The federal government has underestimated the financial pressure mass migration has put on authorities, German state officials have claimed.
Local authorities throughout Germany have lashed out at the Federal Government over its pro-mass migration policy, saying that ministers have vastly underestimated the serious financial strain that arrivals are having on individual states.
Germany is currently experiencing its worst mass migration crisis since 2016, with the combination of Ukrainian refugees and illegal border crossers reportedly pushing infrastructure in many states to its limits.
According to a report by Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, state authorities are now demanding the government hand over more funds to help them deal with the migrant surge, with officials calling for a system of financial aid similar to what was in place during the 2016 migrant crisis to be implemented.
However, Olaf Scholz’s left-wing coalition has dismissed such calls, insisting that lump sums of just over $3 billion for each state should suffice for the purpose of dealing with migrant arrivals.
“The basic problem is that this federal government has said goodbye to the proven system of financing that applied until 2021,” Henrik Wüst, the Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia explained.
“This system did justice to the situation because it was based on the actual access numbers,” he said. “The calls for help from cities and communities are dismissed from Berlin.”
This surge of migrant arrivals is not only causing problems for state purse strings, however, with many small towns and villages falling into open revolt after authorities opened up migrant reception centres in their area.
Things are so bad that some in the country are worried that continued migrant arrivals will spark serious unrest in the country, with the head of Germany’s Federal Police Union, Heiko Teggatz, describing the crisis as putting the public at risk.
“No border protection, no upper limit, no money for the municipalities — this is a dangerous cocktail that is changing the mood in the country and offers international crime an El Dorado in Germany,” he said.
Meanwhile, populist Alternative for Germany has surged in the polls, recently overtaking the ruling Greens to become the third-most-popular party in the country.
A female Christian charity worker died after being fatally stabbed in the neck as she returned home from a shopping trip on May 1, London’s Old Bailey court heard on Tuesday.
Mohamed Nur, 33, was charged on Friday for the murder of 31-year-old Johanita Kossiwa Dogbey and for three counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent after allegedly attacking a man and two other women in separate incidents just two days prior to the murder.
On Tuesday, the London court heard how Nur, dressed in dark clothing, had approached Ms. Dogbey from behind as she walked alone on Stockwell Park Walk in Brixton, South London, on the May Day bank holiday.
She had been returning home after buying a birthday gift for her mother in the city center.
Using a makeshift blade, Nur allegedly stabbed his victim in the neck, causing her to bleed out and die at the scene of her injuries.
Prosecutor Julian Evans told the court it was a “completely unprovoked attack” on Ms. Dogbey, insisting “there is no suggestion she and the defendant were known to one another.”
The court heard how Nur had also allegedly attacked three other victims late on the evening of April 29, just two days before Ms. Dogbey’s murder. Again, without provocation or warning, two women and a man were attacked by a man with a bladed article in Brixton, all of whom sustained facial injuries.
The suspect was arrested by police on Brixton High Street and was found to be in possession of a makeshift weapon fashioned from a piece of broken mirror. He was subsequently charged with the aforementioned offenses on Friday.
At the preliminary hearing on Tuesday, Nur spoke only to confirm his identity. The court heard how he had been living in a hostel in Vauxhall, a neighboring South London district.
The presiding judge, Mark Lucraft KC, scheduled a plea hearing for June and set a trial date for Nur to commence on April 29, 2024.
“We are devastated by the news of the passing of our daughter,” Ms. Dogbey’s family wrote in a statement released by police on Thursday.
“Johanita was a smart, dedicated, and loving girl who always helped anyone. She hasn’t got one bad bone in her body.
“She wouldn’t hurt a fly. We can’t believe a senseless crime like this has happened as we can’t imagine who would do this to her,” the statement added.
A Starbucks cafe in England has fired a transgender barista for berating a female customer for supposedly being “transphobic” before going on to allegedly attack a man who was filming the altercation.
