Belgium: An educational campaign about homophobia at a high school resulted in a show of force by Muslim students who shouted “Allah Akbar” and spat on the LGBT flag at the same time

Translation: Since the anonymity of these Muslim homophobes – let’s just call them that – is not to be preserved, the video was shot from a different angle and not blurred. In Genk, at a techno-college, these homophobes attacked an #Idaho education booth by yelling Allah Akbar and spitting.
Translation: Students with an #LGBTQ stand and a flag at a high school in #Belgium in the city of #Genk had to flee because Muslim youths “born and raised in the country” spat at the students and the flag and shouted “allahu akbar” to intimidate them.

Two city employees and a volunteer from the LGBTQIA+ organisation OGWA (Ook Genks Wel Anders) were attacked by students from Atlas College Techniek & Innovatie in Genk on Thursday. They were present as part of an action on diversity in society, marking the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHOT). The city of Genk and the school disapprove of this behaviour and are taking appropriate action.

Every year on May 17, IDAHOT takes place. On this day, the homosexual community celebrates the fact that the World Health Organisation removed homosexuality from the list of mental disorders in 1990. In our country, too, numerous actions take place in the run-up to IDAHOT and the rainbow flag is hoisted in the cities. On Wednesday, such an action was planned at Atlas College.

“We then sit down in the schoolyard during the break and hand out leaflets and rainbow hearts,” explained one of those attacked. “Not everyone always agrees with us, but yesterday the atmosphere was very oppressive. A group of young people gathered around our table and started booing us.”

Soon more and more students gathered around the table and according to the person being bullied, at one point there were over 100 as the situation escalated. “They didn’t stop shouting, throwing bottles and spitting on the rainbow hearts. We got help from the teachers who were present in the school yard and supported us until the school bell rang. At that moment, most of the young people returned to their classrooms and a calm was restored”.

The city administration strongly condemns the reaction of the fellow students. “I am deeply affected by this behaviour, I am stunned,” reacted Anniek Nagels (CD&V), the councillor for coexistence. “Genk stands for a respectful society where everyone is allowed to be who they are”. Mayor Wim Dries (CD&V) announced that the city would lodge a complaint and consult the Atlas College.

The school also strongly disapproves of this behaviour. “We are shocked by what happened yesterday, it is totally unacceptable,” said General Director Christel Schepers, “it does not fit with the cordiality that the school represents. For this reason, we are taking action. We will start a dialogue with the students in the coming weeks and address the issue together with the city.

Austrian conservatives slam German government intent on leading Europe to ‘suicide’

The European Union and, in particular, the German government under Chancellor Olaf Scholz are dangerously leading an assault against member state sovereignty and contributing to Europe’s “suicide,” Herbert Kickl, the president of the conservative Austrian Freedom Party (FPÖ) has said.

In a blistering attack on neighboring Germany, Kickl said the administration in Berlin, with the help of Brussels, is intent on creating a United States of Europe in which national governments are no more than shell administrations subservient to the overarching EU executive.

“The idea of a community for the benefit of citizens has now become a project of self-appointed elites who act from above against the interests of the people,” Kickl claimed.

He accused Brussels of pushing forward with its goal of “a centralist superstate in which the member states increasingly lose their importance and self-determination.”

“They want to take more and more powers away from the nation-states and transfer them to Brussels in order to create the United States of Europe over the heads of the citizens,” he said, adding that a conservative Austrian government under his leadership would ensure that the country’s sovereignty is preserved.

The remarks are a response to recent attempts by some EU member states, led by Germany, to remove the requirement of unanimity when voting on issues related to foreign policy and defense. German Chancellor Scholz has long claimed the European Union must switch to a qualified majority voting (QMV) system, a move critics argue will take sovereignty away from nation-states.

The push for QMV is being lobbied heavily by Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Slovenia and Spain. It would mean that key foreign policy issues could be pushed through the European Union with the consent of just 15 member states, providing those countries in favor comprise 65 percent of the EU population.

UK: Elementary School Teacher Fired After Refusing to Use ‘Transgender’ 8-Year-Old’s Preferred Pronouns

County Hall, West Bridgford, Alan Murray-Rust,  CC-BY-SA-2.0

An elementary school teacher in the UK reportedly lost her job after refusing to use a “transgender” eight-year-old’s preferred pronouns.

