European eco-crazies encourage recruiting ‘arrestable’ members for planned mayhem campaign in the states

By Monica Showalter

Election time is on, so what better than for Europe’s eco fanatics, the toddler-like people who have been blocking highways and throwing their food on Europe’s art masterpieces, to take their show on the road to the states come summer?

According to the Daily Mail:

Europe’s top climate activists are planning a ‘large-scale civil disobedience campaign’ of highway blockages, hunger strikes and disruption at ‘federal properties’ in the US in August, DailyMail.com can reveal.

Leaders from Extinction Rebellion (XR) and other European groups known for their large-scale disturbances are rapidly expanding their US-based franchise, Declare Emergency, to create mayhem on this side of the Atlantic.

In a videoconference, which DailyMail.com attended, the Europeans taught their US allies how to raise money, boost membership and recruit scores of ‘arrestable’ members to spearhead the most aggressive protests.

“Arrestable” members? One can just imagine.

What we have here is a group with money that’s planning in advance to shut the U.S. economy down through its odious road protests in the name of going green. They’ll call it “peaceful” protests, but they’re exactly the opposite of that in that the highway blockages will be done through force. Thousands of workers — the ones who don’t make enough money to afford city rents or homes, and who must live on the outskirts of the cities — will be kept from their jobs, costing companies millions of hours of productivity, at a time when they’re desperately trying to get workers back to the office. People who need to get to job interviews, or to the hospital for the birth of a baby, or for urgent surgery, or for an ongoing heart attack or stroke or gunshot wound, or else to someone’s deathbed, will be blocked from attending to their time-sensitive needs. Good luck if your house catches fire and you need a fire truck. Good luck if you need an ambulance or a cop. Someone is going to get frustrated and run a car through them, leaving angry protestors then claiming the mantle of martyrs, the media fawning as they claim it.

That’s just roads. They could also target power plants, gas stations, art galleries, and anything else they think will cause disruption and grab a headline.

Who is bankrolling this garbage and are they from Russia or China or some other place that detests the U.S.? We already know that Vladimir Putin has bankrolled green groups to encourage the shutdown of Europe’s and North America’s fossil fuel industry, (which benefits him) and let’s just say that these days he’s motivated. As for China, they’re acting in the most aggressive way they’ve ever acted. They’re showing plenty of motivation, too.

Or maybe they’re just crazies acting on their own. We all know that they watched closely the antifa riots of the summer of 2020, timed for the U.S. elections, turning parts of cities like Portland and Seattle into unliveable dumps. They saw the weak response from the local authorities, and the even weaker response from the district attorneys, who continuously let these criminals off scot-free, even after, in one incident, they set a U.S. courthouse on fire, and in another, they chased police out of their own police station and then set it ablaze. The federal response has also been weak, with the Pentagon literally resisting orders to restore order.

Nobody was punished for much of any of that, so obviously, the message has gotten out that they can do their own encore over this summer as electiontime approaches and get away with it.

They’ve gotten lots of practice in Europe, they know there are a lot of non-working young people ensconced in mom’s basement to offer some fun and games to, and now they’re going for the big league in the states.

The only losers here are the law-abiding American people who just want ‘normalcy’ and to be able go about their daily lives without being bothered by lunatics of any cause. Will they cave to this crap and vote for the Democrats who permit it? Or will they finally find a way to counter this even if the authorities do nothing? Someone has got to come up with a solution for these coming disruptions.

Trial of Muslim who murdered and burned body of 15-year-old ‘whore’ girlfriend pregnant with his child is a milestone in France

The trial of a man accused of murdering a 15-year-old pregnant schoolgirl in France began on Monday at the court for minors in the department of Oise, just north of Paris.

Shaïna, the victim whose name has been changed, was murdered on Oct. 25, 2019. She was pregnant and had been a long-time sufferer of sexual abuse. She has become one of the symbols of violence against women, living in a neighborhood where rumors and injunctions against young women are even more prevalent than elsewhere.

After having been sexually assaulted in 2017 at the age of 13, had only just begun to overcome her trauma in 2019 and had been returning to a normal life when her charred body was found in a burned-out garden shed.

Shortly afterward, rumors began to swirl that the murderer was a man named Driss after local police in the commune of Creil received several anonymous calls denouncing the young man. A few days later, one of Driss’ friends spontaneously went to the police station to give evidence: Driss had confessed to him that he had killed Shaïna. The suspect had allegedly told his friend, “I smoked her.”

