Photos: Anybody buying that ‘Pride’ merchandise at Target?

By Monica Showalter

Late last December, while shopping at Target, I noticed something peculiar about the wrapping paper in Christmas clearance merchandise: Nobody was buying the gay pride-themed items, despite the fact that they were marked down to 90 cents a roll.

I wrote about that here.

Now that there’s been a hullaballoo at Target over its aggressive merchandising of LGBTQ+ promotional items, which drove its stock down for a period, and forced it to move its prominent displays in some outlets, how are those sales going?

Well, on a visit to Target on Balboa Avenue in San Diego on May 30, where the merchandise had just been pulled back from immediate visibility and the controversy was roaring, store traffic appeared normal, but there were lots of fully stocked LGBTQ+ merchandise displays throughout the store in different departments that didn’t seem to be drawing buyers. I took pictures of these here:

Might have been that the merchandise was just new, perhaps, and it was fairly early in the day, when store shelves tend to be less disheveled. Merchandise associated with smaller holidays — St. Patrick’s Day, etc. — never moves that fast.

But it’s gotten quiet now, and it’s been a couple weeks. The big Pride parades are over.

What’s known as seasonal merchandise, such as these Pride promotional items, tend to only get stocked at one go, or perhaps two. They don’t tend to be a daily stock at all. I know this, because twenty years ago, I used to work at Target.

On a trip to Target in Kearny Mesa yesterday, late in the afternoon, when merchandise is most likely to be tousled and depleted, and in many sections it was, I saw this:

Those are fully stocked store shelves of this merchandise, as if no one had touched them for weeks. Nobody wanted a Pride chew toy for their pet, nobody wanted Pride children’s wear, or transgender-themed children’s toys (I had to look up what Kidd Kenn was in the blue and pink box on the last in the sequence — a rap star), nobody wanted a Pride baking kit, nobody wanted LGBTQ+-themed liquor, or LGBTQ+ cups to put them in. Notice that the liquor is already on sale. Nobody wanted rainbow kid boots.

That’s shelf space that could have been used for merchandise that people wanted to buy, and in retail, efficient use of shelf space for things that sell is the name of the game. They pay people to determine those things. These items at Target Kearny Mesa were all displayed prominently at the front of the store, no back of the store decision for them. You’ve heard of “dead-naming”? Well, this was “dead-spacing.”

Now it’s possible they just stocked those store shelves with this merchandise that very day, but having worked there, I kind of doubt it. I recall that stocking, particularly of this kind of merchandise, was done at 5:00 a.m. Food, which has become a major profit center at Target since I worked there (I recall how they told us that they knew it would be), is observed stocked throughout the day. But ordinary merchandise is done early, and if it doesn’t get completed, it’s done through the morning.

That’s a best-case scenario for Target, that they just put that merchandise up which I don’t think happened. Based on the many departments with the same pattern showing, odds are, that merchandise has sat there for days, unsold, meaning, it will eventually hit the clearance racks for deep markdowns, and after that, be marked off for full losses.

Now obviously, much of this is the Made in China stuff that probably doesn’t cost them a lot to sell, and perhaps it won’t be that big a loss. It’s not like the electronics which is a significant cost and profit center. But unlike most seasonal merchandise, it is extended throughout the departments with every department seemingly having a store display of it, meaning, every department will see something subtracting from their bottom line given the shelf space as well as merchandise devoted to it.

Yes, it’s anecdotal. But San Diego is best described as a light blue city, not a deep blue city. Perhaps a few urban areas which still have their Targets (and have not been shut down for looting) are seeing sales of this merchandise. But that’s not where the bulk of their sales are. I can’t see this situation as being any better in suburban Targets in either California, much less the inland states where opposition to the merchandise was strongest.