A Christian teacher in Britain, who cannot be named for child protection reasons, was reportedly fired from her job after refusing to use the preferred pronouns of an 8-year-old, whom other adults had judged to be “transgender”.

According to a report by The Telegraph, the school is said to have fully supported the female child’s social transition, instructing all staff to refer to the child using their male pronouns and name.

However, the teacher reportedly expressed significant misgivings about the situation, prompting accusations from school authorities that she was engaging in acts of “direct discrimination”, with the disagreement between the teacher and the school’s management eventually resulting in her being suspended.

While such a suspension was then eased after the Christian educator agreed to keep interactions with the child to a minimum and not use any of their old or new names or pronouns when communicating with them, she was nevertheless eventually fired after raising the issue of the child’s situation with her lawyers, which the school claims was an act of gross misconduct due to data protection laws.

The school has also reportedly reported her to the Teacher Regulation Agency for a breach of confidentiality regulations, which could result in a lifetime ban from teaching.

In response, the educator has launched a legal case against Nottinghamshire County Council — the authority that runs the school — claiming unfair dismissal and that she was discriminated against over her religion.

“Teachers are being bullied not to question trans-affirming policies when evidence shows that the actual result of the approach is to put the welfare of children at serious risk,” the teacher reportedly said regarding the case.

Numerous professionals within European education systems have come under enormous social and legal pressure from trans activists over “transgender” children in recent times, with one teacher in Ireland even being jailed after a row over a child’s transgender pronouns escalated last year.

UK: Newly Minted Muslim Councillor Suspended for Anti-Semitism

Shakeel Hussain, right, alongside another Tory candidate at local election count in Stockton

A newly elected councillor has been suspended by the Conservatives pending an investigation over antisemitic social media posts.

Shakeel Hussain – who won a seat on Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council – has had the Tory whip removed while an internal party inquiry examines old Facebook posts referring to Israel and “Zionist murderers”.

Jewish News had previously revealed Hussain had been blocked from standing as a Labour candidate in last week’s local elections, but was approved by the Tories.

After he was elected, Stockton Conservative Group leader Tony Riordan had appeared to welcome Hussain as a councillor.

Speaking in the House of Commons, the Labour MP for Stockton North, Alex Cunningham, said: “On Friday morning, Stockton Conservatives celebrated the election of Shakeel Hussain, despite his published statement that Israelis were ‘Zionist murderers’.”

“He was rejected by the Labour party for his antisemitic views”, Cunningham added, and “appears to have conned” the Tories.

Commons leader Penny Mordaunt said it was a matter for the Conservative party chairman.

“We have a proper process to look at all of these matters,” she told MPs.
Before the local elections, a Conservative spokesperson said: “We do not support the views shared in these social media posts.

“It is too late to remove Mr Hussain from the ballot paper under electoral law, but he would not be allowed to join the Conservative group on the council, if elected, until any investigations had been completed.

Hussain told the BBC he would offer his full assistance to the inquiry.
“Once the investigation is complete I will then consider making a public statement,” he added.

Even Hindu boys are not spared in Pakistan – either raped and killed or murdered in fake encounters

Kamal Maheshwari was killed by the police in an alleged encounter (image source Narain Das Bheel)

In Tando Allahyar district of Sindh, a minor Hindu boy named Naresh Kumar Bheel, a student of Class 6, was brutally killed after being raped earlier this month. Naresh’s body was found in a banana field close to Machhi Hotel.

(Video archived here)

This news spread like wildfire, forcing the to take note. The Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) in Tando Allahyar ordered an investigation and the accused has reportedly been apprehended although his identity was not revealed.

News of another minor Hindu boy being sexually abused had come from Umerkot, Sindh last month. According to sources, the accused, identified as Hasnain Khoso, forcibly raped the boy Sanjay Kumar in the Khosa Mohalla area.

Apart from rape, Hindu boys also face the constant threat of kidnapping for ransom, fake blasphemy charges to settle personal scores or just plain police brutality.

After Pakistan Police arrested two Hindu youths of Maheshwari community on the night of May 2 in Karachi, they allegedly demanded bribes from their relatives to release them. As the family couldn’t pay the bribe, Kamal Maheshwari (18) was killed in an alleged fake encounter by the SHO.

