British man, abandoned by UK, shot in war-torn Sudan, his disabled wife starves to death
A British man, stranded in Sudan, was shot while his wife died of starvation in the war-torn city of Khartoum due to the abject negligence of the UK authorities, reported BBC.
The victim, identified as 85-year-old Abdalla Sholgami, was reportedly not evacuated despite living opposite to the British embassy building. He and his disabled wife Alaweya Rishwan were left to fend for themselves.
It must be mentioned that Britain sent its Army and Royal Air Force to evacuate diplomats staying at the country’s embassy in Khartoum. Despite multiple requests, the family of Abdalla Sholgami was not rescued.
He was instead told to go to an airfield, which is located 40 km outside the city, to hop on an evacuation flight. It implied that Abdalla Sholigami and his wife had to cross the warzone.
As such, they stayed put in their home until supplies ran dry. The 80-year-old man was forced to step out of his home, following which he was shot thrice by snipers. He sustained injuries on his chest, hand and lower back.
Abdalla Sholigami was rushed to another part of the war-torn city by a family member but his disabled wife was left home alone. With no food and water at her disposal, she died of starvation.
Despite their attempts of the family to contact the UK’s Foreign Office, the family did not receive any help. The dead body of Alaweya Rishwan was discovered by an official from the Turkish embassy. She is yet to be buried.
Abdalla Sholigami managed to survive the gunshot wounds and escaped to Egypt. He was reportedly treated by his doctor-son without any anaesthetic.
Azhaar, the granddaughter of Abdalla Sholgami, said, “I was informed they had 100 troops who came and evacuated their staff. They could not cross the road? I’m still very disappointed in them.”
“What happened to my grandparents was a crime against humanity, not only by the RSF, not only by the (Sudanese army) but by the British embassy, because they were the only ones that could have prevented this from happening to my grandparents,” she emphasised.
While speaking about the matter, the UK Foreign Office said, “The ongoing military conflict means Sudan remains dangerous… the UK is taking a leading role in the diplomatic efforts to secure peace in Sudan…Our ability to provide consular assistance is severely limited and we cannot provide in-person support within Sudan.”
The Sudan Conflict and Operation Kaveri
There is an ongoing conflict between Sudan’s military and its main paramilitary force. They are fighting to take control of the country. The war threatens the stability of Sudan and the wider region.
As such, the government of India launched Operation Kaveri to evacuate Indians from war-hit Sudan. The Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan went to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to manage the evacuation.
The Minister of External Affairs Dr S Jaishankar regularly updated about the evacuation process on social media. Apart from Indian Nationals, foreign nationals were also evacuated by India.
The Indians were evacuated from Port Sudan to Jeddah after the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) agreed to extend their ceasefire amid ongoing violence in the capital Khartoum and the western Darfur region.
Indians are being taken from Port Sudan to Jeddah on Navy ships and C-130J planes, from where they are being flown to India on C17 jet planes. On April 30, Dr S Jaishankar informed that 229 Indians reached Bengaluru.
On April 29, 365 passengers reached India in one batch, and 231 reached home in another batch. In a tweet, Muraleedharan mentioned that around 2,100 Indians were scheduled for evacuation from battle-torn Sudan.

Anglicanism has splintered thanks to the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby
While Great Britain was preparing for the coronation of Charles III — who is also the head of the Church of England — an event took place in Africa that went unnoticed by the major media but represents an important moment in the history of Anglicanism.
A total of 1,300 Anglican faithful, including 11 black primates of Anglican churches, gathered in the Rwandan capital of Kigali to discuss the future of their community.
At the center of the debate was Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby. Viewers who watched the coronation broadcast in London will remember him as the church dignitary who coronated Charles III with the crown of St. Edward. However, during this ceremony, he had already been declared a heretic and apostate by Anglican leaders representing 85 percent of the faithful of this denomination worldwide.
How did this happen?
The Anglican Communion is the third largest Christian denomination in the world after Catholics and Orthodox Christians. It has 85 million followers who belong to 39 independent local churches. Most of these churches are small, such as those in Japan, Hong Kong, or South Korea. The largest churches, however, are found in former British colonies in Africa, such as Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Uganda. The communities on the African continent collectively represent 85 percent of Anglican believers worldwide.
It was at the initiative of religious leaders representing Third World countries that the Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON) was established in 2008. Its founding was a reaction of local believers to the theological direction taken by churches in the North Atlantic region, such as those in England, Wales, Scotland, and the United States.
