Veteran comedian Rob Schneider cancels trip to Canada after Canadian Parliament honoured Hitler’s Nazi soldier

On Monday (25 September), Veteran comedian and Hollywood actor Rob Schneider, half-Jewish by blood, announced that he has canceled his upcoming trip to Canada in the wake of the Canadian Parliament honouring a Nazi soldier. The comedian/actor Schneider lambasted Canadian PM Justin Trudeau and dubbed the recent development as “despicable” and “outrageous”.

Launching a scathing attack on Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Schneider argued that Trudeau’s other tyrannical acts are insignificant compared to the recent one where he made the Canadian Parliament give a standing ovation to honour Adolf Hitler’s Nazi soldier, Yaroslav Hunka.

Taking to X, Schneider said, “I just canceled my trip to Canada. I just can’t…It’s beyond the pale. Trudeau’s tyranny against peaceful trucker protesters seems insignificant to this despicable and outrageous act of honoring one of ADOLF HITLER’S NAZI SS Soldiers by the Canadian Parliament. No words…”

It is important to note that Rob Schneider’s father is Jewish, the community targeted by Nazis during Hitler’s reign.

In another tweet, Schneider highlighted that the soldier, Yaroslav Hunka, who got the standing ovation from the Canadian Parliament, actually fought for the real Nazis, not the ones used as a label or slur for dissidents. He fought for Hitler who committed several war crimes including Jewish Holocaust.

In the tweet, he fumed, “Don’t you stupid f**king Canadians know THIS AS*H**E fought for the NAZIS?! Not what we call Nazis today. Like, the REAL Nazis! This guy fought for Hitler! Not like what we call people Hitler today. THEE Hitler! Like in actual Adolf Hitler. #DumbTwats.”

Notably, on 22nd September, the Canadian House of Commons gave a standing ovation to 98-year-old Yaroslav Hunka, a World War II Nazi soldier. It was done in the presence of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Interestingly, Yaroslav Hunka was a member of a SS unit established in 1943 by a high-ranking Nazi SS official. He fought for the First Ukrainian Division, originally named the 14th Waffen-Grenadier Division der SS (Ukrainische Nr 1), also known as the “Galicia” Division.

As per documented WW2 history, the 14th SS-Volunteer Division “Galicia” was a World War II Nazi Germany military formation made up predominantly of military volunteers with a Ukrainian ethnic background from the area of Galicia.

It is notable that SS was the main paramilitary group under Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party in Nazi Germany, and was primarily responsible for running Holocaust operations. 14th SS-Volunteer Division Galicia was made up of volunteers, which means that Yaroslav Hunka joined the unit on his own will, and was not conscripted.

Resultantly, the act of the Canadian Parliament honouring a Nazi collaborator has infuriated Jewish people, and their organisations, all across the world, who have come out openly to condemn this development and sought an apology from the Canadian Parliament, their Speaker, and their government. This includes the Polish ambassador to Canada who has also asked Canadian authorities to apologise for this episode.

In the wake of widespread outrage, the Canadian Parliament speaker apologised for celebrating a Nazi who killed Jews during WWII.

Amid an unwarranted diplomatic war with India, this humiliation is also costing dearly for Canada and it underscores the remark that the spokesperson of the Indian Foreign Ministry made regarding Canada becoming a safe haven for terrorists and extremists which is only hurting its institutional reputation at the global stage.

Through the latest act of honouring a Hitler’s soldier, an earlier track record of Canada giving refuge to Nazi soldiers is also coming to the fore.

‘Our inheritance has been turned over to strangers’

Image: Emma

By Raymond Ibrahim

All throughout Western Europe, Muslims are transforming former churches into mosques.  They are not doing this by force and conquest, as their ancestors once did, but legally: Europeans are selling or in some cases even donating these churches into becoming mosques.

In a video uploaded on Aug. 16, 2023, a Muslim man, while videotaping a church in the UK, said:

You’ll be excused to think that this is a church.  But as is the case across the UK, we’ve took it over.  It’s now, actually, a mosque, a masjid.  Christianity is depleting; atheism is unfulfilling; Islam is here and is here to stay.  The British people, they may not like it but as is the case with many things, there may be something which you don’t like which is good for you [Koran 2:216].  So, carry on making those churches for us. Keep them empty, we’ll buy them in a few years’ time and we’ll make them into a mosque.