BBC Urdu report doesn’t mention any bribe being demanded, and states that the boys were returning around 11 PM after collecting some money when they were stopped by a police patrol. Later, the family was told that both Kamal and Anil are in lockup, but when the family reached they found Kamal had been killed. The mobile phones of the two boys had also been switched off by police.

The Maheshwari Hindu community vehemently protested the police’s actions and demanded justice for Kamal’s family. After their protest, the area SSP suspended the accused SHO. A sub-inspector has reportedly been arrested based on CCTV footage.

But knowing how ‘kafirs’ are treated as third-class citizens in Pakistan, it is highly likely that the accused in all these cases will be released sooner or later.

The Kerala Story shows cancelled in the UK over a delay in certification by the British Board of Film Certification, Netizens outraged

The Kerala Story poster

Sudipto Sen’s film The Kerala Story is continuing its phenomenal run at the Indian box office despite the controversies and efforts to ban the film. The Adah Sharma starrer was set to release in the United Kingdom on May 12, however, the films’s release has been deferred supposedly due to delays caused by the British Board of Film Certification (BBFC).

The moviegoers were surely upset with the development as they expressed their disappointment on Twitter. In response to a tweet by one ‘DesiDiva’, Cineworld, a British cinema operator said that the screening of The Kerala Story has been cancelled as the film did not receive an age rating on time for the film’s release on May 12.

“Hi, we are sorry that the upcoming performances of The Kerala Story have been cancelled. This is due to the film not receiving an age rating in time for the scheduled release date, all affected customers will be contacted and refunded. Apologies for any disappointment caused,” Cineworld tweeted.

Taking to Twitter, the BBFC informed that The Kerala Story is still going through its classification process adding that the film will be available for screening in the UK after receiving age rating and content advice.

“The Kerala Story is still going through our classification process. Once the film has received a BBFC age rating and content advice, it will be available to be screened in UK cinemas.”

Netizens called out BBFC for failing to give the film a classification before its scheduled release date and even questioned freedom of speech in the UK.

One Ravi Ladva wrote, “The #UK doesn’t get to lecture #India on free speech. The @BBFC decided not to give the #KeralaStory story a classification. Emails to customers without explanation. The hypocrisy of allowing multiple shows about various depictions of #ISIS – just not where Hindus are the victims?”

Another Twitter user named Malika pointed out that while The Kerala Story has been released in the USA, France, and Canada, the BBFC has yet given a certification.

“A movie playing in local Canadian and American cinemas is not being given certification by  @BBFC. That is the state of censorship in the UK. Then they want to lecture others on free speech. For reference the movie is sold out in Toronto theaters,” Malika tweeted.

One Adit who goes by the username (@ABritishIndian) called out the hypocrisy of the British government as he added that by delaying the release of The Kerala Story, the British government is demonstrating its “political madness”.

“The brazen duplicity & hypocrisy of the British government continues to loom over us. #KeralaStory which was unjustifiably delayed preventing the release on the basis of unclear technicalities at first by the @bbfc is not releasing in the UK theatres this weekend. This is not political correctness but political madness demonstrated by the agency. As part of the #BritishIndian diaspora, we would implore @NadineDorries @SuellaBraverman & @RishiSunak to intervene & ensure this telling story is allowed to be broadcasted in British theatres to ensure we can prevent more of our daughters getting swayed by Islamists & turning into #ShamimaBegum,” Adit tweeted.

Meanwhile, “Hindu Genocide Watch” highlighted that the BBFC usually certifies a film in one watch which means in one day, however, in the case of The Kerala Story, the BBFC is apparently causing a deliberate delay in issuing the certification.

While BBFC is yet to give certification to The Kerala Story, the film was released on 200 screens in the USA on Friday.

At the Indian box office, the movie, which had a relatively modest budget, proceeded to grow in momentum and managed to earn 81.36 crores in its initial seven days of release. It garnered 8.03 crore on its first day which was Friday.

The film’s story revolves around the life of Shalini Unnikrishnan, a Hindu girl played by Adah Sharma who is brainwashed into embracing Islam by her Muslim friend, married a Muslim man, and escapes to Syria along with her spouse where she is sent to ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) and is tortured there.