There was particular opposition to the ordination of women as priests and the acceptance of homosexuality. Over time, the doctrinal and moral gap between the two parts of Anglicanism deepened, but a compromise was reached that allowed for official unity despite fundamental theological and anthropological differences.
However, this fictional unity was eventually publicly shattered.
The main cause was the Church of England’s decision in February to officially bless “same-sex marriages” in its churches. This led Anglicans gathered at GAFCON IV in Kigali to officially declare the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby an apostate and called for his repentance and penance. The final document on this matter was signed by 11 primates of Anglican Churches and other conference participants.
What lesson can Catholics draw from this?
These events expose the illusion that “unity in diversity” can be maintained in matters of faith and morality. Many “reformers” in the Church, who set the tone for the current Synod in Western countries, hope to incorporate the Anglican model into Catholicism. They hope for doctrinal decentralization, which would allow for the coexistence of episcopates in the same Church, some of which bless same-sex unions (as in Germany or Belgium) and others who consider it a grave sin (as in Central Europe or Africa).
However, the example of Anglicanism shows that this path leads to schism and that such a model cannot be sustained in the long run.
France: Man suspected of terrorism arrested during police control
A 39-year-old man was arrested in La Ciotat (Bouches-du-Rhône) during a routine traffic stop by city police at about 10 p.m. on May 17, Actu17 reported.
While checking the motorist on Avenue de l’Abeille, police officers discovered what looked like the barrel of a gun in the trunk. The National Police was called in and an officer of the Judicial Police (OPJ) searched the car. A loaded shotgun and a semi-automatic handgun were seized. The officers also discovered about 20 pieces of ammunition caliber 12 and 9 mm. The check revealed that the suspect’s car was not only reported stolen, but also had a false license plate number.
The 39-year-old, who was already known to police, was taken into police custody. “He remained silent about the origin of the weapons and the reason why he possessed them,” a source familiar with the investigation reported. According to a source familiar with the investigation, the suspect is on the S (state security, translator’s note) file card for activities related to terrorism.
At the end of his police custody, the man was brought before a judge. The prosecutor of the Republic of Marseille, Dominique Laurens, confirmed that a judicial investigation had been opened in the case. The 30-year-old was remanded in custody.
What do search engines want to show you?
By Nick Lopez
Pictures are worth a thousand words. If you want a visual of what Big Tech thinks of white people, black people, or any people, do an image search on your preferred engine of the following terms. You will be unsurprised at the results.
I don’t like to promote companies that hate me, so I will just say that the search engine I used rhymes with “luck, luck, no.”
First, I typed “shoplifter.” The image search shows white people stealing — white hands stuffing things into purses, a white thug in a hoodie looking shady in a store aisle, old white people stealing medicine, young white people stealing makeup. It took quite a bit of scrolling to find a non-white person shoplifting…then it was an Asian woman.
Next I typed “rioter.” Apparently there has been only one riot ever in all of human history. You know which one. If you are really dedicated to scrolling down, eventually, you will find a picture of a peaceful but fiery protest…but it takes some dedication, and don’t blink, because you might miss it.
Then I typed “white people.” I was surprised that the images shown didn’t include white robes with hoods. But over half the images were of black people, either with white people or alone.
I followed up that search with “black people.” No white people appeared at all on that one.
If you type “gay people,” you get a lot of images of white, male liberals acting like circus freaks. It takes quite a bit of scrolling to find an image of black gay people, or female gay people, or straight-looking gay people.
“Gay Republicans” was the third search that had absolutely no black people (in the first hundred or so images). “Shoplifter” was the first, “rioter” the second…this search result could pass for a Les Nessman (WKRP’s news guy) lookalike contest, right down to the bow tie.
“Republican voters” has images of black people in the top three, and about a quarter of the images thereafter.
Perhaps the most telling is “Democratic voters,” which shows a bunch of regular black folks (looking concerned) and a bunch of white candidates…and Stacey Abrams.
By far the saddest image search for me was “Patriot,” which yielded a bunch of missile systems, FBI agents provocateurs, and a Jeep product. “Patriotic people” gives a much better result.
If you want to know what a “racist” looks like, you are out of luck. Ironically, most of the top ranked pics in this category are BLM protesters. If you scroll down, eventually, there’s a picture of Mitch McConnell. I will give “luck, luck, no” credit for resisting the urge to plaster Donald Trump’s image all over the top results, although it did eventually come up not long after Mitch.