The video continues by showing several other UK churches and cathedrals now turned into mosques.

While the abandonment of these churches is reflective of shrinking attendance, that, in itself, is not just reflective of shrinking numbers of Christians, but of growing numbers of Christians who see in churches nothing more than a building, one which, whether it stands or falls, has nothing to do with their “internal faith.”

Such nonchalance stands in stark contrast to how previous Europeans saw and understood church buildings — and their response to any Muslim who would dare suggest turning them into mosques.

Indeed, it was to liberate one particular church, the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem — which, built on the site of Christ’s resurrection, had been repeatedly desecrated by Muslims — that European pilgrims sacrificed everything and marched thousands of miles to fight and die in the Crusades.

In 1217, for example, a Crusades preacher paraphrased Lamentations 5:2 — “Our inheritance has been turned over to strangers, our homes to foreigners” — to express Christian outrage that the Holy Land and its many sacred sites and churches were in Muslim hands: “the Land of Promise,” he preached, “is our inheritance and the place where Christ was buried and suffered is our home. And this inheritance is given into the hands of [Muslim] gentiles… Now our holy inheritance is seized; the holy places are profaned; the holy cross is made a captive.”

Today, of course, almost every Western Christian would “cringe” at such thinking.  To them, churches are just buildings. All that matters is if one is “saved.”

Right or wrong, such thinking is reflective of the ongoing “abstraction” of Christianity — the transformation of it into, at best, a thought, an idea, to be preserved only in the individual Christian’s mind. Outward manifestations — in this case, church buildings — are meaningless.

Thus, if Christians once spent so much to erect massive cathedrals all throughout Europe — formerly booming with masculine voices of confident worshippers — today these buildings are the haunt of little old ladies lighting candles for their departed loved ones — that is, when these buildings are not actively being pawned off to exultant Muslims who transform them into mosques. In France alone, one church is “disappearing” — one way or another — every two weeks.

Self-professed Christians who see no problem with this, who care little for concrete manifestations of Christianity, should be mindful lest they abstract Christianity into oblivion.

European Parliament anti-Islamophobia event attendees slam France for abaya ban

Participants in an anti-Islamophobia event at the European Parliament have slammed France over its recent ban on Islamic dress in schools.

The event was hosted by the Parliament at the request of the Forum of European Muslim Youth and Student Organisation (Femyso), which the French Government claims has links to the Muslim Brotherhood, an Islamist organisation banned in numerous Middle Eastern countries.

Speaking at the event, Brussels-based journalist Shada Islam called on Muslim students to “use all democratic and legal means” to “be heard and defend their cause”.

She said that Muslims struggle against an image of Islam in France that was “very strongly marked by a colonialist and white supremacist mentality”.

The journalist is a member of the so-called Brussels so White movement that claims there are too few minorities in the European institutions.

She was responding to the concerns of one French Muslim student over the recent ban of the abaya, a form of traditional Muslim dress.

Hania Chalal, a former president of the Muslim Students of France Organisation, said the ban was a violation of the rights of Muslim women.

“We need to show that Europe cannot do without us,” Chalal added.

Present at the event was Eve Geddie, the director of Amnesty International, who called the abaya ban government “targeting of muslims”.

Amnesty International has also recently called on the international community to pressure the Islamic Republic of Iran to stop its mandatory veiling of women.

France accuses Femyso of undermining its secular and universalist policies.

Such tension between France and European institutions is not new. In November 2021, a hijab-promotion campaign backed by the Council of Europe and the European Union prompted France to reprimand Brussels over its partnerships with Muslim associations allegedly linked to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Marlène Schiappa, a former French minister delegate, labelled Femyso as a “front for Islamism” and criticised the organisation for what she said was its aggressive stance towards France, not only the government but also French culture in general.

She added that she was bewildered at there still being so many “organisations that we want to see dissolved in France, and that are [already] dissolved”, before calling on Europe to take more responsibility regarding the situation.

Gérald Darmanin, France’s Minister of the Interior, also wrote to the EC, denouncing Femyso’s activities, noting that the association has received €210,000 in funding from the European Union since 2007.

Femyso is closely associated with the Muslim Brotherhood, a connection unveiled by an investigation by the French Marianne magazine. The group serves as a transnational offshoot of the Union of Islamic Organisations of France (UOIF), originally founded by members of the Muslim Brotherhood in the 1980s.

