French Police Arrest Man in Relation to Brussels Terrorist Attack

Police in the French city of Nantes have arrested a man in relation to the Brussels terrorist attack earlier this week which saw two Swedes shot and killed by Tunisian illegal immigrant and radical Islamist Abdesalem Lassoued, who was shot dead hours later by Brussels police.

The arrest of the man, who has yet to be identified by police, occurred on Thursday after investigators found that Lassoued had sent him messages and a video online shortly before he had killed his two Swedish victims, broadcaster BFMTV reports.

French newspaper Le Parisien, meanwhile, has claimed that the video sent by Lassoued was also sent to three other individuals, while newspaper Ouest France has stated the suspect is also a Tunisian national.

Belgian Federal Prosecutor Frédéric Van Leeuw claimed after the attack that Lassoued carried out his massacre alone and that authorities do not suspect him to be part of a broader network of radical Islamist terrorists.

Belgian authorities also said that Lassoued had not been on an anti-terrorism watchlist in Belgium despite reports stating that as early as 2016 Lassoued had been on the radar of authorities in his native Tunisia for radicalism.

While Lassoued may have acted as a so-called ‘lone wolf,”’ many questions remain regarding the attack, including how he had access to the rifle he used to gun down his victims. Islamist terror attacks involving firearms tend to involve networks or the backing of larger terrorist groups. The Islamic State, which took credit for the Charlie Hebdo magazine massacre in January of 2015 and the Bataclan nightclub massacre later that year in November, both of which involved automatic rifles, has also claimed to be behind the Brussels attack.

Despite the fact that Lassoued claimed on camera to be a part of the Islamic State terror group, Belgian investigators have been reluctant to claim the group played a part in the planning or logistics of the attack itself.

The Belgian government has been roundly criticised for its lack of action regarding Lassoued prior to his attack, with some questioning how authorities were unaware of Lassoued’s criminal background in Sweden, his recorded radicalism in Tunisia, or his multiple failed attempts at claiming asylum in European countries.

Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo blamed a lack of communication and transparency among countries saying, “We did not have that important information and it could have allowed our security services to make a different assessment. When potentially dangerous people travel, our services need to know about it.”

France: “I’m going to fire the Kalashnikov”, says a youth of Chechen origin caught carrying a knife near the large synagogue in Strasbourg

A Frenchman of Chechen origin was arrested near the synagogue in Strasbourg on Thursday October 19. According to information from Le Figaro, the 15-year-old was detained by a police officer (CRS) when he let the blade of his knife slip over the metal fences around the Great Synagogue of Peace. He then allegedly concealed the weapon in his sleeve. The man was then taken into police custody and told investigators that he had found the knife by chance in his pocket. The blade was twelve centimetres long. The teenager later claimed that he had not known that the building he was in was a synagogue.

Investigators had found a message in his mobile phone on the social network Snapchat that said: “ATT I’m coming to your school, I’m going to fire the Kalashnikov, I’m going to be the most famous Chechen.” The person also reportedly researched the internet to find out the price of a Kalashnikov. However, he is said to have assured that he wanted to buy the heavy weapon in order to set up a drug smuggling ring. The investigation has since been handed over to the criminal investigation department. As a reminder, another incident of this kind occurred in the south of France. A man armed with a knife had been arrested in Cannes on Wednesday when he was 300 metres from a synagogue. He had threatened a passer-by and shouted “Allah Akbar”. According to Gérald Darmanin, 3,376 reports of glorification of terrorism or anti-Semitic acts have been registered since the Hamas attack in Israel.

Fear of Arab mobs: Berlin bans posters showing Hamas hostages

Almost everyone is now familiar with the missing persons displays of the Israeli Hamas hostages, which can be seen on and in many buildings and in the cityscape of many metropolises. Journalists wanted to make a big splash with a campaign to publicise the moving search operation in Berlin and rented display panels. But the authorities forbid the terror hostages from Israel to be shown!

Germany’s largest advertising space marketer Wall AG had to turn down an order from the journalist blog Salonkolumnisten. According to an article in the newspaper Tagesspiegel, the journalists wanted to place missing persons ads for the almost 200 hostages kidnapped by Hamas from Israel on large displays of the company in the Mitte district of Berlin – combined with the demand that these people be “brought home alive”. Who could possibly object?

