Six illegal migrants who took advantage of a power failure to escape from a detention center in the French city of Nîmes on Saturday evening remain unaccounted for.
French police have launched an investigation into the incident, which saw a group of migrants in an irregular situation set fire to 14 rooms, leading to six individuals escaping the complex and evading the authorities. A further 11 migrants were taken to the hospital following the incident.
It is understood that a power failure at the administrative detention center on Saturday led to a number of detainees ripping out surveillance cameras, smashing doors, and torching rooms in three areas of the facility.

They used mattresses to start the fires, resulting in two out of five areas of the administrative center sustaining significant damage.
The administration estimates the damage caused that night alone at €250,000.
Since then, an investigation has been underway, targeting two men in particular, aged 20 and 22, who were detained that evening at the administrative center.
The two suspects were taken into custody on Thursday morning by authorities in charge of the investigation. Both deny all responsibility for the incident.
They were expected to appear before the Nîmes magistrates’ court on Friday to face charges of “damaging property by dangerous means” and “endangering the lives of others.”

An Islamic youth organisation was permitted to register as a charity, despite having been accused of antisemitism.
The Cricklewood Muslim Youth Trust (CMYT) posted a tweet in December 2021 warning Muslims: “Keep away from the enemies of Allaah the Jews and Christians [sic]”.
The group, which aims to advance Islamic religious practices, was not registered as a charity at the time of the post, which has since been deleted.
The charity regulator has been subject to criticism for allowing the CMYT to register earlier this year.
The Campaign Against Antisemitism said it was “extraordinary” that the Charity Commission “should consider such an organisation fit for charitable status” while the National Secular Society said: “Something is wrong at the heart of charity law.”
The Charity Commission said: “Organisations that meet the legal test for charitable status must, by law, register with the Commission.
“In the case of the Cricklewood Muslim Youth Trust, we determined that the organisation meets this legal test… and should be registered.
The CMYT did not respond to a request for comment.
The Green Lane Masjid and Community Centre Google maps
A Birmingham mosque with a long history of hosting controversial speeches recently awarded millions in taxpayers’ cash has had its grant paused after a GB News investigation.
The Green Lane Masjid and Community Centre in Birmingham was awarded £2.2million from the government’s Youth Investment Fund this month to expand its youth services.
The grant, from the Department of Culture, Media and Sport, was awarded for the development of a new youth centre offering programmes on leadership, critical thinking, arts and culture and “empowering marginalised communities,” according to BirminghamLive.
Distribution of the funds is being managed by Social Investment Business (SIB), but GB News understands that funding to the Green Lane Masjid and Community Centre has been paused while the SIB investigates allegations raised by this broadcaster about the mosque’s links to controversial and extremist speakers.
The funding pause comes amid a GB News investigation that revealed that the mosque has a lengthy record of hosting controversial speeches that denigrate women, promote homophobia, and praise extreme punishments such as chopping off the hands of thieves.
The Green Lane Masjid featured in the 2007 documentary titled Undercover Mosque where preacher Abu Usamah was filmed saying “take that homosexual man and throw him from the mountain.”
The sheikh also said that women were intellectually “deficient” and that “it takes two witnesses of a woman to equal the one witness of the man.”
He still preaches at the taxpayer-funded Green Lane mosque.
GB News understands that some due diligence checks were conducted before funds were awarded to all beneficiaries, including the Green Lane Masjid and Community Centre.
But this broadcaster has reviewed footage of recent lectures given by Green Lane-linked cleric Abu Usamah, where he made further shocking claims.
In a lecture in Leeds last year, the preacher criticised people campaigning for women’s rights in Iran amid the regime’s crackdown on the hijab.
He said: “Every so many years we always get these kinds of people, who jump up and down about the huriya [freedom] of the woman.
“Well Islam came and freed the woman, when she practises Islam correctly and when we practise Islam correctly.”
The preacher defended how Islamic societies like Iran treat women while attacking the West.
He said: “In the West, the woman is a piece of lahm [meat]. You want to sell some shoes, a car, tires, toothbrush.
“Just put a woman on there with no clothes on. So we’re not going to get on the back foot and be defensive and apologise.”
Preacher Abu Usamah told another Green Lane Masjid audience in September 2019 that he supports the Islamic punishment of chopping off the hands of thieves before scorching the stump with boiling oil.
He added that he believes that this punishment is an effective deterrent: “We are going to do that in the Muslim world.
“That’s what they used to do in the Muslim world, and in some places they still do it.
“And I believe in that. And I believe that it is a deterrent, as well. And I won’t bite my tongue for anyone about ‘Oh, look how barbaric that is,’ because if we were to start to talk about … the way they do punishment here in the West is worse.”