The bottom line here is that while consumers aren’t really boycotting the place, they don’t seem to be buying the Pride merchandise either, as if they’re hooking on to support Pride like it’s a new holiday every bit as important as the Fourth of July or Thanksgiving, which do have merchandise that people buy. After all, it’s kind of a niche event for a small section of the population. If I wanted to support a gay friend at a Pride event or something like it, I would probably rather to go to Hillcrest, San Diego’s biggest gay neighborhood, and buy a Pride item there, since it would be sui generis, authentic to the place. I can’t see myself picking up some Pride merchandise at the daily Target store for what at best is a parade to go to, and which has already passed, or wearing it for the entire contrived month of Pride when that’s not my special interest and not even a true holiday such as Memorial Day or Christmas.

That raises questions as to who made this marketing decision that so badly misread Target’s customers and what they want to buy at Target. They’re bound to be taking losses from this, which could affect the company’s bottom line. It’s redolent of the marketing idiots who came up with the transgender influencer ads for Bud Light — indicating a total failure to understand and respect their customers.

This is obviously going to lead to losses for the company not even included in the earlier rumblings of a boycott. It’s just colossal stupidity. Over at corporate, heads should roll.

Biden unveils ‘bold plan’ to build a railroad ‘across the Indian Ocean’

Sky News host James Morrow says the US President revealed a “bold plan” for an engineering project which could rival the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

“A railroad, from the Pacific all the way across the Indian Ocean … if you thought running railroad track across quicksand was tough, try the ocean,” Mr Morrow said.

Sweden: Iranian welfare recipient stabs 9-year-old girl and her grandmother – He allegedly shouted “Allahu Akbar” while doing so

36-year-old Milad Salari is charged with the attempted murder of a nine-year-old girl in Gothenburg in March this year. The prosecutor submitted his application to the Gothenburg District Court today. Milad had repeatedly stabbed the girl and her grandmother in front of numerous witnesses.

At lunchtime on March 2 this year, a nine-year-old girl goes to the Filmstaden Bergakungen cinema to watch the film Bamse with her grandmother and grandfather. The girl is from Amsterdam in the Netherlands, where she and her parents live, and the group is waiting for the streetcar at Brunnsparken in Gothenburg.

Suddenly a man comes running, grabs the girl and stabs her several times with a knife. She suffers several severe knife wounds, including in the stomach, neck, back and chest. The girl’s grandmother, who tries to intervene, is also stabbed.

The police arrives in Brunnsparken and arrests the knifeman. His name is Milad Salari and he is already known to the police. Milad has already been convicted of a variety of crimes, including several thefts and two burglaries. He has already been to prison several times.

Milad Salari is from Iran – a country where he has spent most of the last year. He traveled there in the early spring of 2022 and did not return until seven months later, in September of that year. Iranian authorities reportedly tried to prevent Milad from returning to Sweden because he had not completed his military service in his home country.

Originally, there were reports that Milad should have shouted “Allahu akbar” when he stabbed the girl. These were allegations that were not part of the police investigation.

According to personal and police information, Milad lives on welfare, has no income and debts of over €30,000 .

Milad Salari suffers from a psychotic disorder, and according to his psychiatrists, he may have a schizophrenic disorder. On the day of the stabbings, he had visited a doctor with his mother.

– It was a good conversation, carefully recorded, and he was not psychotic, the psychiatrist said about the visit.

-His behavior was appropriate and there was nothing suicidal or psychotic or anything obvious like looking away and hearing voices or anything like that. He was fully engaged in the conversation. He was friendly and there were no problems. So it is very shocking to find out what he did later.

Polish women are being sexually assaulted by migrant drivers working for ride-sharing apps like Uber and Bolt. What’s behind the crisis?

Source: Polish police.

In Europe, criminal and terrorist acts committed by foreigners, such as shootings, driving into crowds with trucks, or using explosive devices, represent only a small portion of the overall problem with migration. Fortunately, Poland has not witnessed such a ruinous transformation of society. Unlike Germany, Polish authorities have not outwardly invited migrants associated with these acts, but it does not mean they haven’t infiltrated the country.

