Greatest Reset: Europe Could Achieve Net Zero by Demolishing its Historic Buildings and Starting Again, Says Italian Central Bank

A top central banker has warned of the damage the rush to ‘Net-Zero’ risks doing to Europe’s economy, and illustrates the point by noting erasing Europe’s built heritage would be necessary to meet extreme green demands.

Among comments by Paolo Angelini, deputy governor at the Bank of Italy about European Net Zero targets which, in his opinion, risk doing more harm than good, the central banker articulated what level of change would actually be needed from Europeans to meet those demands.

While saying pushing Europe to net zero risks destabilising the continent’s economy and undermining Europe’s ability to lead on green issues globally, the top economist made his point by revealing he’d asked his team at the Bank of Italy what would be necessary just to make the single institution that he leads compliant.

Angelini revealed the shocking response, remarking in an interview with Politico: “They told me: ‘If you allow us to tear down all our historical buildings and build energy efficient ones, then we can do it’.”

The Bank of Italy wouldn’t be committing itself to net zero any time soon, said Angelini. This was not because he didn’t believe in the cause, but simply because with the technology presently available, he didn’t think it was physically possible. He said: “For the time being I am refraining from raising my hand and saying at the Bank of Italy we’re going to net zero, because I don’t have the technology, the ability to be certain about the pledge.”

Reflecting on the central banker’s remarks — which may possibly have been tongue-in-cheek — Politico itself mused: “it’s a potent symbol of the trade-offs that the green transition demands: how much of Europe’s present — and past — is it willing to risk to secure its future?”.

The Bank of Italy itself is headquartered in the Palazzo Koch in Italy, an impressively grand 19th-century palace named for its architect which features a money museum and significant interiors and staterooms.

While study after study shows the general public far prefers traditional architecture, the matter does fall on partisan lines to some degree. U.S. President Donald Trump signed an order requiring a classical architectural style (Roman or Greek revival) for Federal buildings: President Biden revoked it. In the United Kingdom, an advisor to hard-left London mayor Sadiq Khan said traditional architecture is “offensive” because it, in her view, “harks back to oppression”.

The French government wanted a modernist rebuild of Notre Dame Cathedral after the devastating fire in 2019, and fought a sustained battle against traditionalists in parliament and the public to get their vision. In the end, the traditionalists won a full historic rebuild.

While net-zero extremists could demolish historic buildings with promises of more environmentally friendly modern replacements, it isn’t as if architects today have the answers. As previously reported, recent modern grand projects to create homes for large governmental organisations have run considerably over budget and over time compared to their traditional architecture alternatives.

In One particularly egregious case, the Scottish Parliament cost four times its budget and has needed remedial work on its roof since, as the aggressively modernist design failed to meet the most basic and ancient requirement for a building: that it keeps the rain out.

Police investigate after Zimbabwean media claims triple murder suspect fled to Ireland under false name

Irish authorities have launched an investigation after a Zimbabwean national newspaper reported a man wanted for the murder of three people in the African nation is living in Ireland having claimed asylum under a false name.

The Sunday Mail newspaper reported that businessman Peter Dube had been put on Interpol’s most wanted list after Zimbabwean authorities claimed the 37-year-old man — who is wanted for a triple murder in 2021 and also a separate attempted murder charge — fled the country to southern Africa and changed his name before traveling to Ireland where he claimed asylum.

“Ongoing investigations confirm that he disappeared and left the country,” said police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi.

The police investigation followed Dube to Eswatini, formerly known as Swaziland, where he began living under the false name of Xolile Mtsali.

“He then relocated to Ireland, where he sought asylum,” added Nyathi, who confirmed the Zimbabwe authorities were determined to bring the mass murder suspect back to the country to face justice.

The alleged crimes pertain to a single attack in April 2021 in Dube’s home city of Gweru in central Zimbabwe.

Dube, a second-hand car salesman, allegedly confronted his wife, Nyasha Nharingo, and her suspected lover outside an apartment in the city before fatally shooting the lover, Shelton Chinhango. He then shot his wife’s best friend, Gamuchirai Mudungwe, in the chest who died instantly before shooting Nyasha herself and her sister, Nyaradzo.

Nyasha managed to survive the attack; however, her sister was later pronounced dead in the hospital.

According to Zimbabwean authorities, shortly after arriving in Dublin, Dube helped another wife, Nomatter Chawana, follow him to the country with his children under a new identity.

They claim the family is now living as asylum seekers at the Red Cow Moran Hotel in the Republic of Ireland’s capital.

According to an Irish Mirror report on Thursday, Irish authorities are conducting an investigation into the intelligence provided by the African nation.

A source told the paper: “We are happy he is not at the facility named in the media and we have found zero evidence that he is here at all. Inquiries are continuing, but at this stage there is nothing to suggest he is in Ireland.

It added that the Interpol Red Notice that Dube is subject to “does not confer any powers of arrest. All we can do if we find him here is notify authorities in Zimbabwe and then it will be up to them to ask Ireland to arrest him and send him back.”

The investigation is ongoing.

The Harm Caused by Masks – A new study documents major health consequences

Evidence continues to mount that mask mandates were perhaps the worst public-health intervention in modern American history. While concluding that wearing masks “probably makes little or no difference” in preventing the spread of viruses, a recent Cochrane review also emphasized that “more attention should be paid to describing and quantifying the harms” that may come from wearing masks. A new study from Germany does just that, and it suggests that the excess carbon dioxide breathed in by mask-wearers may have substantial ill-effects on their health—and, in the case of pregnant women, their unborn children’s.