Those at the Femyso event repeatedly referred to the revelations of ties with Islamist organisations as “state sponsored smear campaigns”.

France’s resolute stance and repeated warnings to European institutions about Femyso’s activities appear to have yielded few concrete results so far.

Zelensky and Trudeau Give Soldier Who Reportedly Fought for Nazi Germany a Standing Ovation

Screen grab youtube

The Canadian parliament, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky have been reported to have given a standing ovation to a reported former member of a Nazi military division.

Following addresses to the parliament in Ottowa on Friday from both Trudeau and Zelensky, the Speaker of the House of Commons Anthony Rota prompted a standing ovation as he honoured a “veteran from the Second World War who fought for Ukrainian independence against the Russians and continues to support the troops today even at his age of 98.”

“His name is Yaroslav Hunka… he is a Ukrainian hero, a Canadian hero, and we thank him for all his service,” Rota continued before a second round of applause.

In the caption of a picture published by the Associated Press showing Zelensky and Trudeau standing and applauding Hunka, the news wire service identified Hunka as a former member of the “First Ukrainian Division in World War II”. The division is also known as the 14th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS (1st Galician), a division comprised mostly of Ukrainian volunteers after being established by Nazi Germany in 1943.

Despite the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg in 1946 concluding that the Waffen-SS was guilty of “many massacres and atrocities in occupied territories,” the government of Canada in 1950 decided to allow Ukrainians who served in the Waffen-SS to be admitted into the country from the UK. “These Ukrainians should be subject to special security screening, but should not be rejected on the grounds of their service in the German army,” the Canadian cabinet said at the time.

In a Ukrainian language post on the blog Combatant News attributed to Hunak, he claimed to have joined the Nazi military division in 1943. The post also featured pictures of himself during the war, including his apparent training by the SS in Munich.

Ivan Katchanovski of the University of Ottowa described the celebration of Hunka as “truly unbelievable” and an “epic scandal“, questioning: “Did anyone in parliament or Zelensky realize that he served in [the] Waffen SS division?”

Although the 14th division of the Waffen SS has not been specifically found guilty of war crimes, it has been tied to several atrocities, including a reported massacre in Huta Pieniacka, a Polish village that had served as a shelter for hundreds of Jews.

Professor Katchanovski has also claimed that members of the Ukrainian division have been implicated in “numerous mass killings”, which included “mass executions and other similar massacres of Ukrainians and Jews in Pidhaitsi and Ustyluh and Poles in Edwardopole, Korchunky, Ameryka, Smoligow, Laskow, Chlaniow, and Wladyslawin, and participation in the suppression of the Warsaw uprising in 1944.”

A former officer of the SS Galacian Division, Michael Karkoc was also accused by the Associated Press of having been involved in the burning of villages, including women and children, and having lied about it to move to the United States.

The division was also addressed personally by Heinrich Himmler, who reportedly told them in 1944: “Your homeland has become more beautiful since you have lost – on our initiative, I must say – the residents who were so often a dirty blemish on Galicia’s good name – namely the Jews.

“I know that if I ordered you to liquidate the Poles, I would be giving you permission to do what you are eager to do anyway,” the SS commander added.

Ukraine has come under international scrutiny for celebrating the Waffen-SS division, including bi-partisan condemnation from both Democrat and Republican congressional lawmakers in 2018.

For his part, President Zelensky, who has Jewish heritage, has also criticised his countrymen for honouring the division in 2021 when a series of parades were held across the country, including in Kyiv, with attendees waving the division’s flag and wearing its insignia.

Zelensky said of the marches: “We categorically condemn any manifestation of propaganda of totalitarian regimes, in particular the National Socialist, and attempts to revise truth about World War II.”

It is unclear if Zelensky, who has faced criticism over his military’s use of the neo-Nazi tied Azov battalion, was made aware of Hunka’s role in the division prior to his celebration in the Canadian parliament.

The Canadian government has also previously come under criticism over ties to Ukrainian Nazis, with Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland having been reported to have attempted to cover up the fact that her grandfather, Michael Chomiak, was a Nazi propagandist, despite previous claims from her office that such claims were Russian disinformation.

Europe’s journalists surrender to Islam

Constantin Schreiber, screen grab youtube

by Giulio Meotti

When a taxi driver, after dropping him off at home, said “now I know where you live” to the famous Tagesschau journalist Constantin Schreiber it was time to stop. He will no longer comment on Islam. Schreiber won’t say anything more. He will be like the three little monkeys: See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.”