In March of this year, a Georgian taxi driver was arrested in Wrocław on suspicion of engaging in “another sexual activity,” which is sexual assault without attempted sexual intercourse, with a 23-year-old woman.

The events reported by the Rzeczpospolita daily in 2022 were also widely discussed in Poland. The newspaper discovered that there were 11 instances in 2021 where foreign Uber and Bolt drivers abducted women who had booked rides with them, took them to secluded locations, and sexually assaulted them or molested them. Law enforcement agencies recorded another nine such cases as of May 2022, but there could be many more unreported sexual assaults.

According to Rzeczpospolita, out of 20 confirmed cases, the perpetrators included six Georgians, two Uzbeks, two Tajiks, one Algerian, and one Turkmenistan citizen. The nationalities of the remaining individuals were not determined. The victims were from Poland and other countries, with the youngest being 16 years old.

Police authorities have noted a consistent pattern in the crimes committed by these drivers. Most incidents occur at night or in the early morning, targeting female passengers who request transportation from bars or nightclubs. The perpetrators anticipate their victims to be under the influence of alcohol, impairing their alertness.

Upon reaching the designated destination, the drivers often deviate from the intended route and stop the car on a secluded or side street. Subsequently, the attackers move to the back seat, subjecting some passengers to molestation while others experience sexual assault.

Polskieradio24.pl interviewed taxi drivers about the industry’s situation and discovered there are a number of dangerous conditions in place. After many Ukrainian citizens, including taxi drivers, left to fight in Ukraine, immigrants from the Caucasus took their place in Poland, leading to escalated problems, says one Polish taxi driver.

According to him, in the past, unlicensed Bolt and Uber drivers avoided official taxi stops on the streets, but now Polish taxi drivers do not want to confront these drivers, as it results in immediate aggressive reactions, making it impossible to argue or explain their wrongdoing. They resort to violence to solve problems, as revealed by the taxi driver.

The Road Transport Inspection, Police, and Border Guard inspect popular ride-hailing service areas in large cities. This led to the detention of five foreigners, including former Turkish, Azerbaijani, and Kazakh citizens. In autumn 2022, Border Guard officers in Warsaw verified the legal status of foreigners providing services through a mobile app. Four men were detained for illegally being in Poland and using forged documents. They were subsequently expelled from the country.

India: Former Apple employee from Karnataka alleges ‘Islamophobia’, Media plays it up without highlighting these important details: Here is what happened

Apple

A man called Khalid Parvez from Bangalore, Karnataka, who claims to be a former employee of Apple, took to LinkedIn to claim that he had quit the company after working there for 11 years without a job in his hand because of workplace and mental harassment arising out of Islamophobic comments that were made by his colleagues.

The linked in post by Khalid Parvez was posted by a Twitter account called @SaffronSalim, saying, “An employee who worked at Apple India for 11+ years in various capacities like Sales, Trade etc. had to face Abusive behavior & Islamophobic comments from colleagues. He reported it to HR & Employee Relations. And in the end nothing happened to those employees instead the Muslim employee resigned after months of working with HR & ER hoping there would be some action. When you think all the islamophobia, genocidal atmosphere happens at street & market level like what’s happening in Uttarakhand & your life is not impacted at corporate life. You are wrong”.

The post essentially linked it to the Uttarakhand protests after a minor girl was trapped by a Muslim man. The incident in Purola led to Hindus protesting against the incidents of atrocities against Hindus by the Islamists of Purola. Linking to this incident, the handle claimed that Islamophobia affects even corporates and not just the Muslims in Purola.

The post was then picked up by the mainstream media. Mint reported that Parvez was suffering from mental health issues because Apple dismissed his concerns about Islamophobia. While the Mint in its report added the full text of the LinkedIn post, Hindustan Times embedded the LinkedIn post. The headline of the Hindustan Times report read, “Apple employee in Bengaluru alleges Islamophobia, harassment; quits after HR inaction”.