Mask-wearers breathe in greater amounts of air that should have been expelled from their bodies and released out into the open. “[A] significant rise in carbon dioxide occurring while wearing a mask is scientifically proven in many studies,” write the German authors. “Fresh air has around 0.04% CO2,” they observe, while chronic exposure at CO2 levels of 0.3 percent is “toxic.” How much CO2 do mask-wearers breathe in? The authors write that “masks bear a possible chronic exposure to low level carbon dioxide of 1.41–3.2% CO2 of the inhaled air in reliable human experiments.”

In other words, while eight times the normal level of carbon dioxide is toxic, research suggests that mask-wearers (specifically those who wear masks for more than 5 minutes at a time) are breathing in 35 to 80 times normal levels.

The German study, a scoping review of existing research, aimed “to investigate the toxicological effects of face masks in terms of CO2 rebreathing on developing life, specifically for pregnant women, children, and adolescents.” The latter two groups, of course, have been among those most frequently subjected to mask mandates in schools, despite Covid’s low levels of risk for them and the evidence that masks don’t work.

What can breathing too much carbon dioxide do to you? The authors write that “at levels between 0.05% and 0.5% CO2,” one might experience an “increased heart rate, increased blood pressure and overall increased circulation with the symptoms of headache, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, dizziness, rhinitis, and dry cough.” Rates above 0.5 percent can lead to “reduced cognitive performance, impaired decision-making and reduced speed of cognitive solutions.” Beyond 1 percent, “the harmful effects include respiratory acidosis, metabolic stress, increased blood flow and decreased exercise tolerance.” Again, mask-wearers are likely breathing in CO2 levels between 1.4 percent and 3.2 percent—well above any of these thresholds. What’s more, “Testes metabolism and cell respiration have been shown to be inhibited increasingly by rising levels of CO2.”

So, high blood pressure, reduced thinking ability, respiratory problems, and reproductive concerns are among the many possible results of effectively poisoning oneself by breathing in too much carbon dioxide.

The authors write that “it is clear that carbon dioxide rebreathing, especially when using N95 masks, is above the 0.8% CO2 limit set by the US Navy to reduce the risk of stillbirths and birth defects on submarines with female personnel who may be pregnant.” In other words, mandates have forced pregnant women to wear masks resulting in levels of CO2 inhalation that would be prohibited if they were serving on a Navy submarine.

Indeed, according to the authors, there exists “circumstantial evidence that popular mask use may be related to current observations of a significant rise of 28% to 33% in stillbirths worldwide and a reduced verbal, motor, and overall cognitive performance of two full standard deviations in scores in children born during the pandemic.” They cite recent data from Australia, which “shows that lockdown restrictions and other measures (including masks that have been mandatory in Australia), in the absence of high rates of COVID-19 disease, were associated with a significant increase in stillborn births.” Meantime, “no increased risk of stillbirths was observed in Sweden,” which famously defied the public-health cabal and went its own way in setting Covid policies.

As for countries where mask-wearing has long been common, the authors write, “Even before the pandemic, in Asia the stillbirth rates have been significantly higher” than in Eurasia, Oceania, or North Africa.

“It has to be pointed out that this data on the toxicity of carbon dioxide on reproduction has been known for 60 years,” the authors observe. For this reason, they write, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), which is part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), has CO2 threshold limits of 3 percent for 15 minutes and 0.5 percent for eight hours in workplace ambient air. Yet the CDC has been perhaps the primary pusher of masks in the United States.

Nor is increased CO2 intake the only health danger that results from wearing masks. The study focused only on CO2, but the authors note that “other noxious agents in the masks contribute to toxicological long-term effects like the inhalation of synthetic microfibers, carcinogenic compounds and volatile organic compounds.” They add that “the increased carbon dioxide content of the breathing air behind the mask may also lead to a displacement of oxygen.” Masks are also uncomfortable and unhygienic, and they profoundly compromise human social interaction.

In light of all this, it seems indefensible to mandate—or even to advise—the wearing of masks, especially among the young. The authors write, “Keeping in mind the weak antiviral mask efficacy, the general trend of forcing mask mandates even for the vulnerable subgroups is not based on sound scientific evidence and not in line with the obligation in particular to protect born or unborn children from potential harmful influences.”

Public-health officials—and the executive-branch leaders who credulously listened to them—ignored centuries of Western norms, the best medical evidence, and common sense, deciding that their own novel and evidence-free course was the one that all of society should be forced to follow. We should never again indulge such an obvious and destructive misstep.

‘They said not wearing burqa is like prostitution,’ Hindu victim talks about how Maulanas and Muslim friends coerced her into wearing Islamic outfits

On Tuesday, May 16, OpIndia met with some victims from Kerala who had fallen victim to the systematised crime of indoctrination in the name of Islam, which has been going on in various parts of the country with the help of various Islamic organisations.

In our first report, we detailed parts of our conversation with Shruti, a Brahmin and native of Kasargod in Kerala where she explained how this cartel follows a pre-planned step-by-step process to bring vulnerable and ignorant people into the folds of Islam. Sharing her own life experience, Shruti told OpIndia that she was radicalised to the extent that she wouldn’t shy away from killing a person who objected to the ideology and did not convert to Islam.

As the discussion progressed, Shruti explained how this cartel brainwashes its prey to not only hate one’s own religion but completely surrender themselves to Islam. Shruti said that they trick you into believing that their lifestyle and attire are the only acceptable forms for any woman to adopt.

“They said not wearing a burqa is like prostitution,” Shruti recalled being told by the maulanas, her Muslim friends and colleagues, which completely convinced her to wear a burqa she said.

“Whenever I spoke to the Maulanas, my Muslim friends, or associates, they all told me that if I wanted my Namaz and Roza to be valid, I needed to legally convert to Islam. They told me to start acting like an actual Muslim woman. They spun various stories about the significance of a burqa in order to persuade me to wear one. They said stuff like- when men see your bare skin, that’s prostitution. You will end up in prostitution without even realising it,” Shruti explained, revealing how this cartel cleverly manipulates you to mindlessly follow its ideals and practises.