The friend explained that Driss had invited Shaïna to the garden shed with the intention of killing her and that he had hidden a kitchen knife, a pair of gloves, and a bottle of petrol in the shed. He wanted to kill Shaïna because she was pregnant with his child and he didn’t want to have a child with her.

Held in custody since his arrest, Driss is said to have bragged about the murder to two of his fellow inmates. His comments reveal the contempt he feels for Shaïna. When asked by a cellmate why he was in prison, he reportedly replied “proudly with a smile that he was there because he had killed his girlfriend, who was a whore he had impregnated, and that he didn’t want his mother to find out because he was a Muslim.”

He is quoted as saying that he would rather “get 30 years than be the father of a bastard, be the father of a son of a bitch.” At the start of his detention, he continued to rap from his cell, posting content on Instagram, as if nothing had happened.

Driss has maintained his innocence from the outset, “against all the evidence,” as Shaïna’s family lawyer points out.

When the Charlie Hebdo magazine investigated the case, other young women said they were afraid of suffering the same fate as Shaïna. Many of them live under the permanent control of certain boys’ gazes and the culture they represent, condemned to not being able to dress as they like and forced to practice absolute discretion if they have a boyfriend. Hovering over them is the fear of falling into the sexist category of “easy girl,” an expression that only exists for women.

Tour de Farce: Strict COVID Restrictions Including Masks, Social Distancing Return for Riders in Cycling Classic

Organisers of the Tour de France cycling classic have drawn up a host of new coronavirus protocols for the 2023 edition of the event in a return to impositions for riders and team officials not seen since the height of the pandemic.

The new rules include – but are not limited to – impositions on riders, team staff and officials who are set to wear face masks at sign-on and in the team paddock, while riders will be banned from signing autographs, eating out or taking selfies with fans.

Riders will also not be allowed to leave their hotels once sent there for the night.

The Reuters news agency first revealed the new COVID-19 protocols, while similar, more stringent rules were introduced for stage 1 of the Criterium du Dauphine race last week.

At last year’s race, riders and team staff were allowed to leave their hotels, with some opting to visit local restaurants.

Access to the team paddock, where the buses are, was also open to media and VIP guests, until the organisers introduced stricter measures halfway through the race.

Now everything has changed.

In an interview last week with L’Équipe, former world champion Julian Alaphilippe said he was the only person wearing a mask on his flight to the Critérium du Dauphiné but he was still happy to comply with orders.

“I’m still being careful,” the Frenchman said. “It may be too much but we have to remain vigilant, I prefer that to missing the Tour de France.

“Cycling remains the only sport where you have a lot of controls: it spoils the party a bit, but we have to get used to it. In order not to stay at home in July and throw away all the sacrifices we’ve made, we must continue to stay in a bubble.

“Maybe the measures are too heavy, but I really want to ride the Tour.”

Organisers of the July 1-23 Tour, Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO), have not officially confirmed the raft of protocols will be put in place.

France: : A man suspected of terrorism who threw pages of the Quran around was arrested for a knife attack, one person injured

Rue Meslay, Paris, Ralf.treinen,  CC-BY-SA-3.0

A man was arrested last night in his flat on Rue Meslay in the third arrondissement of Paris after a knife attack on Rue Saint Martin, Valeurs actuelles reported, confirming a report by Actu17.

The perpetrator, Andy A., a 31-year-old man of African descent with French nationality, is already known for “repeated death threats based on race, ethnicity, nation or religion” and is close to Islamist movements, a police source told Valeurs actuelles.

In the early afternoon, at 3pm, the man was lurking outside a hairdressing salon on Rue Saint Martin. When he threw cut-out sections from a Quran on the ground, three men came out of the shop to subdue him.

The attacker pulled a knife from his plastic bag and struck one of the men with two blows, hitting him on the inside of the right thigh and on the back, before fleeing.

The victim, a Pakistani man aged 50, was treated by the emergency services and taken to the Georges Pompidou Hospital. His prognosis is no longer life-threatening.

The identification of the perpetrator by a neighbouring shopkeeper led to the deployment of a major police operation involving the Brigade anti-criminalité (BAC), the Brigade de recherche et d’intervention (BRI) and the Groupe de soutien opérationnel (GSO) in the vicinity of his home.