I don’t think for a second that these search results are “organic” (the actual top result). It is obviously manipulated. If they weren’t manipulated, and January 6 were actually the only riot in history, QAnon Shaman would be the actual top result for “rioter.” He isn’t. Not even close.
Big Tech is using manipulated results to warp our perceptions. Think it’s had to prove? A quick image search of common everyday terms should show expected results. When they don’t, it is evidence that the hidden hand is up to no good.

France: School Roll Calls During Eid are the New “Racism”
Anti-racist groups and teaching unions in France have demanded an inquiry into why French police requested schools provide information on the number of pupils absent on the Muslim festival of Eid.
The Ministry of the Interior has confirmed it asked some schools in the south-western city of Toulouse “to evaluate” the rate of absenteeism on the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr, on 21 April, but it refuted claims that the request constituted a census on faith.
France’s laws on secularism forbid the gathering of statistics relating to ethnicity, origins or religion, with very few exceptions.
Police sent emails to school principals in the academy of Toulouse asking them how many students were absent on the day as part of a “request from the intelligence services” to calculate the percentage of absenteeism… during the Eid holiday”.
The request was made directly to the schools concerned, without the approval of the Toulouse rectorate.
“In no case do we carry out investigations of this kind,” Mostafa Fourar, the rector of the academy, told French news agency AFP.
“As soon as the heads of establishments and school principals informed us of this request, instructions were given not to respond to it,” the rectorate said.
“We see this as a serious drift, a stigmatisation of Muslim students and an attack on their freedom of conscience.”
‘Proper investigation’
Leaders of associations and trade unions have expressed concern over the police initiative.
The police request is “particularly shocking in that it associates Muslim religious practice with the issue of security”, said human rights group SOS Racisme, underlining that the request to schools came from the departmental directorate of public security (DDSP).
“For what other religious holidays does the Ministry of the Interior request an assessment of the rate of absenteeism”, the group asked in its press release.
The Sud-Education teachers’ union said it didn’t understand how such an initiative could have come about “without having been discussed anywhere”.
The Union of Mosques of France has called for a “proper investigation”.
“Families must be duly informed and reassured of the fate of the information given by some heads of schools who have, unfortunately, responded to the police’s request,” it said.
Responding to the criticism, Secretary of State for Citizenship, Sonia Backès, issued a statement on Sunday in which she acknowledged the Interior Ministry had made the request for information on absenteeism, but denied any desire to classify students according to their religion.
“The ministry regularly studies the impact of certain religious holidays on the functioning of public services, particularly within the school system,” she wrote, adding that “no nominative data has been requested or recorded at any time.”
According to a 2004 circular, pupils are required to maintain regular school attendance but are allowed to take a day off to commemorate and take part in religious holidays, providing the request is made in advance.
Germany: Gang rapes hit another record high in 2022, half of offenses committed by foreigners
Gang rapes have hit another record high in Germany in 2022, reaching a pace of more than two a day in the country, according to data released by the government after a request for information from the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.
The data shows that the total number of gang rapes hit 789, higher than last year when the number hit 677 and the previous record high of 710 in 2019. In 2017, there were 380 gang rapes recorded, more than 50 percent fewer than recorded in 2022.
The data shows that exactly 50 percent of all gang rapes are committed by foreigners. However, as Remix News previously reported, individuals with a migration background, or even those with dual citizenship, who number nearly 4 million, are simply listed as “German.” As a result, it is unclear what percentage of these rapes were committed by ethnic Germans.
In a statement on the statistics published on Facebook, the anti-immigration Alternative for Germany (AfD) party writes: “The figures on the composition of the perpetrators are also clear and show that all claims that there is no connection between mass migration and the collapse of internal security are lies. There were 471 suspected perpetrators with a German passport compared to 472 foreigners – so around half of the perpetrators are foreigners, although their share of the total population is ‘only’ around 14 percent. However, the 50 percent does not include the number of German suspects with foreign origins! The main countries of origin of the foreign suspects were once again Syria and Afghanistan.”
The data shows the strongest increase in rapes coincided with Germany’s migrant population swelling due to the 2016 migrant crisis. That was the same year that the infamous sexual assaults took place in Cologne on New Year’s Eve, in which an estimated 1,049 women were sexually assaulted and sometimes gang raped by men from North Africa and the Middle East.
Many of the country’s most high-profile gang rapes have involved foreign men targeting German women.
“Emma S., for example, had to experience this firsthand in 2019. The then 15-year-old was lured into a bush on a September night and raped by 11 men. Arsen K. and Fares L. (then 19 and 20 years old) also filmed the crime,” wrote the German newspaper Junge Freiheit.