Another victim Vishali Shetty also shared her experience of conversion. She said, “My radicalisation and my brainwashing into Islam happened in my workplace. I was working in an IT company in Bengaluru. I started in Kerala and then went to Bengaluru. This is when my radicalisation into Islam started. My colleagues approached me. They started asking me questions about my Dharma which initially I tried to defend with common sense and logic but later I did not have answers to their questions. So at that time, there started creating confusion in my mind. They could sense that void and they started feeding me with Islamic ideologies by presenting their ideologies in such a way that it appears to be logical and one starts thinking that what they say is right. You start feeling that what Dharma you have been following till now, what culture you followed till now all these years in your life is totally wrong. So that is how it happened to me,” she said.

Vishali, however, said that was not radicalised to the extent that she started following Islamic practices like wearing a burqa and offering Namaz. She said she realised soon that she was being trapped. “I was able to come in contact with the Arsh Vidya Samajam from where we were able to understand the fallacies of the radicalisation and come back to the Sanatana Dharma once again,” Vishali asserted.

In our previous report, we detailed parts of the interview where Shruti went on to describe how they question their targets’ religious practices, and when they see the target has no idea how to respond, they begin condemning their faith even more passionately and dangerously, creating a sense of inferiority complex in the individual. Shruti mentioned that they put you in a position where you develop such an aversion to your faith that you don’t even want to consider or talk about it.

When the victim reaches this level, they paint such an appealing portrayal of their ideas, culture, and religion that the person gets completely riveted. As the victim reaches an addiction stage, they begin injecting their ideological views into your system like slow poison, Shruti described the systematic and methodical method that these cartels operating in various parts of the country, particularly in South India, employ to carry out this organized crime.

This organized process of indoctrination in the name of Islam, which Shruti spoke about, is a raging issue that has been very well depicted in Sudipto Sen’s The Kerala Story which has been breaking all box office records since it hit the theatres on May 5, 2023. The movie tells the story of ‘ISIS brides’ from Kerala, women from the state who had joined ISIS and married ISIS terrorists in Syria, including Hindu and Christian women who had converted to Islam.

Though the movie is based on true incidents, since the release of its trailer, opposition particularly the left and the Congress, and Islamist groups, have been attempting to delegitimize the movie.

They went on to label it as propaganda cinema and tried to prevent its screening. Despite the criticism, however, the movie has inspired people to promote ‘The Kerala Story’ among Hindu women on their own. It has also made people realize how they didn’t recognize the efforts to influence them earlier.

OpIndia reported on Anagha Jaigopal and Vishali Shetty, two such women who narrated their experiences of conversion and coming back to the Sanatana Dharma. They described in detail their experience and testified that the film depicts the reality of what is happening in not just Kerala or other states in the country but across the globe.

OpIndia also wrote about one such Hindu woman who, after seeing the movie, shared her own life experience with the media. The woman said that indoctrination in the name of Islam documented in the movie is not a figment of anyone’s imagination but a real problem raging across not only India but the world. She confessed how she herself had fallen prey to this trap when she was in college.

‘From our perspective, it is the Western countries that violate the rule of law by allowing children and elderly people to be killed,’ says Polish lawyer and human rights expert Jerzy Kwaśniewski

Polish MEP Jerzy Kwaśniewski speaks at CPAC.

As a lawyer and the chairman of Ordo Iuris, the Polish lawyers’ organization, I know you for being very good at giving definitions. Could you define this woke ideology everybody talks about at CPAC Budapest? I heard you talk of “totalitarian woke” during your speech…

The best definition was in fact given yesterday by Prime Minister Orbán who talked about different variants of the same virus of neo-Marxist ideologies threatening the roots of our civilization, wokeness being all those new variants of neo-Marxism like gender ideology, LGBT ideology, and the pressure to limit freedom of speech and freedom of academic research. These are now threatening the foundations of what was called once Latin civilization or Judeo-Christian civilization, which was based on human dignity, individual freedoms, and basic unalienable rights and liberties, creating an environment for the pursuit of individual happiness. This was inscribed in the preamble of the American Constitution, but in fact was taken from a very European, very Christian, and very Thomistic philosophy. Wokeness is everything that is built up today to negate those foundations and to build up a new society and a new man with a utopian totalitarian state.

So, you are saying wokeism is a kind of neo-Marxism, right?

Yes, because it brings this promise of everlasting peace and everlasting happiness for everybody. And as we know as Christians, those promises will not be fulfilled on Earth.

So, I understand that what we call gender theory or gender ideology is part of wokeism. Can we say it’s like a branch of wokeism?

It’s part of wokeism because wokeism being the newest variant of the Marxist virus aims to segregate and divide societies and then to give them class identities, provoking war between those class identities in order to give the power to those who are expressing the volonté générale, those who are self aware of the situation. So yes, it is going back of course to Marxism, it is going back to Jean-Jacques Rousseau, it is going back to the very roots of the liberalism that threatened classical Christianitas, which was a union, not a division of all the peoples.

During your speech here at CPAC Hungary, I heard you talk about the new rights linked to this new ideology, and you mentioned the right to abortion and the right to transition to another “gender,” i.e., a new sex. About abortion, I know many Western European conservatives or self-claimed conservatives who think abortion is a right. So, what can you tell them?

From the legal point of view, not a single international human rights treaty or document declares abortion to be a right. Because if there is a right, there is an obligation of others to provide you with abortion, and there is no such obligation and no right to abortion. Of course, separate countries may enact these kinds of provisions in their laws on their own soil, but on the human rights level, there is no right to abortion. But at the same time, there is a right to life, there is a legal international protection of life, and many countries — in fact, a majority of countries — interpret those provisions of the international human legal system to include also the life of a human being before birth, i.e., the life of the human being at the stage of fetal development.