The assailant was arrested by the Paris Security and Intervention Company (CSI 75) at 8.45pm, shortly after returning home. Andy A. was taken to the Sainte-Anne hospital following a psychiatric examination by the UMJ doctor.

BLM Co-Founder Claimed Cousin Was Killed by Cops, He Died of Cocaine – “They’re trying to George Floyd me”

Cops and Cocaine both start with a ‘C’.

Patrisse Cullors, the co-founder of the racist hate group Black Lives Matter, claimed that her cousin, Keenan Anderson, “was killed by LAPD in Venice on January 3rd, 2023”.

“LAPD has killed three people this year. One of them is my family member. Keenan deserves to be alive right now, his child deserves to be raised by his father. Keenan we will fight for you and for all of our loved ones impacted by state violence,” Cullors ranted.

A $50 million lawsuit was filed. Ben Crump showed up with dollar signs and hate in his eyes. The media passed along this disinformation in the hopes of stirring up more violence.

There were pictures of Keenan looking clean cut and the media was constantly reminding us that he was an “English teacher”. The stories repeated claims that he was tased “while he begged for help”.

In reality, Anderson had crashed a car, committed a felony hit-and-run, tried to steal another car, and ran from police.

Presumably a trained Marxist, like his cousin, Anderson began shouting on cue, “They’re trying to George Floyd me.”

And it turned out that Anderson did get ‘George Floyded’ but with a different drug of choice. Like Floyd, Anderson was killed by the drugs in his system, not by the police trying to restrain him.

The cousin of Black Lives Matter’s co-founder died of an enlarged heart and from cocaine use hours after he was tased repeatedly by police in Los Angeles earlier this year, according to the LA County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The LAPD didn’t kill Cullor’s cousin, cocaine did.

BLM claims the drug war is racist and opposes any enforcement of drug laws so really, Cullors’ own organization helped kill her cousin.

‘Germany needs new elections’ – Right-populist AfD party’s hits record high of 19% as immigration crisis grips country

Alice Weidel, AfD, screen grab https://ok.ru/

The Alternative for Germany (AfD) continues its steady march higher in the polls, now reaching an all-time high of 19 percent in the latest INSA poll conducted for the Bild newspaper.

The results have sent yet another “shockwave” through the political and media establishment, with politicians from both the left and the moderate Christian Democrats (CDU/CSU) fiercely debating what is behind the rise of the AfD. The party is known for its strict anti-immigration stance, opposition to sanctions on Russia as well as German weapons being sent to Ukraine, and criticism of green energy policies being promoted by the left-liberal ruling government.

However, the term “shock” being used to describe the party’s rise in the polls is being rejected by the AfD’s Bundestag faction leader, Alice Weidel.

“Every three days, the Bild has to announce an ‘AfD survey shock.’ That’s not a shock, that’s called democracy. And it shows that people have finally had enough of paternalism, cost increases and asylum chaos. Germany needs new elections!” wrote Weidel.

Bild has routinely published headlines, along with other newspapers, documenting growing alarm in the German political establishment over what has been the steady rise of the AfD in the polls, especially in the east of Germany. Now, according to the latest INSA poll, nearly one out of five Germans would vote for the party that every major party has vowed never to form a coalition with. A poll from state broadcaster ARD showed, just a week before, that the AfD had reached 18 percent. The new raft of polls showing the AfD hitting new highs shows the party’s growth is no fluke.

The party is not only at 19 percent, but is actually tied for second place in the country with the ruling SPD. Weidel is now repeatedly calling for new elections, pointing to an ARD poll showing that only 20 percent of Germans are satisfied with the federal government, while 79 percent are dissatisfied.

“The dwindling approval of the traffic light government shows very clearly that the Germans are no longer willing to accept that their interests are disregarded by politicians,” said Weidel.

Germany’s main political parties have now taken turns blaming each other for the continued rise of the AfD. Chancellor Olaf Scholz has labeled the AfD “the bad mood party” and says that when the situation improves in Germany, which he claims it will, AfD’s support will drop.

Weidel responded that when Scholz describes the AfD as “the bad mood party,” it shows the “complete unworldliness and aloofness” of the SPD leader. She said the AfD has sustainable concepts in the areas of energy, social affairs and migration.

“The voters, who are not unsettled by clumsy defamation of the only opposition force, see that too,” she said.