In another lecture also uploaded in 2019 given at Green Lane Masjid titled “Dealing with the RSE [Relationships and sex education]/Shamima Begum Issue”, Abu Usamah referred to Begum — who fled Britain to join terror group ISIS in 2015 aged 15 — as “just a little girl, she’s a baby.”
He criticised ISIS and terror group Al-Shabaab as “a scourge on our Ummah.”
But in the same talk hosted by a mosque set to receive millions in taxpayers’ cash, Usamah condemned the Government’s relationships and sex education efforts.
He said: “Don’t teach my kids homosexuality. Don’t teach my kids about lesbianism and other than that.”
The preacher added: “Don’t teach my child homosexuality because I don’t condone it.
“The same way you don’t want to hear me teaching your children about plural marriage and the blessings of plural marriage [referring to the Islamic practice of multiple wives].
“You don’t want to hear that. But you want to shove down my throat these issues that go against the fitra, go against my religion, go against your religion.”
Despite the charged content of this speech, the Green Lane mosque is being funded by the Government to set up new educational youth services.
Abu Usamah is not the only controversial speaker to be hosted by the Green Lane Masjid.
Mustafa Abu Rayyan, an imam and the mosque’s head of outreach, said on a podcast uploaded by Green Lane Masjid earlier this year that women must be “obedient” to men and that a wife must “serve her husband” and “fulfil his physical desires.”
He added that “this is the whole point of marriage.”
Abu Rayyan also lamented how modern feminism meant that some Muslim women “struggle with things like a man marrying a second wife,” referring to the Islamic practice of having multiple wives, adding that feminism meant that “they struggle with the idea that they have to obey their husband.”
Footage has also emerged online of lectures given at the Green Lane Masjid where an unnamed speaker describes the process for stoning a woman to death.
He says: “According to the Shariah again, when it comes to women, there must be a hole dug in the earth and she must be covered up to half of her body so that her [Islamic term for clothing] does not appear.”
It is not known when this footage was broadcast. The context of the footage is also unclear, but the Green Lane Masjid and Community Centre did not offer further information when questioned by this broadcaster.
Dr Alan Mendoza, executive director of the Henry Jackson Society, said: “It is quite right that serious allegations of this nature are investigated properly.
“Obviously this involves suspending funding until a conclusion is reached. It will be extremely embarrassing for the SIB programme if the allegations are found to be correct and it will once again raise questions about how funding of this nature works.”
Brendan Clarke-Smith, the Conservative MP for Bassetlaw, said: “I congratulate GB News in bringing these serious allegations to the public’s attention.
“Funding from the taxpayer must be subject to due diligence and strict oversight, especially as we want to make sure it’s promoting good community projects and not promoting those who seek to cause further divisions in society.
“If this is the case, then we should be clear and say that ‘I’m afraid there is no money’.
“In a statement, the Green Lane Masjid and Community Centre said that it “has been in the forefront of civic engagement, community integration and interfaith collaboration in Birmingham for many years.
“We promote sincere adherence to Islam as a religion of peace and we are also deeply committed to supporting those in need in our local community.
“We take pride in upholding the laws of this country, and we reject violence and extremism unequivocally.”
It added: “In accordance with these values, we developed a comprehensive Speaker Anti-Extremism Policy and Declaration in 2019. Everyone who preaches or speaks at Green Lane Mosque – including our own senior leaders – is required to sign it and abide by it.
“We will not hesitate to take firm action if the policy is breached, and in some cases we have removed historical material from our online platforms that contravenes our values or has the potential to mislead, offend or harm.”
It continued: “The new Youth Centre we plan to build will provide a safe space for all young people locally – Muslim and non-Muslim – in an area where gang crime and anti-social behaviour are major concerns.
“It is the only project in the Greater Birmingham area that is in line to receive support from the Youth Investment Fund. It will be a place where the creative arts can flourish, where young people are nurtured to succeed, and where mental health support is available.
“It is a further addition to our extensive community projects, which also include a food bank and food kitchen, domestic violence case workers, help with accessing national hardship funds, established sporting activities for women and young people, health clinics, job fairs and much more.
“None of the imams who preach in the mosque will be involved in our new Youth Centre’s youth engagement.”
A 30-year-old man has appeared before Dublin District Court charged in connection with a stabbing yesterday.
The assault happened at the north end of Grafton Street, close to the junction with Wicklow Street, in Dublin city centre at around 9am.
A man in his 30s suffered multiple stab wounds and was taken to St James’s Hospital for treatment.