Poland is among those countries. And in the world, most African countries, countries in the Americas, and many other countries follow the same traditional approach that was also shared by the authors of the human rights treaties in the 1950s and 1960s, who clearly wanted to include unborn life in the protection of life as well.

Today, of course, we know that it is challenged by many countries. There is especially a European-centric approach that wants to challenge this protection of life, but it is a slippery slope if we grant power to the state to exclude anybody from the general and universal protection of life, because then the state would be under pressure to exclude the next groups and then the next groups, and then again the next groups, etc.

And, of course, next come the elderly people or the ill people who are the candidates for euthanasia, and maybe even against their will, which we know is happening in some countries. And then other groups as well may be deprived of those fundamental guarantees.

So, your message to Western European conservatives would be: If you want to reverse this trend, if you want a real counter-revolution, you have to go back to the beginning of this slippery slope…

You have to go back to the beginning, meaning to the natural law. And it was the idea of the authors of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, it was the idea of Jacques Maritain to prepare a document that would be a catalog of unalienable natural rights for which there was the broadest consensus, a global consensus of all countries, all nations of the world. And it was the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and of course the right to life, the right to marriage of a man and a woman, the right to private property, freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, and basic political freedoms. It is a very selected set of unalienable rights and, if we want to have a strong human rights system, we need to stick to this set.

As we are broadening the scope of human rights, we are trying to create and implement new human rights, and then there is no global consensus. What’s more, the new human rights trample over old human rights. The right to be protected against hate speech tramples over freedom of speech. The right to abortion tramples over the right to life, and so on and so on.

How do you explain the fact that the EU, the institutions of the European Union, are on one side of this conflict of rights? They actively promote the right to abortion, although the regulation of abortion is not a competency of the EU. They promote “LGBT rights.” Why?

It is just the political choice of the bureaucrats and of the few elected politicians that are in the European, Union — as most of them are not elected by the general public — to promote ideas and ideologies that they believe will be supportive for their political careers. But of course, they are doing it outside of the boundaries of the powers of the European Union. The EU has very strictly written boundaries of its powers in the treaties, and abortion is outside of that, of course, as is family law. So, the definition of marriage, in many countries of the European Union, is still a traditional definition of marriage, as it was in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which means that a man and a woman form a marriage. And it is outside of the scope of the powers of the European Union to dictate anything else to the member states. It is even against its own motto: “United in diversity.”

We often raise this issue that we are diverse, that Central European countries do differ. We have a different traditional approach. We have our own constitutional identities. They may be different than those of Western countries, and we have to respect each other. We do not want to set the internal laws of Spain or France, but we do not want them to get involved in our internal issues either.

We often hear that all this conflict, which has been going on for years about the rule of law and European values — which European values? — is actually a conflict with countries, mostly Poland and Hungary, that are still attached to this traditional definition of human rights.

This traditional definition of human rights is a definition of the rule of law. If anybody transgresses the definition of human rights, they in fact violate the rule of law. From our perspective, it is the Western countries that violate the rule of law by allowing children in the womb of their mothers to be killed, by allowing elderly people to be killed, and by other actions or omissions that from our point of view are atrocities against the human rights system.

But there is another side to this story as well. When I was speaking to members of the European Judicial Network a few years ago, just after our judiciary reforms were started in Poland, they clearly expressed their opinion that even though Poland is implementing solutions very similar to the Germans or Spanish, we are not entitled to do so because Spain and Germany are old democracies with a tradition of democracy and we are new democracies and need a higher level of formal guarantees. Of course, such differentiation is nowhere to be found in the treaties. In the treaties, all the member states are equal. And if we are going to delve into history, then we can ask the question of who has an older democracy in Europe — France or Poland, Spain or Poland — and Poland will probably win this competition.

It seems to me that at the international level, the EU is not the only threat to real human rights. Ordo Uris has been alerting about the World Health Organization, about its gender ideology, the WHO recommendations for sexual education in Europe dating back to 2010, and now there is this new draft anti-pandemic treaty. So do we also have a problem with the World Health Organization?

We do have a problem with the World Health Organization, and we do have a problem with the United Nations and all its agendas. It is a very similar problem to the problem with the European Union: They all have the same virus of wokeness, the same virus of global management. Those are the same elites and even the same people involved in all those institutions around the world, unelected people without any democratic legitimization of their power. However, at their disposal are the many billions of dollars poured into international organizations and their tremendous power over sovereign states.

At the same time, their approach to the world’s diversity is a top-down approach of a global manager who wants to control everything everywhere, believing that he has the best solution for everyone. As all businessmen know, especially the successful ones, to have one solution for everything is a short path to disaster.

What we propose to the WHO and to the U.N. is to go back to the documents, their founding documents, and to realize that they should be facilitators of regional growth, of regional solutions, and not global managers.

Unfortunately, they are doing something absolutely different with this pandemic treaty or pandemic amendment that is now being negotiated in the WHO. They would like to have new powers over sovereign states. In short, they would like to implement lockdowns, to implement pandemic measures without consent of the sovereign governments or sovereign parliaments. In fact, most of our sovereignty would be given to the WHO when it announces that there is a pandemic, which is something absolutely impossible to agree upon. However, they are taking advantage of the fact that many countries in the world are not aware of the danger of these kinds of solutions at the international level. They want more and more power and then they will be asking for more and more money and then there will be more and more global management and more and more local disasters.

Could you tell us what is the action of the Polish lawyers’ organization Ordo Iuris at the international level, at the U.N., the EU, and elsewhere?