The post by Khalid Parvez essentially said that he had, for the first time in 11 years, claimed that he was being harassed with abusive words. “But (first time in 11 years) I raised a grievance with HR regarding some serious accusations such as #mentalharassment#abusivelanguage, a possible #businessmisconduct#Islamophobic comments and also called out some dumb #managerialerrors that left me and my family living out of a suitcase for 4 months and then ended up causing a butterfly effect of #mentalhealth issues for all of us”, he said.

He further said that the company did conduct a 2-month inquiry but eventually told him that his allegations were unsubstantiated and there was no proof that was found.

Here is the full text of the post by Khalid Parvez:

Yes! I just resigned from the world’s most valuable company without a job in hand! I loved working for Apple It helped me and my family to re-establish ourselves after my father’s demise.

It made me a better professional, a better person. I ended up dedicating a third of my life to this amazing organisation. But (first time in 11 years) I raised a grievance with HR regarding some serious accusations such as #mentalharassment#abusivelanguage, a possible #businessmisconduct#Islamophobic comments and also called out some dumb #managerialerrors that left me and my family living out of a suitcase for 4 months and then ended up causing a butterfly effect of #mentalhealth issues for all of us.

I was asked to “trust the system” and was assured of a proper investigation.

All I expected to hear was a few words of compassion – empathising with what I went through and some measures to ensure that it doesn’t happen again

But after 2 months of supposedly “thorough” investigation the #employeerelations comes back with nothing but denial, insensitivity, counter accusations and ended up ridiculing my mental health and family issues.

Until then I assumed that my battle was against the few gentlemen that I accused. I wasn’t prepared that I would be met with some kind of legal deposition. It seemed like the ER Executive was hellbent on protecting the company and management’s interest – not the employee.

I was bullied with statements from the ER ridiculing my mental health saying “If you want Apple to acknowledge that your mental health issue’s happened because of Apple – then I’m sorry. We are not medical experts.” When I asked what if my mental health worsens – the ER replied saying “In that case, we would need a doctor’s certificate to ascertain that you are medically fit to work.” When I asked about the Islamophobic comments – the ER said that none of my statements/incidents were substantiated by other employees.

This is when I understood that there was never an investigation, this was some major corporate cover up. Now I had a tough choice. Either fight against these bullies or choose to handle a family emergency. I preferred to walk away as my family needed me more than my will to fight back against the corporate giant. I resigned the very next day.

The only reason why I am calling out these #hypocrites is to convey a message to my fellow #Apple Colleagues and all my fellow corporate victims. Please don’t be afraid to ask questions, please raise your voice whenever you see discrimination, misconduct, any kind of abuse or bullying – DON’T TRUST THE SYSTEM BLINDLY like I did (at least don’t trust the local system). Please escalate. Escalate beyond the regional/national teams. And please document each and everything. And I would ask all of you out there, has something like this happened to you? Has anyone here got stuck in this kind of corporate legal bullshit? How did you deal with it or come out of it? #Appletoo Ashish Chowdhary

What the media missed to highlight

While the media seemed keen on picking up a story that drummed up the trope of Islamophobia, they missed to highlight a few crucial points in the post of Parvez, which indicates that the trope of Islamophobia is possibly being used to even other scores.

First and foremost, it is important to note that Khalid Parvez has mentioned no specifics in his post. He has not mentioned what the so-called Islamophobic comments were and how he was mentally harassed by his colleagues. We have no idea what these comments were and why he apparently spiralled with mental issues.

The second most important point is that while he claims he quit because of Islamophobia, he himself admits that the company did conduct a two month long inquiry into his allegations and found no proof. Given that even in a LinkedIn post, Parvez has provided no proof or details of these comments, one is left wondering what these allegations really were. Parvez, according to his post, has quit the company and his LinkedIn post is meant to announce the same. After quitting, he has no compulsions to make his post vague and not given details of the so-called harassment he faced.

