Vienna is not resting: In the night of Monday, there was the fourth knife attack by Syrian suspects in only 48 hours. A youth (15) together with an as yet unknown person stabbed a man (19) – before that, the two attackers had whistled at him and his girlfriend.
A young couple (19 and 20 years old) walked to a bus stop in the 14th district near Hütteldorferstraße at 0.30 a.m. on Monday night. There they were approached by two young men. They suddenly changed direction and crept up behind the couple. The young men started whistling after the lovers.
The 19-year-old boy did not want to listen to this any longer. He turned around and asked them why they were whistling at him and his girlfriend. The two suspects immediately reacted with violence: they kicked and hit the young man. In addition, one of the alleged perpetrators, a 15-year-old Syrian national, allegedly threatened to kill the victim with a knife in his hand. When a bus pulled into the bus stop there, the suspects escaped.
The victim and his girlfriend got on the bus, where they finally noticed a puncture in the young man’s back. He was subsequently given emergency medical care by emergency services of the Vienna Ambulance Service and taken to hospital. There is no danger to his life. In the course of an immediately initiated search, one of the two perpetrators of violence, the 15-year-old Syrian, was arrested. He had the alleged weapon with him. The knife was seized. The manhunt for the second suspect is ongoing.
After the “weekend of violence”, which saw three violent crimes with knives and the murder of an Iranian in the Simmering district of Vienna, the second week of May has now also begun in a bloody manner with the fourth knife attack within 48 hours. All suspects were Syrians, the youngest suspect is 13 years old.
The Republican Party was the clear winner of Chile’s Constitutional Council elections this Sunday with more than 99% of the votes counted.
Monopolized the formation of José Antonio Kast, the radical right candidate who lost the 2021 presidential election to current leader Gabriel Boric more than 35% of the votesaccording to the Chilean Electoral Service (Servel).
With it, will provide 22 of the 51 directors (50 representatives of the political parties and one of the indigenous peoples) who will have the task of drafting a new constitution during the year.
Boric’s left-wing coalition, Unity for Chile, won 28% of the votes and 17 directorsfewer than the 21 that would have given him the right to veto the drafting of Magna Carta.
The conservative Chilean Seguro group received 21.5% of the vote and would secure the remaining 11 councillors, while coalitions Todo por Chile and Partido de la Gente – center-left and liberal respectively – are not represented.
The right and centre-right coalitions add 33 Council members, giving them a great deal of autonomy in drafting the Magna Carta submitted to a referendum to replace the current one from 1980.
In addition, the victory of the far-right formation is particularly symbolic at a time when the popularity of the Boric government is at an all-time low.
He highlighted the large number of zero and blank votes, which exceeded 2.2 million, more than 21% of the total.
The election was conducted at 38,665 polling stations distributed among 2,932 polling stations across Chile.
The 51 members of the council must draft a new constitution to replace the one promulgated during the military regime of General Augusto Pinochet.
This is the second attempt since then in september last year voters rejected a first proposal with 62% dissenting.
This constitutional text had been drafted by a committee dominated by representatives of the left and independents, forcing a review of the strategy for implementing a new Magna Carta.
A Christian widow and a Muslim gardener, both illiterate, were arrested in the Pakpattan city of Pakistan on April 19 on blasphemy charges after they were accused of ‘intentionally’ burning papers containing verses of the holy Quran, Friday Times reported.
On April 15, a 46-year-old Christian widow named Mussarat Bibi and a Muslim gardener named Muhammad Sarmad were assigned the task of cleaning the storeroom of a school, which was filled with paper and scrap items. They gathered the paper and other scraps in a corner of the school and burned them.
Students later found that the burned items also contained holy pages. Four days later, a local resident named Kashif Nadeem contacted the police and accused the illiterate Christian widow of committing blasphemy by burning pages of the holy Quran at the school, Friday Times reported.
The complainant also gathered a mob outside the school and started protesting against the incident. However, police reached the scene on time and took the accused into custody to avert any untoward situation.
The complainant named only the Christian widow, but during the preliminary investigation, police found the gardener was also involved in setting the holy pages on fire, hence police named both persons in the FIR, Friday Times reported.
While condemning the incident, minority rights activist Joseph Jansen said that the blasphemy laws are being used as an excuse to violate people’s rights on a vast scale. In spite of their vulnerability, crimes committed against women and girls go unpunished, deterring them from seeking employment and achieving equality with men, he added.
He said that women were afraid to go out and work as a result of the abuse of blasphemy laws against religious minority women. Knowing that Mussarat is illiterate, innocent, and simply performing her role as she was alleged to have done is clear evidence that blasphemy laws have been misused, he added.
