to Palestinians living abroad, called on “all scholars who teach jihad” to join “a moment for the application”.
Following Meshaal’s remarks – believed to be a call to arms – an extra 1,000 police officers are on duty in London.
The UK’s domestic terror alert level remains unchanged, with “substantial” suggesting an attack is thought to be likely.
A “very significant policing operation” is in place for the weekend ahead of a pro-Palestine march in London today, according to Met police deputy assistant commissioner Laurence Taylor.
“For the moment we are doing largely reassurance and protective security patrols but it would, of course, be absolutely remiss of us not to be working in the background from the counter terrorism policing perspective to understand should there be any increased threats,” he told the Mirror.
But concerns remain high in areas with large Jewish populations following a rise in reports of antisemitic abuse.
From September 30 to October 13, the Met has recorded 105 antisemitic incidents and 75 antisemitic offences.
By the end of today, the force plans to have visited every synagogue in the city and has met 2,000 parents as well as pupils and schools’ leaders over concerns about the safety of young people.
It comes after supporters of both Israel and Palestine clashed in London after police had to separate them in High Street Kensington Underground station – close to Israel’s British embassy.
Footage on social media shows two women ripping down the flyers in Camden, but GB News understands posters have also been torn down in other parts of the capital.
The posters show the faces of men, women and children believed to have been abducted by Hamas since their attack last weekend.
The Israeli military said more than 1,300 people, including 222 soldiers, have been killed, while Gaza says another 1,800 people are dead within the territory.