Meanwhile, the secretary of the SPD parliamentary group, Katja Mast, said: “The AfD was, is and will not be a ‘normal’ party. They want to undermine our democracy and tolerate right-wing extremism. It fights our democracy where it can.” She added: “We must not be driven crazy by the AfD agitators and certainly not allow ourselves to be distracted. All democrats have one task — to take a firm stand against these democracy-destroyers and not adopt their methods.”

The CDU has offered what has been described as a “simplistic” message, claiming efforts to make the German language “gender-neutral” is driving support for the AfD.

“With every gendered newscast, a few hundred more votes go to the AfD. Geographical language and identitarian ideology are no longer just quietly rejected by a large majority of the population. They are perceived as intrusive,” wrote CDU leader Friedrich Merz.

However, the Welt newspaper, which is usually seen as pro-CDU, has rejected this assertion, writing that the country’s mass immigration problem is at the core of AfD’s growth.

“CDU leader Merz received widespread criticism for his Twitter statement on gender language as driving votes for the AfD. Welt author Thorsten Jungholt does not see gender as the main cause, but migration policy,” wrote the publication.

Merz has also reiterated that his party will continue to rule out all cooperation with the AfD.

The CDU, however, is the party responsible for the era of mass immigration under Chancellor Angela Merkel. This reality may provide the party with an incentive to avoid the issue as much as possible, especially when addressing the AfD party, which takes a far more hardline position on immigration than the CDU.

“A small tip for Merz, Lang, Scholz and company. It is not gender topics,” wrote one user. He then posted two links to articles involving knife crime.

Merz also appeared on ZDF and ARD and labeled the AfD as “xenophobic” and “anti-Semitic,” with AfD’s Weidel responding that it is “encouraging to see that constant attacks on the AfD” cannot shake the party’s support among the population “and the continuously growing trust in our political work.”

She added: “No political campaign by the old parties will keep us out of the political debate. We will continue to do everything we can to ensure a safe, prosperous and free Germany.”

As Remix News reported last week, there are a number of key issues that are likely contributing to the growth of the AfD, and immigration is one of them:

Germans are becoming increasingly receptive to the AfD’s positions on mass immigration as the left-wing government moves to liberalize immigration laws and naturalize millions of foreigners as German citizens, a move that would greatly benefit these left-wing parties at the polls. Germany has seen record population growth, with nearly 1.5 million migrants arriving in 2022. So far, this number shows no signs of slowing in 2023, as over 160,000 migrants arrived in the country in the first three months of the current year.

The costs of mass immigration are also slowly becoming hard to ignore, as schools become chaotic and understaffedhousing prices soar due to more competition, and serious crime involving foreigners continues to plague the country. The German government argues that mass immigration is necessary to save the country’s budget and pay for pensions, but figures show that the government plans to spend €36 billion in 2023 alone on migrants for housing, integration, and social benefits, undercutting this argument significantly.

Austria’s main center-left opposition party has reversed the result of its weekend leadership election, announcing that a computer error originally led to the wrong candidate being declared the winner

Austria’s main centre-left opposition party on Monday reversed the result of its weekend leadership election, announcing that a computer error led to the wrong candidate being declared the winner.

Andreas Babler, the mayor of the town of Traiskirchen, outside Vienna, becomes the Social Democrats’ new leader as the party tries to turn around its fortunes ahead of a national election expected next year.

At a party convention on Saturday, Hans Peter Doskozil – the governor of the south-eastern Burgenland province and a figure better known to the public – had narrowly been declared the winner.

At a hastily called news conference on Monday, the head of the party’s electoral commission, Michaela Grubesa, announced that it was in fact Mr Babler who won, taking 317 votes to Mr Doskozil’s 280, the Austria Press Agency reported.

It’s really important that there are no question marks left, so that we can move forward with certainty

Andreas Babler, leadership candidate

Ms Grubesa said that a recount had taken place on Monday because one vote was missing from the original total.

In the process, party officials discovered that “the result was reversed” on Saturday due to an error that occurred when votes were put into a spreadsheet, she said.

Ms Grubesa apologised to Mr Doskozil and argued that the party does not need to hold a new convention to ratify the result.

Mr Babler said he would ask for the votes to be checked again. “It’s really important that there are no question marks left, so that we can move forward with certainty,” he was quoted saying by the daily newspaper, Kurier.

The 50-year-old apologised for the impression his party had left in recent weeks and pledged to work on a “complete comeback of social democracy”.

Mr Babler is to the left of Mr Doskozil on issues including migration. Traiskirchen, where he serves as mayor, is home to the biggest refugee reception centre in Austria.