Further, in his post, he mentions that he had raised some concerns over “business misconduct” and certain managerial errors which led to him apparently “living out of a suitcase for 4 months”. He has provided no evidence or details of the alleged misconduct or managerial errors either, just like his charge of Islamophobic conduct. Even if we assume that there was some managerial conduct, it is entirely possible that the claims of Islamophobic conduct is being made to settle scores for the alleged managerial errors.

Fact remains that while the media will pick this story up and drum it up simply because it mentions Islamophobia, the LinkedIn post which was highlighted on Twitter first has no evidence and no specifics to be taken at face value.

Meghan & Harry: No reason for concern?

Image: Matt Brown via FlickrCC BY 2.0.

By Trish Randall

We can all agree (meaning all Americans, including the Heritage Foundation) that attention to the bits of fluff and beefcake that populate Hollywood is a waste of time.  Outside their job of entertaining us, there’s no reason to observe what they do with their copious amounts of free time, vast piles of cash, or cavernously uninformed opinions about matters of political, social, or environmental import.  As Americans, having no royal family, we tend to group non-head-of-state royals in the gossip-magazine category with movie stars.

Then there’s Harry and Meghan, residing where many neighbors are actors or otherwise in show business.  As much as I wish it weren’t so, their opinions and actions have the potential to affect all of our lives, and they show determination to do so.

The fact that the U.S. fought two wars not to have to take British royalty seriously is lost on the man.  He happily called our First Amendment “bonkers.”  Nice behavior from a guest.  An opponent of dangerous internet content, he’s on the commission of the Aspen Institute.  Known as “the mountain retreat for the liberal elite,” it hosted a 2020 (pre-Musk era) event where the head of Twitter’s Trust & Safety Council, Facebook’s head of security policy, and reporters from big outlets engaged in a hypothetical exercise to undermine documents showing Hunter Biden engaging in slimy and lucrative dealings with Burisma.  Basically, they were fleshing out a game to turn Biden crimes into Russian disinformation before the news had a chance to put its boots on.

In 2021, the foreign national, Harry, was made chief impact officer of Better Up.  This tech company provides job-focused life coaching to their employees, including a program for the U.S. Air Force (what? superior officers don’t provide enough training?).  Coaches, who aren’t licensed mental health professionals, have no obligation for privacy.  The company has been criticized by employees and ex-employees as a toxic workplace, full of secrets and burnout, followed with uniform salary reductions.

Since returning to her home state of California, Meghan’s done some troubling things.  Using personal cell phone numbers helpfully provided by N.Y. senator Kirsten Gillibrand, she called  every female Republican member of the U.S. Senate, informing them of the urgent need for paid child care.  This American citizen was not only bypassing office numbers to cold-call elected officials to influence federal action, but trying to up her prestige by deploying a foreign courtesy title (loaned to her as the spouse of a titled royal, not given to her in her own right), announcing herself by saying, “This is the  Duchess of Sussex.”

Meghan sued a photo agency, Splash, into bankruptcy over photos of her smiling and walking her dogs with a child-holder strapped to her chest.  She didn’t sue the creator of the (now defunct) Meghan Markle for President website, or the creator of the Queen Meghan image, available for purchase since her engagement.  Meghan claims that her statement, before they left the U.K., that “[w]e’re one plane crash away from the throne” was in jest.  I’m sure William and Catherine, Charles and Elizabeth were so amused.

Harry lost his lawsuit requesting the right to pay for the services of armed, currently employed officers of the Metropolitan Police (AKA Scotland Yard) — normally provided to actively working members of the royal family on an as-needed basis.  But he still has an active suit to receive those services at the public’s expense.  Winning the latter suit means any country Harry and his family set foot in would be required to provide and finance armed security (I’ve heard estimates of $6 million to $20 million a year).  If they continue to reside in the U.S., that would be us paying for armed security employees (the category of employees this pair, while in Canada, sent to fetch coffee and groceries).