At a cup match between the youth teams of FC Kalbach 1948 and Germania Enkheim on a May Day in Frankfurt, an apparently migrant father (pol. correct: “of international origin”), who was known to the police for violence and other offences, escalated completely and let out what is customary in his unculture towards “enemies”.
After the defeat of FC Kalbach, his son’s team, the 48-year-old, who had already attracted attention during the match by loudly mobbing the underage referees and linesmen, ran onto the pitch and threatened to behead a 15-year-old referee. The Frankfurt Referees Association (SRVGG) uploaded a video of the incident on Instagram .
The sentences: “I’ll cut your head off. I’ll f… your mother” were shouted. Even before that, the man is said to have shouted sentences like: “You sons of bitches, are you blind? In other words, in line with what we have unfortunately become accustomed to from this group of people. Even supporters of the losing team said they were already familiar with this kind of behaviour from the aggressive perpetrator.
The man was charged with threatening behaviour and disturbing the public peace. The police are now investigating.
From experience, however, it can hardly be assumed that the aggressor, who already has a criminal record, will be threatened with serious consequences, even if “noticeable consequences” are demanded by club FC Kalbach 1948, the district football committee, the district youth committee and the district sports court.
There is nothing more “narcissistic, degenerate and evil” than those who push abortion or argue against having children because of the supposed climate crisis, Dutch political commentator Eva Vlaardingerbroek said.
A report from the Rotterdam-based paper Algemeen Dagblad claimed that the majority of young adults in The Netherlands are concerned about having children in response to the persistent Armageddon-like warnings around the climate, with some speaking to the paper saying that they had aborted their children over fears of the so-called crisis.
In response, Dutch commentator Eva Vlaardingerbroek said: “There is nothing more narcissistic, degenerate and evil to me than people who propagate abortion or not having children because of ‘climate change’ or ‘the current state of the world’.”
“If you think your life is ‘hard’ or the world is too ‘unfair’ to bring a child into it, think for one damn second about the lives our ancestors lived and how it never even would have crossed their minds to kill their own babies for a second. Get a grip, you weak-minded morons,” she declared.
Twitter chief Elon Musk agreed with the sentiments expressed by Vlaardingerbroek, writing in response: “True. What’s actually happening in most countries is population collapse! Very important to make new humans. No new humans means no humanity.”
Vlaardingerbroek, who has become a rising star in the international populist movement for her strident support for the Dutch farmers against the tyrannical green agenda of the EU and the globalist government of Mark Rutte at The Hague, added: “Sacrificing humanity in order to ‘save’ the planet. These people have very interesting priorities.”
In the article from Algemeen Dagblad, a woman named Zoé was cited as having her child aborted because of the climate, explaining that she did not “want to put children on this Earth”.
Tragically, she has appeared to have developed second thoughts about the green agenda-inspired decision, saying: “If I could ever have a child again, I would welcome it now.”
With Germany’s largest state by population, North Rhine Westphalia, facing a soaring rise in knife attacks, the government is facing pressure to respond to the threat. On Friday, the government debated the issue in state parliament at the request of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) parliamentary group.
However, neither the SPD nor the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) Interior Minister Herbert Reul were enthusiastic about naming who was behind the vast majority of attacks, with the Alternative for Germany (AfD) instead seizing the opportunity.
Instead, the SPD deputy Andreas Bialas referred to “socially marginalized persons,” who he said require an increase in the number of police “contact officers.” He did not explain what these contact officers are responsible for doing, but it is known that contract officers in North Rhine Westphalia are in charge of ensuring communication and relations between police stations and local Islamic communities.
The debate was entitled “Deadly dangers from knife attacks – what further measures will the state government take?” According to German newspaper Ruhr Nachrichten, the topic was the subject of a Q&A session that began with a speech from Bialas, who listed the variety of bloody knife attacks that happened just the weekend before.
“An unprecedented, incomprehensible trail of blood runs through the country,” he said, speaking of “knife madness” and “rapidly increasing” knife attacks.
“Citizens want answers,” he stated. “We can’t have another bloody weekend like this.”
North Rhine Westphalia is not the only area of Germany featuring soaring knife attacks. The country is plagued with dozens nearly every day, with the attacks happening so frequently that they pop into the headlines and then quickly fade away. Just a few days ago, a man stabbed two children in Berlin directly on a school playground in the middle of the day, nearly killing both of them.
The SPD offered a variety of solutions to the “knife madness,” calling for no-weapon zones, bans on knives in public places, and increased monitoring. When asked about who was behind these attacks, Bialas held back, saying they were “socially marginalized persons.”