His injuries have been described as non-life threatening.
Mohamed Akrouf, with an address at Lower Rathmines Road in Dublin, was arrested shortly after the incident, at the St Stephen’s Green Luas stop, at 9.20am yesterday.
Mr Akrouf, who is originally from Algeria and moved to Ireland last November, is charged with assault causing harm and possession of a knife.
Garda Martin O’Rourke, from Pearse Street Garda Station, told the court the accused made no reply when he was charged and cautioned.
Defence solicitor Danica Kinane made an application for bail for her client, which Garda O’Rourke objected to due to the seriousness of the charges.
Judge Michèle Fina refused the bail application due to the seriousness of the charges.
She remanded Mr Akrouf in custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court on Friday.
Judge Finan also granted the accused free legal aid.
The German federal government has approved plans to liberalize the country’s gender laws, which will enable citizens to legally change their gender through self-certification without any need to obtain a professional assessment.
The Self-Determination Bill was approved by the federal cabinet on Wednesday and will allow those wishing to legally change their first name or their gender to do so by filing with the registry office without any further formalities.
Currently, individuals who wish to formally change their gender must obtain professional assessments from two experts and seek permission from the court. However, this will all be scrapped under the new plans, which still require parliamentary ratification.
Minors from the age of 14 will also be able to change their forename and legal gender provided they have approval from their guardian. However, should this be contested, minors will reserve the right to challenge their guardians’ decision in the family court.
Parents of those under the age of 14 will also be able to apply to the registry office to have their children’s gender legally changed.
“With the Self-Determination Act, we are realizing the right of every person to have their gender identity respected and treated with respect,” said Federal Family Minister Lisa Paus of the German Green party.
The opposition CDU, however, has expressed concerns over the legislation with the party’s family policy spokeswoman, Silvia Breher, warning that “the law is presumptuous, especially with regard to children and young people, and disproportionately interferes with constitutionally protected parental rights.”
She added that young people during puberty “could make hasty decisions about gender reassignment” and called for better safeguarding for young people.
Meanwhile, the hardline conservative Alternative for Germany (AfD) party is considering legal action against the law, with party leader Alice Weidel warning that it effectively makes the state the legal guardians of minors by allowing the courts to overturn decisions made by parents. Weidel argued that parental rights in relation to sensitive issues such as gender should be “untouchable.”
The move by the federal government follows other liberal European nations such as Spain, where the socialist government in February passed legislation to allow 16-year-olds to change their legal gender without any medical evaluation.
The race to replace outgoing globalist Prime Minister Mark Rutte in the Netherlands will now include one of the chief architects of the European Union’s green agenda as the fight to implement Great Reset-style climate initiatives heats up.
A battle over the future of Dutch farming will be waged at the ballot box in November, with veteran Eurocrat Frans Timmermans being selected to lead the coalition of the left-wing Labour Party and the communist-spawned GreenLeft party. Timmermans, who resigned from his Brussels-based posts as the EU Commission Vice President for the Green Deal and the European Commissioner for Climate Action to fight the race, was selected as leader by members of the two leftist parties this week, broadcaster NOS reports.
Son of a diplomat, the Limburger politician has long been involved in the expansion of EU authority over the national sovereignty of the bloc’s member states, having been a central figure in drafting the European constitution as well as the Dutch referendum on its ratification. He has also been a vocal critic of conservative states countries as Hungary and Poland for contravening the neo-liberal agenda of Brussels, not to mention his at-times bizarreopposition to Brexit.
More recently, Timmermans has turned his focus to imposing the EU’s Green Deal. He has vigorously pursued this agenda to such an extent that he has even earned the nickname the “Climate Pope” of Europe.
From his Brussels perch, Timmermans has also been central in trying to force the Great Reset-style restrictions on the farming sector in his home country of the Netherlands. In March, it was revealed that his former deputy, Diederik Samsom, had written to Prime Minister Mark Rutte urging him to follow through with controversial plans to buy out thousands of farms and shut them down by force if they refuse.
Therefore, the upcoming election will likely see a battle between the green agenda globalist forces and the populist pro-farmer factions in the country, specifically the populist Farmer-Citizen Movement (BoerBurgerBeweging/BBB), which became the largest party in the Dutch senate earlier this year on the backs of the tractor protest movement against the EU’s climate restrictions.
After being founded just three years ago, the Farmer-Citizen Movement has become a force to be reckoned with within Dutch politics. However, at present the combined support for the Labour and GreenLeft parties would give Timmerans an advantage of 17 per cent to the BBB’s 14 per cent.