A violent incident that occurred at a branch of Starbucks in Southampton, Hampshire, on April 30, according to the Daily Mail, has caused outrage as a transgender individual was filmed shouting at a female customer, calling her “transphobic” and dubbing her a “Karen” before allegedly assaulting a man who was filming on his phone.
In footage posted on social media by anti-transgenderism activist Oli London, appeared to show the transgender employee shouting at the Starbucks customer, saying: “You’re calling me a man, you’re being transphobic, Karen. Now get out.”
To which the woman replied: “You’re rude, don’t ever call me transphobic, ever. You do not know me.”
The employee went on to menacingly clap in the face of the woman, demanding once again that she “get out” of the shop and then accusing her of “trespassing”.
Upon realising that the heated exchange was being filmed, the trans barista suddenly charged at the man filming, demanding that he give up his phone while appearing to physically assault him.
On Monday, Starbucks confirmed that the employee had been sacked, with a spokesman telling the Dan Wooton programme on GB News: “The licensee has confirmed that the partner (employee) no longer works at the company. Starbucks has no tolerance for behaviour of this kind and we are very sorry for the experience that this customer had.”
A producer for the programme, Ben Leo, went on to report on Tuesday that local police have also opened up an investigation into the matter, writing on social media: “Hampshire Police tell me they are currently investigating an allegation of assault regarding this incident.”
The Starbucks squabble caused considerable uproar on social media after being posted on Twitter, with the video being viewed by over four million people.
Woman’s rights activist Kellie-Jay Keen wrote: “Why wouldn’t we want men like this in our safe spaces? #MaleAggression #ThisNeverHappens.”
“When you go into Starbucks for a latte, but instead you get assaulted by a man in woman face,” anti-woke Reclaim Party leader Laurence Fox quipped.
Riot police were drafted to the Rai exhibition centre in Amsterdam on Sunday evening after fighting broke out between different groups of people during voting in the Turkish general elections. The scuffles started around 9pm, but it was not until 2.30am that the last of the troublemakers left the area, a police spokesman told the Telegraaf. Images circulating on social media showed several groups of men fighting in one of the exhibition halls and police stepping in to break them up. There were no arrests. Broadcaster NOS said later the trouble had been called by observers from the parties contesting the election who were making sure that voting was free and fair. Sunday was the last day Turkish Dutch dual nationals could vote in the Turkish presidential and parliamentary elections. Voting locations were also open in The Hague, Deventer and Eindhoven. The main contest is between current president Recep Tayyip Erdogan and opposition leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu. Some 250,000 Dutch Turks were eligible to vote. People of Turkish origin in the Netherlands are automatically given Turkish nationality when they are born, which confers voting rights. In 2018, around one in three Dutch Turks actually voted, almost 73% of whom backed sitting president Recep Tayyip Erdogan, according to Turkish paper dailysabah.com.
On Tuesday, May 9, the Assam government led by CM Himanta Biswas Sarma informed that it has decided to form a committee that will thoroughly investigate whether prohibiting the practice of polygamy by Muslim men in the state falls within the purview of the state government.
Speaking to ANI, the CM said that his government intends to prohibit polygamy through a state act rather than the UCC.
“We are not going through Uniform Civil Code (UCC), but we want to ban polygamy under a State Act. Assam Government has decided to form an expert committee to investigate whether the State Government has the authority to prohibit polygamy in the region. Assam Government wants to ban polygamy in the state,” Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
According to the Assam Government, the committee will be tasked with scrutinising the provisions of The Muslim Personal Law (Shariat) Act, 1937, as well as Article 25 of the Indian Constitution, in relation to the directive principle of state policy for a uniform civil code.
The government said that the committee will engage in extensive discussions with all stakeholders, including legal experts, to arrive at a well-informed decision.
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma also took to Twitter to inform about his government’s decision to form the aforementioned committee to scrutinise the legality of the practice.
Meanwhile, addressing a press conference at No.1 State Guest House, Koinadhara, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the committee will consist of legal experts, and they will discuss with Islamic scholars and others to build consensus.