It is now the 10th anniversary of Ordo Iuris, and since 2016, we have had an official consultative status at the United Nations. So, our lawyers and experts are often guests during U.N. committees and in working groups dealing with different issues, and very often they are the only voice that reminds people about unalienable rights and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It is very important because, on this level, there is need for universal consent. If there is any opposition, then the dialogue will continue. So, our role very often is to show representatives of many countries that there are traditional conservative countries, that they do have the support of lawyers, of some professionals in Europe. This is very important, especially for the countries of the southern hemisphere. And we are doing very similar work in Europe, in the Council of Europe, in international tribunals like the European Court of Human Rights and the European Court of Justice, and sometimes even in constitutional courts of different nations when they are considering cases that are important for basic human rights.

Lauren Heike as Another Victim of Transsexual Violence

twitter

Looks like the heartbreaking murder of Lauren Heike, who was stabbed at least 15 times on an Arizona hiking trail, can be added to the growing list of recent transsexual violence.

Police have compelling video and DNA evidence against Zion William Teasley.

When shown a picture of Heike, Teasley recognized her and admitted that he “wanted to look like her.”

Teasley told cops that he has struggled with his sexuality.

In addition, a scan through LinkedIn profiles suggested that Teasley may not necessarily identify as male and that he does believe in preferred pronouns. A profile reportedly created by Teasley lists “they/them” pronouns next to his name, and the background photo encourages those who visit his page to “amplify black voices.”

The establishment-endorsed combination of LGBTism and Afrocentrism calls to mind cat-torturing gay BLM activist Rashad Gober. Lots of moonbattery has been poured into Teasley’s head, fermented with mental illness, and allowed to express itself as you might expect.

Maya McKinneySnochia MoseleyAnderson Lee AldrichAudrey HaleMoses LopezWilliam WhitworthShanu Varma. “Lara.” Think of how long the list of apparent transsexual violence that has been threatened or actually inflicted would be if the media were not so committed to pretending it does not exist that it joins the federal government in framing terrorism committed by transsexuals as if it were committed against them.

It’s almost as if there were some link between senseless violence and crazy people being egged on in their delusions and allowed to run amok (Teasley was loose after accepting a plea deal for armed robbery, burglary, aggravated assault, and kidnapping in 2020). But no, the liberal establishment informs us the rising tide of mayhem is caused by our fundamental right of self-defense.

Harry and Meghan cook up a new ‘victim’ narrative

Wikimedia Commons , Mark Jones, CC-BY-2.0

By Monica Showalter

It’s the oldest trick in the pulp fiction writer’s playbook:

Make the reader feel sorry for the poor schmuck you’ve cast as protagonist.

Which bring us to Meghan and Harry, who are nothing if not practiced in the related art of public relations:

According to Sister Toldjah at RedState:

I try to pay as little attention as possible to the trials and tribulations of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, but it has been impossible to ignore the story that broke Wednesday on what they alleged was a “near-catastrophic car chase” their spokesman says occurred Tuesday night after attending an awards ceremony in New York City, where Markle was given the Gloria Steinem-inspired “Ms. Foundation’s Women of Vision” award by Steinem herself.

“Last night, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Ms. [Doria] Ragland [Markle’s mother] were involved in a near catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi. This relentless pursuit, lasting over two hours, resulted in multiple near collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians and two NYPD officers,” the statement read.

“While being a public figure comes with a level of interest from the public, it should never come at the cost of anyone’s safety. Dissemination of these images, given the ways in which they were obtained, encourages a highly intrusive practice that is dangerous to all in [sic] involved.”

Poor Meghan. Even poorer Harry, who remains all so traumatized by the death of his mother, “People’s Princess” Diana, in a Paris tunnel after a high speed chase, supposedly fleeing the papparazzi in 1997. In Harry’s Apple TV docu-series, he said that incident led him to drink and do drugs and go out with Meghan.

Stand by for a relapse.

There’s just one problem though with this neat narrative of good Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan and bad papparazzi constantly following them around to perdition.

It’s called ‘facts.’

New York’s cops say the Sussex’s account doesn’t match with facts they knew:

According to RedState, citing ABC News:

Police sources described to ABC News a different version of events from the one described by Harry and Meghan’s spokesperson.

Two New York Police Department detectives were present at the Ziegfeld when Harry and Meghan emerged from the event and drove alongside the couple’s private vehicle to get them home.

Along the way, police sources said photographers on bicycles are visible on security cameras but not the kind of caravan described by sources close to Harry and Meghan.

The police interaction with the couple lasted no more than 20 minutes, according to police sources. If the episode lasted the two hours Meghan and Harry say it did, it was due to their own security wanting to avoid revealing where they were staying, not because they were being chased, the sources said.

According to the NYPD’s official statement, they “assisted the private security team protecting the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. There were numerous photographers that made their transport challenging. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived at their destination and there were no reported collisions, summonses, injuries, or arrests in regard.”

The papparazzi apparently protested it wasn’t true, as well — in the RedState account here.

Which pretty well puts the Sussexes in Jussie Smollett territory, as Sister Toldjah observes, making themselves fake victims in an incident that never happened, in order to restart their careers on a wave of public sympathy.

The Daily Mail explained what Meghan and Harry were really up to this way:

On the surface [Meghan Markle] was in town to receive a Women Of Vision award at a gala to mark the 50th anniversary of the Ms. Foundation For Women — the organisation set up by veteran feminist Gloria Steinem. But this was no ordinary celebrity back-slapping affair; rather it was a waymark on what increasingly looks like an attempt to relaunch — and quite possibly save — the Sussex brand.

In the U.S., polls and commentators have been saying for months that even Americans — with their huge appetite for soap opera and instinctive sympathy for a supposedly wronged compatriot — were tiring of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s endless bleating about so-called royal injustice and their alleged mistreatment in Britain.