If he wins the clearly unnecessary tax-funded security, Harry and Meghan would have Internationally Protected Person status, which means the person “is entitled pursuant to international law to special protection against attack upon his person, freedom, or dignity, and any member of his family[.]”  Imagine it being illegal to call this pair of maroons  pinhead grifters.  If Britain bestowed IPP status, it would also include access to integrated intelligence from the U.K.’s security services.  By accepting an advance from a publisher for his memoir, Spare, Harry made a deal in which he sold secrets, some embarrassing, about his family members, as well as a claim, infuriating to several nations, that he’d personally killed 25 Taliban fighters.  How could he be trusted with secrets about actual strangers — secrets  worth big money to people who would use such information for nefarious purposes?

During one of few public appearances as a working royal, a state dinner in Fiji, Meghan wore spectacular diamond earrings — a wedding gift to her from Mohammed bin Salman.  This was within weeks of the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, approved by bin Salman.  Meghan had been warned by staff against wearing those earrings.  She wore them again at Prince Charles’s birthday party.

What’s the harm in wearing a handful of blood diamonds?

Harry and Meghan have a relationship with an online group calling itself the Sussex Squad, which they provide public thanks and cash payments.  This group, which maintains a website and a YouTube channel, widely posts vicious things about William and Catherine.  Harry’s and Meghan’s vision for a “safer” internet doesn’t include shielding their own family members.

Harry and Meghan’s unsupported claims of royal and U.K. racism, amplified by their Squaddies, have had real-world consequences, sparking friction between the U.K. and other member-states of the Commonwealth of Nations, to the extent of nations considering withdrawing from the organization,

If it were my choice, I’d be ignoring those harmless airheads frolicking in southern California’s most lavish locations, without a care in the world.  But all signs are that they are dangerous, power-mad lunatics, whose misuse of information and connections have already been too extensive for any sane person’s comfort.

They Will Turn On You – “They were just obeying orders”

Chairman Mao, the unspoken hero of our garbage ruling caste, understood that power flows from the barrel of a gun, and it’s not unreasonable to wonder whether the institutions in America that carry guns – law enforcement and the military – and who are supposed to protect us will turn those guns on us if commanded to by the ruling elite.

Stop wondering.

Their answer is that to a greater extent than those of us who grew up in America, when it was a free country before it became our present crypto-leftist tyranny, want to admit, they will. Right now, they are hiding news that undermines their rule. They are censoring opponents. They are locking up political dissidents. And eventually, when the current junta feels truly threatened by the emerging backlash from patriotic citizens, too many of these alleged protectors will kill for their masters – and I mean more than just the occasional and totally unpunished massacres of unapproved dissidents like at Waco and Ruby Ridge.

Pretty harsh? It is harsh, but it’s not wrong. Explain why that is the red line they suddenly stop at when they have blasted through the red lines of lying, of censorship, and of framing the opposition using a two-tier justice system. “Yeah, those things are fine, but we won’t go all the way. Oh no, never.” Where’s the guardrail that is going to block the trend that is now sending SWAT teams out to bust people for praying at abortion clinics from accelerating into actually using those big, scary assault rifles?

Remember, we’re not just political opponents. We’re monsters, not even human, and dehumanization is the first step toward murder. In their hideous propaganda – memorably delivered by that brain-dead corrupt husk on TV against that ominous red and black background – we are extremists, terrorists, enemies of democracies and – regardless of our skin tone – “white supremacists.”

What do you do with people who pose such a perilous peril? Their civilian catspaws have the answer. They kill them on the streets in riots over dead thugs, at a congressional softball game, in a Christian school. And when that doesn’t snuff out the embers of freedom, who can argue that the elite will hesitate to use the organized forces of the government to do it” Sorry kids, but the logic of their hate and desperate grasping at power leads to blood, ours. And the leftists would cheer our governmental deaths as just and necessary and beautiful just as they did those amateur atrocities.