“I have studied it over the last weeks and found that Polygamy is not an essential Islamic practice. Our target is both direct and indirect polygamy, men keep other wives without marriage, and this is worse than direct polygamy. Polygamy we are banning, but what about such de-facto polygamy? We want to attack both formal and informal polygamy. The committee will suggest ways to curb both.
The CM added that the legality of how to overcome this practice has to be examined. “Be it Hindu or Muslim, no one supports polygamy but the 1937 Shariat Act is in there and now legal experts will have to analyse and see how we can overcome that. Whether it needs the President’s assent or a state act is enough. For all this, the committee will comprise legal experts who would engage in extensive discussions with all stakeholders to arrive at a well-informed decision,” Sarma said.
The Himanta Biswa Sarma government also issued a press note on the said proposal, wherein it gave examples of several cases to assert how the issue of polygamy and its legality has constantly engaged several High Courts.
It was also stated that the topic of polygamy was challenged in the Supreme Court during the Shayara Bano case. The Supreme Court, however, had not ruled on polygamy and had only ruled on triple talaq, according to the note.
It may be recalled that on 26 February 2016, Shayara Bano filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the practice of triple talaq, halala and polygamy. This prompted the Modi government to file a petition against triple talaq based on her petition. Her petition wanted the court to strike down those Islamic practices on the premise that they violated Articles 14, 15, 21 and 25 of the Constitution. On August 22, 2017, the Supreme Court in a landmark judgement outlawed the practice of talaq-e-biddat or Instant Triple Talaq.
The court, had, however, not passed any ruling on the Islamic practices of polygamy and nikah halala then saying, “Other questions raised in the connected writ petitions, such as polygamy and “halala” (and other allied matters) would be dealt with separately.”
The note further asserted that the practice of ‘polygamy’ infringes on the fundamental rights of Muslim women under Articles 13, 14 and 21 of the constitution of India.
In addition, the Assam government stated that India is a signatory to various international conventions and covenants, such as the UN Committee on Civil and Political Rights, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, and others, which state that polygamy violates the dignity of women and should be abolished wherever it exists.
‘Muslim daughters should be made doctors, engineers, not child-producing machines’: Himanta Biswa Sarma bats for UCC in Karnataka
It may be recalled that even while addressing an election rally at Ujire in Belthangady district in poll-bound Karnataka recently, Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, had advocated for the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code in Karnataka. The BJP leader emphasised the significance of the Uniform Civil Code, calling it the only solution to end the practice of ‘polygamy’ that is Muslim men marrying multiple women.
“Muslim women and daughters are made to marry over four times. We have to bring Uniform Civil Code. Muslim daughters should be made doctors, and engineers, not child-producing machines,” said the Assam CM.
Assam CM says polygamy, and instant talaq must be prohibited
Earlier also, the Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma declared categorically that the Assam government is quite clear about prohibiting Muslim males from marrying multiple women. According to him, no Muslim male should marry more than one woman. “It takes one wife, one husband, and two children to live a happy life,” he said.
In today’s ridiculous news, I present this picture:
Kerry is famous for tossing his Vietnam war medals over a fence, or at least, saying he did, before he later said it was just his ribbons, and then later still saying it some other guy’s medals.
Presumed Democratic Presidential nominee John Kerry said in an interview more than 30 years ago that he threw away some of his Vietnam combat medals – contradicting statements he has made as a candidate, it was reported yesterday.
“I gave back, I can’t remember, six, seven, eight, nine medals,” Kerry said in an interview with WRC-TV, a Washington, D.C., station on Nov. 6, 1971, ABC News reported. Kerry previously had told the network that stories about him tossing medals were a “myth.”
In the 1971 interview, for a program called “Viewpoints,” Kerry – who had not yet been elected to the Senate – said that war veterans who threw away their medals “decided to give them back to their country.”