In 2020, 10 migrants raped an 18-year-old girl, and all were later convicted of the crime.
In other countries, the same trend can be seen. Two prominent Swedish academics were prosecuted for showing that migrants and foreigners were vastly overrepresented in sexual assault and rape statistics. Nearly all gang rapes in the country were committed by foreign men. As Remix News reported in an article on Denmark, which keeps the most accurate statistics on migrant crime in Western Europe, the numbers are astounding:
For example, for murder, non-European first-generation migrants are 279 percent more likely to commit murder, 464 percent more likely to commit rape, 220 percent more likely to commit assault, and 53 percent more likely to commit drug trafficking.
However, Denmark goes even further and analyzes second-generation non-European migrants as well, and that is where even more troubling statistics are revealed. While the assumption is that these children of migrants would be better integrated than their parents, the opposite is found.
For murder, this group is 850 percent overrepresented, with astounding figures also for assault (443 percent) and drug trafficking (304 percent). The only category where this group is lower is in regards to rape (158 percent).
“From the second generation, the descendants of non-European immigrants peak at +98% overrepresentation in the crimes committed. Danish figures show that the second generation of non-European immigrants is less integrated than the first, and has an 18% higher chance than their parents of being tried for a crime,” writes RAGE magazine.
In Italy, migrants are responsible for almost half of all rapes, and Austria has reported similar numbers as well.
DHS: First You Watch FOX News, Then PragerU, Then You Become a Nazi – This is about criminalizing political dissent
Disinformation and counter-extremism programs have become little more than tools for suppressing the political opposition. With DHS handing out grants to study extremism, the Media Research Center has information on what may be the single most explicit attempt at using counter-extremism funding to go after the opposition.
Under the Trump administration, the “Targeted Violence & Terrorism Prevention Grant Program” (TVTP) was used to prevent terrorism, but it was revamped under the Biden administration and renamed to provide funding for localities to combat “all forms of terrorism and targeted violence.” Instead of focusing on preventing actual violence and terrorism, the program is now being used to target the entire spectrum of the political right and Christians through “media literacy and online critical thinking initiatives” and other so-called training seminars as part of a coordinated effort to make America into a one-party system.
The University of Dayton, one of several grantees, targeted groups including The Heritage Foundation, Fox News, Christian Broadcasting Network, Turning Point USA, PragerU, the National Rifle Association (NRA), Breitbart News, the American Conservative Union Foundation and the RepublicanNational Committee.
The pyramid of extremism speaks for itself. First you watch FOX News, then some PragerU videos and then you become a Nazi.
Also, “The seminar also compared former President Donald Trump to Pol Pot and suggested Florida Governor Ron DeSantis might wish to start a second Holocaust.”
Sure.
Among the organizations and movements displayed on the pyramid were the Republican Party, the Heritage Foundation, the American Conservative Union, Fox News, Breitbart News, the National Rifle Association, PragerUniversity, Tea Party Patriots, the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement, the pro-police Blue Lives Matter movement, and the Christian Broadcasting Network.
The pyramid also included hate groups like The Base, a neo-Nazi paramilitary group, and the Daily Stormer, a pro-Nazi publication, seemingly comparing them to mainstream organizations such as the GOP.
This is about criminalizing political dissent. Plain and simple.

Monty Python in the Age of LGBT Intolerance
Monty Python is a remnant of a better culture, before wokeness canceled our sense of humor:
Monty Python stars John Cleese and Eric Idle have been workshopping new scenes and plotlines for a blockbuster stage show based on the classic 1979 film Life Of Brian.
Cleese says he has “changed certain things.”
One exchange which has had to come out is the discussion between People’s Front of Judea members Stan (played by Idle) and Reg (Cleese). Stan says that he wants to be known as Loretta and to have babies. ‘It’s every man’s right to have babies if you want them,’ says Stan. Reg counters: ‘But — you can’t have babies.’ At which Stan responds: ‘Don’t you oppress me.’
What was comedy in the 1970s is now reality. It is currently forbidden in the entertainment industry to acknowledge that men cannot have babies, for the same reason that Winston Smith was not allowed to acknowledge that 2 + 2 = 4.
Cleese told an audience at his one-man show last week that when the scene (co-written with the late Graham Chapman) was performed at a read-through for the new show in New York last year, doubts emerged. ‘At the end, I said to the American actors: ‘What do you think?’ And they said: ‘We love the script, but you can’t do that stuff about Loretta nowadays.’