It is uncharted territory for a couple who were lionised by the American media as their royals in exile, celebrated for their authenticity and apparent liberation from the rigid formality of the House of Windsor.

In January, a poll for Newsweek — one of their principal cheerleaders — revealed that in just a month, Prince Harry’s popularity had plunged 45 points in U.S. public opinion, while Meghan’s had tumbled 36 points.

The poll had been conducted just before the publication of Harry’s memoir Spare but after the release of a Netflix documentary series which gave the couple’s side of Megxit.

Nearly half of Americans, 44 per cent, said the Prince was wrong to include details of private family conversations in his book, while only 26 per cent said he was right to do so. These are numbers which cannot be ignored.

Well, those are pretty high barriers for anyone ever hoping to regain respect from their now-lost audience. What better then than to make them victims?

Again. They’ve been playing the victim card for a long time, and well, they aren’t exactly loved for it, though it seems to sell Harry’s tell-all books about life in the British royal family.

They even had a buddy shill for them for Newsweek, (and not for the first time) just in case nobody caught the ‘narrative’:

Christopher Bouzy, the founder of data analysis firm Bot Sentinel and social network Spoutible, came out in support of the couple’s account of a “near catastrophic” chase after the NYPD appeared to downplay its severity.

He also called for reform in how the media treats public figures more widely, citing the echoes of the death of Princess Diana in a 1997 Paris car crash while fleeing paparazzi.

“I strongly condemn the reckless behavior of the paparazzi who chased Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in New York City,” Bouzy told Newsweek. “This dangerous incident not only put the lives of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at risk but also endangered countless innocent bystanders and drivers in the vicinity.

“The incident echoes the tragic circumstances of Princess Diana’s death, where the persistent pursuit by paparazzi contributed to her fatal car accident,” he said. “This parallel is a poignant reminder of the potential deadly consequences of such reckless behavior, and reinforces the need for a change in the way media interacts with public figures.”

Ah yes: Tragedy. Victims. Reform. A new cause! The narrative is all planned out pretty well.

Beyond the whole story apparently never even happening, here’s what’s most disgusting about this whole claimed encounter:

Harry and Meghan are now private citizens. They attracted papparazzi through their publicity machines, tell-all books, photo spreads, Instagrams, and interviews and can’t have it both ways, complaining about how they just appeared. Their hunt for fame and celebrity was a lightbulb to moths and sure enough, they drew them.

What’s more they don’t get to speed away from papparazzi at hellfire speeds no matter how annoying the papparazzi are. Based on their self-chosen jobs, the papparazzi can snap away, New York streets are not their private roads and they don’t have special capacities to limit the First Amendment, which they have repeatedly expressed their problems with. They picked that job that attracts papparazzi, not the rest of us, and certainly not the people they share the road with in New York City, and got what comes of it.

What the heck were they driving away from anyway that they didn’t want the papparazzi to see, a trip to the Epstein mansion? The cops should have given them a speeding ticket for reckless driving.

As for the parallels to Diana’s death, yes, that was a sad story, but what the heck was the speeding about? The post-mortem reports had it that the driver, Henri Paul, was drunk and shouldn’t have been at the wheel at all given his impaired driving, which combined with papparazzi chasings, led to a lethal outcome.

Was Harry and Meghan’s cab driver drunk, too? Who was pressuring him to drive too fast?

Meanwhile, Diana herself unwittingly contributed to her own death by failing to wear her seatbelt the way most of us do. Investigators into the crash reported that she would have had an 80% chance of surviving her drunk-driving wreck had she just buckled up.

Can we have an update on whether Harry and Meghan had their seat belts fastened?

It’s details like these that make the whole stunt so distasteful. Who are these clowns who, having run out sympathy from the public, to try to exploit Harry’s mother’s death for their own money-purposes? Why should anyone believe their story when the cops won’t back it up?

It looks like a bid to draw sympathy since nothing else about these grifters is sympathetic. Spare us the glurge.

Hunter Biden works in favor of Islamist party in Bangladesh

US President Joe Biden’s scandalous son Hunter Biden, who has earlier met with State Department official on behalf Gabriel Popoviciu, a corrupt Romanian real estate tycoon in exchange for US$1 million when Joe Biden was vice president in 2016, has been now working for Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), a hardcore Islamist political party in Bangladesh and been vigorously pushing several agendas set by BNP.

A review of emails and documents on Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop reveal a March 2016 meeting with then-US ambassador to Romania Hans Klemm on the topic of a corruption case against Gabriel Popoviciu. According to information, Popoviciu made more than US$1 million in wire payments to Hunter Biden from November 2015 to June 2017 as he battled corruption charges in his home country. Being a paid lobbyist of Gabriel Popoviciu, Hunter Biden met twice with Ambassador Hans Klemm, first in November 2015 and again in March 2016.

Emails show, at that time, Hunter Biden was a consultant for a law firm named Boies Schiller Flexner and worked with lawyers from the firm to lobby the US embassy in Bucharest to intervene in Gabriel Popoviciu’s case. Law firm Boies Schiller partner Christopher Boies told Biden in a September 1, 2015 email that his law partner – whom he never identified—was “best friends” with the newly appointed ambassador to Romania, Hans Klemm.

According to US Congress Oversight report, Gabriel Popoviciu’s first wire payment amounting to US$59,900 was sent to Hunter Biden on November 9, 2015. Four days after that, Hunter Biden and Boies Schiller partner Michael Gottlieb discussed a meeting with Ambassador Hans Klemm and provided him reports about the Popoviciu case, which they said showed the corruption charges were bogus. The emails indicate that Biden attended the meeting, and Biden’s calendar shows a meeting with Klemm at Lapis restaurant in Washington, DC, on March 30, 2016.