Apparently the government of Berlin! More specifically, the Berlin public transport company BVG, to which Wall AG, as a contractual partner, has to submit “political” advertisements for approval.

BVG forbade Wall AG to publish the missing persons ads!

The objection of David Harnasch, managing director of Salonkolumnisten, that it was not a political campaign but an advertisement for a “fundamental gesture of humanity” did not alter the decision.

When asked by the Tagesspiegel, a spokeswoman for the Berlin traffic administration wrote: “The danger of an aggravating conflict with consequences for public safety, as well as the risk for the advertising installations and ultimately also for the Wall company are too great”.

In concrete terms, this means that the Berlin traffic administration is afraid of the Arab mobs that have been taking over the streets at pro-Hamas marches since October 7, chanting anti-Jewish slogans and attacking police officers.

Meanwhile, all over the world, the red and white missing persons notices from Israel are hung showing the faces of the terror victims – only the capital Berlin and its famous public transport companies, which like to pretend they are particularly left-wing and relaxed, say the topic is “too hot”. The spokesperson added in her message: “Regardless of this, we stand firmly by Israel’s side” – but in view of the ban, this seems to be more lip service.

French education minister wants radicalised pupils removed from schools

Following the murderous terrorist knife attack at a school Arras, Northern France, by a radicalised former pupil of Chechen origin, National Education Minister Gabriel Attal wants to be able to remove pupils suspected of having been radicalised from educational establishments.

The minister said on October 19 that he, together with the ministries of justice and of internal affairs, are “working on measures” to get such pupils out of schools. The Arras attack on October 13 by the 20-year-old ex-pupil left one teacher dead and several people wounded.

When teaching staff “report students who they think are potentially a threat … because of the words they have (said) or the actions they have taken, the principle of protection I want to apply to all our students and staff means that we have to find a solution other than sending them to school,” Attal said on French radio station France Info.

“We need to think about specialised structures that can accommodate them,” he said, adding: “I will take all the precautions of exclusion” that are necessary.

Attal said he “deeply believes in the role of education in reducing radicalisation”. He added that “in certain situations, the level of recruitment within the family, and sometimes of the associations that draw around it, is such that we are not fighting on an equal footing”.

He concluded that schools must continue to be a “sanctuary”.

“We must always be safer inside the school than outside.”

Nonetheless, the minister reaffirmed his commitment to educational content as the most crucial tool in combating radicalisation.

Earlier on October 19, interior minister Gérald Darmanin had spoken on BFMTV of “more than 1,000 minors with active files for Islamism”.

Attal said: “There are about a thousand minors being watched” but added that some are being monitored because a member of their family is under surveillance.

“We are in the process of assessing” the number of potentially radicalised minors, he added, estimating this number at “several dozen probably”.

The perpetrator of the Arras attack, Mohammed Mogushkov, was in France illegally.

Scottish PM wants to resettle 1 million Palestinians to the EU

Scotland’s First Minister Humza Yousaf has insisted his country is ready to receive its share of Palestinian refugees and urged the rest of the European Union to do the same.

Scotland’s leader made his remarks at a party event of the socialist Scottish National Party (SNP) on Thursday, where he called on the international community to “commit to a refugee program for the people of Gaza.”

“Currently, 1 million people are displaced in Gaza,” he told party members, adding that these people need “security and a place of refuge.”

Yousaf is the first Muslim politician to head one of Britain’s major parties, and the first Muslim to be head of government of a state in Western Europe. He has been SNP leader since March when he was installed into the position after Nicola Sturgeon resigned. He, like U.K. Prime Minister RIshi Sunak, was not voted into his position.

‘Resettlement plan for the people of Gaza’

In his speech, which was repeatedly interrupted by applause, the 38-year-old demanded “urgent steps” from the British government, saying “it should immediately create a resettlement plan for the people of Gaza.” He said that those “who want to leave the territory” should be able to do so and urged Western governments to facilitate humanitarian corridors for refugees.