“I won’t write any more books on the subject, I will refuse requests from talk shows, I won’t do it again,” Schreiber told Zeit editor Giovanni di Lorenzo. Schreiber had written investigations and criticized sermons in mosques and Koranic schools. On August 29, during a conference at the University of Jena, Schreiber had a cake thrown in his face by left-wing activists. “I don’t want that negativity in my life”, says Schreiber, whose book about a Muslim woman who is about to become chancellor in 2050 caused a sensation. It deals with the “creeping Islamization of Germany”. Since I won’t talk about Islam anymore, Schreiber says, some might “celebrate and open bottles of sparkling wine.”

Schreiber learned Arabic and moderated the program “Marhaba – Arrival in Germany” during the refugee crisis. For this he was awarded the Grimme Prize. His “crime”? He addressed the role of mosques in Germany. Enough for some left-wing groups to defame him as “persona non grata”. Activists who claim to defend tolerance and diversity do exactly the opposite. They condemn those who think differently and promote a climate of fear and self-censorship.

Schreiber doesn’t want to end up like Molly Norris, the Seattle Post cartoonist who became a “ghost.” She changed her name, she wasn’t seen around anymore. Nothing more is known about her after the FBI placed her in a witness protection program.

And she certainly doesn’t want to end up with a bulletproof vest, with which she has to speak in public in Germany to the Egyptian sociologist Hamed Abdel-Samad.

And censorship works in full force when journalism denies it even exists.

“Whether it is Islam, climate or immigration: the costs of freedom of expression can be enormous,” writes the Neue Zürcher Zeitung. Bild also comments on Schreiber: “Abandoned and threatened, Schreiber retreats to protect his private life and family. It’s easy to understand and yet it’s devastating. Because Schreiber’s fate proves that anyone who raises their voice critically puts themselves in danger. He cannot count on any support ”.

A valuable self-criticism arrived in Welt from the Green MP Max Lucks: “The discourse on Islam is rejected, ignored and misunderstood by progressives. We try by all means to prevent a critical debate from taking place. And we shoot ourselves in the foot because Islamism is spreading in society.”

And who knows if German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier also meant this when visiting a mosque in Cologne in the same hours as Schreiber’s announcement he said: “Islam has taken root in our country”.

Like Schreiber, dozens of personalities have abandoned the field. Islam, as Ross Douthat writes in the New York Times, is the only taboo in the West. And it is no coincidence that this incredible self-censorship takes place while Europe is massively settled by populations from the Islamic world.

Dutch-Turkish novelist Lale Gül after a deluge of death threats said: “I will no longer write about Islam. Absolutely not”. After the publication of a novel critical of her own culture, Gül had become the target of intimidation and threats. But we are in Holland, where the publishing house Blossom Books has just removed Muhammad from Dante’s Inferno in a new translation of the Divine Comedy.

In France there are 120 people under police protection due to Islamist threats. Hamed Abdel-Samad’s book, “Islamic Fascism”, had been purchased by the Parisian publishing house Piranha and there was also a release date on Amazon. But at the last moment the publishing house engaged in self-censorship.

And the Sorbonne canceled a conference by anthropologist Florence Bergeaud-Blackler, who was placed under police protection after the publication of a book on the Muslim Brotherhood.

And when Le Parisien, the newspaper of the French capital, published an article about an academic fired in America for showing an image of Muhammad, the magazine did so by obscuring Muhammad’s face.

Not bad, for being the homeland of laicité.

If South Park self-censored on Muhammad, director Roland Emmerich cut a scene about the destruction of Mecca from the “2012″ film (on the other hand he destroys the Vatican). Too afraid of a fatwa.

When Czech artist David Cerny created a sculpture of Saddam Hussein as a shark, the mayor of the Belgian town of Middelkerke thought it was “controversial” and banned it. He didn’t want to “irritate Muslims”, says the Wall Street Journal.

Even a Turner Prize-winning British artist, Grayson Perry, censured himself: “The reason I no longer attack Islam in my works is that I have a real fear of ending up with my throat cut.”

Even the winner of the last English Booker Prize, Shehan Karunatilaka, self-censored on Islam. “I had written a story about a radicalized teenager for a collection I was preparing and my wife suggested I cancel it. All it takes is one person to get offended and suddenly you’re an Islamophobic writer.” And when he heard about the attack on Rushdie in New York, he had no doubts: “My wife said: ‘You have two small children, take that story away.’”