Emails show that Hans Klemm was receptive to the reports and arranged meetings for the Biden consortium with Romanian officials. On May 17, 2016, Gottlieb contacted Klemm to seek help in meeting with Romania’s anti-corruption service, the DNA. Gottlieb wrote to Hunter Biden and others that “the USEMB [US Embassy] has primed this for us”.

Neither Hunter Biden nor Boies Schiller registered as lobbyists for Gabriel Popoviciu, who was ultimately convicted of bribery in 2017 and sentenced to seven years in prison.

It may be mentioned here that the Lobbying Disclosure Act requires individuals to disclose their lobbying activity to Congress, and the Foreign Agents Registration Act requires them to disclose lobbying on behalf of foreign nationals to the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Commenting on this Republican Congressman Darrell Issa who is a member of the House Judiciary Committee said: “the Justice Department’s disinterest in Hunter Biden’s lobbying shows there is one set of rules for the president’s family and one for everyone else”.

Earlier the Washington Free Beacon in a report said that Hunter Biden and lawyers from Boies Schiller hatched a plan in 2014 to meet with State Department officials on behalf of Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian gas company whose owner was accused of bribery. A Boies Schiller partner wrote to Biden that she would arrange State Department meetings and conduct other activity “right up to the line” where the firm would have to register as a lobbyist.

BNP-Jamaat lobbyist bids in the United States

For several years, Hunter Biden has connections with a consulting-cum-lobbyist firm named Blue Star Strategies, which had earlier registered its work for the Ukrainian company Burisma under the Foreign Agents Registration Act. Through the same company Hunter Biden also crafted a plan to lobby the State Department on behalf of the Chinese private equity firm BHR Partners.

On January 17, 2022, Bangladesh’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam told reporters that Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has spent US$3.75 million for a US lobbyist firm as part of their anti-Bangladesh campaign.

The BNP hired US lobbyist firms called Akin Company Associates, Blue Star Strategies and Rasky Partners while Jamaat signed agreements with an organization named ‘Peace and justice’. According to information obtained from the US, BNP spent US$2.7 million annually from February 2015 to April 2017. It spent US$120,000 per month in retainer fees.

According to information obtained by this newspaper, Blue Star Strategies was hired by BNP through Abdus Sattar, an UK-based leader of the party in August 2018. Agendas behind appointing Blue Star Strategies by BNP were to “promote the goals of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) for the upcoming [2018 general elections] elections in Bangladesh”.

In addition, Blue Star Strategies also developed a strategy “that educates officials, policy influencers and the media [in the United States] about the BNP and its interests in free and fair elections” and drafted a “narrative to communicate the BNP’s goals”.

The contract was signed by Abdus Sattar as an individual – but the documentation suggests that he was acting on behalf of the BNP. In the section of the form which states that the name of the “foreign principal” was Abdul Sattar, it is confirmed that he is a “foreign political party”, meaning, Bangladesh Nationalist Party.

In addition, in the section of submitted documentation asking for details “if the foreign principal is a foreign political party”, Blue Star Strategies stated: “Bangladesh Nationalist Party, 28, 1 VIP Rd, Dhaka 1205, Bangladesh”.

The documents confirmed that there were payments made to Blue Star Strategies which totaled at least US$278,582 over a two-year period. An amount of US$10,000 was paid to Blue Star Strategies in August 2018, another payment of US$197,790 in September 2018 and US$70,792 between March to September 2019.

The last payment was made from an account at the Singapore-based Overseas-Chinese Banking Corporation Ltd. It may be mentioned here that BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman and his business partner Giaus Uddin Mamun were also banking with the Overseas-Chinese Banking Corporation (OCBC).

As part of the same contract with Blue Star Strategies, another lobbyist firm named Rasky Partners was paid US$86,627 by Blue Star Strategies to work with it in lobbying for the Bangladesh Nationalist Party. Humaiun Kobir, BNP National Executive Committee Member, Secretary of International Affairs and Advisor to the Acting Chairman has been coordinating BNP’s connections with Rasky Partners.

In January 2015, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP sent a proposal to UK-based lawyer Toby Cadman stating that “Akin Gump is pleased to offer to support the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (‘BNP’) in Washington, DC. by providing legal services (including policy analysis) as described below.”

It went onto say, its services would include “facilitating dialogue between the BNP and politicians in Washington (including in relation to the forthcoming election) and lobbying in relation to war crimes trials taking place in Bangladesh, trade policy and trade negotiations, human rights abuses in Bangladesh, and the general relationship between the United States and Bangladesh”. It may be mentioned here that Toby Cadman played a key role behind 2021 sanctions on Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), imposed by the US Department of Treasury.

In February 2015, the US firm submitted a document confirming that it was undertaking work for the BNP on the basis of a “formal written contract”, and appended the proposal sent to Toby Cadman, as the agreed contract.

In 2007, during the state of emergency, another lobbyist firm namely Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP was hired by the BNP to “advance restoration of a democratic government and expedite elections in Bangladesh”.

The documents submitted by the US firm noted that the “Name and title of the official with whom registrant deals with” was Khaleda Zia. It was paid US$160,000 by BNP.

Similarly, Jamaat-e-Islami hired two lobbyist firms through an organization named Organization for Peace & Justice (OPJ), which is based and incorporated in New York. According to documents submitted by Jamaat-e-Islami’s lobbyist, OPJ is a Jamaat-e-Islami group. “Sympathizers of the Jamaat-e-Islami party serve as directors of the Organization for Peace & Justice, Inc. The mission is to prevent party members from being prosecuted by a politically motivated and government-influenced Tribunal”.