Remember Ashli Babbitt? Remember how they delighted in her murder? Remember how her killer is free and unpunished?

We thought we could rely on the members of these institutions to refuse the commands of their leaders if those leaders turned them upon the citizens. We properly hanged Nazis for “just obeying orders” and established a personal responsibility not to be a cog in the gears of tyranny. But look at our law enforcement agencies today. Look at the disgraced FBI, an organization that differs from the Stasi only in that many of its members are fatter. They share the communist secret police’s leftism and the delight spying on and framing citizens. The agents have accepted pursuing political opponents, framing a president, and all manner of lies and deceptions, and we know they accept it all because they don’t resign. A few whistleblowers have come forward, but the vast majority have stayed at their posts, participating indirectly or even directly in the oppression that is the hallmark of this modern Ministry of Truth. We can only hope that those few good apples don’t contaminate the barrel full of bad ones.

Why do they do it? Human weakness. Most have invested in their shabby careers. Most are eying pensions. They go along. They follow orders. And if you think that, given the order and the chance, they will not pull a trigger for the ruling class, well, I have a burnt patch of Texas dirt to sell you. Cheap.

Some will do it eagerly. Some will just do it to keep their jobs. But they will do it, and they will try to justify it to themselves. They will high five each other telling themselves how they are protecting democracy by capping people who dare exercise it. Get it through your heads – this is the result of years of selective hiring and grooming and making clear that you must conform or be cast out. They have built an organization that will protect the ruling class against any threat to its hegemony, and if that means threatening you or framing you or even killing you, they will do it.

Tell me I’m wrong, but support that position with evidence and not cliches like “The vast majority are dedicated to doing their important work defending our country.” Yeah, like defending us from the threat of borderline mental defectives their informers convince to LARP at revolution, or maybe busting granny for taking a Rotunda selfie. Again, the trend line is toward the worst case scenario and there is nothing in the way to stop its downward plunge, except maybe nominating and electing Ron DeSantis instead of a Democrat or some sissy Republican who desperately wants it to be 2005 again so s/he can pretend that federal law enforcement is not today a determined enemy of liberty.

But the FBI is a law enforcement organization and it functions only when the criminal justice system – which is equally a farce on multiple levels – is itself sort of functioning. If that charade collapses, out comes the military. Remember all the collective panty-wetting at the New York Times when Senator Tom Cotton wrote an op-ed suggesting Trump use the troops to crush the communist BLM/Antifa rioting? That will last about a second when the threat to the ruling elite’s hold on power is people like you. Then they will eagerly unleash their dogs of war.

So, will our military kill American citizens to suppress opposition to the junta’s rule? The leadership will certainly do it without hesitation. Again, the leadership has been carefully selected and groomed to accept that order if and when the time comes. Milley is clear that he thinks the greatest threat to America is other Americans. Oh, the brass hasn’t won a war in thirty years, and the Chinese are laughing at us in Mandarin as the Navy’s pride flag-waving ships run into each other on the open seas, but they have plenty of time to root out “extremists” in the ranks. And by “extremist,” they mean people like you – the very folks who traditionally serve in our military. Conservative. Patriotic. Cognizant of which bathroom to use. Those people, the enemy of the ruling caste. They have been largely pushed out of the senior ranks, and those that remain keep their heads down counting down to retirement. And few new ones are flowing in – the woke military can’t meet its recruiting goals.

Now, right-wing anarchist imp Michael Malice recently posited that: “The conservatives joking about how ‘woke’ the military supposedly is becoming should realize that it would be far easier for the Federal government to use a ‘woke’ military against them and their families.” This is true, but so is the fact that it will be – hell, it already is – a bad military. Our disastrously-led forces lost to a bunch of mountain tribesmen. Do you imagine their performance fighting ticked-off fellow Americans, who do not want arms and many of whom got military training back when we had a real military, will be better?