For our media gatekeepers, there is really only one thing “unsayable” today: Islam. My profession reeks of cowardice and hypocrisy.

French rapper Mohamed Sylla aka MHD gets 12 years in jail for murder

The rapper was convicted in a 2018 murder case (Images via AFP)

On Saturday, September 23, the French rapper Mohamed Sylla, popularly known as MHD, was sentenced to 12 years in jail in a 2018 case. A 23-year-old man named Loic K was killed in a gang fight involving rapper MHD and several others in Paris on that fateful day.

MHD’s Mercedes knocked down the 23-year-old victim, who was subsequently assaulted and stabbed to death by a mob comprising around twelve people on July 5th, 2018, in the 10th arrondissement (administrative district) of Paris.

Five of MHD’s co-defendants were also sentenced to prison for the murder, receiving sentences ranging from 10 to 18 years for what authorities described as a fight pertaining to “gang rivalry”. While three others were acquitted, all those convicted had pleaded not guilty. The convicts, including rapper MHD, have 10 days to appeal against the ruling.

Known for his “Afro trap” music, rapper MHD persisted in claiming innocence in his concluding words before the court. “From the beginning, I have maintained my innocence in this case and I will continue to maintain my innocence,” MHD said.

While the French rapper denied being at the site of the murder, claiming that the evidence against him was based on gossip, a nearby homeowner filmed the incident from his window in the summer of 2018, and the car was instantly recognised as MHD’s. Meanwhile, other witnesses identified MHD because of his haircut and a jumper.

A day after the murder, the car was discovered abandoned and burned out in a parking lot. Juliette Chapelle, a lawyer representing the victim’s family, stated after the verdict, “A judicial truth emerged despite the law of silence.”

Notably, the prosecutor had sought an 18-year prison sentence for Mohammad Sylla, acquittal for two of the defendants, and sentences ranging from 13 to 20 years in prison for the others.

The murder took place in the Cite des Chaufourniers, an estate in the neighbourhood where MHD worked as a pizza delivery boy and continued to visit despite becoming a music star later on.

Italy: Very serious interference from Germany on migrants

Nicola Molteni , federsicurezza.it|

Interior Undersecretary Nicola Molteni on Saturday denounced the “very serious interference” from Germany in relation to its funding of a German NGO carrying out rescue operations in the Central Mediterranean and disembarking the rescued migrants and refugees in Italy.
“Berlin must provide clarification on the funding to Sos Humanity,” Molteni told ANSA, referring to reports that the German government has allocated 790,000 euros to the charity.
“It is an act that limits our country’s sovereignty: a state that funds a foreign entity to bring migrants to Italy,” he said.
“On a more general level, I expect the European Union to impose the principle of responsibility of the flag state: if a German (rescue) ship positions itself in front of Libya it must take rescued migrants to Germany,” continued Molteni.
“We will insist with Europe on this issue,” he added.
On Friday sources at the office of Premier Giorgia Meloni voiced “great astonishment at the news reported by ANSA according to which a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of the Federal Republic of Germany has announced imminent funding to NGOs for a project to assist migrants on Italian territory and a project of ‘rescues’ at sea”.
“The Italian government will immediately contact the German authorities for clarification,” the sources said.
It later emerged that the NGO to receive the funding is SOS Humanity, which operates rescue vessels in the central Mediterranean.
The NGO itself said it had been allocated 790,000 euros.
Separately, the lay Catholic Sant’Egidio Community charity said on Friday had signed a fresh deal with Berlin to fund migrant activities in Italy, as part of a years-long relationship.

Criticising Mohammed or Islam is NOT Islamophobia – but Labour Wants to BAN ALL Criticism