In 2018, OPJ, hired Husch Blackwell Strategies, LLC to ensure that “the United States Government policies, while currently supportive of political stability and democracy, development, and human rights in Bangladesh, do not shift in any manner contrary to the interests of Jamaat-e-Islami, nor create an environment where JI is defined as a security threat within Bangladesh or on an international scale”. The submitted documents suggest that OPJ was acting for the Jamaat as the lobbyist as the form confirmed OPJ as being a “foreign political party”.

In 2014, OPJ hired Cassidy and Associates which “engaged in educational meetings about human rights violations and provided strategic advice in an effort to prevent members of Jamaat-e-Islami Party from being prosecuted and executed by a politically motivated and government influenced tribunal”. It paid a total of US$285,952 [from April to June 2014 US$50,000; from February to July 2015 US$75,915; from August 2015 to January 2016 US$50,037 and US$110,000].

Between 2011 and 2013, Mir Masum Ali, who then lived in the United States, and was the Project Director of media and publications of Muslim Ummah of North America (MUNA) – an organization that attracts US-based supporters of the Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh paid a total £370,000 to the same law firm, Cassidy and Associates, to lobby on “Bangladeshi war crimes tribunal and political opposition matters”.

Mir Masum Ali is the brother of Jamaat-e-Islami leader and executed war criminal Mir Quasem Ali. He paid US$210,000 in 2011, US$140,000 in 2012 and US$20,000 in 2013.

In 2011, another organization named Institute for US Bangladesh Relations hired Cassidy and Associates and paid the firm US$210,000, whereas this organization was connected to executed war criminal Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury and Pakistani spy agency Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI).

Hunter Biden’s connections with BNP

While BNP has been frantically trying to hire Hunter Biden as its lobbyists, it finally has succeeded in reaching an agreement with him through William B Milam. Milam is an influential figure of the Democratic Party and a retired diplomat who runs an organization named ‘Right to Freedom’ jointly with an individual named Mushfiqul Fazal Ansarey – a former Assistant Press Secretary of then Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.

Mushfiqul Fazal Ansarey, a diehard anti-Bharat and anti-Hindu individual with affiliations with jihadist groups and Pakistani spy agency has been making frantic bids with the direct collaboration of William B Milam in pushing the United Nations as well as the US Department of State in unseating Awami League government through undemocratic process. Earlier the duo pursued the United Nations as well as the US Department of State in bringing more politicians and civil-military officials from Bangladesh under fresher sanctions using Global Magnitsky Act.

Ansarey has been working as the “Permanent Correspondent” of an illegal website named ‘Just News’, with active collaboration of William Bryant Milam (William B Milam), an American diplomat, who is known as the Senior Policy Scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington DC., has been making desperate bids both in the Capitol in Washington DC and the UN Headquarters in New York City, with the agenda of misleading key policymakers in Washington and the UN against Bangladesh and ruling Awami League and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. It may be mentioned here that ‘Just News’ does not have any existence in Bangladesh.

According to a credible source, Ansarey spends thousands of dollars every week socializing with key individuals in the US, while he also is seen having lunch and dinner with those individuals, where most of the time he is accompanied by William B Milam.

Although Mushfiqul Fazal Ansarey succeeded in getting press accreditation in the White House and the United Nations claiming as the “US Correspondent” of an illegal website, a vernacular tabloid daily in Dhaka has also been terming Ansarey as its “Permanent Reporter in the United Nations” and the White House. This vernacular tabloid has also been prominently publishing anti-Awami League propaganda materials sent by Ansarey on a regular basis.

It may be mentioned here that, on October 27, 2020, at the persuasions of William B Milam and Mushfiqul Fazal Ansarey, ten US Senators sent a letter to then Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Secretary of Treasury Steven Mnuchin calling for sanctions against RAB officials. In the United Kingdom, the Guernica 37 Chambers law offices made a formal submission to the British Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office in August 2021 recommending sanctions for 15 current and former senior RAB officers.

On August 31, 2021, the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission held a virtual hearing on enforced disappearances in Bangladesh where several witnesses suggested taking punitive action. Bangladesh Foreign Ministry was not apprised of the case of letters sent by the US Senators, as it was later alleged that the Bangladesh High Commissioner in Washington DC was actually a former leader of BNP’s student wing.

At the directives of BNP’s fugitive and convicted leader Tarique Rahman, William B Milam and Mushfiqul Fazal Ansarey also maintain deeper contact with controversial Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus.

After months of frantic bids, Bangladesh Nationalist Party has finally succeeded in reaching into a lobbyist arrangement with Hunter Biden through Blue Star Strategies. Although the amount of “lobbyist fees” offered by BNP to Hunter Biden remains unknown, according to a number of sources, the son of US President Joe Biden has been assigned to accomplish three goals – to obstruct Awami League from holding the next general election without participation of BNP; to exert pressure on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in holding the next general election under direct supervision of Washington; and to stop import of goods from Bangladesh if the next general election is held without BNP.

It was also learnt from sources that at the request of Muhammad Yunus, Hillary Clinton also has been trying to influence US President Joe Biden through a number of key officials, including Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

Massive propaganda plan of BNP

In addition to its ongoing lobbyist efforts and recent arrangements with Hunter Biden, Bangladesh Nationalist Party has hired a New York-based PR firm in running full-page ads for consecutive five days in The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal with “appeal” of obstructing the general election in Bangladesh, once the ruling Awami League moves ahead with the election and schedule of it is announced.

Bangladesh Nationalist Party also is looking for hiring journalists and columnists in a number of major publications in the US, while Tarique Rahman plans to do similar propaganda in a number of major newspapers in Britain. For such propaganda efforts, BNP has been building a huge fund with contributions from wealthy leaders of the party as well as Jamaat-e-Islami, while family members of executed or convicted war criminals would also contribute to it.