“Scotland will be the first country in the United Kingdom to offer safety and sanctuary to these people who are suffering from the terrible attacks,” he added.

Supporters of Hamas, the proscribed terrorist organization that governs the Gaza Strip, are currently protesting throughout Europe, including in London, Berlin, and Paris, with some protests devolving into open battles with the police.

Yousaf, whose family originates from Pakistan, is married to an Arab woman whose parents live in the Gaza Strip.

His in-laws have been caught up in the current conflict with Israel and have been unable to leave the territory under siege from Israeli air strikes.

Watch: London’s Met Police Threaten to Arrest Activists for Displaying Children Kidnapped by Hamas

London’s Metropolitan Police has come under heavy criticism for reportedly threatening to arrest activists from the Campaign Against Antisemitism if they refused to turn off electronic billboards featuring images of children believed to have been taken hostage by Hamas terrorists in Israel.

This week, the Campaign Against Antisemitism group has been driving a convoy of vans with electronic billboards displaying kidnapped children throughout London in order to raise awareness about the barbaric acts of the Palestinian Hamas terror organisation during the October 7th terror attacks in Israel.

On Thursday, the campaign group shared footage on social media purporting to show the Metropolitan Police Force ordering the group to switch off their billboards or face “breach of peace” charges after they were confronted by pro-Palestine protesters. The group claimed that they were also ordered by police to leave central London.

Campaign Against Antisemitism chief executive Gideon Falter said: “How on earth could police stop people in central London, in our capital, from showing the pictures of children kidnapped by a terrorist organised banned by our government?”

Falter described the incident as “one of the most disturbing” experiences he has had since working for the charity for nearly a decade. The CAA said that it is considering legal actions against the London police force for its “abysmal failure to uphold our rights and protect British Jews.”

In response to the footage posted on social media, the Met said in a statement: “We have watched the video and we understand why this has caused concern. The officers were in the area because of a vigil that was happening nearby organised by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign.

“We have reviewed the body-worn video of the officers involved to establish the full sequence of events. This exchange happened at around the same time as the vigil came to an end and the priority of officers was the safety of everyone involved and those nearby.

“We will be making contact with the Campaign Against Antisemitism to discuss the matter further and update them on the work taking place across the Met to tackle hate crime.”

However, the campaign group said that the police’s response “does not hold water”, saying that the streets were “empty” when their vans were shut down for a second time, adding that Falter was “was physically restrained from speaking to the drivers.”

“We have seen all too well the fruits of the ‘work taking place across the Met to tackle hate crime’: demonstrations on our streets and incitement on social media surging, versus the rapid shutting down of our billboards,” the charity said.

“If you want to protect Jews, instead of telling us to go home and hide the faces of children kidnapped by a proscribed terrorist organisation whose founding charter calls for our annihilation, try letting us exercise our right to call for their safe return and arrest the protesters breaching the peace and intimidating our people. That’s how you ‘tackle hate crime’.”

The incident has spurred widespread condemnation of the police force. Baroness Claire Fox of the House of Lords said: “So shocking. [The] way cops throw around ‘breach of the peace’ threats [and] ‘for your own safety’ sums up my fears of expansion of policing powers/speech laws that can be used against any demonstrations and used to censor [and] in this case, outrageously silence those fighting antisemitism.”

Political commentator Emma Webb added: “The police have no teeth, so they only have an appetite [for] soft targets. Instead of clearing out those celebrating a massacre of Jews, they tell a Jewish org to turn off its billboard showing the children kidnapped by Hamas terrorists. [Met Police,] what is wrong with you?”

France: Muslims planned the murder of people who spoke ” negatively ” about Islam

The terrorist threat on French territory is gradually increasing. Only four days after the attack on the Gambette high school in Arras, police officers from the Directorate General of Internal Security (DGSI) arrested a radicalised 16-year-old youth in the Seine-et-Marne department and took him into police custody. The minor, who was in contact with Romain T., an 18-year-old man of Chechen origin who was already in prison, had plans for a violent terrorist attack. According to information from the newspaper Le Parisien, the two individuals had planned an attack on people who, according to their own statements, had committed blasphemies against Islam. Romain T. allegedly came up with the idea for the plan after hearing a shopkeeper mention his religion in words he found offensive. The 18-year-old also wanted to attack people who were called “infidels”.