The SPD opened itself up to mockery over calling for the debate given its open border policy, which is the main factor behind soaring knife crime. As Remix News previously reported, crimes involving rape, murder and assault jumped in North Rhine Westphalia in 2022, with the data showing that, for example, 48.1 percent of serious sexual assaults are committed by non-Germans. The category of “murder and manslaughter” also saw a 23.4 percent rise, resulting in 380 cases. In Germany overall, an average of 50 knife attacks are reported every day.
“That the SPD, of all parties, has discovered the topic of knife attacks is not without a certain irony,” mocked CDU member of parliament Gregor Golland in response. “That is close to populism. In which ranks do you actually want to fish here?”
Golland conceded that every knife attack “is of course one too many.” However, he defended the measures taken by the state government. “We will continue our successful and consistent zero-tolerance policy.”
Marc Lürbke, the spokesman for the domestic policy of the Free Democrats (FDP) parliamentary group, cast doubts on the CDU claims, pointing to the 4,191 knife attacks per year in the state.
“That’s 12 per day,” he said. “The number is an indictment in itself.” He called no-weapon zones a “helpless attempt” to counter knife crime.
Lürbke called for a “prevention offensive” in schools “and yes, also in shelters for refugees.” He also called for swift punishments for people found with a knife.
“Anyone carrying knives in NRW on the weekend will have to sit before a judge on Monday.” According to the FDP politician, “severe fines of several hundred euros” would also be appropriate.
After Lürbke’s speech, AfD parliamentary group’s spokesman on domestic policy, Markus Wagner, addressed the large share of non-German nationals as well as asylum seekers in knife attacks:
“It’s often the same pattern; a refugee without the right to stay, living on welfare,” he said.
Wagner then criticized non-transparent police reports, which mostly conceal the nationality of the suspects in knife attacks.
He noted that state Interior Minister Reul, as well as police unions, had also agreed to the demand that the origin of such crime suspects be declared.
The AfD politician also criticized public media, which in this context would always speak only of “men” or “groups of men.”
A ” returnee ” asks to be repatriated. The jihadist Bryan D’Ancona (photo) reported to the consulate in Istanbul (Turkey) this week with an unusual request: He wants to return to France. The 26-year-old was one of the first French nationals to leave for Syria, reports franceinfo. He was one of the youngest to leave ten years ago.
At the age of 16, this convert to Islam embarked for Istanbul in 2013, from where he tried to reach Syria illegally. The former resident of Nice had never concealed the fact that he wanted to join the jihadists to fight alongside them, but was allegedly influenced by his religious mentor Omar Diaby. This “spiritual leader” was the leader of a group linked to Al-Qaeda that was active in north-western Syria.
Although Bryan D’Ancona had left the country, French intelligence always kept an eye on him. During the ten-year war, the young man had made numerous attempts to recruit young Frenchmen. On the spot, he is said to have married a compatriot in a religious way, who had also gone to Syria. The couple is said to have then settled in a camp near Idlib in the north-west of the country before separating.
Before their marriage broke up, the two emigrants had a daughter, whom Bryan D’Ancona is in the process of taking to France. However, the young man, who is the subject of an arrest warrant, risks being charged with “criminal association in connection with a terrorist enterprise” if he sets foot on French soil again.
It all started with graffiti discovered on the church of Lieusaint in the Seine-et-Marne département. The act of vandalism was committed on the night of Wednesday May 3 to Thursday May 4. Arabic inscriptions such as “Allah is great” (with spelling mistakes) were discovered. The following night, damage was done to the war memorial in Barbizon and to the façade of the Crédit Mutuelle bank in Melun. A Cross of David was tampered with, the other inscriptions could not be deciphered.
Then, on Friday night, a fire broke out at the Total Access petrol station in Saint Fargeau-Ponthierry. Three petrol pumps were on fire. The fire brigade was called at around 3am and was able to quell the flames two hours later. The road was closed all the way to the A6 motorway. Little doubt for the investigators: it was arson. The arsonist had also tried to set fire to about 50 gas bottles. Fortunately, there was no explosion and no injuries. France Bleu
Within 72 hours, the police were able to establish a link between the various offences and arrest the alleged perpetrator. He, a 45-year-old resident of Moisenay, admitted to the offences. A psychiatric expert concluded that his judgement was impaired.
“In police custody, the man told us that we would have done well to stop him as he was planning to set fire to the forest of Fontainebleau…”. Jérôme Georges, central commissioner of the Melun Val de Seine (Seine-et-Marne) conurbation, was relieved.
It all starts with slogans written in Arabic (” Allah is great “; ” No deity but Allah “, according to a specialist with spelling mistakes) painted in black paint on the back of the church in Lieusaint. The damages were committed during the night of Wednesday May 3 to Thursday May 4. Le Parisien