It is the first time that the Labour Party and the GreenLeft have joined together in a national election, although they already do act in the senate as a bloc. In a blow for Timmerans, the Socialist Party and the Party for Animals refused this week to join his election coalition.
Yet the Farmer-Citizen Movement may have suffered an even larger blow this week, with the popular centre-right Pieter Omtzigt forming a new political party, the New Social Contract, to fight for votes in November’s election. According to a survey conducted by broadcaster RTL, over half (56 per cent) of those who had planned on voting for the BBB were now considering supporting Omtzigt’s New Social Contract instead.
A former member of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA), Omtzigt has largely been a critic of the European Union and has argued for the Netherlands to be free to opt out of certain EU programmes. The leader of the Farmer-Citizen Movement, Caroline van der Plas has so far expressed praise for Omtzigt and expressed a willingness to form a potential coalition.
“I look forward to further cooperation, and I assume that. We have many common ground and it is important that politicians from the east of the country are represented in national politics. The wise men are from the East,” van der Plass said, adding: “I’m very happy that he’s participating. He’s the best MP we have.”

Countering the widely peddled rhetoric, Shellenberger shared a report tweeting that “politicians and George Soros-funded NGOs say “hate incidents” are rising, but they are not. He added, “The data show the opposite: higher-than-ever and rising levels of tolerance of minorities. The reason they’re spreading hate misinformation is to justify a draconian crackdown on free speech.”

A report published by “Public”, titled “Soros-funded NGOs demand crackdown on free speech as politicians spread hate misinformation”, dismantled this largely left-liberal narrative saying that an “increase in the reporting of hate offenses is different from an actual increase.”
“For police to classify something as a hate offense, which is either a crime or “incident,” which is a hate act that is not criminalised, no actual proof or evidence is required beyond somebody simply calling it that. The (Ireland police themselves admit that the threshold for perception required for this is “very low.”
Talking about hate crimes in Ireland and the narrative around it, the report says:
“Open Society Foundations-backed NGOs are pushing censorship agenda in Ireland and Scotland that includes police searches of homes, phones and computers.
All of this hype about hate is a pretext for the effort by Irish politicians to pass a strict new “hate speech” law, which would make it a criminal offense to possess allegedly “hateful material” — on paper or digitally — on your person or in your home. If police raided your home in search of such content and seized your devices, the law would carry a potential penalty of a year in prison and a €5,000 fine if you refused to hand over your passwords to authorities.
In the words of government politicians themselves, the law is designed to “restrict freedom” and to “make it easier to secure prosecutions and convictions.” What’s more, the bill reverses the burden of proof under law — if accused of planning to distribute alleged “hate” material, the onus is on the accused person to prove their own innocence.”
India is no stranger to this “hate speech” rhetoric run by footmen of George Soros and the Open Society Foundation. Faber had questioned him about the recent tweets about George Soros, where Elon Musk drew a parallel between Soros and the fictional comic villain character Magneto and said that George Soros hates humanity.
Who is George Soros?
George Soros is a Hungarian-American businessman and a self-proclaimed philanthropist who had vowed to ‘fight nationalists’ and conservative governments worldwide, which he often refers to as ‘authoritarian governments’. During the course of his life, if there is one thing George Soros has hated the most, it is India and its nationalist government led by Prime Minister Modi.
Through his Open Society Foundation, which started its operations in India first in 1999 by offering scholarships and fellowships to pursue studies and research at Indian institutions, Soros has made great strides in creating disorder within India. In the name of running philanthropic activities, the left-wing international organisation led by Soros began to spread its tentacles across the country through his active support to anti-India elements operating inside India.
Through his network of NGOs, George Soros has cultivated a class of intellectuals who work resolutely towards opposing the Indian state, especially the nationalist government led by PM Narendra Modi. It all started in 1995 when George Soros contributed the initial seed fund to set up the Media Development Investment Fund. The objective of the Soros-funded not-for-profit investment fund was to invest in ‘independent media’ in challenging India.
Soros-funded anti-India nexus is running abroad just as connivingly as within India and Rahul Gandhi himself has been found the company of Soros’ stooges. During his tour to the US in June this year, Rahul Gandhi was seen sitting with so-called experts and think tanks which included Sunita Vishwanath, who has been termed a Soros proxy by US-based HinduACTion.
In Marh, Simran Jeet Singh, a Soros Equality Fellow with the Open Society Foundations of Geroge Soros, claimed that the Indian government has ‘abused the fundamental human rights’ and imposed severe restrictions on the citizens including freedom of assembly and freedom of expression to nab one Singh. He was referring to the Punjab police’s manhunt for Amritpal Singh, a Khalistani terrorist.