The Social Democrats have led many of Austria’s post-Second World War administrations but last served in government in 2017.

In Austria’s last parliamentary election in 2019, it won 21.2% of the vote – far behind the conservative Austrian People’s Party, which currently governs in a coalition with the environmentalist Greens.

They are currently polling in second place behind the far-right Freedom Party, which has benefited from voters’ frustration with rising inflation. The Freedom Party has used its signature hardline rhetoric on immigration issues to gain support in recent months.

The party’s leadership election came after discontent mounted with its previous leader, Pamela Rendi-Wagner, who was assailed for a perceived lack of vision and for an inability to translate public dissatisfaction with the government into more support.

Rivals parties mocked the Social Democrats’ spreadsheet hiccup.

“Those who can’t organise an election won’t win any either,” Douglas Hoyos, a member of the centrist NEOS party, wrote on Twitter.

No, Africa has not rejected the West

Wikimedia Commons, Enchanting Travels, CC-BY-SA-4.0

By Monica Showalter

Spiked! is a magazine I like, and Joel Kotkin is an ace writer.

But in his observance about what’s going on in Africa for Spiked magazine, he got the framing of one fact a tad off-kilter:

The Western democracies appear united in their support for Ukraine, but they may also be losing the bigger, more consequential battle for the loyalties of the developing world. Virtually no developing country – including democracies like India, Brazil, Nigeria and South Africa – has chosen to take steps opposing Russia’s aggression (in fact, South Africa may have joined Iran in sending weapons to Moscow). This is a stark reflection of the West’s waning influence.

The West is losing not because the developing world wants to genuflect to Vladimir Putin, or to his liege lord, Xi Jinping. Instead, we are seeing a growing disconnect between Western ‘values’, including on critical issues like food and energy production, and the needs of developing countries, many of which have struggled since the pandemic.

All true. What’s more, greenie hokum is identified as a principal culprit:

It’s not that Africans are indifferent to their environment. It is simply that, as Nigerian vice-president Yemi Osinbajo has noted: ‘No country in the world has been able to industrialise using renewable energy.’ Banning fossil fuels just means that developing countries will struggle to follow in the footsteps of the developed world, notably those in East Asia.

Fundamentally, the green movement represents the worldview of rich-nation elites who now feel able to pivot towards expensive alternatives. In contrast, India, the most important and potentially powerful developing country after China, has made no secret that it plans to develop coal and other fossil fuels as part of its drive to industrialise.

The West expects the rest of the world to implement green-energy requirements through various mechanisms and channels such as development aid, financial support, bilateral and multilateral agreements, and investments tied to ESG (environmental, social and governance) requirements. However, what is ignored by these rich nations is that climate change is not considered a pressing issue by Africans. According to polling conducted by Afrobarometer, a pan-African research network, the most pressing issues facing Africa are unemployment, health and education.

In other words, as Kotkin and his co-author, Bheki Mahlobo, observe, these countries need growth.

They don’t need greenie virtue-signaling. They don’t need lectures, and they certainly don’t need development aid. It’s growth or beat it.

That’s where a lot of us here in the West would question this detail of the thesis.

Is greenie energy really what most of us in the West want? The greenie idea, propagated by billionaires in their private jets and globalist bureaucrats at their multilateral conferences, may be coming from the West, but they’re a wealthy elite subset of the West, along with their allies in universities, among suburban women, and among ignorant young people. They’re all enamored of these nonsensical ideas, some of which, ironically, originate from third-world intellectuals who hate the West. These characters who blame and hate the West for their own failures can be found by the dozens in the writings of V.S. Naipaul, who couldn’t stand these leftists either. For years, they’ve been saying that the West is an exploiter, the West must stop growing, the West must pay reparations, the West must go green to restore paradise, and other Rousseauvian drivel.

The rest of us in the West loathe these ideas as much as the Africans do, and we are the West, too — the part of the West that like the West, that embodies the West, that holds the West as a desirable ideal. We may not have significant power now, but that may change. President Trump embodied this no-apologies love for the West, and these voters embraced it. The West was built on economic growth, and most of us in that camp would like to keep the growth coming because it works, and something that ain’t broke shouldn’t be fixed. Those who promote greenism either take economic growth for granted or don’t know where growth comes from. Like Joe Biden, they think we can shrivel our way to prosperity through virtue-signaling green.