Romain T. was arrested this summer and charged with “criminal terrorist organisation” and remanded in custody in July. A source familiar with the case reports that this is a “very radicalised and very dangerous” criminal profile who has already been reported for making threats against teachers at his school for glorifying terrorism. The second suspect allegedly provided Romain T. with information in a social networking group that enabled him to identify a person who “spoke foully about Islam”. He was brought before an anti-terrorism judge on Friday October 20 to face charges. The youth is said to have already been remanded in custody.

According to a 2020 intelligence report by the DGSI, radicalised individuals from the Caucasian movement are now largely represented in the French jihad. “The radicalised members of this new generation are often very young and develop a jihadist dialectic that differs from that of their older fellow members,” it says.

‘They could have raped me’ – Italian woman’s story goes viral after she says 2 Arab-speaking men chased and threatened her in Milan

Margherita De Pompeis, a 21-year-old influencer on TikTok from Italy, told the story of how she prevented the attack of two foreign men in the city of Milan. In the video, which has nearly 7 million views, she describes how she was chased through the streets of Milan

“I have to make this video because the situation is getting out of hand here,” says the visibly upset De Pompeis.

“I was crossing Viale Bianca Maria, behind San Babila, to go to a friend of mine’s house. I was at the traffic light when I saw two non-EU boys dressed very badly, you could see that they weren’t good people, who started pointing at me and pointing at me,” she said.

The story has been widely covered in the Italian media, including in Il Messaggero and Corriere.

Voi ragazzi state attenti per favore. Lancio un grido disperato alle autorità affinché facciano qualcosa per risolvere questa situazione che ormai è sfuggita di mano. @milanobelladadio ♬ suono originale – MEG

De Pompeis recounted the attack, which occurred in the city center of Milan, saying:

“At that moment I was paralyzed; fortunately, I saw a taxi that was coming in my direction. So I stood in the middle of the road screaming to make the car stop. The two boys then started chasing me and shouting things at me in Arabic. Luckily, the taxi arrived and stood between me and them and let me in. He was my angel: without him, they would have raped and robbed me because that was their intent. The taxi driver was very kind, he took me home without asking me anything. He also told me that the night before he had saved another girl from a situation similar to mine in Porta Venezia. The girl explains that she wanted to publish the video to tell others to ‘not underestimate the problem, regardless of whether you are boys or girls.’”

In the description of the video posted to TikTok, the young woman then addressed the authorities directly: “Milan is a city with crazy prices, and unfortunately there are many people who cannot afford to always take taxis. Many kids don’t even have a driving license… Many will think that walking around in groups or during the day is safer, but trust me, it absolutely doesn’t change the situation… I’m making a desperate cry to the authorities to do something to resolve this situation.”

A rough translation of the woman’s account has also been posted to X by RadioGenoa, which has also accumulated millions of views.

Another video detailing the beating and rape of another Italian woman by five Pakistani men was also posted by the same X account.

Italian women have been increasingly victimized by foreign nationals, with the country bring subject to crime waves involving the rape of Italian women, including gang rape, involving foreign males that have made national headlines. As Remix News reported, during Prime Minister Girogia Meloni’s campaign, she responded to a video showing the rape of a Ukrainian refugee by a migrant male in the middle of the day.

“One cannot remain silent in the face of this atrocious episode of sexual violence against a Ukrainian woman carried out in daytime in Piacenza by an asylum seeker,” Meloni wrote on Twitter, which has since deleted the video that she originally shared.

“A hug to this woman. I will do everything I can to restore security to our cities.”

It is only one of many cases, with Italian teenagers being groped on a public train by up to 30 migrants last year, or the 18 Italian women groped by a group of migrant men in Milan during New Year’s celebrations.

In Italy, 40 percent of all rapes are committed by foreigners, who make up 8 percent of the population. Reuters acknowledged this statistic in a 2017 report about a spate of migrant rape attacks that year.