Our guest on this week’s Whittle is Tim Dieppe, Head of Public Policy at Christian Concern and author of an upcoming publication on free speech & Islamophobia. Tim & Peter discuss “Islamophobia Revisited” (https://www.civitas.org.uk/publicatio… ), a new report by Civitas’ Hardeep Singh. Tim reveals the disturbing ways in which criticism of Islam is being silenced. All Parliamentary political parties except for the Conservative Party have adopted a broad and “problematic” definition of Islamophobia which links it with racism and makes any legitimate criticism of the religion “Islamophobic”. In Islamophobia Revisited, Hardeep Singh conducts a thorough investigation into how Islamophobia is defined by local authorities describing a ‘panoply’ of different approaches and definitions. In response to a large-scale Freedom of Information exercise, Singh discovers that one in seven (15.6 per cent) local authorities in England have adopted a definition of ‘Islamophobia’ described by the government as ‘not fit for purpose’. Singh finds 22.7 per cent of Welsh local authorities and 25 per cent of Scottish local authorities have adopted this disputed definition. The adoption of a disputed definition of Islamophobia has ‘taken on a life of its own’ according to Singh, who raises concerns over conflating race with religion and claims that ‘Islamophobia is a type of racism.’ Singh raises concerns over an officially recognised definition of Islamophobia, something he says ‘conflates race with religion’ across local authorities. Singh provides compelling evidence that not enough due diligence or scrutiny has been conducted by local authorities over their approach to defining Islamophobia as a form of racism, with concerns over free speech ‘largely dismissed.’ Singh claims the adoption of a disputed definition of Islamophobia prevents ‘an honest conversation about public policies relating to faith or religion, or basic historical truths’, and recommends that local councils do more to protect free speech and avoid critics of religion or religious practice being described as ‘racist’ and potential prosecution under hate speech laws. UK: Migrant admits he ‘feels like a king’ as he’s housed in luxury 4* asylum hotel

Over 100 migrants are residing at Macdonald Kilhey Court, Wigan
 Macdonald Kilhey Court

An Afghanistan migrant who allegedly fled from the Taliban, now resides in a luxury four-star hotel in the UK where he “feels like a king”.

Amir Khan, 20, crossed the border ten days ago and is already “amazed” at the standard of luxury at the hotel he is staying at.

He is currently residing at the Macdonald Kilhey Court, Wigan, alongside over 100 other migrants.

The hotel is renowned in Wigan for its luxuriousness and is surrounded by 10 acres of stunning grounds.

The UK is currently spending £8million a day on accommodation for asylum seekers.

Khan, who only two weeks prior was slumming it in Calais, said he was shocked at how nice the accommodation provided was.

The 20-year-old was unaware of the Bibby Stockholm barge but said he would have been happy to live there if that was the option given to him.

“All I hope for is somewhere safe. Somewhere warm and dry, yes, and clean, but mostly safe,” he told the Daily Express.

“Two weeks ago I was living in the bushes in Calais. This was not safe. When I got to the hotel I could not believe it. I was so happy, it really amazed me.

“This hotel has so much luxury. It has much more than I expected. It is safe and warm and comfortable. It made me feel like a king.

“The food is very good, breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is tea and coffee, mango juice and other juices.

“It is in a British style but it is all halal because almost everyone in the hotel is a muslim.

“I did not know there was a swimming pool or a gym. We are not allowed to use them. I would not expect to use them. It is no problem.”

He said the hotel was full, with many visitors having to share a room.

Khan fled Afghanistan two years ago when the Taliban seized control of the country, twenty years after they were outed by US troops.

His family’s business was burned down by the Taliban and they captured his uncle.

The 20-year-old fled to Pakistan out of fear for his own life.

He said: “I did not want to come here. I want to be with my family in Afghanistan. it is my home. It is where my best people are.

“But if I go there I lose my life. Now, my family do not know where I am but they can hope I am alive. If the Taliban take me my family knows I am dead. This is better.”

Since then, he travelled to Calais slowly by foot, walking the astonishing 4750 miles to France.

Upon arriving in France, Khan was left unsure of his next move, as he did not have £3,000 to pay to people smugglers to take him over the channel.

On September 12, Khan noticed a group of migrants heading to the beach and proceeded to join them.

He said: “I followed through the sand dunes where they got to a boat on the beach. It was still dark. They started pumping it up. I grabbed a pump and started to help, everyone thought I had paid and was part of the group so I just kept busy and helped as much as I could.

“We carried the boat down to the water and there were no police. We were stuck on the beach for 45 minutes because the engine would not start. All we saw were two people. One was a fisherman going home and the other was walking a dog.

“At last the engine started and we set off but I asked if the authorities knew about us? If they don’t know, we could sink and drown, no-one would rescue us, but if they know they will save us.”

Khan describes how he called the French coastguard who proceeded to follow the boat until it made it into UK waters.

He was then processed in Dover before being sent to the luxurious hotel in Wigan.