When asked if he disposed of his Bronze Star, Silver Star and three Purple Hearts received as a Navy lieutenant in Vietnam, he replied, “Well, and above that. [I] gave back the others.”
Earlier this year, Kerry was asked by syndicated columnist Robert Novak, if he regretted throwing his medals away, and responded, “There was no regret,” but he added, “I threw away my ribbons, not my medals.”
…and this…
But in 1984, he told the Globe he still had his own medals but had tossed away another soldiers’ medal.
Here he is, droning on about how he protested the war:
Here he is in 1971, talking about tossing his Vietnam War medals:
And the medals themselves have somewhat suspect and politicized origins, according to many Vietnam combat vets.
However they were obtained, Kerry says he tossed at least some to protest the Vietnam War and pontificate about Zhayyynghis Khan before Congress in the days before he launched his own political career.
Now he’s suddenly found them — and found a use for them, wearing them over his suit, the way Soviet apparachiks and third-world dictators do, in order to participate in the British coronation pageantry.
Can you say with Jeff Jacoby ‘phony’? Americans historically are supposed to be plain, simple yeomen who shake hands rather than bow to British kings and who don’t put on crowns or recognize titles. Well, not anymore. Kerry seems to have wanted a big ermine robe and sash, but the medals would have to do.
First, how the heck did that guy cadge an invitation to this rather exclusive and prestigious event? He’s hardly an important person from the U.S., serving as Joe Biden’s global warming czar and basically flying to conferences on a trail of private jet exhaust fuel, and focusing on buffet tables. Maybe he’s a social contact of King Charles III, who has a bit too much interest in global warming nonsense, but we haven’t heard anything about him being a social contact, and you can bet that Kerry, who’s a social climber, would have gotten that out there earlier.
Kerry is now in his dotage, focused on his yachts and social climbing, having married an heiress after searching explicitly for one, based on some other heiresses I’ve talked to, who said that once upon a time, Kerry the suitor came calling.
Heiresses were useful, and now he finds his Vietnam War medals suddenly useful, too — as ceremonial decorations in a bid to match the British in their ceremonial finery.
Shall we expect him to start wearing them in the states? Shall we expect him to curtsey? Why did those medal suddenly get so useful to him?
A Florida neo-Nazi who became a Muslim admitted to having killed his roommates on Monday for disobeying his religion. Devon Arthurs, now 24 years old confessed to being responsible for the 2017 shooting murders of Jeremy Himmelman and Andrew Onseschuck inside a Tampa apartment and consented to a sentence of 45 years in prison.
Before Arthurs converted to Islam and abandoned his ‘racist views’, he and his two roommates, Jeremy Himmelman, 18, and Andrew Oneschuk, 22 were members of the Atomwaffen Divison, a neo-Nazi organisation. Arthurs confessed to having executed the murder on May 19, 2017.
During interrogation, the accused said to the police that he was being teased by his roommates for his new religion. He also alleged that the victims were planning bombing attacks. Additionally, he said that Muslim nations were being bombarded and that he intended the killings to highlight anti-Muslim prejudice.
“I had to do it. This wouldn’t have had to happen if your country didn’t bomb my country,” he told the detectives. Inside the house which Arthurs shared with the victims, investigators discovered weapons, explosives, and racial literature.
Police first encountered Arthurs after he took three people hostage inside a smoke shop. He admitted to the authorities that he originally resisted releasing the inmates because he was angry over American aggressiveness in the Middle East. Eventually, police liberated the hostages and detained Arthurs. When he was 18 years old, Arthurs told the authorities that he had killed his roommates and taken them to their graves.
Another flatmate named Brandon Russell was sobbing in front of the house when the responding cops arrived. The former member of the National Guard was later detained by police for having an armoury inside the house; he was sentenced to five years in federal prison.
After his release in February of last year, he was detained again and accused of plotting terrorist acts against electrical grid infrastructure. The matter is still pending in the court of law. Police reported that Arthurs used a WASR 10 assault weapon to shoot Himmelman, 22, and Oneschuk, 18.