Africans see right through that from living on the sharp end, and seeing how nightmares like Sri Lanka’s collapse happened under the globalist thumb, and it’s no surprise that they say ‘no.’

Kotkin and Mahlobo see a connection between the greenie agenda foisted onto the developing world by Western elites, and the developing world’s willingness to oppose the entire West, which has merit:

These factors have underpinned the developing world’s reluctance to embrace the Ukrainian cause. As the West puffs up its collective chest, China, an emerging financial as well as trade giant, has become Africa’s largest trading partner as well as its leading creditor. Russia has strengthened its trade relations with African countries through energy partnerships (including on nuclear power), military cooperation and technology transfers.

But the growing divergence between the developing world and the rich West also extends beyond just economics. Many ideals that have recently taken hold in the Western world will likely lead Africa, India and other developing countries to seek other partners. This includes such things as the rise of wokeness and an increasingly disdainful view of traditional values.

They are spot on as to the origins of the problem, too:

In a recent survey of cultural attitudes, it turns out that Protestant Europe is the most secular and ‘modern’ part of the world, followed by Catholic Europe and the English-speaking world. The West functions economically as an ‘empire’, but seems to detest its own culture and heritage. This has made it harder to defend those Western values which really are worth propagating – such as democracy, free speech, racial equality and sexual freedom. On the other end, the most traditionalist countries are located in Africa, the Islamic world and even Orthodox Europe, reflecting Russia’s imprint. In much of the world, Western liberal values seem sadly out of place. In some places they are outright resented, such as in countries like Ghana, Kenya and Tanzania, among others, where homosexuality is outlawed.

But what they call the West may not be the West, at least not all of it.

If Western elites hate the West, well, then they aren’t the West in any true sense. They are just globalist creeps. Africans are rejecting that bunch, but in their embrace of growth, they are actually embracing the West.

The MAGA movement succeeded and may still succeed in the U.S. based on its love for the West. Once its power is secured, there’s a high likelihood that Africa will embrace the West, as it did when President Trump was president, too. Trump was all about making America great again, but the message resounded throughout the developing world from it that it was their job to make their countries great again, too. Trump never had a problem with other countries for embracing authentic, non-Sorosian, non-greenie Western values — he often praised them. When he took America on its pro-growth path, accompanied by zero apologies for embracing Western values, he truly embraced the West, and the rest of the world came with him.

The same will happen naturally should Trump become president again. It’s not Western values that the developing world, including Africa, is rejecting, it’s just the deviant Soros version of Western values. Those distorted West-hating values are as loathed here as they are in Africa.

Paris requests waiver of diplomatic immunity of Lebanese ambassador on suspicion of rape

Lebanon’s ambassador to Paris, https://www.facebook.com/

French authorities on Monday, June 5, called for the lifting of the diplomatic immunity of Lebanon’s ambassador to Paris, Rami Adwan. The ambassador is under investigation for rape and use of force. “The Foreign Ministry had already spoken of lifting the diplomat’s immunity on Friday, June 2, saying it was “necessary to facilitate the work of French justice,” Le Figaro reported.

An investigation was launched against Rami Adwan after complaints from two former female embassy staff with whom he had a relationship. The first alleged victim, who works as an editor, had first reported to the police in 2020 that the diplomat had been violent against her. However, the 31-year-old did not want to press charges so as not to damage the reputation of the ambassador, who is married with children. She confirmed that she was in a “love relationship” with the diplomat, who “abused her psychologically and physically and humiliated her on a daily basis”.

In June 2022, the young woman filed a complaint for a rape committed in Rami Adwan’s private flat in May 2020. In her complaint, obtained by Le Figaro, she stated that she had refused sexual intercourse and that she had screamed and cried.

The second 28-year-old woman filed a complaint in February this year. She states that she quickly established a relationship with Rami Adwan after he arrived as an employee at the embassy. In the course of this relationship, the alleged victim, according to her, suffered physical violence, mostly after refusing sexual intercourse. According to her, Rami Adwan allegedly tried to run her over with his car after an argument at the Peace Forum in Caen in September last year. The diplomat also allegedly tried to suffocate her in her home by pushing her face onto her bed in December.

On Saturday June 3, the Lebanese government announced it would send a team of investigators to Paris to “collect statements from embassy staff” and question Rami Adwan. His lawyer, Karim Beylouni, stated that his client denied the allegations and had only had “love affairs with quarrels and separations” with the two women.