His concern also overlooks another key point – the wokeness is in the senior ranks, where your commitments to the fascist ideology that is DEI signals that you are down with the struggle and therefore trustworthy for advancement. These senior leaders, like their FBI counterparts, have an investment in the institution. But all is not lost. The regular joes and middle-level leaders, though shedding many of the patriots that once filled the ranks, are less inclined to that nonsense since they have less of an investment. Most are doing a single hitch; they have no pension to protect. These are the folks who would be expected to do the dirty work, and the dirty work would largely be atrocities committed upon their own people. If it got ugly, we could expect significant desertions and some level of non-compliance, even mutiny. Whole formations in National Guard units, which work for state governors, might resist intact. And it can be fixed quickly with a real leader who clears out the Pentagon deadwood.

But let’s not overlook the fact that a lot of troops would still obey such an order, even if it meant suppressing their fellow citizens. There is a cheery notion to consider, though. The military and law enforcement can put maybe 3,000,000 people on the streets, and a lot of them are support and logistics.

There are about 150,00,000 patriots. If it all goes to hell – and, sadly, the trash who run our institutions are dumb and evil enough to make it all go to hell – I still like freedom’s odds.

‘This is not about migration. It’s about changing the ethnic composition of Central Europe’ – Poland urged to hold a referendum on the EU’s new forced migrant quota policy

A top Polish magazine editor is calling for the Polish government to hold a national referendum on the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum, warning that the new law, which allows for the forced relocation of migrants to countries across Central Europe, is going to radically change the ethnic composition of the countries most opposed to mass immigration.

“The European Union, using legal tricks to bypass the European Council, is trying once again to make all EU states take in relocated migrants. A decision taken in violation of the treaties was adopted despite opposition from Poland and Hungary,” writes Jacek Karnowski, the editor of the influential Polish conservative weekly magazine Sieci

“No doubt the European Parliament will endorse this madness. Let’s not kid ourselves. It is not about just 2,000 in the first tranche. It’s about securing a system through which they can process 20,000, then 200,000 and finally 2 million (migrants),” he continued.

“This is not about migration. It’s about changing the ethnic composition of Central Europe, so it has the same ghettos and ‘no-go’ areas as in the West.”

The new law must now only pass the European Parliament, where it is expected to do so by a large majority. Once in effect, then countries have two options: either accept migrants being relocated from other EU countries or pay a massive fine of €20,000 per rejected migrant. As Remix News previously reported, these fines could quickly add up to billions for countries.

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has vowed to oppose the migrant quotas. Morawiecki has said that Poland will not only not accept any forced migrant relocations but would also refuse to pay any fines for rejecting the migrants.

Meanwhile, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán wrote on Twitter last week, “This is unacceptable! They want to turn Hungary into an immigration country by force!”

The Polish editor Karnowski, along with other prominent academics, intellectuals, policymakers, and politicians, is urging the Polish government to launch a national referendum on the issue.

Karnowski is calling on the Polish government to “stand firm.” He says in his opinion piece: “It must put forward opposition not only from the government but also the president too, and that stance must be backed by the people.

“This is why I believe it is right to hold a referendum on the matter — a referendum on how Poland is to look in the future. The people have the right to have a say on whether they want their towns and cities to look like those in Germany.”

Karnowski proposes to hold the referendum during the parliamentary elections this autumn. Putting the question to a referendum may help shore up support for the conservative government, but it may also bolter the Confederation party, which is seen as far more hardline on the issue of immigration than the Law and Justice (PiS) party. Confederation has harshly criticized PiS due to the record number of Asian migrants entering the country.

“Let those who hold the power in Brussels hear the voice of the Polish people loud and clear,” he wrote in conclusion.