When submitting his plea on Monday, he apologized for the killings and told the court that he intended to spend the rest of his life fighting violent radicalism. “I’d like to take this moment to tell the world to stay away from extremist groups. I’m very sorry for everyone that was involved. I’m very sorry for everything that has happened,” Arthurs said.
As Arthurs’ solicitors contended that he had schizophrenia and other challenges, the trial was repeatedly postponed. But once the court determined he was mentally competent, the lawsuit was permitted to continue.
As seen in many other Western countries, such as France and Britain, the first name Mohammed has continuously gained popularity in Germany, including in the past year.
In cities like Berlin, the name Muslim name was the most popular name for boys in 2022, while in 2021, it ranked third. Previously, Noah ranked first and Adam second, with Noah now dropping to second place for 2022.
In other cities, like Hesse and Bremen, Mohammed was at the top of the list of most common names for newborns, according to the annual survey from the German Language Society on Monday.
In Bremen, the first name Mohammed, which is the name of Islam’s most holy prophet, is no longer far behind from the top spot, moving from third to second place. In first place, there is Matheo and in third is Finn. Last year, the ranking was Finn, Noah, Mohammed.
In Hesse, Mohammed has also exploded in popularity, rising from eighth place to third. Noah is at the top while Matheo has dropped to second.
Among girls, names like Ella, Emma, Mila, and Sophie are continuing their streak at the top in three German states in 2022.
Data coming out of Germany shows the country is facing rapid demographic transformation, with the rise of Islamic names only one factor in the trend. For example, in most major cities, the majority of children have a migration background, including Hamburg. Overall, 38 percent of all children in the German school system have a migrant background, which has overwhelmed schools and led to a noted decline in reading and math results across the board. Increasing diversity within schools is also leading to conflict between students, increased violence, and teachers facing burnout.
Some have been enthusiastic about the growing demographic changes, such as German-Iranian author and commentator Behzad Karim Khan, who said migrants would “inherit” Germany:
I think we’re at a point now where we should have an honest look at the situation. Let’s start with the simple statement that we — migrants, foreigners, people with … call us what you like — are not going to leave that easily. And neither will you, dear organic Germans, though, demographically, you’re definitely going away. You’re dying out, and your country needs about 400,000 new workers (every year) over the next 15 years, that’s about a million immigrants a year. We migrants will probably inherit this land. So we could play for time here, which is time you don’t have.”
There are also significant differences between the east and west of Germany. In the west, the most popular names are Noah and Matheo, which have a Biblical reference, while German names like Emil and Karl are preferred in the east.
In Germany, Noah still remains at the top of the rankings nationwide.
Mohammed is increasingly a popular name across the West. It soared to the top of the rankings in one Irish city last year. In France, one in five newborns has an Islamic name, with Muhammad being the most popular. In Brussels, it is now the most common boy’s name given to all newborns.
Leftist policies start out seemingly reasonable and compassionate before they become totally monstrous. Initially, there are sympathetic test cases, they started out with arguing that raped 12-year-olds should be able to get an abortion, and then before you know, it’s partial-birth abortion for bored celebrities. Euthanasia was supposed to help those with fatal illnesses suffering a great deal of pain. And then, in typical fashion, it morphed into killing teenagers and the depressed.
Half of Canadians would agree to allow adults in Canada to seek medical assistance in dying due to an inability to receive medical treatment (51%) or a disability (50%). Fewer than three-in-ten would consent to expand the guidelines to include homelessness (28%) or poverty (27%) as reasons to seek medical assistance in dying.
Canadians are split when pondering if mental illness should be a justification for an adult to seek medical assistance in dying: 43% support this idea, while 45% are opposed.
That’s 1 in 4 on board with euthanasia for the poor and the homeless. Among the 18-34 crowd, it’s 40%.
And that means that this is the next bar. The conservatives will die off or be killed, leaving an exciting new electorate that has come around that the solution to a lot of problems might lie in killing inconvenient people.
